In January 2005, Dr. Tod Burnett became vice chancellor of the California
Community College system, the world’s largest system of higher education, with
112 colleges serving more than 2.5 million students. In 2008, he was appointed
president of Saddleback College, one of the top institutions in California for
transfer and career technical education.

Dr. Burnett, who has served employers in the public and private sectors with
distinction, earned his MBA from the University of Southern California and his
doctor of education from the Graduate School of Education and Psychology at
Pepperdine University. Dr . Burnett was named a distinguished alumnus by
Pepperdine and received the Public Service Alumni Award from his undergraduate
alma mater at the University of California, Riverside.
