How Teams Can Help Leaders Increase Levels Of Innovation
Team–Based Creativity
Introduction
In the early 2016, the LEGO Group announced that its revenue increased by 25.2% in the financial year 2015. The company?s strategy of globalizing
had a positive impact on the results. According to its annual report, because of its globalizing strategy, LEGO reached new consumers in new places
of the world. New products take around 60% of total sales each year. The biggest reason of this continues success is the innovative and
consumer–oriented development process. Right now, LEGO is one of the most powerful brands in the world (LEGO, 2016). Do you know that this
Danish toy maker almost went bankrupt in 2004? And do you know how this company come back from the brink of bankruptcy to today?s success?
One of the key points of this turnaround is the new structure for its strategic innovation activities by having team creativity. This essay will explore how
teams can help leaders increase levels of innovations in their workplace, focusing mainly on team–based creativity: combining critical review and
evaluation of team creativity literature and applications. After discussing these theories and facts, the essay will briefly give some suggestions for
future research.

The Basic Principles Of Design Thinking Problem Solving...
1.0) Introduction
The case provided presents a wide variety of problems, which is reflective of their developing economy; that of recent, has finally been ruled by a
civilian government rather than a military dictatorship. The following problems in chronological order, are witnessed by Bill first–hand, as he looks for
business opportunities for an investment bank, whilst considering his personal objectives.
2.0) Literature Review
Through understanding the design thinking problem solving methodology we can develop Idea generation and problem solving techniques to
understand the necessary processes of good design conceptualisation. Brown has defined design thinking as "designer's sensibility and methods to
match people's needs with what is technologically feasible and what a viable business strategy can convert into customer value and market
opportunity" (Brown, 2008, p. 2). The purpose of this literature review is to examine and explain the basic principles of Design Thinking problem
solving methodology. This literature review will also define design thinking and explain why it is essential in idea generation and problem solving. It
will specifically explore the design thinking five key processes empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test (Stanford d.school, 2011). Using these
five key process can allow for designers to conceptualise their work in a way which enhances their creative capabilities (Brown, 2009).
Design thinking is defined as a methodology that requires the

Dada's Contribution to Contemporary Art
Dada and its impact on Contemporary Art According to the Oxford Dictionary of art, Dada was "A movement in European art (with manifestations
also in New York), c.1915–c.1922, characterized by a spirit of rebellious revolt against traditional values. It arose from a mood of cynicism
engendered by the First World War, to which some artists reacted with, cynicism, sarcasm and nihilism." Gathering in Hugo Balls' Cabaret Voltaire for
spontaneous readings, performances and exhibitions, a group of early avant–gardes mainly of German and French origin, formed the organization
known as Dada. (Justin Wolf's Dada) Numerous explanations were given for the group's name, Dada, which in French means Hobby Horse. The most...

This can sometimes seem odd to the public who does not see its values and heroic stature, resulting in art not being noticed and appreciated by
collectors, galleries and museums but judged as a masterpiece by people who share the artist feelings and thoughts. Based on the research above,
we saw how Dada was formed, its members, its major centres, and major work and how it led to the birth of the Surrealism, which ultimately had a
positive direct effect on art of the 21st century and how it is viewed, thus making contemporary art what it is today. Bibliography "Dada."

The Social Construction Of Leisure
Social construction of leisure is a very important concept to understand before you can understand how life goes on. Leisure can be defined as, the
experience of living a moment of positive self–expression (Pavelka, 2000). In order to be in full leisure mode, individuals have to be able to be in the
moment with the task that they accomplish, as well as experience something positive for that task. Lastly, the individuals should always touch upon
their self–image and how they are able to accomplish becoming who they want to be. Five key concepts that stood out in this course would be, being in
the moment, slowing down, mental health, positive stress and leisure.
Being in the moment is a key component of the social construction of leisure. Leisure cannot be experienced in the present if the mind is racing through
the past or future (Pavelka, 2000, 50). In order to experience leisure an individual must stop thinking about their past and how it affected them
negatively but at the same time that individual has to stop thinking about the future. Thinking about the future can negatively affect the person that you
want to become. Moreover, individuals need to be in a state of freedom flow so that they are not analyzing every possible moment. Being in that state
of free flow allows individuals the opportunity to be in the moment and enjoy everything that is around them. When our thinking is in the moment, it is
responsive to whatever is happening or needed at the time (Carlson &

Good morning, how is everyone today? Wonderful! I am glad you all are well. I hope you did your homework last night! If you did, you will be
getting a gold star on your homework worksheet. Anyways, let us begin our day with the bell ringer. Please complete the three math problems that are
on the board. You must do these by yourself... and yes, that includes you Jonathan. You don 't want me to have another conference with your mother,
right? That 's what I thought. You will all have ten minutes, so go ahead and begin. We will go over them together after time is up. They will help us
review our long division, which I introduced yesterday. If you have any questions, please raise your hand.

Now that I look back, during those times I was pretending to write on a whiteboard and scolding students for not doing homework, I was learning
how to cope with real issues of everyday life. The fake world that kids make up are influenced by their own world around them. They are taught how
to behave and what to understand by their caregivers, teachers, friends, and even strangers around them. As they acquire new knowledge, they begin to
mimic what those people do in their times of play. As for me and my sisters, we often taught our "class" what our own teachers had in their lesson
plans that day, as well as providing similar discipline. As the time passed along when we were playing our game, my sisters and I unknowingly built
individual personalities and goals that fueled the way we viewed our lives.
Similarly to how playtime incorporates the idea of school, the actual school systems utilize the fundamentals of playing in their curriculum, in order to
stimulate the fresh minds of the youth. According to the publication Rethinking Play and Pedagogy in Early Childhood Education, teachers are
combining the skills they teach to the children with the normal behaviors of imagination and fun. They find that playing occurred when children
worked "in small groups," because they "were engaged in active games," while "working with educational toys,"

Responsive Reading Assignment – Sociology 101
The purpose of this essay is to discuss the key ideas presented in the two articles written by Poata–Smith (2004) and Richard Pringle (2007) and to
explore how these key ideas link to the central themes and discourses introduced throughout the duration of the course so far. In sight of the word
limitations, this essay will attempt to cover fewer key ideas highlighted within these texts, but in much more detail. Some key ideas addressed in this
essay include neo–liberalism, class inequalities, biculturalism, and in part two hegemonic masculinities, gender order and negative male identities. At
the conclusion of this discussion, I will take the opportunity to reflect on my personal engagement with the two texts.
Evan Poata–Smith (2004) – Maori Protest Politics and the Waitangi Settlement Process
In his article, Poata–Smith (2004) acknowledges that the Crown alongside the New Zealand Government, although not responsible for the actions of
its predecessors, has taken steps to accept its obligations to the Treaty of Waitangiand to the Maori people and to recognise breaches of the treaty
principles that it has made (p.59). The New Zealand Government, in its attempt to settle past treaty grievances surrounding wrongful confiscation of
land has divided Maori society in two: a division between the Maori working class and the smaller Maori elite. Through neo–liberal reforms to the

THOMAS J. WOODY, Petitioner v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent
Docket No. 30077–07.
Filed April 30, 2009.
P alleges that during tax year 2004 he had a real estate investment and rental business. P deducted expenses associated with this activity as business
expenses under I.R.C. sec. 162. R disallowed the business expense deductions. On the basis of this disallowance, R determined a deficiency in P's
Federal income tax for 2004. P petitioned this Court for redetermination of that deficiency. Held: P was not actively engaged in a real estate investment

Comparing Milton's Views On Oakley And Milton
Oakley and Milton highlighted the theological origins of the concept not from the old tradition of the Ancient Testament, as it was originally argued by
Zilsel and Needham, but from the specific conceptions held by Scotus and Ockham, reworked and widely accepted in the seventeenth century. Whilst
these studies turned the spotlight on a fundamental tradition disregarded or rejected by the previous works, they still cannot explain how a theological
idea, clearly shaped four centuries before the emergence of modern science, became so dominant during the seventeenth century. In Henry's view,
Oakley and Milton cannot answer why the appeal to laws of nature took place in the seventeenth century and not before, bearing in mind that the

She recognises the provisional character of her research, because a complete work would require "other means". In fact, her final remarks are closer to
advise for further researches than to substantive conclusions. For example, she claims that laws of nature shouldn't be understood as a defined concept;
all further study should take as its starting point the ambiguities implied in the spreading of such a metaphorical, varied word. In her view, talking about
a defined concept of law would amount to talk of a well–delimited conception of physics (Roux, 2001, pp. 569–572). Because of this, Zilsel and
Oakley's solution, in her balance, fail to offer a proper answer because capitalism and theological voluntarism are "extremely general to be effectively
true". In other words, the solutions offered only point to specific parts of the amalgamation to which she has pointed. However, Roux's long paper
still conceals the connections of the emergence of the laws of nature with the raising of modern science. In truth, both terminological approaches and
historical studies tracing the origins of a defined concept fail in their intention to offer a detailed historical explanation of the way in which laws were
involved in the origins of modern science. As valuable and necessary as the collection of uses of the word laws can be, they fail to explain how laws
were related (and contributed) to the most basic but characteristics historical phenomena associated to the scientific revolution: the raising of
mechanism, the recovery of ancient atomism, the redefinition of disciplinary boundaries, the growing and rapid development of mathematics, the
achievements in dynamics, astronomy and optics, among others. In other words, if the study of laws of nature is not connected to the historical
phenomena on which they seem to rely, we are still far from appreciating their full significance in the origins of modern science. In opposition to

The Pros And Cons Of Burqas
In France of 2010, the French Parliament banned women from wearing burqas in public. French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, said "the burqa is not a
religious issue... It is a question of freedom and women's dignity." When you look at someone the first thing you see is their face and the face is
something you remember about somebody. French officials think it is not right for women to walk around with their faces covered up. Everyone has
different perspectives of different religions and it is not right for people to judge other religions and say what other religions should and should not
wear but there are other things religions can do instead of hiding their faces. On September 24, 2003, Germany's federal constitutional court rules in
favour of an Afghan–born teacher who wants to wear an Islamic scarf to school. Germany banned all teachers from wearing headscarves to school.
Germany started banning headscarves at first which led to banning headscarves and burqas in the future. On February 3, 2004, France's national
assembly began debating a bill to ban religious symbols, including Muslim headscarves. In European countries, they all started banning headscarves.
Burqas were not that much of a problem then until their headscarves were getting banned then burqas started getting banned. Women wore burqas from
2010 to 2017. In 2010, Belgium was the to ban women from wearing the burqa and niqab in public. In 2015, Dutch cabinet approves a partial ban on

George W Bush Speech Summary
Speech Analysis: George W. Bush– Address to the Nation. The morning of September 11th, 2001, four attacks within the United States left our
nation in complete shock. According to the Final Report of the National Commission, "More than 2,600 people died at the World Trade Center; 125
died at the Pentagon; 256 died on the four planes. The death toll surpassed that at Pearl Harbor in December 1941." Although, I was only two years
old, 9/11 had a huge impact on my childhood and is a defining moment of my generation. President during this time was George W. Bush. As his duty,
President Bush had to give a speech to a nation that was terrified. That speech was dedicated to every American suffering loss, fear, and despair.
Rhetoric used in a speech gives the speaker logical, ethical, or emotional appeal. President Bush does a great job grasping all the uses of rhetoric in
his speech. Readers, or in this case, viewers like to have a little more than just emotion and ethical point of views. President Bush used this distinct
example of logos in his speech:
Our military is powerful, and it's prepared. Our emergency teams are working in New York City and Washington D.C. to help with local rescue efforts.
Our first priority is to get help to those who have been injured, and to take every precaution to protect our citizens at home and around the world from
further attacks. He used these examples to bring to attention that as a nation they were acting on the subject, and that they

Intellectual Progress Of Mankind By Martin Luther King Jr.
Intellectual Progress of Mankind
"Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable...every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless
exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals" – Martin Luther King, Jr. Intellectual progress of mankind is the progression towards
discovering the questions about curiosity on why something is what it is or what makes something work the way that it does. The discovery of which
we make on defining, proving, and supporting scientific and theoretical issues is a reflection of how far we have come on particular issues of study.
this can be defined as changes that take place as a result of growth in the thinking of mankind resulting from one's capability to think, experience,
reasoning judgement and ability to conceptualize. This helps humankind to progress in different aspects of life and make advancements on daily basis
in relation to his life. Three main subject leads toward Intellectual Progress of mankind, philosophies, ideologies, and theories which this paper
examines as related themes that often intersect in educational ideas (Gutek, 2004). Philosophy falls somewhere between the arts and sciences. On the
one hand, it offers idiosyncratic worldviews that may be too disparate to compare. It is not surprising, then, that the question "Is philosophy
progressive?" is hardly ever raised. From one viewpoint, it offers quirky perspectives that might be excessively unique, making

Rhetorical Analysis Of George Bush 9 / 11
Rhetorical Analysis of George W. Bush 9/11 Address to the Nation One of the most detrimental and traumatic events of United States history involves
the terrorist attacks on the day of September 11th, in 2001. September 11th is a day countless Americans will never forget. Because our nation
encountered such a horrific attack, it was up to our president during the time, President George W. Bush, to address the country. Many Americans
suffered loss and fear; therefore, former President George Bush's goal was to heal and comfort the nation by persuading them to see the light within the
darkness. Bush's speech was a success because he showed America's togetherness and solidarity by creating an emotional connection to the audience;
moreover, by responding appropriately to the attacks, he presented himself with a leadership and role no one else could take. When Bush addressed the
nation, he had to assure the American people of their country's strength, which would undoubtedly triumph through this unthinkable misfortune. George
W. Bush states, "These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed. Our country is strong
(Eidenmuller)." This shows how Bush is trying to create an emotional connection to the audience by instilling in Americans that our country must
remain unified and strong during this time of terror. Bush also states, "These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve
(Eidenmuller). This statement testifies that our country cannot be broken, and our country will prevail. About one–in–five Americans cite the country's
response to the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, as the time in their lives when they felt most proud of their country (Gramlich). This indicates just
how powerful our country can be if everyone works together. The terrorist attacks on the United States will forever be burned into the memories of
Americans. That being the case, Bush's attempt at creating an emotional connection to the audience was successful because he brought the country
together with words of strength. Bush was not only successful with creating an emotional connection with the audience, but he also showed Americans
the realness of the

The Importance Of Discovering The Talent For Children
Introduction
This paper focuses on the importance of discovering the talent each child has and ways to nurture the talent or creative the creative side. Art, music
and dance are some common forms of creativity; however creative thought appears in almost all aspects of life. This research paper is written on how
important creativity is and why is should be nurtured. I also included information on how creativity is valuable in the classroom, at home and also
how it's beneficial in the child's future. Included are some ways we has teachers and parents can encourage or help improve a child's creativity and
what some psychologist believed. According to Author/Education advisor, Sir Ken Robinson, he believes that "we can find creativity in everything."
He defines creativity has an imagination activity fashioned so as to produce outcomes that are original and of value."
One way to understand the creative process is via the Wallas Model on creativity. Social Psychologist / Educationalist, Graham Wallas, put forward
one of the earliest theories which who proposed the five stage model, where the focus is the importance of the unconscious mind. The stages involve
the preparation stage where a problem and initial thoughts occurs; the incubation stage where there is thinking about a problem; Illumination where a
"click" or "flash" of a new idea suddenly occurs and you are now aware of the answer; and lastly is the verification stage is where you are working on
the solution. Adult

The Mandate For Parental Policipation In IDEA 2004
Explain the mandate for parental participation in IDEA 2004. IDEA 2004 states that parents must be included in the evaluation and IEP processes. In
addition, they must be notified and provide approval for any assessments and/or evaluations involving their child. In fact, the school must have
"informed consent" before any testing or evaluations can take place. This "informed consent" means the parents understand the processes and
procedures used by the school to ascertain the best way to assist their child. Additionally, this permission must be provided verbally or in writing in the
language the parent or guardian understands. Even with "informed consent", a parent may still refuse a special education placement if this is the
decision of the IEP team. Furthermore, parents must provide their authorization before any information regarding their child is released to third parties
such as doctors, outside counselors or psychologists who may be working with their student. Also, parents have the right to refuse to have their child
evaluated. In this case, the school has a legal procedure to follow to determine if they have the right to test this student without parental permission.
The school must follow these legal guidelines if they want to evaluate a student. If a parent still has their parental rights, but they can not be found, the
school is not allowed to evaluate. This is an example of how important a parent's rights are in the IDEA 2004 law. In essence,

Obama addressed the audience as the re–elected President of America in an inaugural ceremony on the West Front of Capitol. The speech was written
by Jonathan Favreau. In an inaugural address, Obama touched upon several important issues; immigration, gender equality, and economic reforms and
left behind the message that unity is our nation's ultimate strength. He was able convinced the audience that they should all work together to
overcome all issues and for a better tomorrow for the next generation. Obama successfully persuaded the audience by exemplifying that he was aware
of their issues, problems, and future needs. Greek philosopher Aristotle divided the means of persuasion, appeals, intro three categories; ethos

credible, logical, and appealed to them emotionally. In late 1950s, Richard Neustadt wrote Presidential Power and the Modern President, in which he
explained that presidential power is the power to persuade. Central motivation of this book was to advice new president with their strategic problem of

Introduction/Objective: The team took a proactive approach by developing a strategy and implementing an effective solution for completing the design
project within the established timeframe. Teaming describes the combining or joint effort in completing a task or working together in unison to create
change, (Edmondson, 2012). As a team, we discussed the requirements for the project and determined the best method of approach by dividing the
process into stages. Organizing to learn encourages intuition and the development of new ideas, (Edmondson, 2012). Our first step was to decide on an
organization that would provide a topic of interest in order to establish a platform in which to build upon. Quantum ideas and increment ideas are...

As a team, we agreed that this topic, though very controversial, would provide the necessary elements needed to formulate a design project of interest.
The team's ability to think outside the box and engage in creative thinking allowed us to put our strategy into motion. Framing changes our direction of
thinking by challenging our thought process and redefining the important aspects of how we perceive a certain situation, (Edmondson, 2012). By the
second week of this project, the team had picked an organization, identified a topic of interest and developed a method of application. In order to
maintain consistency in progress we decided to align areas of interest with strong points of each member of the team. The team agreed that it would be
advantageous to assign specific responsibilities, based on proficiency and technical skills. By defining these areas, the team was able to develop a
practical approach to completing the project. As we follow our vision we need to remember to enable others through support and encouragement,
(Kouzes and Posner, 2012). This is essential in building confidence within the group enhancing the one team one–mission concept, (Kouzes and Posner,
2012). As a group, we identified certain members of the team that demonstrated strong writing skills, which would be essential in developing the
narrative portion of the project. The narrative was divided into three parts to include introduction, body and

During 2004, on December 26, a 9.1 magnitude quake tsunami struck Indonesia and Thailand, according to BBC News. A person by the name of
Richard Lewis, is a son of an American missionary. Richard volunteered to help people in Aceh, Indonesia after the tsunami hit, in the year 2004,
which is where he saw the true events that could happen from a tsunami. Later in life, Richard Lewis wrote the book The Killing Sea and wanted
to demonstrate a powerful message: Enjoy everything you have now, because possibly one day, everything could be taken away. In The Killing
Sea, on page 50, the book stated, "He brushed away the hair and rock back on his heels as Tjut Sari, the beauty of the photo copy shop, stared up at
him, her black eyes no longer flashing." Ruslan thought that Tjut Sari, the photocopy shop girl, was beautiful. In the earlier chapters of the book, it
explains how Ruslan would always try to impress Tjut Sari in any way, even if he was just bringing in papers to copy. Now that the tsunami hit, and
that killed Tjut Sari, Ruslan is never able to express his feelings towards this girl he liked. Ruslan never tried to make conversation with Tjut Sari,
and he will never be able too in life, because she is dead. According to an article, called How Scientists and Victims Watched Helplessly, by Andrew C.

waves or how she got there." Unfortunately, Kalendar Umma lost her memories on the events that have just occurred. If Kalandar had children, or
family members, she will not remember these people that she lived the rest of her life with. Which brings in the message. Later on in life, possibly

The Importance Of Critical Thinking
Critical thinking is a prerequisite to rationality. This means that there must be a problem–solving mechanism that seeks to conclude on the expected
outcomes. As such, critical thinking is tied around finding solutions to a problem. It is important to note that there is a bias towards the end result to
determine whether critical thinking was employed. This makes sense because failing to find a solution to a problem cannot be classified as critical
thinking. As Steven Johnson said in Where Good Ideas Come from, it is important to incorporate critical thinking in a problem–solving process to
ensure that the desired outcome is achieved (Johnson, 2010). He states that good ideas come from chaotic environment, even providing a photo of a...

What is more, critical thinking encompasses the use of various techniques that translate into an exciting process towards problem–solving. As such,
Reiter–Palmon and Illies (2004) emphasize that any problem, when handled creatively, translates into an environment whereby there is engagement,
collaboration, and dialogue in the development of solutions. As a result, when critical thinking is applied effectively, it assists an individual to create
solutions and positive experiences that lead to the development of new ideas. Further, in reference to Reiter–Palmon and Illies (2004), critical thinking
denotes an engaging process that is reliant on the use of various intellectual skills coupled with activities. The activities and intellectual skills are
focused towards the evaluation of information, making assumptions, and sparking a thinking process that is disciplined. Hence, an effective critical
thinking process is noteworthy towards ensuring that an individual can assess information comprehensively. Reiter–Palmon and Illies (2004) further
believe that critical thinking is a necessary part of the creative problem process since it assists in the identification of false ideas that may impede the
creation of solutions to various problems. Critical thinking is equally based on

Review Of Edward E. Jones And Keith E
After reading Edward E. Jones and Keith E. Davis' essay: "From Acts to Dispositions: The Attribution Process in Person Perception", and watching
Dan Gilbert's Ted talks, I came across a few ideas that I've never thought of before, and in addition to that, I acquired new insights from them, most
especially Gilbert's Ted talks. I also found relating themes between Jones and Davis' essay and Gilbert's Ted talk: "The surprising science of happiness"
(2004), "Why we make bad decisions" (2005) and "The psychology of your future self " (2014). The themes or keynote that I think stood out were our
actions as humans, our perceptions, our decisions, and how these things affect us.
Reflection on Dan Gilbert's Ted talks:
Before we watched Gilbert's Ted talks, my expectation was that they were going to be more focused on scientific, or just psychological studies, or
something in that range of thought. However, there were more to the talks than I deemed it would be, because the talks had psychologic aspects to it,
but it was framed around issues, or ideas that I see to be more on the social part of things that we do, and real question: "Why do humans or people
even do this?" To simplify what I mean to say–most of the themes in the talks, to me, seem to be challenging us socially. In other words, it makes us
think about ideas in a whole new way. For example, "The
surprising science of happiness" seems to be targeting our egos as humans. The way Gilbert does that is by bringing up a new

How Teamwork Can Improve Organizational Performance And...
Teamwork is one of the most common policies in businesses; it is one of the ways to be able to effectively do work, delegate it and efficient work
together. The meaning of teamwork is that it is the process of working collaboratively with a group of people in order to achieve a goal faster or

The Effects Of Classroom Talk On The Classroom
In teaching, a large proportion of time is spent in talking and listening. As the major factor in a classroom it should become the main process by
which a pupil learns. After all it is the primary method that humans use to communicate. It leads me to ask how important is it? And does what is
talked about in lessons equate to the quality of learning that is happening in the classroom. On the basis of these questions, Daniels (2001 cited in
Alexander, 2004:8) argues that classroom talk not only mediates teaching and learning but the wider culture. Alexander (2004:9) also indicates that
talk is necessary for 'the building of the brain itself as a physical organism and thereby expanding its power'.
Because talking is not recorded in a book unlike writing, teachers may tend to be less reflective on what is said rather than what is written. For
instance, Alexander (2004:6) points out that it is always written work that is regarded as 'real school work and as the most reliable medium for
measuring pupil's learning'. Barnes (1992:124) also implies that learning is not simply adding bits of information to the previous knowledge. Rather,
most important learning is a matter of 'working on understanding', which can be achieved through talk (ibid).
In an effort to reveal the importance of classroom talk in student learning and their interrelation, I aim to discuss whether student learning is closely
linked to the quality of classroom talk through the foundation subjects of science

Assess The Relationship Between Creative Work And Creativity
The creative industries are steeped in stereotypes and generalisations; it is possible to argue that these assumptions and generalisations have the ability
to impact on creativity and creative work. There are generalizations that exist that state that creatives are intrinsically motivated and managers
extrinsically motivated. Impacts surrounding these generalisations, such as stereotyping, constricting creative inspiration and stress placed on creatives
limiting creative work will be further discussed in this essay. The final argument can be made that in fact these generalisations do not apply to all
creatives and to all management personal, and that it is a process that involves both sides evaluating, and moulding their styles to certain management...

Ryan and Deci (2000) state that if an individual is extrinsically motivated it can reflect a form of external control, such as finances, or stakeholders.
Amabile (1993) further supports this definition by acknowledging that extrinsic motivation can be the intent to control where there is a known reward.
Managers are generally associated with being extrinsically motivated. The divide that is generalised to be present between managers and creatives
through different motivations is supported by the assumption that can be made by management that creatives are kept in their area so they do not stray
too far from their competence zone (Bilton, 2007). This divide unfortunately contributes to a system that is counterproductive by trying to manage the

Rhetorical Analysis Of President George Bush's 9 / 11 Speech
President Bush, shares his view on the matter throughout this speech. Bush's purpose is to try and help Americans not panic during such a terrifying
situation that has changed American history. Since Bush understands what Americans or people in general the world must be feeling, he is able to
address the matter in a calm and collected way. In "Bush's 9/11 speech," the author, President George Bush, uses various rhetorical devices to
reinforce his position on the 9/11 attack. Bush then used the rhetorical device antithesis. He started off talking about the American way of life and
that day itself. The sentence started with the American citizens, and talked about their freedom and their way of life, the sentence then ended with "a
series of deliberate and deadly terrorist acts" (Bush 1). This quote probably relates to the morning of the attack, when Americans were probably going
about their normal day in New York, then all of a sudden the attack happened and change people's lives forever. Bush then explained that the victims
"were in airplanes or in their offices––secretaries, businessmen and women, military and federal workers. Moms and dads. Friends and neighbors"
(Bush 1). They were friends, family members, and they were mostly all Americans and they did not deserve this. Bush addressed the emotions of every
American who were affected due to the events of the 9/11 attacks in these four sentences. Bush addressing this was pretty important because, these
mixed feelings were on everyone's minds. In Bush's speech he talks about 9/11 and he uses some rhetorical devices like ethos to help contribute to the
author's understanding. "these acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat" (Bush 1). This statement had described
the sorrowful moments that not only Americans but the whole world had faced that day. Bush then decided to make this article not so depressing so he
changed the tone from negative to positive. The paragraph that had the first quote concluded with another that the American "country is strong. A great
people has been moved to defend a great nation" (Bush 1). This sentence helped reassure the people that even through tough times we will get through

Cross Curricular Approaches
Introduction
The title of this assignment is managing thinking and learning across the Curriculum. This is important as teachers are responsible for teaching a
diverse range of subjects using creative approaches that raise standards (Ofsted, 2010). This assignment is divided into three main sections. Firstly, this
assignment will evaluate a variety of creative approaches to the teaching of thinking and learning across the Curriculum. Secondly, the advantages and
disadvantages of teaching strategies which can support and enhance the thinking and learning of children in a Year 3 classroom will be analysed. The
third aspect of this assignment will discuss the creation and usage of resources to support the Medium – Term Plan (MTP) which have some ... Show

need children to acquire. Similarly, adopting a cross – curricular approach allows the recognition of several opinions and helps teachers 'to build more

thinking and learning effectively. These strategies can assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons which allow creative outcomes to be
achieved. Further on in this assignment creative approaches will be shared to suggest how they may be used in the classroom alongside a variety of

Childhood Is More Precious Than Childhood Essay
In modern day society nothing is more precious than childhood. It is a time full of innocence, love, light and freedom with little to no worries.
Childhood has not always been described as this, full of hope and dreams and aspirations, the time to just have fun and not to worry about the future, or
wealth. Before the 1800s, childhood was not a thing and children were just seen as miniature adults, with no value, other than to carry on families. It
was not until after the 1800s were childhood become a national phenomenon. Childhood is set to be this time were its all play and no work, where
your parents or guardian is supposed to take care of you, but what about the children that do not have this luxury? Although childhood is a modern day
universal subject recognized, not all children get to live their lives the way they are "meant to". The problem is dormant within certain societies for
many reasons. One is the concept of developed and developing countries and their debt crisis, and another is western and non –Western ideals. With
these battling each other, it is hard to communicate which one is right versus which one is wrong. When it comes to children and work, is it wrong? Is
it ok? Should it be outlawed? Through universal and critical approaches, it will be shown that although child labour is against the UNCRC, it is crucial
for children in some parts of the world to have this active role. Through critical debates child labour would be further developed and questioned

The Correlation Between Media And Politics
If people from the 1800's were asked what the correlation between media and politics was many would think that there was no such thing. Back in
the day people did not have all these advancements we have today. If candidates wanted to get elected they had to be in good terms with the public.
If they wanted the votes they had to convince they were fit for the job. Media is defined as the main mean of communication. Everywhere a person
goes they are bombarded with media. People watch movies, television, read the new paper, blogs and books. Media is all around us. In today's
society everything revolves around technology. It is a good thing and a bad thing all at once. People don't really speak to each other anymore they

I'll probably whip out their phones and snap a quick picture. What happens when people do such thing is that they are creating bias. It is very
difficult to be unbiased and be neutral. For example people on Facebook who do not like a candidate will post a status and go off on how they hate
him or her and provide their own opinion. There are times were the person only goes off of what they heard. People are quick to judge a person why
what they hear or by reading non–scholarly articles. A person has look for flaws in what they are consuming for example put yourself in the other
person position. Seeing if the person is actually trustworthy and they are not spreading lies. The first thing many adults a tell teenagers is that not
everything that they see in the internet is true. In politics today media is being used a lot more in presidential elections. The media has been helpful
regarding getting information further to a greater audience. Although people do not agree with the fact that social media does not play a big role in
today's election just because media doesn't have anything to do with politics. Media is no longer only used for personal

9 / 11 : The Destruction Of The Twin Bombs
9 / 11 was, in no uncertain terms, an inside job. On September 11th, 2001, two planes collided with the twin towers which supposedly was the
catalyst of their destruction. The claimed reason for this destruction was an infernal blaze, which resulted in the complete combustion of the
fortified steel beams. However, did the planes possess the power to bring down the World Trade Federation Towers on their own? After some
further analysis, particularly controversial conclusions may be drawn, through three points: the claimed points of impact being false, jet fuel being
unable to melt steel beams and explosive matter being found in the atmosphere. What the government claimed to have happened to the tower, was
impossible. "Bush did 9 / 11" suggests that the government during the period where George Bush was the president, knew about 9 / 11 and helped
to set explosives inside of the towers. At this point a common question is : "Wouldn't the force of the planes bring down the towers on their own,
regardless of a fire?" According to the United States of America's government, apparently not. This is a common misconception. After carefully
dissecting the video of the fall of the first tower, one could see why so many people think the planes alone would have brought down the twin towers.
On closer inspection, the point where the side of the building explodes, the nose and shadow of the plane clearly do not line up. This shows the plane
was not the initial cause of the collapse of the

praise to democracy, reminding people of its birthplace, Greece. The idea of Democracy, or Demokratia, emerged twenty–five centuries ago giving the
people the right to rule. This speech is also directed towards young adults, and having the freedom to share their ideas and control their lives. Obama is

Additionally, he emphasized the role of democracy in maintaining healthy and practical interactions that arise. He supports that statement, through the

we were able to shut down Iran's nuclear war...With diplomacy, the United States opened relations with Cuba. With diplomacy, we joined Greece and
nearly 200 nations..." He continues, by sharing his faith in democracy that continuously brings political and social stability. He is confident that
progress is possible, although it is earned. Again, he uses parallelism to ease uncertainty saying, "History does not move in a straight line. Civil
rights in America did not move in a straight line. Democracy in Greece did not move in a straight line. The evolution of a unified Europe certainly
has not moved in a straight line." Implementing the system is a considerable challenge in America because it is so often characterized by racial,
religious, and cultural diversity. The flaws of democracy are unarguably evident in Greek society, as politicians are hesitant due to political costs.

Analysis Of George W. Bush
On the evening of September 11, 2001, George W. Bush managed to change the country forever with a simple three letter word. President Bush gained
numerous advantages following his renown speech. Many Americans lost their lives on 911 due to terrorism being used as a form of communication.
Language is the cornerstone of all known societies and is essential for a country to thrive. Without language there is no understanding. Without
understanding conflicts are inevitable. The Bush administration obtained a substantial amount of advantages solely from calling the 911 attacks a
"war". American citizens believed that they were obligated to trust every decision the government made. Primarily because American citizens believed
that it was unpatriotic to disagree with government actions concerning the "war" against a perpetrating country.(Denton 2) Bush and his
administration created a larger margin of error for themselves considering the American citizens most likely would not question any government
decisions pertaining to the "war". President Bush put himself on a high pedestal for a reason. By calling 911 a "war" Bush established the idea of an
unquestionable retaliation. This instilled in Americans that their president would make confident, decisive decisions following a tragedy. Repressing
doubts or concerns from opposing parties as well as persistent naysayers of President Bush. One of the biggest advantages gained from addressing 911
as a "war" was sending a

George W. Bush Is Responsible For The Multiple Attacks On...
The eleventh of september 2001 is a date that american citizens will never forget. On this day a horrific event that affected the lives of many, if not all,
united states citizens resulting in about 3,000 deaths and numerous injuries took place. After the devastating attacks on this nation, people 's cry for
truth and justice was heard loud and clear by the president of that time. Yet in response he perceived destroying valuable evidence as giving the truth,
plus, a devastating–pointless war with Iraq as Justice. These are just a few things president George Bush did to hide the fabrications in his story about
the air attacks on the tallest buildings in the world. However, as we find out more about that day, and uncover more of his lies, we can only draw one
conclusion. Americas very own forty–third president, George W Bush is responsible for the multiple attacks on september eleventh. George Bush
had prior knowledge about the attacks. September eleventh 2001 was just a secret operation in which the government pretended to be a victim of a
premeditated self attack on their own people to justify going to war with a falsely accused enemy. Such a deceitful operation is most popularly
known as False flag terrorism but to get away with an operation this grand the ability of emergency responders would have to be impaired. On the day

Political Leadership And The President Of The United...
Introduction There is a mind–boggling question that has been floating around the American people here lately. And the question is, "What are the
qualifications to construct a good political leader?" When you think about this, other careers such as law enforcement, health professionals, educators,
and even city transit drivers all have a more clear–cut job depiction on how to be successful in that career, but when it comes to the criteria for political
leadership, one will find a vague description on how and what to do, and the various loop holes in certain areas in politics. So this creates an even
more challenging task for people to define if a political leader is good or bad; and could possibly create a divide across the nation. I personally feel that
it would be a phenomenal notion to observe Mr. Barack Hussein Obama II, our 44th President of The United States of America, without having any
biased views or opinions, to analyze the pros and cons of his 2 terms as our political leader and commander in Chief. I would say that he is a strong
transformational leader hands down just by assessing his years in congress and his 2 terms as president. I can personally say that because I have a lot
of areas under his leadership that I agree with, and there some other areas that I do not agree with when viewing some of his viewpoints. One
accomplishment has gone unnoticed but is commendable. That 's Obama 's flawless personal record. President Barack Obama has served longer than any

Expository Teaching
Highly abstract concepts, such as jurisprudence and sovereignty, oftentimes cause high school students much struggle when trying to thoroughly
understand such conceptual ideas. To teach these theoretical concepts, one must not only equivalently utilize David Ausubel's Expository teaching
model, but also retain an overall knowledge of other valuable strategies related to Ausubels's model (Woolfolk, 2004, p. 281). To Ausubel, the most
significant idea is that of the advance organizer, a statement of introduction that aids students in organizing the information about to be presented. Also
to a teacher's benefit are the ideas needed to form a concept, such as exemplars, defining features, irrelevant features, non–examples, and prototypes. ...

Reviewing material introduced in question and answer format is an efficient way to connect the information back to the advance organizer.
Sovereignty also has a core meaning, "supreme authority within a territory". In other words, the holder of sovereignty is superior to all authorities
under its purview (plato.stanford.edu). The advance organizer for sovereignty might include a comparison of different types of "supreme" authorities.
One might ask questions such as, "Is high school an example of sovereignty?", or "Is your family an example of sovereignty?" A discussion of other
countries, historically and today, would also help expand this idea. Discussing the prototype of each idea will help in relating the content covered back
to the advance organizer. While using expository teaching to present a concept, one would start with an advance organizer. A comparative organizer,
which compares old and new information, would aid in beginning a lesson dealing with the concept of mammals (Woolfolk, 2004, p. 281). The lesson
could begin with a statement or diagram that connects several different mammals and deals with comparing and contrasting their relationship. A
teacher would continue by naming and defining the concept, and producing exemplars, or actual instances. Mammals can be defined as various
"warm–blooded vertebrate animals of the class Mammalia, including humans, characterized by a covering of hair on the skin, and in the

What Is The Purpose Of Shifting Speech Patterns In...
Introduction Throughout the course of political campaigns, candidates travel throughout a set district in order to gain the support of various
constituents. In doing so, speech patterns may be dependent upon the audience being addresses and by how concerned a candidate is with winning that
group's approval. Such changes unconsciously manifest, while others could be deliberate alterations to one's speech. For this project, I would be
examining this idea by analyzing modern political campaign tactics and speeches; particularly, President Barack Obama would be the focal point of my
analysis. President Barack Obama emerged as a charismatic figure of the American political scene. In 2004, then Senator Obama delivered a hopeful
message during ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through in–depth analysis of his political career, an answer will manifest. If so, are these changes voluntary or involuntary? In addition, the
purpose of shifting speech patterns will be investigated. For answering the first question, my data, a collection of speeches made by President
Barack Obama, will allow me to analyze how a national politician may speak when going across the country. Analysis would involve deep looks
into the speeches and transcribing of speech patterns. Such patterns may include changes in tone and pitch, hand gestures, selective vocabulary, etc.
These processes are similar across the board as all of these questions would require the same looks into my data. To hypothesize, based on previous
work in this course, I believe that the results will show a deliberate change of speech with Barack Obama's speeches. In order to gain votes from the
people, one must pretend to be among the people.
Significance
Politicians compete every year for some level of power and authority. Voters grant such authority through a democratic system of elections. Simply,
elections are popularity contest as voters look for the person who embodies the values they hold dear. Therefore, a politician fights to earn every vote
which he/she possibly can. One of the most distinct ways to make connect with people is to speak the region's common language, whether that be a
dialect or entirely different language than before. This idea leaves

  • 3. The Basic Principles Of Design Thinking Problem Solving... 1.0) Introduction The case provided presents a wide variety of problems, which is reflective of their developing economy; that of recent, has finally been ruled by a civilian government rather than a military dictatorship. The following problems in chronological order, are witnessed by Bill first–hand, as he looks for business opportunities for an investment bank, whilst considering his personal objectives. 2.0) Literature Review Through understanding the design thinking problem solving methodology we can develop Idea generation and problem solving techniques to understand the necessary processes of good design conceptualisation. Brown has defined design thinking as "designer's sensibility and methods to match people's needs with what is technologically feasible and what a viable business strategy can convert into customer value and market opportunity" (Brown, 2008, p. 2). The purpose of this literature review is to examine and explain the basic principles of Design Thinking problem solving methodology. This literature review will also define design thinking and explain why it is essential in idea generation and problem solving. It will specifically explore the design thinking five key processes empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test (Stanford d.school, 2011). Using these five key process can allow for designers to conceptualise their work in a way which enhances their creative capabilities (Brown, 2009). • 4. Dada's Contribution to Contemporary Art Dada and its impact on Contemporary Art According to the Oxford Dictionary of art, Dada was "A movement in European art (with manifestations also in New York), c.1915–c.1922, characterized by a spirit of rebellious revolt against traditional values. It arose from a mood of cynicism engendered by the First World War, to which some artists reacted with, cynicism, sarcasm and nihilism." Gathering in Hugo Balls' Cabaret Voltaire for spontaneous readings, performances and exhibitions, a group of early avant–gardes mainly of German and French origin, formed the organization known as Dada. (Justin Wolf's Dada) Numerous explanations were given for the group's name, Dada, which in French means Hobby Horse. The most... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. The Social Construction Of Leisure Social construction of leisure is a very important concept to understand before you can understand how life goes on. Leisure can be defined as, the experience of living a moment of positive self–expression (Pavelka, 2000). In order to be in full leisure mode, individuals have to be able to be in the moment with the task that they accomplish, as well as experience something positive for that task. Lastly, the individuals should always touch upon their self–image and how they are able to accomplish becoming who they want to be. Five key concepts that stood out in this course would be, being in the moment, slowing down, mental health, positive stress and leisure. Being in the moment is a key component of the social construction of leisure. Leisure cannot be experienced in the present if the mind is racing through the past or future (Pavelka, 2000, 50). In order to experience leisure an individual must stop thinking about their past and how it affected them negatively but at the same time that individual has to stop thinking about the future. Thinking about the future can negatively affect the person that you want to become. Moreover, individuals need to be in a state of freedom flow so that they are not analyzing every possible moment. Being in that state of free flow allows individuals the opportunity to be in the moment and enjoy everything that is around them. When our thinking is in the moment, it is responsive to whatever is happening or needed at the time (Carlson & ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Now that I look back, during those times I was pretending to write on a whiteboard and scolding students for not doing homework, I was learning how to cope with real issues of everyday life. The fake world that kids make up are influenced by their own world around them. They are taught how to behave and what to understand by their caregivers, teachers, friends, and even strangers around them. As they acquire new knowledge, they begin to mimic what those people do in their times of play. As for me and my sisters, we often taught our "class" what our own teachers had in their lesson plans that day, as well as providing similar discipline. As the time passed along when we were playing our game, my sisters and I unknowingly built individual personalities and goals that fueled the way we viewed our lives. Similarly to how playtime incorporates the idea of school, the actual school systems utilize the fundamentals of playing in their curriculum, in order to stimulate the fresh minds of the youth. According to the publication Rethinking Play and Pedagogy in Early Childhood Education, teachers are combining the skills they teach to the children with the normal behaviors of imagination and fun. They find that playing occurred when children worked "in small groups," because they "were engaged in active games," while "working with educational toys," ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Key Ideas Presented By Poata Smith ( 2004 ) And... Responsive Reading Assignment – Sociology 101 The purpose of this essay is to discuss the key ideas presented in the two articles written by Poata–Smith (2004) and Richard Pringle (2007) and to explore how these key ideas link to the central themes and discourses introduced throughout the duration of the course so far. In sight of the word limitations, this essay will attempt to cover fewer key ideas highlighted within these texts, but in much more detail. Some key ideas addressed in this essay include neo–liberalism, class inequalities, biculturalism, and in part two hegemonic masculinities, gender order and negative male identities. At the conclusion of this discussion, I will take the opportunity to reflect on my personal engagement with the two texts. Evan Poata–Smith (2004) – Maori Protest Politics and the Waitangi Settlement Process In his article, Poata–Smith (2004) acknowledges that the Crown alongside the New Zealand Government, although not responsible for the actions of its predecessors, has taken steps to accept its obligations to the Treaty of Waitangiand to the Maori people and to recognise breaches of the treaty principles that it has made (p.59). The New Zealand Government, in its attempt to settle past treaty grievances surrounding wrongful confiscation of land has divided Maori society in two: a division between the Maori working class and the smaller Maori elite. • 10. Comparing Milton's Views On Oakley And Milton Oakley and Milton highlighted the theological origins of the concept not from the old tradition of the Ancient Testament, as it was originally argued by Zilsel and Needham, but from the specific conceptions held by Scotus and Ockham, reworked and widely accepted in the seventeenth century. Whilst these studies turned the spotlight on a fundamental tradition disregarded or rejected by the previous works, they still cannot explain how a theological idea, clearly shaped four centuries before the emergence of modern science, became so dominant during the seventeenth century. In Henry's view, Oakley and Milton cannot answer why the appeal to laws of nature took place in the seventeenth century and not before, bearing in mind that the conceptual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She recognises the provisional character of her research, because a complete work would require "other means". In fact, her final remarks are closer to advise for further researches than to substantive conclusions. For example, she claims that laws of nature shouldn't be understood as a defined concept; all further study should take as its starting point the ambiguities implied in the spreading of such a metaphorical, varied word. In her view, talking about a defined concept of law would amount to talk of a well–delimited conception of physics (Roux, 2001, pp. 569–572). Because of this, Zilsel and Oakley's solution, in her balance, fail to offer a proper answer because capitalism and theological voluntarism are "extremely general to be effectively true". In other words, the solutions offered only point to specific parts of the amalgamation to which she has pointed. However, Roux's long paper still conceals the connections of the emergence of the laws of nature with the raising of modern science. In truth, both terminological approaches and historical studies tracing the origins of a defined concept fail in their intention to offer a detailed historical explanation of the way in which laws were involved in the origins of modern science. As valuable and necessary as the collection of uses of the word laws can be, they fail to explain how laws were related (and contributed) to the most basic but characteristics historical phenomena associated to the scientific revolution: the raising of mechanism, the recovery of ancient atomism, the redefinition of disciplinary boundaries, the growing and rapid development of mathematics, the achievements in dynamics, astronomy and optics, among others. In other words, if the study of laws of nature is not connected to the historical phenomena on which they seem to rely, we are still far from appreciating their full significance in the origins of modern science. • 12. The Pros And Cons Of Burqas In France of 2010, the French Parliament banned women from wearing burqas in public. French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, said "the burqa is not a religious issue... It is a question of freedom and women's dignity." When you look at someone the first thing you see is their face and the face is something you remember about somebody. French officials think it is not right for women to walk around with their faces covered up. Everyone has different perspectives of different religions and it is not right for people to judge other religions and say what other religions should and should not wear but there are other things religions can do instead of hiding their faces. On September 24, 2003, Germany's federal constitutional court rules in favour of an Afghan–born teacher who wants to wear an Islamic scarf to school. Germany banned all teachers from wearing headscarves to school. Germany started banning headscarves at first which led to banning headscarves and burqas in the future. On February 3, 2004, France's national assembly began debating a bill to ban religious symbols, including Muslim headscarves. In European countries, they all started banning headscarves. Burqas were not that much of a problem then until their headscarves were getting banned then burqas started getting banned. Women wore burqas from 2010 to 2017. • 13. George W Bush Speech Summary Speech Analysis: George W. Bush– Address to the Nation. The morning of September 11th, 2001, four attacks within the United States left our nation in complete shock. According to the Final Report of the National Commission, "More than 2,600 people died at the World Trade Center; 125 died at the Pentagon; 256 died on the four planes. The death toll surpassed that at Pearl Harbor in December 1941." Although, I was only two years old, 9/11 had a huge impact on my childhood and is a defining moment of my generation. President during this time was George W. Bush. As his duty, President Bush had to give a speech to a nation that was terrified. That speech was dedicated to every American suffering loss, fear, and despair. Rhetoric used in a speech gives the speaker logical, ethical, or emotional appeal. President Bush does a great job grasping all the uses of rhetoric in his speech. Readers, or in this case, viewers like to have a little more than just emotion and ethical point of views. President Bush used this distinct example of logos in his speech: Our military is powerful, and it's prepared. Our emergency teams are working in New York City and Washington D.C. to help with local rescue efforts. Our first priority is to get help to those who have been injured, and to take every precaution to protect our citizens at home and around the world from further attacks. Intellectual Progress Of Mankind By Martin Luther King Jr. Intellectual Progress of Mankind "Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable...every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals" – Martin Luther King, Jr. Intellectual progress of mankind is the progression towards discovering the questions about curiosity on why something is what it is or what makes something work the way that it does. The discovery of which we make on defining, proving, and supporting scientific and theoretical issues is a reflection of how far we have come on particular issues of study. this can be defined as changes that take place as a result of growth in the thinking of mankind resulting from one's capability to think, experience, reasoning judgement and ability to conceptualize. This helps humankind to progress in different aspects of life and make advancements on daily basis in relation to his life. Three main subject leads toward Intellectual Progress of mankind, philosophies, ideologies, and theories which this paper examines as related themes that often intersect in educational ideas (Gutek, 2004). Philosophy falls somewhere between the arts and sciences. On the one hand, it offers idiosyncratic worldviews that may be too disparate to compare. It is not surprising, then, that the question "Is philosophy progressive?" is hardly ever raised. From one viewpoint, it offers quirky perspectives that might be excessively unique, making ... • 15. Rhetorical Analysis Of George Bush 9 / 11 Rhetorical Analysis of George W. Bush 9/11 Address to the Nation One of the most detrimental and traumatic events of United States history involves the terrorist attacks on the day of September 11th, in 2001. September 11th is a day countless Americans will never forget. Because our nation encountered such a horrific attack, it was up to our president during the time, President George W. Bush, to address the country. Many Americans suffered loss and fear; therefore, former President George Bush's goal was to heal and comfort the nation by persuading them to see the light within the darkness. Bush's speech was a success because he showed America's togetherness and solidarity by creating an emotional connection to the audience; moreover, by responding appropriately to the attacks, he presented himself with a leadership and role no one else could take. When Bush addressed the nation, he had to assure the American people of their country's strength, which would undoubtedly triumph through this unthinkable misfortune. George W. Bush states, "These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed. Our country is strong (Eidenmuller)." This shows how Bush is trying to create an emotional connection to the audience by instilling in Americans that our country must remain unified and strong during this time of terror. Bush also states, "These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve (Eidenmuller). This statement testifies that our country cannot be broken, and our country will prevail. About one–in–five Americans cite the country's response to the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, as the time in their lives when they felt most proud of their country (Gramlich). This indicates just how powerful our country can be if everyone works together. The terrorist attacks on the United States will forever be burned into the memories of Americans. That being the case, Bush's attempt at creating an emotional connection to the audience was successful because he brought the country together with words of strength. Bush was not only successful with creating an emotional connection with the audience, but he also showed Americans the realness of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. The Mandate For Parental Policipation In IDEA 2004 Explain the mandate for parental participation in IDEA 2004. IDEA 2004 states that parents must be included in the evaluation and IEP processes. In addition, they must be notified and provide approval for any assessments and/or evaluations involving their child. In fact, the school must have "informed consent" before any testing or evaluations can take place. This "informed consent" means the parents understand the processes and procedures used by the school to ascertain the best way to assist their child. Additionally, this permission must be provided verbally or in writing in the language the parent or guardian understands. Even with "informed consent", a parent may still refuse a special education placement if this is the decision of the IEP team. Furthermore, parents must provide their authorization before any information regarding their child is released to third parties such as doctors, outside counselors or psychologists who may be working with their student. Also, parents have the right to refuse to have their child evaluated. In this case, the school has a legal procedure to follow to determine if they have the right to test this student without parental permission. The school must follow these legal guidelines if they want to evaluate a student. If a parent still has their parental rights, but they can not be found, the school is not allowed to evaluate. This is an example of how important a parent's rights are in the IDEA 2004 law. In essence, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ruslan thought that Tjut Sari, the photocopy shop girl, was beautiful. In the earlier chapters of the book, it explains how Ruslan would always try to impress Tjut Sari in any way, even if he was just bringing in papers to copy. Now that the tsunami hit, and that killed Tjut Sari, Ruslan is never able to express his feelings towards this girl he liked. Ruslan never tried to make conversation with Tjut Sari, and he will never be able too in life, because she is dead. This means that there must be a problem–solving mechanism that seeks to conclude on the expected outcomes. As such, critical thinking is tied around finding solutions to a problem. It is important to note that there is a bias towards the end result to determine whether critical thinking was employed. This makes sense because failing to find a solution to a problem cannot be classified as critical thinking. Davis' essay: "From Acts to Dispositions: The Attribution Process in Person Perception", and watching Dan Gilbert's Ted talks, I came across a few ideas that I've never thought of before, and in addition to that, I acquired new insights from them, most especially Gilbert's Ted talks. I also found relating themes between Jones and Davis' essay and Gilbert's Ted talk: "The surprising science of happiness" (2004), "Why we make bad decisions" (2005) and "The psychology of your future self " (2014). The themes or keynote that I think stood out were our actions as humans, our perceptions, our decisions, and how these things affect us. Reflection on Dan Gilbert's Ted talks: Before we watched Gilbert's Ted talks, my expectation was that they were going to be more focused on scientific, or just psychological studies, or something in that range of thought. However, there were more to the talks than I deemed it would be, because the talks had psychologic aspects to it, but it was framed around issues, or ideas that I see to be more on the social part of things that we do, and real question: "Why do humans or people even do this?" To simplify what I mean to say–most of the themes in the talks, to me, seem to be challenging us socially. In other words, it makes us think about ideas in a whole new way. • 25. The Effects Of Classroom Talk On The Classroom In teaching, a large proportion of time is spent in talking and listening. As the major factor in a classroom it should become the main process by which a pupil learns. After all it is the primary method that humans use to communicate. It leads me to ask how important is it? And does what is talked about in lessons equate to the quality of learning that is happening in the classroom. On the basis of these questions, Daniels (2001 cited in Alexander, 2004:8) argues that classroom talk not only mediates teaching and learning but the wider culture. Alexander (2004:9) also indicates that talk is necessary for 'the building of the brain itself as a physical organism and thereby expanding its power'. Because talking is not recorded in a book unlike writing, teachers may tend to be less reflective on what is said rather than what is written. For instance, Alexander (2004:6) points out that it is always written work that is regarded as 'real school work and as the most reliable medium for measuring pupil's learning'. Barnes (1992:124) also implies that learning is not simply adding bits of information to the previous knowledge. Rather, most important learning is a matter of 'working on understanding', which can be achieved through talk (ibid). In an effort to reveal the importance of classroom talk in student learning and their interrelation, I aim to discuss whether student learning is closely linked to the quality of classroom talk through the foundation subjects of science ... Managers are generally associated with being extrinsically motivated. The divide that is generalised to be present between managers and creatives through different motivations is supported by the assumption that can be made by management that creatives are kept in their area so they do not stray too far from their competence zone (Bilton, 2007). Bush's purpose is to try and help Americans not panic during such a terrifying situation that has changed American history. Since Bush understands what Americans or people in general the world must be feeling, he is able to address the matter in a calm and collected way. In "Bush's 9/11 speech," the author, President George Bush, uses various rhetorical devices to reinforce his position on the 9/11 attack. Bush then used the rhetorical device antithesis. He started off talking about the American way of life and that day itself. The sentence started with the American citizens, and talked about their freedom and their way of life, the sentence then ended with "a series of deliberate and deadly terrorist acts" (Bush 1). This quote probably relates to the morning of the attack, when Americans were probably going about their normal day in New York, then all of a sudden the attack happened and change people's lives forever. Bush then explained that the victims "were in airplanes or in their offices––secretaries, businessmen and women, military and federal workers. Moms and dads. Friends and neighbors" (Bush 1). They were friends, family members, and they were mostly all Americans and they did not deserve this. Bush addressed the emotions of every American who were affected due to the events of the 9/11 attacks in these four sentences. Bush addressing this was pretty important because, these mixed feelings were on everyone's minds. In Bush's speech he talks about 9/11 and he uses some rhetorical devices like ethos to help contribute to the author's understanding. "these acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat" (Bush 1). This statement had described the sorrowful moments that not only Americans but the whole world had faced that day. Bush then decided to make this article not so depressing so he changed the tone from negative to positive. It is a time full of innocence, love, light and freedom with little to no worries. Childhood has not always been described as this, full of hope and dreams and aspirations, the time to just have fun and not to worry about the future, or wealth. Before the 1800s, childhood was not a thing and children were just seen as miniature adults, with no value, other than to carry on families. It was not until after the 1800s were childhood become a national phenomenon. Although childhood is a modern day universal subject recognized, not all children get to live their lives the way they are "meant to". On September 11th, 2001, two planes collided with the twin towers which supposedly was the catalyst of their destruction. The claimed reason for this destruction was an infernal blaze, which resulted in the complete combustion of the fortified steel beams. However, did the planes possess the power to bring down the World Trade Federation Towers on their own? After some further analysis, particularly controversial conclusions may be drawn, through three points: the claimed points of impact being false, jet fuel being unable to melt steel beams and explosive matter being found in the atmosphere. What the government claimed to have happened to the tower, was impossible. "Bush did 9 / 11" suggests that the government during the period where George Bush was the president, knew about 9 / 11 and helped to set explosives inside of the towers. At this point a common question is : "Wouldn't the force of the planes bring down the towers on their own, regardless of a fire?" According to the United States of America's government, apparently not. This is a common misconception. After carefully dissecting the video of the fall of the first tower, one could see why so many people think the planes alone would have brought down the twin towers. Democracy in Greece did not move in a straight line. The evolution of a unified Europe certainly has not moved in a straight line." • 34. Analysis Of George W. Bush On the evening of September 11, 2001, George W. Bush managed to change the country forever with a simple three letter word. President Bush gained numerous advantages following his renown speech. Many Americans lost their lives on 911 due to terrorism being used as a form of communication. Language is the cornerstone of all known societies and is essential for a country to thrive. Without language there is no understanding. Without understanding conflicts are inevitable. The Bush administration obtained a substantial amount of advantages solely from calling the 911 attacks a "war". American citizens believed that they were obligated to trust every decision the government made. Primarily because American citizens believed that it was unpatriotic to disagree with government actions concerning the "war" against a perpetrating country.(Denton 2) Bush and his administration created a larger margin of error for themselves considering the American citizens most likely would not question any government decisions pertaining to the "war". President Bush put himself on a high pedestal for a reason. By calling 911 a "war" Bush established the idea of an unquestionable retaliation. This instilled in Americans that their president would make confident, decisive decisions following a tragedy. Repressing doubts or concerns from opposing parties as well as persistent naysayers of President Bush. One of the biggest advantages gained from addressing 911 as a "war" was sending a ... If an employee has a great idea and it is brought up in a meeting, I will make sure to mention that employee by name so they get the credit for that idea. I care strongly about the success of others when it is deserved and earned. I cooperate with others and find a solution for conflicts that benefits everyone involved. The seventh category, "Seek First to Understand", also scored "very good" at 13 point. Transformational leaders promote a workplace in which employees can develop intelligence and rational thinking. This stimulation aids independent problem solving by employees (Choi, S. L., Goh, C. This unfortunately does not give enough time or resources to involve all of the key personnel such as the engineering technicians. They are the heart of the project after the design phase and should be given the opportunity to have more intellectual stimulation than is allowed by the time constraints. • 37. George W. Bush Is Responsible For The Multiple Attacks On... The eleventh of september 2001 is a date that american citizens will never forget. On this day a horrific event that affected the lives of many, if not all, united states citizens resulting in about 3,000 deaths and numerous injuries took place. After the devastating attacks on this nation, people 's cry for truth and justice was heard loud and clear by the president of that time. Yet in response he perceived destroying valuable evidence as giving the truth, plus, a devastating–pointless war with Iraq as Justice. These are just a few things president George Bush did to hide the fabrications in his story about the air attacks on the tallest buildings in the world. However, as we find out more about that day, and uncover more of his lies, we can only draw one conclusion. Americas very own forty–third president, George W Bush is responsible for the multiple attacks on september eleventh. George Bush had prior knowledge about the attacks. September eleventh 2001 was just a secret operation in which the government pretended to be a victim of a premeditated self attack on their own people to justify going to war with a falsely accused enemy. Such a deceitful operation is most popularly known as False flag terrorism but to get away with an operation this grand the ability of emergency responders would have to be impaired. On the day of nine–eleven there were multiple war games being administrated by many United States defense agencies. The games involved a simulation of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Political Leadership And The President Of The United... Introduction There is a mind–boggling question that has been floating around the American people here lately. And the question is, "What are the qualifications to construct a good political leader?" When you think about this, other careers such as law enforcement, health professionals, educators, and even city transit drivers all have a more clear–cut job depiction on how to be successful in that career, but when it comes to the criteria for political leadership, one will find a vague description on how and what to do, and the various loop holes in certain areas in politics. So this creates an even more challenging task for people to define if a political leader is good or bad; and could possibly create a divide across the nation. I personally feel that it would be a phenomenal notion to observe Mr. Barack Hussein Obama II, our 44th President of The United States of America, without having any biased views or opinions, to analyze the pros and cons of his 2 terms as our political leader and commander in Chief. I would say that he is a strong transformational leader hands down just by assessing his years in congress and his 2 terms as president. I can personally say that because I have a lot of areas under his leadership that I agree with, and there some other areas that I do not agree with when viewing some of his viewpoints. One accomplishment has gone unnoticed but is commendable. That 's Obama 's flawless personal record. President Barack Obama has served longer than any ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Expository Teaching Highly abstract concepts, such as jurisprudence and sovereignty, oftentimes cause high school students much struggle when trying to thoroughly understand such conceptual ideas. To teach these theoretical concepts, one must not only equivalently utilize David Ausubel's Expository teaching model, but also retain an overall knowledge of other valuable strategies related to Ausubels's model (Woolfolk, 2004, p. 281). To Ausubel, the most significant idea is that of the advance organizer, a statement of introduction that aids students in organizing the information about to be presented. Also to a teacher's benefit are the ideas needed to form a concept, such as exemplars, defining features, irrelevant features, non–examples, and prototypes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reviewing material introduced in question and answer format is an efficient way to connect the information back to the advance organizer. Sovereignty also has a core meaning, "supreme authority within a territory". In other words, the holder of sovereignty is superior to all authorities under its purview (plato.stanford.edu). The advance organizer for sovereignty might include a comparison of different types of "supreme" authorities. One might ask questions such as, "Is high school an example of sovereignty?", or "Is your family an example of sovereignty?" A discussion of other countries, historically and today, would also help expand this idea. Discussing the prototype of each idea will help in relating the content covered back to the advance organizer. While using expository teaching to present a concept, one would start with an advance organizer. A comparative organizer, which compares old and new information, would aid in beginning a lesson dealing with the concept of mammals (Woolfolk, 2004, p. 281). The lesson could begin with a statement or diagram that connects several different mammals and deals with comparing and contrasting their relationship. A teacher would continue by naming and defining the concept, and producing exemplars, or actual instances. Mammals can be defined as various "warm–blooded vertebrate animals of the class Mammalia, including humans, characterized by a covering of hair on the skin, and in the ... • 40. What Is The Purpose Of Shifting Speech Patterns In... Introduction Throughout the course of political campaigns, candidates travel throughout a set district in order to gain the support of various constituents. In doing so, speech patterns may be dependent upon the audience being addresses and by how concerned a candidate is with winning that group's approval. Such changes unconsciously manifest, while others could be deliberate alterations to one's speech. For this project, I would be examining this idea by analyzing modern political campaign tactics and speeches; particularly, President Barack Obama would be the focal point of my analysis. President Barack Obama emerged as a charismatic figure of the American political scene. In 2004, then Senator Obama delivered a hopeful message during ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through in–depth analysis of his political career, an answer will manifest. If so, are these changes voluntary or involuntary? In addition, the purpose of shifting speech patterns will be investigated. For answering the first question, my data, a collection of speeches made by President Barack Obama, will allow me to analyze how a national politician may speak when going across the country. Analysis would involve deep looks into the speeches and transcribing of speech patterns. Such patterns may include changes in tone and pitch, hand gestures, selective vocabulary, etc. These processes are similar across the board as all of these questions would require the same looks into my data. To hypothesize, based on previous work in this course, I believe that the results will show a deliberate change of speech with Barack Obama's speeches. In order to gain votes from the people, one must pretend to be among the people. Significance Politicians compete every year for some level of power and authority. Voters grant such authority through a democratic system of elections. Simply, elections are popularity contest as voters look for the person who embodies the values they hold dear. Therefore, a politician fights to earn every vote which he/she possibly can. One of the most distinct ways to make connect with people is to speak the region's common language, whether that be a dialect or entirely different language than before. This idea leaves ...
