Disneyland Resort Paris
Disneyland Resort Paris: a development after understanding local cultures
The case Disneyland Resort Paris: Mickey Goes to Europe introduced readers to the development of
Disneyland Paris during fifteen years. Even though Disneyland Paris had a terrible start in 1994, it
had a great improvement and bright future in 2007. The reason for its failure and success is the
same: culture. Forgetting to respect local culture caused Disneyland to lose market and revenue in
Paris, while adjusting its operations with culture issues put Disneyland Paris in a successful position.
The success of Disneyland in America
As a cartoon company which was founded in 1923, Walt Disney Company started its business in
America. During the period to develop its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, the effects of culture differences will have lower power to stop guests feel Disney's core
value. * Reduce cost to increase net income under a condition of lower revenue of Disneyland Paris.
The culture in Europe restricts the ability of Disney to absorb money form customers. Since it's hard
to change the culture in Europe, a better choice is to adjust financial approach to reduce the lose
caused by culture. * Redesign services to attract more customers. Disney studio park and Val d'
Europe are two examples of services which capture more customers. The former one tries its best to
include European elements in it. The approach provides guests something they were familiar with
and attract more tourist to visit the Disneyland park. The latter one created a center to draw
customers' attention and affected their travelling preferences. Both of these two buildings were near
Disneyland Paris and work as a transportation to connect the European culture and "Disney culture".
Buildings with familiar elements will make guests feel comfortable and reduce their unfriendly
feelings to Disneyland Park. Therefore the park will get a chance to cross the cultural boundary and
bring its customers excellent experiences. * Improve services to bring visitors back. In addition to
existing services, Disneyland is doing kinds of improvements to satisfy customers and making them

Advantages Of All Inclusive Resort
What causes this strategy for country's economy?
Cultural economic socıal environmental problems
For travelers, the easiest and noticeable criticism of all–inclusive resorts is that spending almost
whole holiday in the resort, therefore, almost no one gets much real culture connection with the
natives.
However, the all–inclusive resorts do no really support the economy of the local suppliers so and if
we consider why we have tourism business, it conflicts with the terms because, tourism is meant to
support the country.
In the Antalya, some local hotel workers feel the jobs provided for the local workers by all–inclusive
hotels are better than the other offers. However, this is usually far from the reality in the majority of
cases. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Putting thousands of people at the same place is not ethical for nature because everything have
capacity so exceeding natural capacity is not ethical for us. It means that all–inclusive resorts incent
people to stay same places at the same time so they defraud other people to exceeding natural
capacity. Although they often host a lot of visitors than their psychical capacity, from a per capita
perspective it is not environmentally friendly to manage the impact of tourists in one place using
appropriate systems and technology than it is if visitors are scatter throughout a destination in little
pockets of temporary luxury living.
Disadvantages of All Inclusive Vacations? Feeling Trapped
Some tourists may feel like they cannot leave the resort because they have already paid for the
services, such as food&beverage and entertainment. In this case, they will be missing out on trying
the authentic cuisine or to absorb the traditional culture. If the package doesn't include tours of the
local attractions, they will spend some money to hire a taxi and a tour guide.

ROBIN ADD A BREIF STATEMENT ABOUT THE RECOMMENDATIONS!!!!!!!
Situation Analysis
Growing trend in leisure activities
With changing generations come changes in buying behavior and consumer attitudes. For example,
the Baby Boomer generation is work–orientated and focused on their professional life, sometimes
letting their families suffer as a consequence of their dedication. On the other hand, Generation X is
more family oriented and incorporates this in their buying behavior. As described by Lamb, Hair,
and McDaniel in Marketing 9th Edition (2008), "Gen Xers are a highly desired target for travel
providers...Gen Xers have no qualms about taking a midweek trip for fun," (p. 80). Generation X
like to take spur of the moment trips and are not necessarily as worried about the completion of their
job tasks, which not only makes them more attractive to travel providers but also to companies who
provide vacation resorts, or, more specifically, theme parks.
Target Market:
Primary Customers: Kids, teens, families
Initially kids under 12 were the main target market due to the nature of the Disney product and its

Why Should You Stay At A Butlin's Resort?
Would you think it would be reasonable for the authorities to evict a whole household of people, and
quarantine them for an indefinite amount of time because one member had a stomach bug? Probably
not; sounds more like the plot of a doomsday film. If you had been in contact with someone with
vomiting and diarrhoea would you get a week off work just in case you were contagious? It would
be nice, but I don't think your boss would be very happy and I think the UK's infrastructure would
quickly grind to a halt if everyone did that. So why are the rules different when you stay at a Butlin's
resort?
The issue that I am raising is part of Butlin's terms and conditions on sickness which are as follows,

information?
My second concern is that even though I cannot prove I sustained food poisoning from eating at one
of the restaurants on site called the Firehouse, it is suspicious that I had been symptom free when I
arrived on the resort on Friday, and it wasn't until Sunday evening, shortly after eating at the
restaurant I rapidly developed symptoms. My symptoms were also very short lived, lasting no more
than a day in duration. I admit the signs and symptoms of a stomach bug are similar to those of food
poisoning, and without further tests (e.g. blood tests, stool sample) it would be difficult to rule one
out over the other. However, I would like to comment that food poisoning symptoms tend to be
faster in onset and shorter in duration, which is true in this situation. Also, no one else in my family
became unwell, neither did they eat the same thing as me in the restaurant.
My next concern is, to what level the staff can impose this policy on sickness. If someone sneezes
next to a Redcoat, is that person and their family/friends

Blue mountain resorts case study Essay
Blue Mountain resorts (Data collection)
1. Problem definition
Blue Mountain Resorts were first built in 1941, and it is the largest family–operated ski resort in
Canada. The major problem in this case is that the CEO of the Blue Mountain Resorts has to decide
whether to install facilitates or not for the night skiing in 1979–1980 winter skiing season.
Maintaining comfortable capacity at ski resort is very important in this field of market. The capacity
depends on the hill size, hill development, and lift facilities. Therefore, to provide the night skiing
service, investing in hills and lifts are important factors. So, if the CEO decides to install the night
skiing facilities, he needs to decide the price of the single–night lift ticket ... Show more content on

Among 2 intermediate levels, one advanced, and one beginner and intermediate level, one should be
chosen. I suggest the intermediate level to be opened since the night ski uses would mostly
intermediate–high level users rather than beginners, and advanced level at night would be somehow
dangerous. The operating cost would be $1000 per night, adding seasonal allocation of $20,000
fixed cost, $7.75 liability insurance per 1000 skiers, and $5000 for promotional cost. Therefore, the
cost of operating night skiing is, $1000*120days+$20,000+$5000+$7.75*30= $145,232.50 per year.
$135,000+$145,232.50=$280,232.50. The frequency of night skiing in cross tabulation of pass
holder status was mostly 1–10 times per year. They will come for two or more days. The profit
calculation will be approximately 2days* 5 times* $5.50=$55.0 per people for a year. 30,000
people*30%*$55= $495,000 per year. This profit exceeds the cost, so the company should invest in
facilitating the night skiing.
The next step is to decide the type of the season pass and the ticket price. It could offer the special
night skiing season pass or combine it with the original day time season pass. For example, three
types of the passes which are; day pass, night pass, or combined pass. On the night skiing survey,
fair price showed to be $5 for midweek nights and $6 for weekend nights. Most people anticipated
their skiing days a year to 1–5 or more than 20. Also, the

Lender Of Last Resort Essay
The Lender of Last Resort
1. What is the Lender of Last Resort (LOLR)?
The term "Lender of Last Resort" stems from the French phrase "dernier ressort". The first recorded
use of the term Lender of Last Resort originates from a document called "Observations on the
Establishment of the Bank of England" written in 1797 by Sir Francis Baring in which he refers to
the Bank of England the function of "dernier ressort".
The Lender of Last Resort is ordinarily a country's central bank. It offers loans to financial
institutions (including commercial banks) that encounter financial difficulties or are near

insolvent financial institutions that can't meet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Among saving possible failing financial institutions, other goals of this institution includes
preventing possible panic from spreading to the populace, preventing possible bank runs from
happening also avoiding bankruptcy spreading from one bank to another due to liquidity issues.
Possible scenarios in which the Lender of Last Resort is needed in order to help or save commercial
institutions include financial crises, bank runs (when a substantial number of people withdraw their
deposits or demand exchanging their deposits into government bonds or precious metals) or bank
panics (when many bank runs occur in a short period of time).
2. Worldwide Lenders of Last Resort
The function of Lender of Last Resort differs from country to country. One of the most used
financial institution as the Lender of Last Resort is the central bank.
In the USA for example, the Lender of Last Resort is represented by the Federal Reserve. The main
purpose of the Federal Reserve is to help provide liquidity to financial institutions that are illiquid,
at the point of bankruptcy and to stop illiquid banks to start bank panics.
In the United Kingdom, the Bank of England serves as the Lender of Last Resort whilst in New
Zealand we have the Reserve Bank of New Zealand which acts as the central bank and Lender of

Competitive Advantages Of Universal Orlando Resorts
Universal Orlando Resort is the one of the top five largest theme parks in the world, coming second
only to Walt Disney World. In 2016, they saw roughly 47.3 million visitors walk through their gates.
They compete directly with Walt Disney World Resorts which is just down the street, in terms of
theme parks. In the beginning, they sought to be an additional theme park in an industry relatively
controlled by one party "Disney." As they continued to grow they saw other areas to invest in and
competed in every facet of a vacation destination.
One of Universal's major competitive advantages comes from their ability to license characters,
themes and stories from major movie productions due to their parent company "Comcast" owning
the movie producing goliath "Universal Pictures." This allows them to add new feature rides such as
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, Fast and Furious Supercharged and Jimmy Fallon's
Race through New York. Additionally, NBC Universal acquired distribution rights to Illumination
and DreamWorks animation companies allowing them to add rides and sell merchandise that
featured movies such as Minions, Shrek and Secret Life of Pets.
Before the Walt Disney Company purchased Marvel Comics in 2009 for $4 Billion dollars,
Universal made a deal in 1994 with then "Marvel Entertainment Group" to utilize the rights of
certain characters in their Marvel Universe. This universe was subsequently named Marvel Super

In 1999 Blue Mountain had is second best year in terms of attendance, with 415,920 visits" (the

point for most customers is the call center; this is where reservations, directions, tee time, equipment
rental and questions are answered. The facility has eight food service facilities, a conference center
for large meetings, three retail shops, a day care facility, and three rental and repair shops. To keep
the ski runs at their peak, they have to groom them every day, and make snow when needed. BMR
has also implemented a number of systems to help skiers while at the resort, including electronic
message boards to inform guest of open lifts and waiting times in line. BMR also has mountain
guides on the slopes to help answer questions, along with ski patrol to also help answer questions
and for medical assistance. With all these different operations working simultaneously together, it
was easy to lose track of the number on goal which is servicing the customer. This is exactly what
Dave Sinclair came upon when he first joined Blue Mountain in 1991. At this time BMR had
developed a reputation for long line and poor service. This is when Dave started to implement the
Service Quality program. In taking the focus off revenue growth and facility expansion and had to

Amusement parks are a great form of entertainment for families and individuals. Walt Disney World
resort and Universal Orlando resort are two popular theme park destinations which provide
enjoyment to many worldwide visitors on a daily basis. Although both resorts share similarities, they
also have numerous differences which set them apart from each other – creating a unique vacation
experience for each visitor. While both Walt Disney World resort and Universal Orlando resort are

destination. Both resorts have multiple theme parks, each of them aimed at offering different
experiences for guests. Walt Disney World resort has four different theme parks to choose from:

Orlando resort has only two theme parks to offer their guests: Universal Studios Florida and
Universal's Islands of Adventure. Both resorts offer convenient on–site hotels for their guests in
order to keep them as close as possible to the fun. Walt Disney World resort has more than twenty–

concerning human capital (Palmer, Dunford, & Akin, 2009). The new owner and manager, Gunter,
identified human capital turnover as a problem, the hospitality industry claimed turnover as a
chronic problem, and a newly hire consultant brought up an entirely new perspective to the so called
turnover problem (Palmer, Dunford & Akin, 2009). We 'll first review Gunter 's perspective and
approach. Initially, Gunter 's image of change outcome was that of a controlling director. He
identified a potential problem area (turnover) and assumed through intended control, change could
be achievable (Palmer, Dunford, & Akin, 2009). After further analysis, Gunter also identified
limitations from outside factors, such as available human capital resources making him somewhat of
a navigator with only partially intended outcome. As a director, Gunter intended to simply fix the
turnover problem. As a navigator, he recognized the outside factors. This led him to seek further
analysis through further industry research (Palmer, Dunford, & Akin, 2009). Hospitality industry
research indicated turnover was a chronic problem

Seaside Resorts in Today's Society
'Movement is Life. Stillness is the attribute of death. The stagnant pond collects the weed which will
finally choke it, but the moving river clears itself' (quoted in Matless, 1998, p.88)
Looking at the seaside resorts in today's society, we find that season holidays where millions of
people rush to through the summer period are associated simply with leisure and a chance to relax.
The view and use of these resorts have changed over the centuries; seaside resorts have always been
recreational environments although until the mid–19th century such recreations were a luxury only
for wealthy individuals. The development of the beach as a popular leisure resort from the mid–19th
century was the primary manifestation of what is now the global tourism industry.
The visits to the seaside have a long story ('The origins of the seaside resort: 1750–1840' – The
Seaside, 2014); in Roman times these resorts were populated by wealthy people who were able to
spend a lot of their time at leisure and had villas by the sea or made trips to the shores of the
Mediterranean. Thereafter the seaside lost its attractions, becoming a working place rather than an
entertaining place, however the seaside became popular again in the eighteenth century. 'The idea of
a seaside as a healthy place has a long history' (Brunton, 2014, p. 170), doctors in the 1730 begun to
recommend drinking and bathing in seawater; bathing at that time contrary to what we think today
was considered a therapy where

Wynn has the advantage of setting themselves apart from their competition in the luxury category,
by providing high‐end shopping and dining and creating the resort atmosphere. Although the gaming
industry resorts are impacted by poor economies they are not affected like many people think. High–
end players or those with high incomes generally will not change their spending patterns
dramatically when the economy is suffering. What this tells Wynn and others in the gambling
industry is that to survive through recessions it is critical to hold the market share of the high–end
players. With the Chinese government relaxing restrictions, the Chinese citizens have freedom to
become those high–end players that Wynn Resorts seeks to attract. Considering the financials

Social Analysis
The Indian society is divided into three classes: lower class, middle class and upper class (Driver
and Driver, 1987). According to Beteille (2001, cited in Mawdsley, 2004), the economy driver, as
well as the major consumer group in India is the middle class, which is driving the economy towards
success and development. Furthermore, referred to Misra (1961), the number of the middle class has
been increased explosively during the last decade and the characteristic in India is its diversity in
terms of language, religion and caste. In other words, India has the most diversity of middle class in
the world through calculation (ibid). To the constraints on growth and distribution of wealthy part,
firstly, the faster agricultural development can raise the overall rate of growth. Secondly, the
distribution of income in industry and agriculture can affect the growth rate through its effect on
demand and consequent have effect on industrial investment (Dutt and Rao, 1996).
As mentioned by the table in the American Marketing Association (2006), India has higher COL
(collectivism) scores, PDI (power distance) scores and LTO (long–term orientation) scores as well
as MAS (lower masculinity index) scores and UAV (uncertainty avoidance index) scores than the

malfunctioned. Nine chairs travelled backwards on the cable, injuring seven people; three of whom

of the eight injured, stated, "I think we're pretty conscious of the risk we think we're taking (in
skiing), and that involves trees and other skiers and that stuff. You don't expect the chair to try and

Expanding Disney Parks and Resorts to
New Orleans
The City of New Orleans is a remarkable city and has enormous potential for expansion.
The "Big Easy" has always been known for the French Quarter, yet New Orleans is so much more
than just a "party city". I suspect there is a demand to show the "family friendly" side of our city.
My proposal is to offer new development in a vigilant and financially responsible manner, while
offering a glimpse of the extraordinarily exciting and expansive visions that I hope to witness in the
future. The market feasibility and infrastructure demands must both be carefully assessed. The
objective of this tourism plan is to show the possibility of developing a
Disney Park and 2 Disney Resorts in New Orleans. While there have been notable failures and
setbacks along its progress, New Orleans is an international tourist attraction. Visitors come here
from all over the globe to witness our history and culture. My proposed plan will be evaluated based
on current trends, possible investment, and future economic impact. Mixing our culture with a little
Disney "magic" is just what the City of New Orleans needs.
Theme parks play an important role in generating revenue and tourism demand. They are one of the
leading reasons people vacation to many destinations. The theme park market is very competitive

Buildings with familiar elements will make guests feel comfortable and reduce their unfriendly feelings to Disneyland Park. Therefore the park will get a chance to cross the cultural boundary and bring its customers excellent experiences. * Improve services to bring visitors back. • 10. Why Should You Stay At A Butlin's Resort? Would you think it would be reasonable for the authorities to evict a whole household of people, and quarantine them for an indefinite amount of time because one member had a stomach bug? Probably not; sounds more like the plot of a doomsday film. If you had been in contact with someone with vomiting and diarrhoea would you get a week off work just in case you were contagious? It would be nice, but I don't think your boss would be very happy and I think the UK's infrastructure would quickly grind to a halt if everyone did that. My second concern is that even though I cannot prove I sustained food poisoning from eating at one of the restaurants on site called the Firehouse, it is suspicious that I had been symptom free when I arrived on the resort on Friday, and it wasn't until Sunday evening, shortly after eating at the restaurant I rapidly developed symptoms. My symptoms were also very short lived, lasting no more than a day in duration. I admit the signs and symptoms of a stomach bug are similar to those of food poisoning, and without further tests (e.g. blood tests, stool sample) it would be difficult to rule one out over the other. However, I would like to comment that food poisoning symptoms tend to be faster in onset and shorter in duration, which is true in this situation. Also, no one else in my family became unwell, neither did they eat the same thing as me in the restaurant. My next concern is, to what level the staff can impose this policy on sickness. The major problem in this case is that the CEO of the Blue Mountain Resorts has to decide whether to install facilitates or not for the night skiing in 1979–1980 winter skiing season. Maintaining comfortable capacity at ski resort is very important in this field of market. The capacity depends on the hill size, hill development, and lift facilities. The operating cost would be $1000 per night, adding seasonal allocation of $20,000 fixed cost, $7.75 liability insurance per 1000 skiers, and $5000 for promotional cost. Therefore, the cost of operating night skiing is, $1000*120days+$20,000+$5000+$7.75*30= $145,232.50 per year. $135,000+$145,232.50=$280,232.50. This profit exceeds the cost, so the company should invest in facilitating the night skiing. The next step is to decide the type of the season pass and the ticket price. It could offer the special night skiing season pass or combine it with the original day time season pass. For example, three types of the passes which are; day pass, night pass, or combined pass. The new owner and manager, Gunter, identified human capital turnover as a problem, the hospitality industry claimed turnover as a chronic problem, and a newly hire consultant brought up an entirely new perspective to the so called turnover problem (Palmer, Dunford & Akin, 2009). We 'll first review Gunter 's perspective and approach. Initially, Gunter 's image of change outcome was that of a controlling director. He identified a potential problem area (turnover) and assumed through intended control, change could be achievable (Palmer, Dunford, & Akin, 2009). After further analysis, Gunter also identified limitations from outside factors, such as available human capital resources making him somewhat of a navigator with only partially intended outcome. As a director, Gunter intended to simply fix the turnover problem. As a navigator, he recognized the outside factors. This led him to seek further analysis through further industry research (Palmer, Dunford, & Akin, 2009). Hospitality industry research indicated turnover was a chronic problem ... The view and use of these resorts have changed over the centuries; seaside resorts have always been recreational environments although until the mid–19th century such recreations were a luxury only for wealthy individuals. The development of the beach as a popular leisure resort from the mid–19th century was the primary manifestation of what is now the global tourism industry. The visits to the seaside have a long story ('The origins of the seaside resort: 1750–1840' – The Seaside, 2014); in Roman times these resorts were populated by wealthy people who were able to spend a lot of their time at leisure and had villas by the sea or made trips to the shores of the Mediterranean. Thereafter the seaside lost its attractions, becoming a working place rather than an entertaining place, however the seaside became popular again in the eighteenth century.
