Significant Events of Life
Significant Event The significant event of my life is about suicide attempt of my neighbour. It is few years old story when I and he were class
mates and used to go to school together. It was the result day of 9th grade when he came across the news of his failure. I am not much sure about
the details of the event as it is an old event and the panic created at that moment did not enable me to note the details. He and I had gone to school
together and came across few other class mates before reaching the notice board to see the result. My neighbour was a sensitive boy. The class
mates gave us the news of his failure, he was extremely shocked and in the same condition, he jumped from the 3rd floor window of the school. He
died at the spot. The news of his suicide attempt was a shock for all who had made a joke of his failure. He had scored shining marks while the
class mates were enjoying his sensitivity. This event placed unforgettable impact upon my personality and I gave up cracking any jokes with
anybody. The wounded face and blood at the road is still clear in my mind and whenever I think of joke, I feel terribly shaken. We all were in much
stress after this incident and it was really difficult to console the ones who had made this joke. Few students were blaming them for this cruel act
while others few were of the view that my neighbour should not have committed suicide right away without even looking the notice board himself. He
was a close friend of mine and his sad

Essay On Change A Significant Event
If one could possibly go back and change a significant event, what would it be? Is there anyone out their who can honestly say they have no
regrets. Personally, I don't think there is, everyone makes mistakes and sometimes they can be so drastic that one just wants to start over. Although I
have a couple regrets, I love myself all in all. If I could I would change just a few things because I believe your mistakes makes a person who they
are. I regret a couple of things, one being the fact that I didn't get a job earlier. Also, I regret letting my mother influence me on the current situation I
am in now. Lastly, I regret being born but not in the way that one would think.
During high school, I wasn't really as focused as I should have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She would've had nothing to be so disappointed in.
Lastly, I regret being born and it's not what one may think. Sometimes, I am suicidal and depressed but it's a bigger picture here. Does one ever think
something would have been better if one would have never gone? I tend to think if my mother never had me, she wouldn't be struggling and stuck like
she is now. When my mother had me, she was naГЇve. Really, she was just a kid too, barely turning seventeen. She never got to live life like everyone
else and had to grow up fast. That woman was basically on her own. Of course, she had the help of my grandma and uncle but she was in a way
shoved out that door and it never opened back up. If I was never born my mother would have a lot more opportunites. She would have been able to
focus herself and been a lot more successful. Instead of trying to make a way for five kids and an overgrown man–child, she would have the
appreciation and love for herself as mother, child, and wife. Maybe she wouldn't have had the disappointment she has in me and I wouldn't carry the
burden I have on my back.
For the most part, I love myself through all the mistakes I have made. In fact, if I could go back and change some things I would probably wouldn't.
I do believe every mistake shapes a person and the person they may become. I feel if I could change these things I wouldn't really be the person I am
today.

Significant Events And People In American History
I have learned many interesting topics, events, and people in American History such as the Teapot Dome, Warren G. Harden, the 19th amendment,
prohibition, assembly line, and many more. The event that caught my attention to write about it is the Stock Market Crash of 1929. It was on October
29, 1929 when the stock market crash which people called it Black Tuesday. When the stock market crashed it led the world into aGreat Depression, it
was the longest–lasting downturn in economics. On Black Tuesday, billions of dollars were lost which made investors go broke and made living
scarce. The cause of the great depression was the increase of credit among consumers. It was that so many people were getting a loan from the bank in
credit, so when the

Most Significant Events Essay
Some of the most significant events that took place during the 1st and 2nd century AD, was pentecost and St Paul's conversion. Pentecost was 50
days after the Passover. Pentecost occurred when the 12 Apostles gathered in a house, when they saw a violent wind come from heaven. It filled the
area, and they saw tongues that looked like fire that separated and was above each of them. This was the first time the Apostles were filled with the
Holy Spirit, which allowed them to speak different tongues. One of the Apostles filled with the Spirit preached to everyone that they should be
baptised and they too would be filled with the Holy Spirit. 3000 were baptised, which increased the growth of the Catholic Church as it moved many

Influenced people to believe in Jesus because of his own experience. He was able to tell people that Jesus was real which made people believe him.
He went on three missions which was an important part in the growth of the church. During his missions has he performed many miracles, he healed
a cripple in Lystra. He also converted and preached to people, helping them to become members of the Church. Also because of Pentecost, followers
and believers around the world could be empowered by the Holy Spirt, which opened more doors increasing Christianity around the globe. Due to
Pentecost we now have a sacrament, Baptism, that allows us to be cleansed of Original sin and we are given the Holy

Most Significant Events During The Holocaust
One of the most significant events that took place during the Holocaust was Kristallnacht; known as The Night of the Broken Glass for the shattered
pieces of glass that littered the streets. On the night of November 9th, 1938, Nazi troops were ordered to disguise as ordinary civilians in order to give
the impression that the perpetrators were angry members of the public. They outflanked Jewish neighborhoods, destroying homes, synagogues, shops,
and businesses, encouraging ordinary Germans to participate in the breaking of glass by throwing Jewish possessions out of windows into streets.
Many historians believe that night triggered the introduction of the Holocaust, as 91 Jews were killed in the attack and 30,000 arrested and incarcerated

Significant Events In Human History
The whole course of human history may depend on a change of heart in one solitary and even humble individual – for it is in the solitary mind and soul
of the individual that the battle between good and evil is waged and ultimately won or lost. There are certain events in history that have had a very big
impact on the world. Three of these historical events include The Holocaust, World War II, and D
–Day.
The Holocaust was a mass murder of Jews during the years of 1933 to 1945. It was lead by Adolf Hitler, a man who despised Jews, he was the leader of
the Nazi group, a group that killed Jews. Hitler was named chancellor of Germany in 1933, he later became Fuhrer of Germany after the president's
death in 1934. Hitler had his forces kill Jews and to take away any Jewish lawyers or doctors. In 1940 to 1941, Jews were transported to the Polish

It was caused by different problems that hadn't been fixed in World War I, such as political and economic instability. The action that started World
War II was when Hitler made an alliance with the Soviet troops and invaded Poland from the west and east and it fell quickly. On April 9, 1940,
Germany attacked and invaded Norway and Denmark, he also invaded Belgium and the Netherlands on May 10. A few days later, Hitler turned to
France and was able to break down their barricade. Since France was close to collapsing, Benito Mussolini of Italy sided with Hitler and Italy
claimed war on France. Germany moved their focus to Britain, but since Britain was not connected to the continent, Hitler decided to bomb the Britain
territory, but at the end of the day Britain defeated the German air force. Britain's defense resources were limited due to the war, so Britain asked for
help from the U.S. By July 1943, the British and Americans defeated the Germans and Italians. On May 8, the Germans surrendered, but Hitler had

Personal Narrative: Significant Life Event of Divorce
Assignment 2: Significant life event of divorce My parents' divorce was one of my most significant life events. As a result of my parents' divorce,
I lived in a divided home. I spent part of my time with my father (usually weekends and a few holidays) and part of my time with my mother
(weekdays and other major holidays). Unlike other children my age, who tended to conceive of their parents as infallible well into adolescence, I
understood at a young age that my parents were not perfect. My mother frequently criticized my father and vice versa. At first, I felt resentful
towards both of them for shattering my world. It was uncomfortable and awkward having to deal with both of them when the anger of the divorce
was still festering. My stormy emotions might be one reason that my memory of this time is not perfect. I remember resenting my parents'
girlfriends and boyfriends even though in retrospect some of them were nice people. I felt guilty if I behaved civilly towards them, but equally guilty
if I did not. At other times, I tried to shut out the fact that my parents were divorcing, and simply focused on my own emotional issues. I did not want
to talk about the subject with my parents; I did not want to be their confidant. I felt that I had to assume an adult level of maturity that I was not really
willing or able to shoulder at the time. The divorce made it difficult for me to cope with the other challenges of childhood, such as dealing with peer
relationships,

Equally Significant Events Of The Cold War
The cold war consisted of multiple, equally significant events; However, the three events that I found to be interesting were The Marshall plan,
Building of Berlin Wall, and Korean War– 1952.
The Marshall plan was designed for the sole purpose of promoting economic recovery in Europe after the war and as well as trying to prevent soviet
communism. This plan was first proposed by George Marshall and Harry Truman followed through with it after several controversial conversations.
The Marshall plan took place in 1948–1952. The U.S. were trying to promote European recovery after the depression because majority of Americans

The French Revolution: The Most Significant Events Of History
The French Revolution is known to be one of the most significant events of history because it changed France and also altered the government. The
French Revolution was a process of elimination for the absolute power of the King and an act done to balance out taxes throughout the Estates. This
event instigated equality and liberty for the people and produced fair living standards for all social classes. Now this event didn't just happen with no
cause, it was due to the economic, social, and political causes that came along the way. One of the main reasons for the French Revolution was because
of the economy. By 1787, the French government was bankrupt. France was making purchases with expenses that were higher than its income. The
French were spending cash on palaces and on exceptionally expensive wars. In order to raise the money back, the food prices started to increase ...

In France, there was an absolute monarch, also known as King Louis XVI. He had absolute power over anything and everything, meanwhile the
peoples' power were constantly limited. People were denied basic rights and had no say in government under absolutism. Eventually, there was an age
of Enlightenment with thinkers that believed in specific rights. The Enlightenment was a new set of ideas by thinkers that attacked the king and
church. For example, John Locke was a believer in natural rights which is the belief for people to have the right to life, liberty, and property. He
believed that the government is best with limited power and permission from the people. Another thinker that was well known was Baron de
Montesquieu. He believed that governments should have a separation of powers to protect liberty and also thought governments should have checks
and balances. These Enlightenment thinkers were greatly admired by the people who supported democracy because they were for the people and their

The decades of the 50's, 60's 70's 80's and 90's had many significant events that shaped America into the nation that it is today. The events of these
decades shaped the United States into the nation that it is today consist of the Cold War, the Vietnam War, the Watergate Scandal, Reaganomics, and
the end of the Cold War.
1950's – Cold War
After World War II, theUnited States and the Soviet Union emerged as the two new superpowers and as archrivals. The United States wanted to keep
the Soviet Union from spreading communism by force so the United States came up with a plan of containment, which was to block the Soviet Union
wherever possible to contain the spread of communism therefore beginning the Cold War. (Davidson et al., 2005)... Show more content on

1960's – Vietnam War
The Vietnam War was not only a war abroad but also a war at home since many people within the United States believed that we should not be
evolved in this war, especially since it was a civil war in Vietnam. One of the main reasons for the unrest at home was due to the draft of young
men who did not want to fight for a war that they did not believe in. Many young men age 18 and over were drafted but some of the young men
who could afford a higher education were able to go to college and avoid the draft but once they graduated they would be in danger of being drafted
so many of the college students were protesting to end the war that they did not believe in or want to go and fight in. (The Sixties, n.d.) As the war
crept along the college students protested more and even burnt their draft cards to show their disapproval of the war. The war at home took a bad turn
on May 4, 1970 when a group of college students at Kent State started protesting. The governor ordered 750 members of the National Guard to stop the
demonstrators. The National Guard troops ordered the protestors to break up and when some of the protestors refused and started throwing rocks the
troops fired into the crowed killing four students and injuring nine other students. (Davidson et al., 2005) According to Wells, (1999), "The

How Significant Artists Are Influenced By Events
Examine how significant artists are influenced by events in the world INTRO: In art, Romanticism is the expression of a personal response to a
subject or emotion. It was a reaction against the formal logic and organisation of neo–classicism as artists added free manifestation of their personal
interpretation of events in their world through subject matter reflecting attitudes or moods. Withing artworks, artists expressed traumatic and gruesome
circumstances of war and terror through the politics of figurative art. With this, human bodies were centralised using figures as the focal point as they
were the dominant feature, in an environment that adds meaning. Artists Theodore Gericault and Francisco de Goya utilise bodies to demonstrate...

With this, the silhouetted figures are also seen to convey the dramatic and inhumane movement of figures as well as their intense facial emotions and
gestures. In strong contrast, the prior movement of the logical neo–classicism is seen, which a balanced design, clear composition and action that is
easily read in 'The Oath of Horatii', by Jacques–Louis David. David's painting is a neo–classical work that restores the ethical ideas of antiquity.
Ancient ideas are demonstrated with the use of structural devices such as the columns used to support the building. These arches correspond with
the grouping figures. Figures that are framed by the arches and being separated by the columns include; the brothers, the father, and the women.
Roman architecture in this painting is characterised by the absence of a base. However, it is grounded by strong tiles displayed as a grid. As seen
in 'The Raft of Medusa', David's painting also consists of triangular composition which is a clear focal point. Gericault's triangle of hope is seen as a
progression from the depths of despair to an apex of hope, whereas David's is a logically organised triangle configuration which highlights the
allegiance to the family. A contrasting allegiance to family to disgrace and despair in 'Raft of Medusa'. BODY 2: Both Gericault and Goya emotionally
reacted to significant events causing them to express these emotions through intense paintings. Francisco de Goya's 'The Third

going to win because we have the only Chinese boy playing basketball in Polk County." I can do anything. I'm going to win.

The most significant event in my life was when my little sister Emma was born. I remember the day that my mom told me that she was having a

had always wanted a little brother. Then I asked her why she wanted to know, which is when she told me that she was having a baby, and the doctors

The delivery of quality health care to all the people irrespective of their race, age, sex, and class, is the main objective of an efficient health care
system. The health care system has evolved in various preventive and promotional policies, programs and practices adopted by the United States health
departments, in order to develop and improve the health of the people. A major reform has occurred in health care financing, which provides health

However, the changes in United States health care financing system continue to face challenges due to rising health care costs. As the American
population increased, the State spent a twice amount of health care costs in 2006, as compared to the amount spent in 1996 (Annie, 2013). Moreover,
in the past fifty years, the American health care has reformed, with private and public insurance paying for more health care. The high health cost
strains the American business, which directly finance about a quarter of the spending in health care. For example, between 2000 and 2007, the
employer–sponsored health insurance premiums rose by 98%, which is four times more than the cumulative wage increases (Teixeira, 2008).
Moreover, high premiums that people continue to pay are usually higher than the amount of deductibles, as well as the health service that they utilize
(Annie, 2013). From 2001 to 2004, there was an increase in the number of non–elderly Americans, who spent more than 10% of their income on
premiums. Apart from the high American population that may have increased; the higher the overall health care expenditures, the inefficient and
dishonest health care financing system may also have contributed to the high health care expenditures. Some of the private health insurance systems
may inflate medical bills, thus some

Significant Events In The History Of America
There's a lot of important and significant event in the history of America. I'm going to talk about 3 historically significant events that have happened to
America. This introduction would be longer but I really can't think of anything else to say. So with that, let's get started.
The 1st event I'm going to be talking about is the Emancipation Proclamation. This unofficial law was made to free all slaves in the Northern USA.
This law was not made by congress, it was made by the president himself, Abraham Lincoln. This took place in 1863. The south didn't abide by these
laws until about 5 years after. This has an economic impact because right there a good bit of slaves were no longer slaves, to slave owners couldn't

What is a "significant event", truly I mean? A baby's first step, high school graduation, or even the pay raise that benefits you with a very very
generous paycheck. A "significant event" to me is to have a realization or occurrence that changes your perspective. In my case, i have had so many
negative events occur, it should be illegal. In this case it was an incident in which caused a major realization, an "AHA!!" moment, an epiphany. I
went to a chinese restaurant and ate some shrimp fried rice and eggrolls, but after dinner was over of course the waiter brought the bill and a few fortune
cookies. We all finished eating and opened the cookies. I usually don't take the fortunes seriously but this one actually made me think. Not just think,
but truly question and reconsider everything i could possibly byass on a day to day basis. I take in the words, " Broke is temporary, poor is a state of

Harper Lee's novel To Kill a Mockingbird was publicized in 1960, the beginning of a wild period for the United States (Exploring novels). Although
there is not much that had happened in this time period, there were a few significant events. In 1960 there was an incident that involved four African
American college students in Greensboro, they refused to move from a segregated lunch counter (Exploring Novels). A second historical event
involved a CIA spy plane. Exploring Novels stated this about the incident, "U–2 occurrence, wherein a CIA U–2 spy plane was shot down while flying

A significant event I can remember was the first time I have gone hunting with my father, and I was nine years old on a hot afternoon in

field full mesquites scattered around everywhere. The setting was so quiet that even the smallest whisper could be heard for miles away. As we got
the ammunition ready my dad told me to crouch down and get the gun ready as the dove flew in the air in our sights. I remember that every shot had

I learned from making my time line some dates for things that happened and how certain things got started. For example, the Secret Service, I had no

when the first law enforcement officer got killed. I also did not know that 1930 was the single deadliest year in law enforcement history. I

officer was killed in the line of duty. I did

Summary: The Most Significant Events In Roman History
From 66–73ce, a major war occurred that resulted in the Jews of Palestine revolting against Rome. This event is one of the most significant events in
Roman History. Approximately thirty five years after Jesus' death, the Jews of Palestine rebelled against their rulers. In 63ce, the Romans occupied
Israel (). When Roman armies breached Jerusalem's walls, they killed tens of thousands of Jews, burned the holy city, and demolished the Jerusalem
Temple, where the Jews worshipped. Over the course of time, the Romans rule had become more and more oppressive for the Jews because of annual
taxes, the Romans' control over the High Priest and the general treatment they received by the Romans. In addition, ideological disparities between the
Roman and Jewish belief in one God were at the center of political tensions which led to the revolt (). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since idolatry was not something the Jews believed in, they refused to place the Emperor's statue in the Temple (). In response, the Emperor

A short time after, a group of Jews known as the Zealots had become active. They believed that any of their actions would be justified if it meant they
could regain their political and religious freedom. The threats the Emperor gave convinced more people to join the Zealots and when the Emperor was
assassinated many took it as a sign that God would defend them if they decided to revolt

most of my Muslim friends were wearing the hijab; and my mother always talks about the hijab. Also, I was very nerves to wear the hijab because
my school did not have many Muslim girls that wear the hijab. I told my dad to talk to my teachers about my hijab; and I told my dad to tell the
teacher to tell the students to not pick on me, or bully me because of the hijab. I remember the first day I want to school with my hijab; I was very
afraid and anxious to go to school. I thought that my friends were not going to be my friend because of my hijab. But, I was very shocked when I
went to school because my teachers were so supportive; and that I found out that my teacher talked to the students about my hijab before I went to
school. I was grateful about the kindness of the teacher. The students in my class treated me the same way they always treat me, and my friends were
very supportive. Also, my dad showed up to my classroom with a cake. The classroom singed happy birthday to me, and took pictures with

important to a lot of people and it's part of Alaska's culture. The Iditarod is a significant event because it is a tribute to Alaska's history and role of
the sled dogs, to preserve the historic iditarod trail, and to save the sleddog culture and Alaskan huskies. First, the iditarods a significant event
because it's a tribute to Alaska's history and the role of the sled dogs. It is a tribute to Alaska's history because the trail was used for multiple
things. In the text it says, it had it beginnings as a mail and supply route. It also is a tribute to the role of sled dogs because without the race what
would they be used for. Without the race the sled dogs have no useful intentions to some of the people in Alaska. In conclusion, the race is a

Science and technology have always been joined at the hip. The evolution of health care services in the United States (U. S.) undoubtedly has been
shaped at least in part by advancements in scientific research and knowledge, and technological innovation (Shi & Singh, 2012). The following
exploration focuses on ways a specific scientific or technological event or innovation affected health care provision in the U. S. to date. Health care is
dynamic. Science and technology continue to prove themselves as important facilitators of the change processes that occur in health care. The scientific

In 1955 more than 50% of American women who used birth control relied upon condoms (27%) and diaphragms (25%). A decade later, only five
years after the pill was approved the numbers changed drastically, with 27% of American women using the pill, 18% using condoms, and 10% relying
on diaphragms. Use of the pill continued to rise so that 36% of American women were using it by 1973 (Seigel–Watkins, 2012).
Birth control affected health care evolution in many ways. Prevention and dominion over pregnancy provided women a type of freedom of choice
inconceivable before 1960. As the use of birth control matured and health concerns began to surface a whole new avenue of research opened related to
the correlation between use of the pill and emboli formation, heart attack, and stroke. An increase in medical malpractice claims and exorbitant product
liability costs illustrated another negative aspect of contraceptive medicine's impact on health care evolution. Citing limited opportunities for growth
and profits pharmaceutical companies tinkered with lower dosages and estrogen–progestin combinations but did not invest in new birth control
innovations during the 1970s and 1980s. However, the Drug Price Competition and Patent Term Restoration Act of 1984 also called the
Hatch–Waxman Act set the stage for expansion of the oral contraceptive marketplace. By 2007, that market was flooded with more than 90 brand–name
and generic drugs. Also by this time the

Life Event : A Significant Life Events In My Life
Significant Life Event Growing up my life was not easy, I would frequently transfer from different schools, and I had to meet new students and
teachers. I lived with my parents and three brothers in a small trailer home and times got tough while my step–father was working a twelve hour shift
and having to provide for the whole family. My mother was a single mother for a few years so she was never able to sit down and talk to us
because she always worked. I was always a quiet and shy little boy and it was not easy for me. We didn't have enough money to buy luxurious
things, name brand clothes, couple of pairs of sneakers, or even for all of us to get a decent haircut. One day, I picked up a pair of home clippers
and practiced cutting hair on my three younger brothers. As time went on I decided to pursue the art of barbering and eventually enrolled at the Fort
Pierce Beauty Academy. This was a significant life event because it brought me out of my shell, as I had to learn to interact with new people. The
students there had to learn to do perms, coloring, tinting, twists, and of course different hairstyles. I made a lot of new friends at the barber academy and
we always helped and motivated each other. At the academy I was not very shy, until I first began working at a barbershop that is when it really hit
me. I was the new barber and although I knew how to cut hair, I was extremely nervous to cut someone I had never met before. I have met thousands
of people and cut many

In ancient China, there were multiple events and figures that changed the time back then. Some of the most important events that happened, occurred
in the first dynasty. In this, we will be viewing the first dynasty and how it became, the social order and tombs and how writing changed history
Before the first dynasty occurred, there were many cities that were scattered in China. Some were located near rivers while others were near the sea, this
is where civilization occurred. The first dynasty did not come until the 18th century BCE. In the upcoming of the first dynasty, this originally came
from a group of tribe members which were called the Shang tribe. These tribe members at the time were powerful. With their power, they have
initiated the first dynasty China had. This was Shang Dynasty and has taken over a good portion of China. The dynasty started off by initiating the
first fully developed culture that was created in the bronze age. The Chinese were similar of the actions of Egyptian rulers. This was because they were

This was from the belief in which they had with their god Di. Within the social order, it has been believed that the kings were the sons of God and in

Significant Health Care Event Linda B. Conner, RN, BSN HCS/531 October 13, 2014 Dale Mueller Significant Health Care Event The health care
system in the United States has been growing and changing for years and will continue to do so for years to come. The one constant in the Unite
States health care system is change and evolution through evaluations of those changes. If there had not been unrest with the level and provisions of

Advances in technology and medicine have allowed our population to live far longer than the original contributors of the HMO Act of 1973 would
have ever expected. Plans and systems are not created to remain stagnate. Change is inevitable. The United States health care system is no different. I
do agree that the HMO Act of 1973 was significant to our history and future of health care. Without each stage of growth you can not strive to grow

Significant Events In The Outsiders
The three significant events that impacted the overall story are the death of Ponyboy's parents, Johnny killing a member of the Soc Gang, and the death
of Johnny.
One major event that impacted the plot was the car crash. Throughout the story, it's mentioned how the parents of Ponyboy (the protagonist) died in a
car accident. This left Ponyboy and Sodapop (Ponybody's second brother) in the care of Darry (Ponyboy's older brother). This has significance as it
led to those three joining the "Greasers Gang." Thanks to the Greasers, the three brothers were able to have another family among their gang
members. Also, the incident gave Darry a sense of responsibility as he had to take of both his younger brothers. Instead of going to college, he had
to work two jobs, so he can support them (and give them the future Darry couldn't have). If Ponyboy's parents didn't die, they obviously wouldn't be
part of the "Greasers" nor associated with any of their friends (ex. Two Bits, Dally). Additionally, Darry would have got the chance and finished college.

During a confrontation with the Socs, one of the Socs tried to drown Ponyboy in a nearby fountain. In retaliation, he fatally stabbed one of the Socs,
thus scaring away the others and saving Ponyboy. This is crucial as Johnny basically saved Ponyboy from death. Another point is that it strengthened
the bond between Johnny and Ponyboy; This can be seen when both of them are hiding out at an abandoned church. Also, this event represents how
Johnny has lost his innocence considering he killed someone. After all, Johnny was quite a shy and nervous person who had it rough at

Significant Events Of Life

  • 1. Significant Events of Life Significant Event The significant event of my life is about suicide attempt of my neighbour. It is few years old story when I and he were class mates and used to go to school together. It was the result day of 9th grade when he came across the news of his failure. I am not much sure about the details of the event as it is an old event and the panic created at that moment did not enable me to note the details. He and I had gone to school together and came across few other class mates before reaching the notice board to see the result. My neighbour was a sensitive boy. The class mates gave us the news of his failure, he was extremely shocked and in the same condition, he jumped from the 3rd floor window of the school. He died at the spot. The news of his suicide attempt was a shock for all who had made a joke of his failure. He had scored shining marks while the class mates were enjoying his sensitivity. This event placed unforgettable impact upon my personality and I gave up cracking any jokes with anybody. The wounded face and blood at the road is still clear in my mind and whenever I think of joke, I feel terribly shaken. We all were in much stress after this incident and it was really difficult to console the ones who had made this joke. Few students were blaming them for this cruel act while others few were of the view that my neighbour should not have committed suicide right away without even looking the notice board himself. He was a close friend of mine and his sad ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Essay On Change A Significant Event If one could possibly go back and change a significant event, what would it be? Is there anyone out their who can honestly say they have no regrets. Personally, I don't think there is, everyone makes mistakes and sometimes they can be so drastic that one just wants to start over. Although I have a couple regrets, I love myself all in all. If I could I would change just a few things because I believe your mistakes makes a person who they are. I regret a couple of things, one being the fact that I didn't get a job earlier. Also, I regret letting my mother influence me on the current situation I am in now. Does one ever think something would have been better if one would have never gone? I tend to think if my mother never had me, she wouldn't be struggling and stuck like she is now. When my mother had me, she was naГЇve. Really, she was just a kid too, barely turning seventeen. She never got to live life like everyone else and had to grow up fast. That woman was basically on her own. Of course, she had the help of my grandma and uncle but she was in a way shoved out that door and it never opened back up. If I was never born my mother would have a lot more opportunites. She would have been able to focus herself and been a lot more successful. Instead of trying to make a way for five kids and an overgrown man–child, she would have the appreciation and love for herself as mother, child, and wife. Maybe she wouldn't have had the disappointment she has in me and I wouldn't carry the burden I have on my back. For the most part, I love myself through all the mistakes I have made. In fact, if I could go back and change some things I would probably wouldn't. I do believe every mistake shapes a person and the person they may become. I feel if I could change these things I wouldn't really be the person I am today. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Significant Events And People In American History I have learned many interesting topics, events, and people in American History such as the Teapot Dome, Warren G. Harden, the 19th amendment, prohibition, assembly line, and many more. The event that caught my attention to write about it is the Stock Market Crash of 1929. It was on October 29, 1929 when the stock market crash which people called it Black Tuesday. When the stock market crashed it led the world into aGreat Depression, it was the longest–lasting downturn in economics. On Black Tuesday, billions of dollars were lost which made investors go broke and made living scarce. The cause of the great depression was the increase of credit among consumers. It was that so many people were getting a loan from the bank in credit, so when the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Most Significant Events Essay Some of the most significant events that took place during the 1st and 2nd century AD, was pentecost and St Paul's conversion. Pentecost was 50 days after the Passover. Pentecost occurred when the 12 Apostles gathered in a house, when they saw a violent wind come from heaven. It filled the area, and they saw tongues that looked like fire that separated and was above each of them. This was the first time the Apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit, which allowed them to speak different tongues. One of the Apostles filled with the Spirit preached to everyone that they should be baptised and they too would be filled with the Holy Spirit. 3000 were baptised, which increased the growth of the Catholic Church as it moved many to believe and become ... • 6. Most Significant Events During The Holocaust One of the most significant events that took place during the Holocaust was Kristallnacht; known as The Night of the Broken Glass for the shattered pieces of glass that littered the streets. On the night of November 9th, 1938, Nazi troops were ordered to disguise as ordinary civilians in order to give the impression that the perpetrators were angry members of the public. They outflanked Jewish neighborhoods, destroying homes, synagogues, shops, and businesses, encouraging ordinary Germans to participate in the breaking of glass by throwing Jewish possessions out of windows into streets. Many historians believe that night triggered the introduction of the Holocaust, as 91 Jews were killed in the attack and 30,000 arrested and incarcerated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Significant Events In Human History The whole course of human history may depend on a change of heart in one solitary and even humble individual – for it is in the solitary mind and soul of the individual that the battle between good and evil is waged and ultimately won or lost. There are certain events in history that have had a very big impact on the world. Three of these historical events include The Holocaust, World War II, and D –Day. The Holocaust was a mass murder of Jews during the years of 1933 to 1945. It was lead by Adolf Hitler, a man who despised Jews, he was the leader of the Nazi group, a group that killed Jews. Hitler was named chancellor of Germany in 1933, he later became Fuhrer of Germany after the president's death in 1934. Hitler had his forces kill Jews and to take away any Jewish lawyers or doctors. On April 9, 1940, Germany attacked and invaded Norway and Denmark, he also invaded Belgium and the Netherlands on May 10. A few days later, Hitler turned to France and was able to break down their barricade. Since France was close to collapsing, Benito Mussolini of Italy sided with Hitler and Italy claimed war on France. Germany moved their focus to Britain, but since Britain was not connected to the continent, Hitler decided to bomb the Britain territory, but at the end of the day Britain defeated the German air force. Britain's defense resources were limited due to the war, so Britain asked for help from the U.S. By July 1943, the British and Americans defeated the Germans and Italians. • 8. Personal Narrative: Significant Life Event of Divorce Assignment 2: Significant life event of divorce My parents' divorce was one of my most significant life events. As a result of my parents' divorce, I lived in a divided home. I spent part of my time with my father (usually weekends and a few holidays) and part of my time with my mother (weekdays and other major holidays). Unlike other children my age, who tended to conceive of their parents as infallible well into adolescence, I understood at a young age that my parents were not perfect. My mother frequently criticized my father and vice versa. At first, I felt resentful towards both of them for shattering my world. It was uncomfortable and awkward having to deal with both of them when the anger of the divorce was still festering. My stormy emotions might be one reason that my memory of this time is not perfect. I remember resenting my parents' girlfriends and boyfriends even though in retrospect some of them were nice people. I felt guilty if I behaved civilly towards them, but equally guilty if I did not. At other times, I tried to shut out the fact that my parents were divorcing, and simply focused on my own emotional issues. I did not want to talk about the subject with my parents; I did not want to be their confidant. I felt that I had to assume an adult level of maturity that I was not really willing or able to shoulder at the time. The divorce made it difficult for me to cope with the other challenges of childhood, such as dealing with peer relationships, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Equally Significant Events Of The Cold War The cold war consisted of multiple, equally significant events; However, the three events that I found to be interesting were The Marshall plan, Building of Berlin Wall, and Korean War– 1952. The Marshall plan was designed for the sole purpose of promoting economic recovery in Europe after the war and as well as trying to prevent soviet communism. This plan was first proposed by George Marshall and Harry Truman followed through with it after several controversial conversations. The Marshall plan took place in 1948–1952. • 10. The French Revolution: The Most Significant Events Of History The French Revolution is known to be one of the most significant events of history because it changed France and also altered the government. The French Revolution was a process of elimination for the absolute power of the King and an act done to balance out taxes throughout the Estates. This event instigated equality and liberty for the people and produced fair living standards for all social classes. Now this event didn't just happen with no cause, it was due to the economic, social, and political causes that came along the way. One of the main reasons for the French Revolution was because of the economy. By 1787, the French government was bankrupt. France was making purchases with expenses that were higher than its income. The French were spending cash on palaces and on exceptionally expensive wars. In order to raise the money back, the food prices started to increase ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People were denied basic rights and had no say in government under absolutism. Eventually, there was an age of Enlightenment with thinkers that believed in specific rights. The Enlightenment was a new set of ideas by thinkers that attacked the king and church. For example, John Locke was a believer in natural rights which is the belief for people to have the right to life, liberty, and property. He believed that the government is best with limited power and permission from the people. Another thinker that was well known was Baron de Montesquieu. He believed that governments should have a separation of powers to protect liberty and also thought governments should have checks and balances. • 11. Most Significant Events In History Essay The decades of the 50's, 60's 70's 80's and 90's had many significant events that shaped America into the nation that it is today. The events of these decades shaped the United States into the nation that it is today consist of the Cold War, the Vietnam War, the Watergate Scandal, Reaganomics, and the end of the Cold War. 1950's – Cold War After World War II, theUnited States and the Soviet Union emerged as the two new superpowers and as archrivals. The United States wanted to keep the Soviet Union from spreading communism by force so the United States came up with a plan of containment, which was to block the Soviet Union wherever possible to contain the spread of communism therefore beginning the Cold War. (Davidson et al., 2005) 1960's – Vietnam War The Vietnam War was not only a war abroad but also a war at home since many people within the United States believed that we should not be evolved in this war, especially since it was a civil war in Vietnam. One of the main reasons for the unrest at home was due to the draft of young men who did not want to fight for a war that they did not believe in. Many young men age 18 and over were drafted but some of the young men who could afford a higher education were able to go to college and avoid the draft but once they graduated they would be in danger of being drafted so many of the college students were protesting to end the war that they did not believe in or want to go and fight in. (The Sixties, n.d.) As the war crept along the college students protested more and even burnt their draft cards to show their disapproval of the war. The war at home took a bad turn on May 4, 1970 when a group of college students at Kent State started protesting. The governor ordered 750 members of the National Guard to stop the demonstrators. The National Guard troops ordered the protestors to break up and when some of the protestors refused and started throwing rocks the troops fired into the crowed killing four students and injuring nine other students. • 12. How Significant Artists Are Influenced By Events Examine how significant artists are influenced by events in the world INTRO: In art, Romanticism is the expression of a personal response to a subject or emotion. It was a reaction against the formal logic and organisation of neo–classicism as artists added free manifestation of their personal interpretation of events in their world through subject matter reflecting attitudes or moods. Withing artworks, artists expressed traumatic and gruesome circumstances of war and terror through the politics of figurative art. With this, human bodies were centralised using figures as the focal point as they were the dominant feature, in an environment that adds meaning. Artists Theodore Gericault and Francisco de Goya utilise bodies to demonstrate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With this, the silhouetted figures are also seen to convey the dramatic and inhumane movement of figures as well as their intense facial emotions and gestures. In strong contrast, the prior movement of the logical neo–classicism is seen, which a balanced design, clear composition and action that is easily read in 'The Oath of Horatii', by Jacques–Louis David. David's painting is a neo–classical work that restores the ethical ideas of antiquity. Ancient ideas are demonstrated with the use of structural devices such as the columns used to support the building. These arches correspond with the grouping figures. Figures that are framed by the arches and being separated by the columns include; the brothers, the father, and the women. Roman architecture in this painting is characterised by the absence of a base. However, it is grounded by strong tiles displayed as a grid. As seen in 'The Raft of Medusa', David's painting also consists of triangular composition which is a clear focal point. Gericault's triangle of hope is seen as a progression from the depths of despair to an apex of hope, whereas David's is a logically organised triangle configuration which highlights the allegiance to the family. A contrasting allegiance to family to disgrace and despair in 'Raft of Medusa'. • 13. Significant Event in My Life Essay Vesna Bejdic December 10th, 2010 UNI 101 Final Draft Most Significant Event in My Life Life seems to take many twists and turns that somehow mesh into each other to form a chaotic knot of happenings. All of these occurrences are supposed to shape you into a wiser more experienced person. Many people can even pin point the exact moment in their life which was forever changed by a single event. When that event happens it becomes an unforgettable memory for you and teaches you a lesson that becomes one of the basic guidelines in your life. If I didn't do that, I would be typing a completely different essay on a completely different significant event in my life that doesn't have any relation to Sociology. As I left my freshman and sophomore year behind me and approached my junior and senior year, I began thinking about my senior project and what I want to do, not what's easy or would take the least amount of effort and time. My first idea was to job shadow my dad because I liked working with him, but I thought about it and didn't want to do it 100%. My next idea was what I want to do for community service, and of course, I think back to my first experience with community service, which was helping others. I wanted to volunteer at a foster home because that's first–hand experience of being around less fortunate kids and gaining knowledge of what a Social Worker does, however there wasn't anything available within the time range I needed it to be. The next best thing was volunteering at a Boys & Girls Club. Yes, I still help children who need it, but I wasn't able to be around a Social Worker like I hoped. It was still a good ... The night before, I even ironed my jersey making sure my last name, Yung, was visible. "Is everyone twelve years old," I thought to myself as I looked up at my competition towering over me... and my dad. I was on the verge of losing all confidence, I had no answer, my mind only registered an image of giant twelve year olds running me over in the race for a spot on the city league basketball team. But I had no time to doubt myself. Hadn't I practiced everyday after school until my body begged me to stop? Even after my mom's ineffective attempts to get me to eat dinner, I ... "What am I supposed to do now," "I made the shots," "I completed all the drills," "I know I'm better than that boy," all possible explanations, questions, and criticism flooded my mind and took with it my confidence. Finally, one of the coaches took me in. Even though I found out Coach Jones "picked" me because he had drawn the shortest straw, I promised myself I would not disappoint him. The path to my dream was definitely going to be hard, being the last pick of the draft, I was deemed a "loser" already and my teammates had no respect for me. Amidst all the negative criticism I received from family and outsiders, telling me my "fantasy" to become the first Chinese NBA player were impossible and that the game of basketball never had Asians in mind, never once ended my love for the sport. As the first Asian player on the Winter Haven High Boys Basketball team I had to work harder, prove myself more, and take a lot of discrimination. Looking back, that city league basketball experience should have deterred me from ever striving for my goals, instead it has made me stronger. I have since transformed from a frightened little boy with no sense of dignity to an equal among my teammates and my peers. I remember the day that my mom told me that she was having a baby, and that I was going to be an older brother. I was in first grade, and she had just picked me up from school. As we were driving back home, my mom very casually started talking. The conversation continued until she asked me if I had ever wanted a little sibling. A little puzzled, I told her that I had always wanted a little brother. Then I asked her why she wanted to know, which is when she told me that she was having a baby, and the doctors thought it was going to be a girl. However, the changes in United States health care financing system continue to face challenges due to rising health care costs. As the American population increased, the State spent a twice amount of health care costs in 2006, as compared to the amount spent in 1996 (Annie, 2013). Moreover, in the past fifty years, the American health care has reformed, with private and public insurance paying for more health care. The high health cost strains the American business, which directly finance about a quarter of the spending in health care. For example, between 2000 and 2007, the employer–sponsored health insurance premiums rose by 98%, which is four times more than the cumulative wage increases (Teixeira, 2008). Moreover, high premiums that people continue to pay are usually higher than the amount of deductibles, as well as the health service that they utilize (Annie, 2013). From 2001 to 2004, there was an increase in the number of non–elderly Americans, who spent more than 10% of their income on premiums. Apart from the high American population that may have increased; the higher the overall health care expenditures, the inefficient and dishonest health care financing system may also have contributed to the high health care expenditures. Some of the private health insurance systems may inflate medical bills, thus some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I'm going to talk about 3 historically significant events that have happened to America. The south didn't abide by these laws until about 5 years after.
