The importance of audience feedback

By gaining audience feedback it allows me to evaluate how successful
my product was at appealing to my target audience. Audience feedback
also gives me the opportunity to find out what parts of my products they
didn’t like as much so I could further improve them in the future in order
to make my overall products more successful. It is important that the
feedback received is relevant and comes from the target demographic
otherwise the information will not tell me whether it appeals to the
correct target audience. I have used a number of different methods to
gain feedback in order to gain a vast range of responses from different
people.

I shared links to the various types of
audience feedbacks via social networks in
order to appeal to a large number of
                 people from our target audience
                 (teenagers).
Different types of feedback
To gain a vast range of responses inside The link I left on twitter for the
my target audience I used three different audience feedback
types of audience feedback, I used a
questionnaire with set questions trying to
find out strengths and weaknesses of the
products, I used a wallwisher in order to
find out peoples open opinions on the
trailer and a focus group representative
of the target audience who were shown
the products and asked in more detail
about the positives and improvement
points of them.
Strengths of the trailer
One of the common strengths identified
across all the types of feedback was how
    the trailer followed conventions.

Another strength was the use of
props both for alcohol at the party
and the use of nerdy props E.G. the
    computer and lightsaber

The use of upbeat fast paced music
                       was another strength picked out
                       from our trailer
Weaknesses of trailer
One of the main weaknesses identified was that
the narrative was not made clear enough in the
trailer, if this product was to be improved we
would use a voice over to make the narrative
             clearer.

Another weakness was the focus on the nerds
clothing and that there was not enough on
costumes. If we were to improve the product we
would use the costumes to show the characters
are nerdy and distinguish between social
             cliques.

The final weakness was making the
              Relationship between the nerds clearer
Which If we improved the product we
Could of added another scene to
              Show this.
‘The friendship between the character could
have been clearer’
Ancillary product strengths
One of the main strengths of the
ancillary products was the layout used
and how it was conventional and
professional.

Another strength was the colour
scheme used across both products
which helped create a house style and
was conventional for these products.
Ancillary product weaknesses

One of the main weaknesses picked up on was the fonts
used on both the magazine cover and film poster. The
feedback suggests that the audience would prefer to see
more varied fonts across the products.

Another weakness of the products was the use of mise-
en-scene especially for the film magazine, if I was to redo
this product I would use more relevant mise-en-scene to
the film including both costume and props. By doing this
the product would appeal more to the target audience.
