2. CAMERA
Camera quality has increased over the last twenty years. Camera’s have changed from
analogue to digital. It has changed to HD, whereas films are now in 1080p. The shutter speed has
increased therefore you can get more frames per second which produces a more crisp and
smooth image.
The features of the camera has changed so you can zoom better, and also add effects directly
from the camera such as negative.
Different camera lenses have been developed which enables cameras to film in different ways
such as increased zoom or wide angle lense. Due to the change in lenses you can now adjust the
aperture level of the camera which enables more or less light to be received.
Video aspect ratios have changed from 4:3 to a more modern widescreen 16:9 which
produces a larger image.
3. VISUAL EFFECTS
The first Tron film introduced CGI. They have
been greatly improved in film such as Avatar. This is
due to the improvement of computer technology.
You can now access visual effects through software
such as After Effects, which is also used by
professional film producers.
4. 3D
Stereoscopy is a film technique for creating the illusion of the
image coming out of the screen. It is most commonly known as 3D.
3D was introduced and marketed but was a big failure, it was then
re-introduced.
The film Avatar is an example of stereoscopy.
