EEP306: Line coding

  1. 1. 23-8-12 Experiment Line Coding Aim: To study and get familiar with properties of Line-Code Encoder and Line-Code Decoder modules. Introduction: Its main purpose is to serve as interface between TTL signals and Analog channel and vice- versa Line coding is used for various purposes like- Spectrum Shaping: This are used to reshape and relocate the filter without any modulation or filtration. Remove DC component. Error detection We analyse NRZ-L, NRZ-M, UNI-RZ, BIP-RZ, RZ-AMI, Biφ-L, DICODE-NRZ and duo- binary encoding. Observations and remarks: Line code ENCODER: NRZ-L There is a delay in the o/p of the line code encoder. NRL-Z

  9. 9. The decoded signal for unicode-rz scheme was not observed. However we checked the system and there were no issues. Conclusion Line coding schemes are used to convert analog to TTL and vice-versa. This are also used for various purposes like converting a binary signal to three level or (+-) signal. This are used for error detection, etc without using any filter or modulation.
