THE MARITIME WALK
through Cabanyal and Malvarrosa to Patacona
This is where we walked back after the expeditions with the
grandfather. I'd rather go through the sand, but Grandpa gets tired
of walking around right away. So we go along the Paseo, and I go
along the footbridge that separates the Paseo and the beach.
Sometimes we get to Patacona, we have an ice cream at the
L'Obrador horchatería and we see the surfers on the shore.

THE ICE FACTORY
C/ de Pavia, 37 http://www.lafabricadehielo.net/
What in the last century was a factory that supplied ice to fishermen
and fishmongers, today has become a new cultural and leisure space
where many different activities are organized: from concerts to
dance, literature, painting workshops, etc. Just a stone's throw from
the beach, it's worth taking a look at its programming and browsing
around.

I have come here to several assemblies of the “Salvem El Cabanyal”
Platform. This neighborhood association was created almost 20 years
ago to defend the heritage of the neighborhood against an urban
project that sought to demolish some 1,600 houses to build an avenue.
Although the project will no longer be carried out, they continue to meet
weekly to claim its rehabilitation.

LA MARINA
Dock of Valencia https://www.lamarinadevalencia.com/
The Marina is the historic dock of Valencia, and has gone through
many changes, the America's Cup of Sailing was organized here twice
and even a Formula 1 award. Today it is being transformed into a
center of technological innovation, where in addition to many
companies settle, there is a wide range of leisure: nautical activities,
concerts, restaurants... and always with the sea present. Highly
recommended!
CABANYAL AND MALVARROSA BEACHES
In summer people comes almost every day to the beach. Whenever
there is a bit of wind, there is someone flying kites, but not as many
people as in spring. Then the beach is filled with people from
everywhere to fly the "cachirulo", because it is the Festival of the
Wind. At night people go to the beach to have dinner under the
moonlight

You can admire the neighborhood of Cabanyal, unique
architecture with small and colorful modernist style
houses; and will have something on a terrace of the local
outliers nearby, have an artistic-cultural tertulia and enjoy
the sunset of Valencia.
