Indications that the company was in trouble – be specific.
Trump Entertainment Resort is a part of the hospitality, gaming and entertainment industry. Since its
inception in the early 1980's there were numerous purchases of various properties such as the Trump
Plaza Hotel and Casino, Trump Marina and the Taj Mahal which was purchased during consecutive
years. Financial trouble began for Trump Entertainment Resort during the purchase of the Taj Mahal

The Advancements Of India Over Time
India over time has been one of the most balanced governments in history. There has been very few
big conflicts with other countries and their own government. I am researching the advancements of
the indian world from when it started all the way up into modern day history. Also, knowing the
likeliness that they have changed a lot over multiple centuries I will search for primary sources that I
think will best describe the changes that have taken place over the years. Towards the start of the
16th Century in the year 1504 Babur captured Kabul to take their first control of the Mughal Empire
(History World). The official launching of the Mughal Empire was in 1526 nearing the completion
of the Battle at Panipat where the Babur once again took down the Sultan of Delhi to become the
first major lead group of the new empire. Throughout time the Babur kept fighting to maintain
control of the Mughal. This plan from the opponents of Babur did not expect to be knocked out of
the running for the empire and all of the fighting led to advancements of taking over more of what is
now modern day India (History World). As time went on multiple landowners who were also
wealthy started building places for them to live in. Such as palaces, houses, and also multiple pieces
of land that they would buy to continue to upgrade the city or empire to make it even more valuable
to live in and would make it more likely to have more battles for possession of the land. The

Architecture Of The Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal, located on the southern bank of Yamuna River in Agra, India, is said to be created by
Shah Jahan in 1632. It is known to be a complex mausoleum that combines Persian, Islamic, and
Indian influences, and is one of the "world's most celebrated structures and stunning symbols of
India's rich history". From Sanskrit, Tejo Mahalay (Taj Mahal) means "The Great Abode of Tej". In
the Hindu religion, the name Shiva translates to Tejaji and Mahalay means mansion. Therefore, the
Taj should have been known to be a Temple Palace of Lord Shiva, Hindu God. Mumtaz was Shah
Jahan's most beautiful and devoted wife who was "content to have lots of children with her husband
died giving birth to their fourteenth child". Although many historians believe that Shah Jahan had
created the Taj to cherish his wife, others believe that it originated an ancient Shiva temple.
According to N.P. Oak, Indian journalist, Shah Jahan had commandeered it from Maharaja of Jaipur
and therefore did not create it himself. The Taj Mahal was meant to be a remembrance of Mumtaz,
but the structure of the building proves otherwise; the Taj Mahal should be viewed as a temple, not a
tomb. Temples are often built on river banks and sea benches. The Taj Mahal was built on the banks
of the Yamuna River, which was the ideal location for a Shiva Temple. Also, the Taj is located in
Agra city, which is an ancient center of Shiva worship. The officials at Agra preserve their tradition
by worshipping at five Shiva

The Namesake Film Analysis
At the start of the film, Ashoke and Ashima leave India for America and their life together begins.
The move from the big city of Calcutta to the big city of New York is much lonelier because they
have no family nearby and the land is unfamiliar. The climate is also different, it is winter time and
the weather is cold. Ashima is learning very quickly that the living conditions are different. Ashoke
explains to her that they have gas twenty–four hours a day, and the difference between hot and cold
water symbols. Also there was no need for her to boil the water for drinking; she could just drink
straight from the tap. Life in America is different and at times lonely, however Ashoke believes it's
the land of opportunity. When Ashima ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The clashes are both cultural and generation based. Teenagers in any culture choose not to listen to
their parents, and play loud music as Gogol did in the movie. The Ganguli home is often filled with
Bengali family and friends, and that provides a support system for Ashoke and Ashima. It makes the
Ganguli's feel like they did when they were in India, surrounded by family. Gogol receives some
advice from his aunt before leaving for college. She tells him to have fun, but come home and marry
a Bengali woman. After Gogol leaves home, he meets Maxine who is American in every sense of
the word. She is in the upper social class, and Gogol is attracted to her family because they are
American. They call Gogol, Nick short for Nikhil. He distances himself from his parents by not
returning phones calls, and upsets Ashima when he would rather visit Maxine's parents than his
own. Gogol does decide to stop at his parents on the way to visit Maxine's, out of possible guilt for
not keeping in touch. Gogol introduces Maxine, and she calls Ashima by her first name. It's apparent
that is not the respectful introduction Ashima would have preferred. Again, a clash in cultures, and
what's considered appropriate. Gogol and Maxine leave, and Maxine states she would've never
guessed those were his parents. Gogol celebrates his birthday with Maxine's family and his mother

Hierarchical Ordering Of Shah Jahani Architecture
Focusing on the decoration of the chamber, the hierarchical ordering of the entire complex reaches
its crescendo in the chamber. Mumtaz's cenotaph sits at the geometric centre of the building; Jahan
was buried at a later date by her side to the west – an arrangement seen in other Mughal tombs of
the period such as Tomb of I'timād–ud–Daula. Marble is used exclusively as the base material for
increasingly dense, expensive and complex parchin kari floral decoration as one approaches the
screen and cenotaphs which are inlaid with semi–precious stones. The use of such inlay work is
often reserved in Shah Jahani architecture for spaces associated with the emperor or his immediate
family. The ordering of this decoration simultaneously emphasises the cardinal points and the centre
of the chamber with dissipating concentric octagons. Such hierarchies appear in both Muslim and
Indian culture as important spiritual and astrological themes. The chamber is an abundant evocation
of the garden of paradise with representations of flowers, plants and arabesques and the calligraphic
inscriptions in both the thuluth and the less formal naskh script, Shah Jahan's cenotaph is beside
Mumtaz's to the western side. It is the only asymmetric element in the entire complex. His cenotaph
is bigger than his wife's, but reflects the same elements: A larger casket on slightly taller base, again
decorated with astonishing precision with lapidary and calligraphy which identifies Shah Jahan. On

Taj Mahal
The globalisation processes conduce to the blurring of boundaries between nations. The modern life
let us feel ourselves the global citizens, according to the concept of global citizenship. Every year,
tourists totalling two times the population of Agra pass through its gates to catch a glimpse of one of
the most magnificent and spectacular buildings in the world. Few leave disappointed after seeing
this beautiful site.
One of the most famous and beautiful architectural monument that attracts the masses from all over
the world is Taj Mahal. Built in the 17th century, a great example of the Mughal architecture. Its
marble dome, tilted minarets and majestic tombs has become a source of wonder and delight for
millions of people.
The Taj Mahal was ordered to be constructed by the Indian ruler Shah Jahan, from materials
including lapis lazuli, jade, amethyst, etc. The Taj Mahal complex includes a main gateway, a garden,
a red sandstone mosque, and a building called the "jawab." Shah Jahan had desired to build a second
mausoleum across the river, to have his own remains buried there and the two mausoleums to be
connected with bridges. Unfortunately, these plans never took shape.

marble platform, with the Yamuna River to its back. Purely decorative 40m–high white minarets
embellish each corner of the platform. These are not quite perpendicular and may have been
designed to lean outwards. The reason behind this is being that, in the event of an earthquake, these

famous gathering place for the Muslims in the city of Agra. A similar building in the east, the Jawab,

Achievements Of The Mughal Empire And The Taj Mahal Empire
Unfortunately, the Mughal Empire has recently fell apart. It was an Islamic empire of northern India
during the early modern era from the early sixteenth to mid–nineteenth centuries.
The Empire flourished, but like many other previous empires, the Mughal Empire fell. The empire
led to many achievements in history, including the completion of the Taj Mahal.
There were many great leaders of the Mughal Empire, but the most well known was Akbar I or
Akbar the Great. Akbar was the son of Babur, the first emperor of the Mughal Empire. They both
were descendants of Genghis Khan, which could explain their excellent war tactics. Akbar was very
cunning and strong. By the end of his ruling, he centralized the empire, and made religious peace.
He combined many religions together, which wasn't successful. After Akbar, his son took over.
Jahangir, his son, was an excellent administrator, and greatly improved the economic and political
structure. He also was fond of Persian arts and culture. One of the greatest achievements of the
empire was the ruling of most of India and Pakistan. Also, the Mughals spread Muslim arts, culture,
and religion throughout the empire including other parts of Asia. Many great monuments inspired by
persian architecture were built by the Muslim emperors. One of these was the Taj Mahal, which is a
symbol for India. Overall, the empire had many great leaders, and plenty of culture blended within.
The Mughals used Islamic, Persian, Turkic and Indian architecture as

A Comparison Of The Taj Mahal And Palace Of Versailles
Ever since man began building structures and settling land, art has manifested itself in our
architectural creations. Whether it be to celebrate or worship a God or Gods, a grand sculpture to
bury a powerful leader or remember them by, or to show a culture's dedication to specific values,
our architectural constructions have led to some of the finest art this Earth has ever seen. The Taj
Mahal and Palace of Versailles are two great examples of such art. By examining each of these
individually, and then comparing and contrasting them, it will become clear that no matter how
different looking these buildings may be, they still serve the same purpose to the civilizations that
erected them. The first piece of architectural art to look at is the Taj Mahal. It was constructed as a
mausoleum for the wife of Shah Jahan's favorite wife after her death following complications of
childbirth (Kapadia, n.d.). It became so famous that its design was even replicated as a casino in
Atlantic City, although that became a mausoleum for the cash of its investors. When someone looks
at the Taj Mahal for the first time, the thing that stands out the most is the use of white marble in its
construction. Almost everything in the Taj Mahal was created with white marble. Next to be noticed
would be both the domes and minarets that make up the monument. These are key tenets of the
Mughal style that was used in building it. So too is the calligraphy that adorns almost all of the
gateways and

structures which include a mausoleum containing the tombs of the Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal.
It was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal after her death. Taj Mahal
represents the power and the glory of the Mughal Empire also it is a symbol of love between Shah

empire during that time. It covers a 580m x 300m area and the complex was ordered by grids. Even

Also, all of the rectangles used in the mausoleum fits the golden section ratio. Besides those, the
organization of the spaces inside the mausoleum encourages people to make a circulation movement
around the central dome and this continuous movement creates a flow between spaces. Also, the
water creates a directionality and gives people a visual axis to show mausoleum. Other elements
such as the voids at the entrance used for blocking the view when it is necessary. From the inside of
the gate only a part of the mausoleum can be seen but from the outside of the entrance all of it can
be seen and the use of materials was a symbol of hierarchical order between buildings in the Taj
Mahal. This situation was created with the use of white marble. When the amount of marble
increases in a building in Taj Mahal, the importance of the building increases. It can be seen by
looking to the facades of other buildings and Mausoleum. The structural members used as elements
to provide hierarchy too. Proportions and the details of the columns changed based on that. For
example, columns are larger and richer in the funerary area compared to bazaar

The Socio-Cultural Analysis Of India
The Socio–Cultural Analysis of India Culture is defined as "The arts, beliefs, customs, institutions,
and other products of human work and thought considered as a unit, especially with regard to a
particular time or social group" by American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language (2011).
Also, the Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms (2005) defines culture as "A feature of the
terrain that has been constructed by man. Included are such items as roads, buildings, and canals;
boundary lines; and, in a broad sense, all names and legends on a map". In a nutshell, culture is
everything that makes up the basic ways of life. Culture is comprised of five basic characteristics.
Culture is learned, shared, symbolic, integrated, and dynamic (Bueno, 2012). This means that
aspects of culture are spread by social interactions such as trade, language and other communication
technologies. Some of the more common forms of communication technologies and language are
movies, television shows, literature, arts, and local history. Symbolism is similar to the learned and
shared aspects in many ways. Language, literature, and the arts are all major ways in which the
symbolism of a specific culture is spread. The integration of culture is based on pattern. The specific
dimensions of social life create social norms that are followed. The economy and politics are two of
the more prevalent forms of social life that lead to the patterns of integration. Lastly, there is a

The Negative Effects Of Social Media
Before the era of social media, vacations got their meaning from the quality of the memories that
were brought home; however, with technology and social media becoming increasingly more
prevalent in today's society, this is not the case anymore. With 76% of travelers posting their
vacation pictures online through some social media platform, the "success" of a trip is now often
defined by the number of "likes" that our posted photos receive (Frenaye). In this new culture of

there are unmistakable harmful psychological effects that develop in users of social media. Many

commemorate his love for her, Jahan ordered the greatest mausoleum of all time to be built in her

absolutely love this game for the reason it has helped me with not only my friendships but also my
schoolwork. Now I've always played this game on my Xbox and it's always thrilling to receive
another update on this fantastic game. Thanks to Minecraft I've created an array of creations such as

thanks to these grand creations.
But, not only does outwitting your friends on Survival help you. But, it also helps you out with

Destruction Of The Taj Mahal
One of the world's greatest love stories produced a timeless monument. The structure's sheer beauty
inspired poetic words from the builder himself. The monument is an engineering marvel that has
been studied by scholars and historians alike. Visitors throughout history have been infatuated by the
shrine's elegance. Count Hermann Keyserling describes the monument as, "A massive marble
structure, without weight, as if formed of ether, perfectly rational and at the same time entirely
decorative (Taj Mahal, 2008).Keyserling went on to say, "It is perhaps the greatest art work which
the forming spirit of mankind has ever brought forth (Taj Mahal, 2008)." An American novelist,
Bayard Taylor referred to this structure as a castle in the air (Taj Mahal, 2008). Constructed as a
tomb for the emperor's deceased wife, the Taj Mahal stands as one of the greatest manmade
creations in the history of the world.
The travel website, Taj Mahal, illustrates the origins of this monument. It was constructed to serve
as a memorial and tomb for Mumtaz Mahal, the deceased wife of the emperor Shah Jahan (Taj
Mahal, 2008). Before her death, while birthing Shah Jahan's fourteenth child, she requested Jahan
build a monument to honor her as stated by the Taj Mahal website (Taj Mahal, 2008). In 1631,
construction began, and was finally completed twenty–two years later (Taj Mahal, 2008). Twenty–
two thousand workers labored in constructing the monument bringing materials by elephant from

Essay On Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal
Taj Mahal, a marvelous white marbled mahal, symbolizes the beauty of love, and misery, is one of
the seven wonders of the world. Taj Mahal was built during the Mughal Period when Mughals
(Muslims) from Persia, Afghanistan, and many parts of middle east conquered India. It was built by
fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jahan who ruled India during the early 17th century. He constructed the
divine Taj in the memory of his begum (wife) Mumtaz Mahal. Mumtaz Mahal was a Persian Muslim
Princess, who married Shah Jahan in 1612 (tajmahal.gov.in Staff). Soon after begum's death, Taj
Mahal's construction was started in 1631. Shah Jahan had two aims, firstly to construct the largest

Jahan ordered to build the Taj Mahal. As a result, Taj Mahal symbolizes the eternal love of emperor
and his queen. Taj Mahal was completed in 1648 but it was not open to public until 1653. Taj Mahal
is nothing but a gigantic marble tomb. This was a gift from Shah Jahan to his wife. Soon after the
completion of the monument, Mumtaz's dead body was placed in the center of the tomb. But after
few years in 1658, Shah Jahan was captured by his own son named Aurangzeb. Aurangzeb was the
last great Mughal emperor formed in the history of Mughal dynasty. Aurangzeb was the third son of
Shah Jahan and Mumtaz. Because of greed of becoming the emperor of dynasty, Aurangzeb killed
his elder brother and imprisoned his father, Shah Jahan for eight years. Shah Jahan was imprisoned
in Agra Fort, which was on the opposite side of the river Yamuna, and from the balcony of the Agra
Fort, Taj Mahal was visible. This helped Shah Jahan to help survive for more years. But after eight
years, Shah Jahan died of illness on January 22, 1666 in the city of Agra (Bhavesh Variya, 88). Later

THE TEMOLE OF ARTEMIS AT EPHESUS VS TAJ MAHAL
The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus vs the Taj Mahal
Two significant historical structures are compared in this essay which are The Temple of Artemis at
Ephesus and the Taj Mahal. These two architectural installations were created in different time
periods and in different civilizations. The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus and the Taj Mahal both may
have some similarities and several differences.
The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus was constructed by Greek architectures in the mid–6th century
BCE at Ephesus. ("The temple of Artemis," 2012) This ancient Greek city was also known as the
"City of the Mother Goddess" which explains the reason why Greeks decided to construct The
Temple of Artemis there. (Mark, Cartwright, & Violatti, 2009) This Temple is known as one of the
Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Temple of Artemis was built in honor of the goddess of
the chastity, virginity, the hunt, the moon, and the natural environment, Artemis. She was daughter
of Zeus, as soon as Artemis was born, she helped her mother give birth to her twin brother, thereby
becoming the protector of childbirth and labor. She asked her father to grant her eternal chastity and
virginity, and never gave in to any potential lovers; devoted to hunting and nature, she rejected
marriage and love. ("Artemis pictures," 1997) The ancient Greek Temple was built by a Crete

Architecture Of The Taj Mahal
Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal is an ivory white marble mausoleum situated on the south bank of the Yamuna River
in the Agra district in Uttar Pradesh, India. It was initially built by Emperor Shah Jahan to house the
tomb of his wife. The Taj Mahal remains an architectural wonder of the modern world. The
construction began around 1632 and completed in 1648, with the mosque, the guest house and the
main gateway on the south, the outer courtyard and its cloisters were added subsequently and
completed in 1653. In all, more than 20,000 workers from India, Persia, Europe and the Ottoman
Empire, along with some 1,000 elephants, were brought in to build the tomb complex.
The marble dome is often called an onion dome because of its shape. The onion shaped dome of the
taj mahal sits on a massive drum that adds support to the circular top. The mausoleum was
constructed using materials from all over India and Asia. It was constructed of white marble
decorated with semi–precious stones (including jade, crystal, lapis lazuli, amethyst and turquoise)
forming complex designs in a technique known as pietra dura. At its center is the Taj Mahal itself,
built of shimmering white marble that appears to change colour depending upon the sunlight or
moonlight hitting its surface. Much of the calligraphy is composed of florid thuluth script, made of
jasper or black marble, decorated in white marble panels. The four sides of the Taj Mahal are
perfectly identical creating an incredibly mirrored image on

divider on every side has a portal. The core way has four white marble minarets in the four corners
and the mausoleum has five patios, ascending from the storm cellar, one over the other, decreasing
in size as they climb. The red sandstone passage portal is the biggest and is luxuriously improved
with decorated shaded stonework. With its enchanting extents, it is independent from anyone else a

It is noticed from the literature and results that Taj Mahal is among the prominent Mughal buildings

DEPENDABILITY
As stated above there is no particular problem identified with The Trump's Taj Mahal but there are
solutions in order to grow and develop the Taj Mahal. In terms of dependability because Trump's Taj
Mahal is such a huge hotel that can house over two thousand guest at a time, they could look at
ensuring that they are never under staffed. In ensuring adequate staff at all times they are avoiding
under delivering on people's expectations, or their promised offerings.
With Atlantic City being a city where natural disasters have happened it would be a strategic idea to
have an emergency management plan to be held out if a disaster were to happen, this would put the
guest mind at ease about their safety and security if anything were to occur making The Taj
dependable.

Taj Mahal Architecture
The Taj Mahal The Taj Mahal is a great example of symmetry because the first half of the building
corresponds perfectly with the other half of the building. Also, with the building reflecting off the
water, you can see the beautiful mirror symmetry that is displayed. The pointed arches within a
rectangular frame dominate the exterior facade of the main building. In the Taj Mahal, the graves of
the Emperor and his wife lie in the center of an octagonal room. The drainage holes in some of the
stones have a hexagonal pattern. The many domes in the Taj Mahal form circles at the bases. The
diameter of the biggest dome is sixty feet long.
History of the Taj Mahal:
Shah Jahan, the fifth Emperor of the Mughal dynasty, built the building in twenty–one years.
The Taj Mahal was built as a memorial to Shah Jahan's beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, after her death

Architecture Style And Architecture Of The Taj Mahal
CHAPTER 1
1.0 INTRODUCTION A story makes an old building charming. In reality, a pleasing exterior view
does not ensure people will be attracted to the particular heritage building. It is the story behind the
heritage building that gives meaning to both building and people. As a heritage building, the
building itself has been passed the test of time and becomes a typical landmark for a city. Hence, the
story of the building explained its architecture style and structure which makes it be a remarkable
building. For instance, Sultan Abdul Samad Building (SASB) has a unique architectural design
which is the mixture of several architectural styles. This result is caused by the Charles Edwin
Spooner, the state engineer of Public Work Department, Selangor, who worked in Ceylon before
transferred to Selangor. He preferred to design a Mughal–style building on a Classic Renaissance
style ground plan which suggested by A.C. Norman. Moreover, British Victorian style is
incorporated into this building's design as the British colonized Malaya. This story explained its
unique architectural structure while gave the new generation a better understanding of the classic
architectural style and the history of Malaysia. Thus, theories, ideas, and ideologies which

would be a good president and why. This paper will be about the the candidate's mistakes and plan

think Jill stein would not be a good president because she has a criminal recorded. In my opinion
just because she got arrested makes her sound like unprofessional. Gary Johnson believes in no
immigration restrictions. He believes in Anti–Gun Control. According to this article Gary Johnson

Since its inception in the early 1980's there were numerous purchases of various properties such as the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, Trump Marina and the Taj Mahal which was purchased during consecutive years. Financial trouble began for Trump Entertainment Resort during the purchase of the Taj Mahal property which during the final phase of its purchase, risky securities were used in effort to fund the takeover smoothly. Due to this purchase Trump Entertainment Resort suffered a financial blow and attempts to repay their debts became very difficult to accomplish. These activities became a predecessor ... • 5. The Advancements Of India Over Time India over time has been one of the most balanced governments in history. There has been very few big conflicts with other countries and their own government. I am researching the advancements of the indian world from when it started all the way up into modern day history. Also, knowing the likeliness that they have changed a lot over multiple centuries I will search for primary sources that I think will best describe the changes that have taken place over the years. Towards the start of the 16th Century in the year 1504 Babur captured Kabul to take their first control of the Mughal Empire (History World). The official launching of the Mughal Empire was in 1526 nearing the completion of the Battle at Panipat where the Babur once again took down the Sultan of Delhi to become the first major lead group of the new empire. Throughout time the Babur kept fighting to maintain control of the Mughal. This plan from the opponents of Babur did not expect to be knocked out of the running for the empire and all of the fighting led to advancements of taking over more of what is now modern day India (History World). As time went on multiple landowners who were also wealthy started building places for them to live in. Such as palaces, houses, and also multiple pieces of land that they would buy to continue to upgrade the city or empire to make it even more valuable to live in and would make it more likely to have more battles for possession of the land. • 9. Architecture Of The Taj Mahal The Taj Mahal, located on the southern bank of Yamuna River in Agra, India, is said to be created by Shah Jahan in 1632. It is known to be a complex mausoleum that combines Persian, Islamic, and Indian influences, and is one of the "world's most celebrated structures and stunning symbols of India's rich history". From Sanskrit, Tejo Mahalay (Taj Mahal) means "The Great Abode of Tej". In the Hindu religion, the name Shiva translates to Tejaji and Mahalay means mansion. Therefore, the Taj should have been known to be a Temple Palace of Lord Shiva, Hindu God. Mumtaz was Shah Jahan's most beautiful and devoted wife who was "content to have lots of children with her husband died giving birth to their fourteenth child". Although many historians believe that Shah Jahan had created the Taj to cherish his wife, others believe that it originated an ancient Shiva temple. According to N.P. Oak, Indian journalist, Shah Jahan had commandeered it from Maharaja of Jaipur and therefore did not create it himself. The Taj Mahal was meant to be a remembrance of Mumtaz, but the structure of the building proves otherwise; the Taj Mahal should be viewed as a temple, not a tomb. Temples are often built on river banks and sea benches. The Taj Mahal was built on the banks of the Yamuna River, which was the ideal location for a Shiva Temple. Also, the Taj is located in Agra city, which is an ancient center of Shiva worship. The officials at Agra preserve their tradition by worshipping at five Shiva ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. The Namesake Film Analysis At the start of the film, Ashoke and Ashima leave India for America and their life together begins. The move from the big city of Calcutta to the big city of New York is much lonelier because they have no family nearby and the land is unfamiliar. The climate is also different, it is winter time and the weather is cold. Ashima is learning very quickly that the living conditions are different. Ashoke explains to her that they have gas twenty–four hours a day, and the difference between hot and cold water symbols. Also there was no need for her to boil the water for drinking; she could just drink straight from the tap. Life in America is different and at times lonely, however Ashoke believes it's the land of opportunity. When Ashima ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The clashes are both cultural and generation based. Teenagers in any culture choose not to listen to their parents, and play loud music as Gogol did in the movie. The Ganguli home is often filled with Bengali family and friends, and that provides a support system for Ashoke and Ashima. It makes the Ganguli's feel like they did when they were in India, surrounded by family. Gogol receives some advice from his aunt before leaving for college. She tells him to have fun, but come home and marry a Bengali woman. After Gogol leaves home, he meets Maxine who is American in every sense of the word. She is in the upper social class, and Gogol is attracted to her family because they are American. They call Gogol, Nick short for Nikhil. He distances himself from his parents by not returning phones calls, and upsets Ashima when he would rather visit Maxine's parents than his own. Gogol does decide to stop at his parents on the way to visit Maxine's, out of possible guilt for not keeping in touch. Gogol introduces Maxine, and she calls Ashima by her first name. It's apparent that is not the respectful introduction Ashima would have preferred. Again, a clash in cultures, and what's considered appropriate. Gogol and Maxine leave, and Maxine states she would've never guessed those were his parents. Gogol celebrates his birthday with Maxine's family and his mother cannot get in ... • 17. Hierarchical Ordering Of Shah Jahani Architecture Focusing on the decoration of the chamber, the hierarchical ordering of the entire complex reaches its crescendo in the chamber. Mumtaz's cenotaph sits at the geometric centre of the building; Jahan was buried at a later date by her side to the west – an arrangement seen in other Mughal tombs of the period such as Tomb of I'timād–ud–Daula. Marble is used exclusively as the base material for increasingly dense, expensive and complex parchin kari floral decoration as one approaches the screen and cenotaphs which are inlaid with semi–precious stones. The use of such inlay work is often reserved in Shah Jahani architecture for spaces associated with the emperor or his immediate family. The ordering of this decoration simultaneously emphasises the cardinal points and the centre of the chamber with dissipating concentric octagons. Such hierarchies appear in both Muslim and Indian culture as important spiritual and astrological themes. The chamber is an abundant evocation of the garden of paradise with representations of flowers, plants and arabesques and the calligraphic inscriptions in both the thuluth and the less formal naskh script, Shah Jahan's cenotaph is beside Mumtaz's to the western side. It is the only asymmetric element in the entire complex. His cenotaph is bigger than his wife's, but reflects the same elements: A larger casket on slightly taller base, again decorated with astonishing precision with lapidary and calligraphy which identifies Shah Jahan. • 21. Short Essay On Taj Mahal Taj Mahal The globalisation processes conduce to the blurring of boundaries between nations. The modern life let us feel ourselves the global citizens, according to the concept of global citizenship. Every year, tourists totalling two times the population of Agra pass through its gates to catch a glimpse of one of the most magnificent and spectacular buildings in the world. Few leave disappointed after seeing this beautiful site. One of the most famous and beautiful architectural monument that attracts the masses from all over the world is Taj Mahal. Built in the 17th century, a great example of the Mughal architecture. Its marble dome, tilted minarets and majestic tombs has become a source of wonder and delight for millions of people. The Taj Mahal was ordered to be constructed by the Indian ruler Shah Jahan, from materials including lapis lazuli, jade, amethyst, etc. The Taj Mahal complex includes a main gateway, a garden, a red sandstone mosque, and a building called the "jawab." Shah Jahan had desired to build a second mausoleum across the river, to have his own remains buried there and the two mausoleums to be connected with bridges. Unfortunately, these plans never took shape. Aurangzeb, Shah ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On certain occasions, the Taj Mahal is reflected in the water. This monument itself stands on a marble platform, with the Yamuna River to its back. Purely decorative 40m–high white minarets embellish each corner of the platform. The reason behind this is being that, in the event of an earthquake, these minars they would fall away from the Taj rather than towards it. • 25. Achievements Of The Mughal Empire And The Taj Mahal Empire Unfortunately, the Mughal Empire has recently fell apart. It was an Islamic empire of northern India during the early modern era from the early sixteenth to mid–nineteenth centuries. The Empire flourished, but like many other previous empires, the Mughal Empire fell. The empire led to many achievements in history, including the completion of the Taj Mahal. There were many great leaders of the Mughal Empire, but the most well known was Akbar I or Akbar the Great. Akbar was the son of Babur, the first emperor of the Mughal Empire. They both were descendants of Genghis Khan, which could explain their excellent war tactics. Akbar was very cunning and strong. By the end of his ruling, he centralized the empire, and made religious peace. He combined many religions together, which wasn't successful. After Akbar, his son took over. Jahangir, his son, was an excellent administrator, and greatly improved the economic and political structure. He also was fond of Persian arts and culture. One of the greatest achievements of the empire was the ruling of most of India and Pakistan. Also, the Mughals spread Muslim arts, culture, and religion throughout the empire including other parts of Asia. Many great monuments inspired by persian architecture were built by the Muslim emperors. One of these was the Taj Mahal, which is a symbol for India. Overall, the empire had many great leaders, and plenty of culture blended within. The Mughals used Islamic, Persian, Turkic and Indian architecture as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. A Comparison Of The Taj Mahal And Palace Of Versailles Ever since man began building structures and settling land, art has manifested itself in our architectural creations. Whether it be to celebrate or worship a God or Gods, a grand sculpture to bury a powerful leader or remember them by, or to show a culture's dedication to specific values, our architectural constructions have led to some of the finest art this Earth has ever seen. The Taj Mahal and Palace of Versailles are two great examples of such art. By examining each of these individually, and then comparing and contrasting them, it will become clear that no matter how different looking these buildings may be, they still serve the same purpose to the civilizations that erected them. The first piece of architectural art to look at is the Taj Mahal. It was constructed as a mausoleum for the wife of Shah Jahan's favorite wife after her death following complications of childbirth (Kapadia, n.d.). It became so famous that its design was even replicated as a casino in Atlantic City, although that became a mausoleum for the cash of its investors. When someone looks at the Taj Mahal for the first time, the thing that stands out the most is the use of white marble in its construction. Almost everything in the Taj Mahal was created with white marble. Next to be noticed would be both the domes and minarets that make up the monument. These are key tenets of the Mughal style that was used in building it. So too is the calligraphy that adorns almost all of the gateways and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was initially built by Emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his wife. The Taj Mahal remains an architectural wonder of the modern world. The construction began around 1632 and completed in 1648, with the mosque, the guest house and the main gateway on the south, the outer courtyard and its cloisters were added subsequently and completed in 1653. In all, more than 20,000 workers from India, Persia, Europe and the Ottoman Empire, along with some 1,000 elephants, were brought in to build the tomb complex. The marble dome is often called an onion dome because of its shape. The onion shaped dome of the taj mahal sits on a massive drum that adds support to the circular top. The mausoleum was constructed using materials from all over India and Asia. It was constructed of white marble decorated with semi–precious stones (including jade, crystal, lapis lazuli, amethyst and turquoise) forming complex designs in a technique known as pietra dura. At its center is the Taj Mahal itself, built of shimmering white marble that appears to change colour depending upon the sunlight or moonlight hitting its surface. Much of the calligraphy is composed of florid thuluth script, made of jasper or black marble, decorated in white marble panels. The four sides of the Taj Mahal are perfectly identical creating an incredibly mirrored image on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
