Moodle is an open-source learning management system based on social constructivist pedagogy where all users are both potential teachers and learners through collaboration, observation of peers, and understanding different contexts to allow more transformational teaching. Moodle.org has over 1 million accounts with 50,000-60,000 concurrent users supported by two medium specification servers, and over 500 Moodle sites have more than 10,000 users, including the Open University with 400,000 users.

One server is the web server, the other is the database server.<br />Over 500 hundred moodle sites have more than 10000 users. Open University is the biggest with 400,000 users (apart from moodle.org). 33% University, 28% Secondary school, 13% Company, 9% independent, 4% Primary school.<br />
