Here is a draft sermon outline that a preacher could use based on concepts from the novel Flatland:
[INTRODUCTION]
Good morning brothers and sisters. Today I want to talk to you about dimensions - not just the dimensions we see in our everyday lives, but higher dimensions that may exist beyond our comprehension. The novel Flatland provides an interesting perspective for contemplating the spiritual dimensions of Heaven and Hell.
[BODY]
- Flatland depicts a two-dimensional world that is limited in its understanding of higher dimensions. In the same way, as humans living in a three-dimensional world, we are limited in grasping dimensions beyond our own.
- The book suggests there may be higher planes of existence above and

The Dimension Table For Crime
1. The Dimension Table For Crime
I) DATA CUBE Consider a data warehouse containing data pertaining to crimes.
It has three dimensions – Location, Crime and Time, and 3 measures – Number of Crimes, Cost of
Investigation, and Duration of Investigation. The dimension table for Crime comprises of concepts
such as Crime Type (eg, Theft, Assault, Arson) and Assigned Agency (eg, FBI, DEA, CBP, Coast
guard, State Patrol, etc.).
The dimension table for Location contains concepts such as city, state and country. Similarly, the
dimension table for Time contains concepts such as year, month, week, date and hour. PROBLEMS:

3. Kaluza Klein Theory and Higher Dimensions
Kaluza Klein Theory and Higher Dimensions I. Introduction Human civilization has always been
characterized by our ceaseless curiosity and awe for what we do not comprehend. Our wonder for
what lies beyond the scope of our daily lives has been the driving force for innovation and
advancement. The intensity of our fascination for what lie beyond is consummately personified in
the late astrologer and philosopher Giordano Bruno(1548–1600). Captivated by gazing into the
night sky, Bruno dreamed of a homogenous universe(reference to phy–312) with a multitude suns
with earth like planets rotating about them just like our own solar system. Publicly hailed a heretic,
Bruno was rejected from scientific and religious communities alike. Even after being
excommunicated by three different churches and denounced at Oxford University, Bruno held on
tight to his beliefs. His ideas would eventually lead him to the stake where he was burned to death
on charges of heresy and opposing the catholic faith. Bruno's death served as indispensable sacrifice
for modern day cosmology and our scientific community. It ultimately marked the beginning of
humanity's questioning of whether our world is actually what tradition tells us. Whether if it was
Einstein questioning Newton's long held laws of motions or Bohr questioning Einstein's beliefs on
quantum mechanics, history has repeatedly shown that curiosity about what we do not know is
integral towards the advancement of science. In Bruno's

5. The Dimensions Of Mental Health
Life In life there is many things that could happen. Things that catch your attention, going to
wonderful places, and to be playing in a professional. It all goes forever but there is one thing that
you have to be aware of. The things we do to ourselves as to other people, and it all starts with our
own health, to living longer, and all the way to making decisions. These are the things to have a
great life and to be successful, and if you keep on reading, you will find out the things that will get
you there.
Dimensions of Health In life, there is something called psychosocial health. There are many
dimensions to this health, but I am going to explain four of them. The first dimension is Mental
Health, and this is the thinking part of psychosocial health. This part is where you have the ability to
do many things as to solve problems, interpret, to sense, perceive, and to also evaluate what is
happening. The next dimension is Emotional Health, this is the part where you feel love, hate, joy,
anxiety, and sustains borderline emotions such as hope and care. Also, it carries emotions that result
from harm, loss, but also from benefits. There is another dimension called Spiritual Health, which is
the part that describes the mean and purpose of life. It is the part that contains your music, nature,
and the belief of your religion. The last type of dimensional health is Social Health, this type of
health is when you have social skills and you use them whenever you interact

7. Flatland: The Fourth Dimensions
The fourth dimension is impossible for us humans to picture in our minds, and some may doubt that
it even exists or wonder what it is. It is possible to prove that the fourth dimension exists, and I am
going to try to explain it by using geometry, though it will still be hard to picture it in your mind.
When watching flatland the movie, it made me think about how there could be a fourth dimension.
Before watching the movie and starting this paper, I thought that there was no way for us to truly
understand it, just as no one in the movie understood the concept of there being any dimension
higher in their own.
Fortunately as I found out, there is a way to understand the fourth dimension, but it will be primarily
through mathematics, specifically geometry. I chose to write my paper on this because I take interest
in having to think outside the box, and trying to understand certain things that may be debatable.
Even one of the greatest minds of the earth, Einstein, took an interest in the fourth dimension, and
his theory is that the fourth dimension consists of time. I will be taking a simpler approach since I

because I thought that it either didn't exist, or that it was too complicated for me to understand. Even
though there are more complicated ways and harder math problems in figuring out what the fourth
dimension is, it can still be understood on a simpler level using basic math and some topics that I
have come across during Geometry. After watching Flatland, I decided that I would try to use the
same concepts that were used in the movie, along with more research so I wouldn't just be talking
about the movie the whole time. My first step was thinking about other dimensions besides the
fourth, and eventually build up to

9. Hofstede 's Six Dimensions Of Culture
When a leader is born, raised and works in the same cultural area, he/she is adapted to the cultural
environment. But whenever a person has to lead a team consisting of intercultural people or even
when a leader has to move to a different country, the cultural differences might become an obstacle
for successful leadership. Different countries, nations have different history, values, religion. A
successful leader has to understand such differences to be effective. Hofstede's Six Dimensions of
Culture is an effective framework that helps to find and understand cultural differences of other
parts of the world and to overcome the misunderstandings that might erupt unintentionally.
At the end of 1970s Dutch psychologist Dr. Geert Hofstede created Four Dimensions of Culture.
Based on data from more than 40 countries he and his research team identified dimensions that
perceive cultures. Dr. Hofstede analyzed questionnaires of employees of a big international
company IBM with offices all over the world. He found it very important, that it is better to take into
consideration the whole cluster (country) and look for similarities in it, rather than concentrate on
individuals. "...they [IBM employees] were similar in all respects except nationality, which made the
effect of national differences in their answers stand out unusually clearly" (Hofstede, 2011). Each
country received a score 0–100 for each of the dimensions. When placed relative to other countries,

11. Theories on How the Universe Works
Both these question can be answered on the same page. A number of aspects of the universe can be
understood only in the light of more recent unifications theories. To understand the GUT era or
Grand Unification Theory era we need to know that it occurred when the universe was subject to the
force of gravity and GUT force. The GUT force "predicts that the strong force becomes unified with
the weak and electromagnetic forces at energies above 10^14 GeV." The Grand Unified Theory
states that for the three forces to merge together, the temperature of the universe has to be greater
than 10^32 K. The GUT era lasted until the temperature of the universe dropped to about 10^29 K.
at this point the GUT forces separated into electromagnetic and strong forces. This temperature was
reached when the universe was at the young age of about 10^–36 of a second. This sudden cooling
caused something called inflation. Inflation was a rapid and sudden expansion of the universe.
Basically the unified theories state that the four forces, strong, electromagnetic, weak, and
gravitational will merge at extremely high temperatures. Although we have a few assumptions about
the GUT, scientist have not been able to succeed in creating the details that have to do with a
supergrand unified theory, also referred to as the theory of everything.
To help explain how the four forces each play a role in today's universe today we need to know what
they are. Gravity is probably one of the easiest of the four

number of brands which create the evoke set.
I will begin with examining the core product. The primary function of the Mulberry Bayswater is
that it is a handbag. Its design is rather simplistic, a basic rectangle, with two compartments for
storage and two over–shoulder straps. The Bayswater most prominent feature is a discrete brass
clasp on the front of the bag. It is a very efficient bag as it fit in textbooks, an A4 file, a makeup bag,
pencil case – whatever is deemed necessary. The packaging of the bag again is very simplistic, plain
black leather, slightly textured. The plain black leather Bayswater retails for around £850 but other
variations can retail for as much £3,550. From the description of the core product, some people may
wonder why it has such a high retail price but the tangible and more importantly the intangible
dimensions of this bag are what give it such a premium price.
The tangible dimensions of the Mulberry Bayswater are again rather basic for a premium handbag.

15. Archetypes In Flatland
The book Flatland basically describes a 2dimesional world where shapes live with no knowledge
about 3 D objects moving like 3 D things or dimensions. Reading this book helped me think
differently about geometry because I never would have thought much about the value of being able
to see things in the way that we do. Sure in this book there weren't any math equations in this book
but the perspectives of the square character, thoughts, the flat land shapes classifications and actions
made me think about how great it is to see things the way we see things in geometry and life and
move the way we do that flat landers can't. In flat and they're classified by the shape, gender, and
even job in some cases, the shapes are triangles, pentagons, lines hexagons, and other irregular
shape. Women are treated like threats to the level they are watched and basically imprisoning and
watched like monsters. They treat them this way because there sexist and woman are lines with two
points so they can kill them easily. Therefore other shapes and gender really fear them and do their
best to strip them of all their rights. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

lived in was very much unfair towards woman at the time just like in the book flat land. In the book

17. The Spiritual and Physical Dimensions in The Birthmark Essay
The Spiritual and Physical Dimensions in The Birthmark
Fred Allen Wolf notes in Taking the Quantum Leap that it was not until the 20th century that
scientists realized that "to observe is to disturb, for observation breaks the wholeness of nature." If
observing disturbs, then when a scientist tampers and tries to perfect nature the result can only be
disastrous. The goal of most scientists is to observe and understand the mysteries of nature.
Nathaniel Hawthorne realized that the scientists of the 19th century were beginning to challenge the
traditional views of science and man. The traditional view of man holds that man is both material
and spiritual. Advancements in science led some scientists to begin to think that man was only ...

This is evidenced when the narrator makes reference to the fact that Aylmer "had studied the
wonders of the human frame, and attempted to fathom the very process by which Nature assimilates
all her precious influences from earth and air," (2). Aylmer did not want to accept the reality that
there was a mystery of life that was beyond our understanding and ability to manipulate. According
to the narrator, "Aylmer had long laid aside in unwilling recognition of the truth" that "our great
creative Mother, while she amuses us with apparently working in the broadest sunshine, is careful to
keep her own secrets," (2). He laid aside the reality of the real spiritual world that lies beyond the
grasp of man because he was unwilling to face his own limitations as a man and scientist. As he
embarked on his plan to perfect Georgiana, he continued to lay aside the truth because the truth lay
in "the path of his proposed scheme for the treatment of Georgiana," (2). William E. Grant
comments that Aylmer "is the archetype for all Hawthorne's scientists, since he represents both what
is best and what is worst about all of them," (3). His goal was honorable, that is to rid Georgiana of
her defect, his denial of the truth, that his abilities were in fact limited, was his downfall. It isn't till
later, that we see a glimpse that he has begun to recognize his limitations as he faces the reality of a
real and powerful spiritual world.

19. Preacher Sermon in the Novel Flatland
The novel Flatland provokes many new and interesting thoughts. The way the universe is portrayed
throughout the book gives us a view of many dimensions that may exist. Flatland shows us the
opportunities for the existence of different worlds and causes the reader to consider that Heaven and
Hell could in fact be two different worlds that may be expanded or retracted in dimensions. A
preacher may use Flatland in a sermon in a variety ways, including how Heaven may be a new and
inspiring dimension with a contrastive way of sight and sound that is only achievable upon reaching
Heaven. Hell may be an unspoken horror of dimension that none of us on Earth have ever
experienced. One way in which a preacher may use this incredible novel in a sermon is to give the
congregation an awareness of how the universe is ever–changing. Heaven may indeed belong to
another dimension with a different way of sight, sound, and emotion. Our God may experience
many emotions at once. For example, He may be angry and forlorn, jovial, and troubled all at the
same time. The variety of ways in which we attain sight, sound, and emotion causes a separation
between us and God that can never be fulfilled until we reach our final destination. Sin is also a
significant topic that may be discussed in a sermon relating to Flatland. While sin is existent in our
dimension and is quite prevalent amongst those who belong to the realm of Earth, the dimension of
Heaven has no sin. Heaven may be similar to our

In addition to the two traditional physical dimensions of an image, every photographic image

exposure, tonality, colour and focus. The remaining three dimensions are subject focused

Photography, historically, was initially used to supply knowledge pertaining to sexuality through the

subject's hands, seemingly active in a clapping motion, and the blurriness of the background, adding
a degree of depth to the image, similar to the depth one would experience were they in the presence
of the portrayed subject.
The clapping motion indicated by the subject's hands in the image, exudes a sense of the subject
applauding the viewer, seemingly reversing the roles between observed and observer. (Gunkel 2009)
Roland Barthes in, "The Photographic Message," explains that the moments in time photographs are
intended to capture are seemingly "a mechanical analogue of reality", a message, if you will. A
message that only becomes discernible after the fact, and it is only then that the importance of the
photograph is embodied. Furthermore, by describing the afore mentioned message it would attach a
"connoted message". (Thomas 2010)
Keeping with the afore mentioned notion of the moment in time captured by photographs being
messages, Muholi's Aftermath (2004), Zanele Muholi, Aftermath, (2004) depicts a woman standing
solely in her underwear with a large scar the length of her right thigh. Her hands curled one on top
of the other covering her vagina. (Thomas 2010)

between 1967 and 1973. By measuring the six dimensions on a scale from 0 to 100 the model helps
to differentiate cultures as well as explaining work–related values. Hofstede identified the following
six dimensions including the Power distance index (PDI), Individualism (IDV), Masculinity (MAS),
Uncertainty Avoidance Index (UAI), Long term orientation versus Short term normative orienta–

their own personal beliefs. A person doesn't have to believe in any one God, they just have to
believe. To practice spiritual wellness is to have a sense of belonging to something greater than
yourself and to have joy, compassion and, fulfillment in your beliefs. Examples of this dimension
would be the Pope, and the Dalai Lama. The last of the six dimensions is environmental wellness.
By definition environmental wellness means the livability of one's surroundings. A few steps we can
take to improve our environmental wellness are reducing waste and pollution by recycling or
carpooling when ever possible, and keeping your surroundings clean and free of hazards. Two
people I admire for their concern for our environmental wellness are Al Gore and Cameron Diaz.
The seventh dimension (as some experts say) is occupational wellness. This refers to the level of
happiness you gain through your job. Career experts say that setting career goals that reflect your
personal values is the way to achieve occupational wellness. Personally, I believe as long as you
enjoy your work, the people you work with and have the opportunity to learn and grow with your

Luke's Three Dimensions of Power
"Power serves to create power. Powerlessness serves to re–enforce powerlessness"
(Gaventa,1980:256). Such is the essence of the on going relationship between the Powerful and the
Powerless of the Appalachian Valley where acquiescence of the repressed has become not only
common practice but a way of life and a means of survival. In his novel Power and Powerlessness,
John
Gaventa examines the oppressive and desperate situation of the Appalachian coal miners under the
autocratic power of absentee land–owners, local elites, and corrupt union leaders. His analyses is
based on Lukes three–dimensional understanding of power from his book Power: A Radical View.

Both Lukes and Gaventa put forward the notion that restricting your analyses of a power situation to
the one dimensional model can skew your conclusions. If you limit yourself to this approach your
study will be impaired by a pluralistic biased view of power. Where the first dimension sees power
in its manifest functions of decision making over key issues raising observable conflict due to
policies raised through political participation, it ignores the unobservable mechanisms of power that
are sometimes just as or even more important. Many times power is exercised to prevent an issue
from being raised and to discourage participation in the political arena. Potential issues and
grievances are therefore not voiced and to assume this means that they do not exist would be an
outright deviation from fact. By restricting analyses to what is expressed and to observable
behaviour and overt conflict only, you miss any preference not expressed because of fear of
sanctions, manipulation, coercion and force. This critique of the behaviourial focus and the
recognition of unobservable factors of power is discussed in the two–dimensional view of power
developed by Bachrach and Baratz by which "power is exercised not just upon participants within

INTRODUCTION
As Economic globalization accelerated into the future international business is becoming more
dynamic. National culture has become a point of attention for the researchers. There are a number of
definations for culture which different researchers study. According to
Hofstede (2001) culture is "the collective programming of the mind that distinguishes the members
of one group or category of people from another". Distinguishing and characterizing cultural
diimensions and exploring the implications of national cultural differences have turned out to be
profound and provocative. The common point of cultural understanding has been given by Grret
Hofstede (1980) since years. His work has been expanded by GLOBE study to give a more detailed
explanation of National Culture.
Geert hofstede presented various dimensions of culture by evaluating values concerning work of
International business management employees. Geert's most master peace of work was recognised
when he divided culture into four different dimensions: Power distance, uncertainty avoidance,
Individualism versus collectivism, masculinity versus femininity, Long–term orientation vs. short–
term orientation and Indulgence vs. restraint. GLOBE expanded the study to give a more proper
explanation of national culture and expanded the dimensions from five to nine as he felt that

to use with it, are specially designed to assess the functionality of families and develop a treatment
plan. The hypothesis of the Circumplex Model is that balanced couple and family systems tend to

Roles are shared and rules changed. In the rigid relationship the leader is controlling and makes all
the decisions. Rules do not change. In the chaotic relationship, there is little or no leadership.

Communication is the third dimension and is not depicted on the model. It is a facilitating
dimension necessary for facilitating changes in the other two dimensions. This dimension is
measured by listening skills, speaking skills, self–disclosure, clarity, continuity tracking and respect
and regard. Balanced family systems have good communication.
"Self–reporting instruments and rating scales were developed to access the status of couples and
families on the dimensions of the Circumplex Model and to test hypotheses derived from the model"

socioeconomic status, district guidelines, and funding just to name a few differences. When you take
into account all the differences that make up a school, it is understandably obvious that behavior of
people working in the school will be different as well. Dimension two, understanding the
complexity of organizational life, was designed to build knowledge and assist with creating positive
cultures and climates for the internal and external environment of the school. This dimension will
assist with the important concept of structuring a school in a manner that enables and builds a trust–
based climate and culture where individuals work together to attain goals. While leaders work
towards goals, they must also keep in mind the needs of a diverse society, fairness, code of ethics,
and how to remove fear or intimidation from the school. When this dimension is used along with the
first dimension, understanding self and others, a leader is prepared with the necessary tools needed
to understand what style of structure will be most successful with his/her personality and the diverse

December 7, 2014 Leadership and Hofstede's Five Dimensions In my experience, working in a team
environment not only means working together collaboratively, but also means being sensitive to
cultural differences and outlooks within the team. Dr. Geert Hofstede, a Dutch social phycologist,
devised a way to recognize these cultural differences in five distinct dimensions (Hofstede's Cultural
Dimensions, n.d.). This essay will discuss these five dimensions and how they relate to leadership,
as well as presenting arguments on which combination of these dimensions makes the most ... Show

(Geert Hofstede, n.d.). A high score in this dimension represents a society that accepts an unequal
distribution of power, and those employees will accept their place in this hierarchical system more
readily than those societies with a low score (Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions, n.d.).
Related to leadership. Power Distance relates to leadership in how employees view their leadership
structure (de Mooij & Hofstede, 2010). In a high scoring PD culture, a clear social status of the
leader is very important, so that employees can show proper respect (de Mooij & Hofstede, 2010).
Low Power Distance scores indicate less tolerance of unequal distribution of power, and in turn
employees will not put as much stock in the social status of their leader, but how accessible that
leader is for collaboration (de Mooij & Hofstede, 2010).
Individualism (IDV) Individualism (IDV) is the second dimension of the Hofstede model, and
represents whether the culture is of an individualist mindset, or collectivist mindset (Geert Hofstede,
n.d.). Cultures with a high score in Individualism demonstrate a lack of interpersonal connection
with each other, and a lack of sharing of responsibility beyond family and friends. (Geert Hofstede,
n.d.). The positive from an individualist mindset is the self–reliance and enjoyment of individual
challenges that can contribute positively to the whole (Geert Hofstede, n.d.). Cultures

40. Microcultural Cultural Dimensions
Option #1 Microcultures/Cultural Dimensions Are you a member of a microcultural group in
America? Chances are the answer is "Yes". In fact, regardless of your cultural affiliation, the
majority of individuals in America are associated with a microcultural group (Neuliep, 2015). These
various microcultures exist within the macroculture of the nation, yet possess distinct attributes such
as: codes of conduct, customs, etiquette, hierarchies, language, and rituals (Long, 2017). Moreover,
a microculture can be comprised of group of individuals bound together through a characteristic as
varied as their age, racial factors, occupation, sexual inclination or even geographic location
(Neuliep, 2015). Each of these microcultures possess cultural dimensions as outlined by Hofstede
and these dimensions offer us a unique glimpse as to how these groups differ from other cultures.
Hofstede's Dimensions and the Deaf The deaf sub–culture consists of approximately 500,000
individuals in the United States who consider themselves part of this ethno–linguistic microculture
which takes pride in lacking the power of hearing or in having hearing which is impaired (Hamill &
Stein, 2011). Two of psychologist Geert Hofstede's six dimensions will be explored. By examining
this sub–culture, a determination will be made as to what distinguishes this culture from others as
well as to identify tendencies within this microculture. The two dimensions to be examined are

Global market entry strategies are complex requiring consideration of many factors (Chen &
Mujtaba, 2007, p. 322). Many of the complex option decisions are covered in the following two
articles. Both articles list numerous factors that influence firms' decisions for selecting foreign
market entry modes. This essay will discuss the findings of two articles and highlight how the two
articles relate to one another. The two articles were chosen from the Argosy online Library at
ProQuest Central. After careful consideration for the contents and the overall coverage of the subject

2. Competitive posture is the second dimension. The competitive posture describes the firm's
competitive objectives as either defensive or offensive. The defensive posture prevents competitors
from making present or future inroads on its market share. The offensive posture is where the firm
seeks to grow at the competitors' expense (Ayal & Zif, 2001, p. 73)
3. The third and final dimension is–Territorial location of major competitive arena. To understand
this dimension, the authors divided the world markets into three regions vis–à–vis any competitor
assuming that the firm's strengths are different from the competitors'.
a. The firms home market
b. Neutral territories
c. Competitors' home market (Ayal & Zif, 2001, p. 75)
Within these dimensions the firm has to consider two major sets of inputs to process. They include
an assessment of company resources–both absolute and relative to competition and a product/market
analysis to determine whether a strategy of concentration or diversification is indicated based on a
list of ten factors that is used to help the firm make a decision (Ayal & Zif, 2001, p. 75) The ten

There are different ways of determining what λ should be and I will cover how to obtain such values
by using the error terms of the sequence |x_k–x^* | and |x_(k+1)–x^* | which can be denoted e_k

〖 e〗_(k+1) respectively.
By comparing different methods and using them on the same problems we will be able to find out if
and where different methods will be suited to different functions. In some instances one method may
not work because it is may not be able to find a descending path to follow hence unable to find a
minimizer, or possibly one method may take and ascending path firstly so it could descend. By the
end of this research I will be able to recognise such conditions and restraints when applying a
method to a function problem, as well as being able to use a correct method of optimization and
picking one with a high order of convergence to obtain a minimizer as quickly as possible.
Due to there being multiple dimensions I will also look at when there is only one dimension to
worry about, these methods will include the Secant, Bisection and Fibonacci Methods, by looking at
these I can show my opinion on what would be the best type of method if the function problem was
in only one dimension, as perhaps a method which can be used for n dimensions may have
unnecessary work for a problem with a single dimension, I will do multiple comparisons between
the one dimension methods and then with methods that are used for multiple dimensions,

47. Hofstede's Six Cultural Dimensions
Hofstede's Six Cultural Dimensions
The Hofstede's six cultural dimensions were created collectively by Geert Hofstede, Michael Bond,
and Michael Minkov. These dimensions of culture were created to view how values in the
workplace were influence by a particular culture of a given country. Essentially, it was a tool to
describe how workforces in different countries operate under their own culture. There are currently
six different dimensions of national cultures; power distance, uncertainty avoidance, individualism,
masculinity, long–term orientation, and indulgence versus restraint. Professor Greet Hofstede was
the creator of the first four cultural dimensions, back in 1973. Roughly two decades later, Michael
Bond with the support of Hofstede created the fifth dimension, in 1991. Recently in the 2010, the
last dimension was added to the list, by Michael Minkov and his research team (Minkoy &
Hofstede, 2011). The first four dimensions discovered by Hofstede, dealt with four different
anthropological issues that were handled differently from nation to nation. These issues involved;
methods of coping with inequality and uncertainty, relationships within a primary group, and the
emotional significance of having been born as male or female (National, n.d.). The fifth dimension
is long–term orientation. Long–term orientation provides the idea that a given culture or country
prefers to do things in an old–fashion manner or in a modernized pragmatic approach. The last

49. • What Are The Five Dimensions Of Social Wellness?
Wellness Dimensions
There will be five dimensions explained under this topic. Which are: Financial dimension, physical
dimension, intellectual dimension, emotional dimension and social dimension. Wellness is
substantially more than only physical wellbeing, activity or sustenance. It is the full coordination of
conditions of these five dimensions.
Social Wellness
Social Wellness is the ability to relate to and connect with other people in our world. Our ability to
establish and maintain positive relationships with family, friends and co–workers contributes to our
Social Wellness. High Social Wellness is being aware of my surroundings, being positive to it and
contributing to it. Its benefit to me is it will give me positive feedbacks from the society and a
chance to fix my missing. Also it will keep me mentally healthy and help me look from bright side
to things. Low Social wellness is doing just the opposite of it such as being negative to my
coworkers at work or having a distance to my own family. It will cause me to be lonely and without
any support or socializing it will affect my mental health too.
For instance high social wellness can be as simple as when I am being nice to my friends in my class
like giving a smile or just a "hi" in the morning , Or helping with their works or if ... Show more

The desire to learn new concepts, improve skills and seek challenges in pursuit of lifelong learning
contributes to our Intellectual Wellness. High Intellectual Wellness can be contributing myself to
team work or open to new ideas. That will help me improve in my life or my job and ease it for me.
Low Intellectual Wellness is being closed to new ideas, team works, looking to the things with horse
glasses. That will only cause me to fall back in the race of life and will keep me under pressure and

51. The Association Between Parenting And Its Effect On Child...
Now that the association between parenting and its effect on child behavior is made relative, we can
take a look at negative parenting styles and its association with delinquency. Wilma Smeenk, and
Jan Gerris have done an analysis that associated parenting with delinquency. This analysis was able
to link parental monitoring, psychological control, and negative aspects of support like rejection and
hostility. The demographic was divided by parent and child gender, child age, informant on
parenting, and delinquency type.
Parenting dimensions have been proposed by two dimensions, support and control. These
dimensions are used to analyze the quality of parenting behaviors. The support dimension refers to
parenting towards children that makes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Authoritarian control is more directed to adult oriented, restricted, and firm discipline techniques. It
emphasizes the negative aspect of control like harsh punishment and rejection. Authoritative control
has positive effects on child behavior unlike authoritarian control which has been found to have
negative effects on the children.
Males appear to participate in more delinquent behaviors than females do. One ideas shows that
males may be vulnerable to risk factors for delinquency because of sub–par parenting. Another idea
is that delinquency is the same for males and females, but boys are more exposed to to opportunities
for delinquency than females. In addition to child gender, the gender of the parent also plays a role.
The link between fathers' parenting and mothers' parenting to a child's delinquency can be different.
The amount of time a father and mother spends with their child is not the same.
The study suggests that the differences between the link between delinquency and paternal and
maternal parenting, a fathers' supportive behavior was more strongly related to delinquency than
mothers' support. In order to analyze whether the same sex between parents and child influenced
delinquent behavior the study broke up subjects by fathers–sons and mothers–daughters, and

53. The Physical Dimension Of Wellness
Where I personally am at in the physical dimension is on the lower end for flexibility and
cardiorespiratory, but around average for the muscular strength and endurance. I am a bit overweight
and have been for the most recent years of my life due to lack of motivation to work to and keep off
the weight. As of late, my dietary habits have been atrocious, but I hope to change that. One great
thing about my physical dimension of wellness though is my great immune system. Getting sick is
rare for me and only really happens once or twice a year. I do try to take care of myself nicely as I
stay away from smoking, drinking, and drugs. I am lucky to not live with any smokers so being
exposed to tobacco smoke is off the table and I do not live near any polluted areas. I visit the dentist
every 6 months and did not have any cavities the last time I had a check–up. One bad side of my
physical dimension is the shakiness in my hands. Small finger–work such as writing, typing, or even
just holding an item can become a hassle if I get nervous or anxious(which is quite often). I've gone
to the doctors about it and learned that it 's know as Essential Tremors and will get progressively
worse. I am fortunate though that it is not as severe as others have it, and, plus, it makes me even a
little more unique as a person. My situation in the intellectual dimension is better as I enjoy my
mind. I love to read articles online and have become addicted to all of the information I read. I have

This study is an attempt to fill the gaps identified in the available literature on the association of
stimulus and brand selection. The present study measured the stimulus and its impact on brand
selection or purchase decision in the Indian online retail. To assess this relationship, different models
have been designed to investigate and measure the stimulus. For investigation purposes, a
qualitative model has been developed and presented in Chapters earlier. This model prioritized the
various factors of stimulus in context of the online retail. Next to this, the measurement aspect of
stimulus was addressed by the development of a quantitative model shown in Chapters earlier. This
model has been used to develop and validate the scale for the measurement of stimulus in the Indian
online retail. The present study comprises of the following: A broad and thorough literature review
has been conducted on the association of stimulus and brand purchase decision. The literature
review consists of the evolution and definitions of individual, technology and societal groups and
brand purchase decision, a classification of available literature, and various factors which constitute
Stimulus in S–O–R model. Based on this basis of this review, gaps, and a research agenda was
identified which provided a sound base to conduct the present study. A literature review of the

57. What Are Dimensions, Parallel Worlds, And Wormholes?
Theory #2 and #3: Dimensions, Parallel Worlds, and Wormholes
Singularities are wildly popularized in the science fiction world. In the CW's "The Flash", a
speedster is introduced by the name of Barry Allen who runs as fast as lightning. Through the years,
he gradually becomes faster until one day he reaches the speed of light and is transported into a
different dimension. In the show, the trespassing are called "singularities" or "portals" to which
Barry Allen visits different dimensions with possibilities of what his life could've been. Connecting
the idea of rapidly falling through a black hole, past the event horizon and into a singularity–is there
a possibility of entering into another dimension?
Dimensions were a significant part in Greek ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Einstein–Rosen bridge is a wormhole linking either two black holes together (allowing the
interdimensional space travel), or it could link a black hole in our dimension to another dimensions.
Travelling through the bridge would suck you into the "throat" and out a white hole in a different
world. Of course, for the Einstein–Rosen bridge to be true, the existence of white holes must also be
true. On Michio Kaku's website (mkaku.org), he explains, "Kerr showed that a spinning black hole
would collapse not into a point, but to a 'ring of fire.' Because the ring was spinning rapidly,
centrifugal forces would keep it from collapsing. Remarkably, a space probe fired directly through
the ring would not be crushed into oblivion, but might actually emerge unscratched on the other side
of the Einstein–Rosen bridge, in a parallel universe". Again, entering a black hole, it is possible to
either exit through a another black hole in the universe or get sucked out through a white hole in a
parallel universe. What would remain once entering through the Einstein–Rosen bridge could vary

59. Cultural Dimensions And Its Impact On The Corporate World
Cultural differences and dimensions are very important when it comes to the corporate world. There
have been numerous studies done on individual differences that are seeking out to identify the
reasons why people behave in which the way they do. In the United States, it is important to
understand each dimension and which cultural dimension we focus on most. In this paper, the five
cultural dimensions and how they are implemented in the corporate world will be discussed. Culture
is defined as, "The learned, shared way of doing things in a particular society" (Uhl–Bien,
Schermerhorn, & Osborne, 2014, p.44). As referred by Geert Hofstede, culture is the, "software of
the mind". Hofstede is referring to our minds as, "hardware" since it is universal to all humans.
However, the, "software" of culture varies from each one with many differences. We were born into
a society that teaches you culture rather than being born into it. Since we learn from a very young
age about culture this helps up to distinguish boundaries between different groups of people. In each
culture there are a set of values and these are important when dealing with organizational behavior.
Uhl–Bien, Schermerhorn, & Osborne (2014) state that the way in which people think about work,
risk, wealth, achievement, and gain may influence their approach to work and relationships (p.44).
There is a term known as cultural quotient which describes how someone is able to work effectively

61. Hofstede's Improve Four Dimensions Helping Others
Analysing 116 000 survey questionnaires, Hofstede's improve four dimensions helping others to
understand different culture behaviour. These dimensions were created based on simple problems
that most societies have every day.
The first dimension, power distance (PD), refers to "hierarchy", to how inequality is approved by
subordinates and superiors, how power is divided between societies and how people behave with
authority. Hofstede divided this dimension in low which are societies with characteristics as
inequality at the minimum level, everyone enjoy the same benefits, subordinates opinion is taken
into account, managers should be democrat and high that includes societies that are autocrats
superiors, centralized structure, dependent subordinates, hierarchy reflects difference, superiors have
benefits.
The second dimension is uncertainty avoidance, and it shows how people react when they feel
threatened, societies that do not take risks or don't try new situations. This dimension is divided in
low and the main characteristics are rules are not allowed, common sense, hard work is not a virtue,
not structured activities. In the other side there're societies with the high uncertainty avoidance
characterized for don't allow changes, established rules, just in necessary cases, experts have the
better knowledge.
Then is the Individualism vs Group/collectivist orientation, this dimension shows How people
distribute their social life, importance of group life, goal achievements

63. Flat Becoming Round: Adding Dimension to Christianity
"None of us can meet God's standard. As a result, none of us deserve to don the robe and stand
behind the bench and judge others." (MaxLucado39) Christians have a hard time abstaining from a
judgemental mindset, but that is not always the case. Non–believers have a tendency to show their
judgemental side by just saying that "Christians are always judging me." whenever a Christian may
approach a certain non–believer. This is one of the reasons that Christians are considered flat
characters rather to the approach of flat characters becoming round. Christians are perceived as one
dimensional and hypocritical but in all honesty Christians are striving to become a picture of Jesus
Christ.
The biggest aspect of a flat Christian character is when a person doesn't see the change in a person's
life when they claim Christ. This makes that person one–dimensional. The reason they would be
one–dimensional is that Christian has no spiritual development in their life. This makes them truly
flat. The biggest comparison is between Old Man Warner in Shirley Jackson story The Lottery. Old
Man Warner is a flat character, he is stuck in the past. Knowing that Warner is like most christians in
today's world. Christians claim they have Christ but are too busy living in their sinful past that
Christ paid for. Yet like Warner, the Christian thinks it's okay. This leads to the hypocritical
problems with Christians.

Flatland Summary The book Flatland, by Edwin Abbott Abbott, is all about A. Square in a two
dimensional world, called Flatland and his journey into the third dimension. The book is written in
first person with the narrator being the square. The first half of the book explained all about Flatland
and how everything worked in a two dimensional world. There were many different elements that
had to be explained before the reader could somewhat grasp the concept of life in only two
dimensions.
The first thing explained was the social classes which relied on how many sides one had, with a
isosceles triangle being the lowest class and a circle being the highest class. If an isosceles triangle
does good deeds and lives a good life, he can become an equilateral triangle and move up into a
higher class. I really did not like this part of the book because it seemed really unfair to that a kid

Since all they could see were straight lines at everybody they had to use brightness from what they
called the "fog" to tell how many sides a shape had. I found this part super cool because they had to
train their eyesight for a long time just to be able to identify others.
The second half of the book had to deal with the square's journey into the third dimension. First, he
had a dream about a one dimensional world, called Lineland, where he had to explain to lines and
points that there is more than their dimension. Of course, they could not comprehend the second
dimension because it is virtually impossible to visualize another dimension than one's own.
Next, the square was visited by what he thought was a circle but in reality was a sphere. The sphere
told him that he had given him the dream of Lineland, and he tried to use the same reasoning he
used with the lines and points to convince him that there was another dimension, the third

dimension addresses how people define themselves and their relationships with others. Cultures that
fall on the individualism side of the continuum share four characteristics. First, such cultures
consider the individual to be the most important entity in any social setting. Second, individualistic
cultures stress independence rather than dependence. Third, individualistic cultures reward
individual achievement. The last characteristic is; individualistic cultures value each individual's
uniqueness.
The United States according to the chart ranks as an extreme individualism culture. In the story,

Geert Hofstede conducted different studies for business culture; most of the comprehensive studies
are based on how the values in the workplace are influenced by culture. This paper briefly describes
how the Hofstede four dimensions of national cultures distinguished between two countries. The
four dimensions that Hofstede discovered were: Power Distance, Individualism, Masculinity, and
Uncertainty Avoidance. He used four dimensions to show the difference between each country
culture. It shows how cultures are different by 1) less powerful members of institutions and
organization within countries. 2) acknowledge people`s hard work 3) the society will be driven by
men or women can do anything a man can do. 4) Issues people face in the organization within the
society. The four dimensions of national culture were based on research being done by Geert
Hofstede. On the basis of these national culture dimensions, countries used these methods to
compare the different values with countries around the world.

71. Flatland Social Structure
The social structure of Flatland is similar to the structure of the 1800s, when Abbott wrote the book.
The males in Flatland are shapes composed of multiple sides, while the females are only straight
lines. The greater number of sides each figure has, the higher their status is. This concept is quite
similar to this time in Britian, where social casts and classes were relevant. Another common theme
in Flatland and in the 1800s is that members of the classes wanted to rank up and become something
greater. Flatland is written in first person, by A Square. This gives the overall novel a tone of
closeness. We are hearing the events from a source that experienced and witnessed the events
contained in the novel, which gives readers a better understanding of what happened. A Square is
somewhere in the middle of the class ranks. He's not a member of the lowest or highest social
classes. This helps him to understand all the different viewpoints and perspectives in Flatland. By
being in the middle class, he isn't too biased towards one side or the other.
The social issues and classes are obviously one of the main themes of the novel, but it is necessary
to note the importance of the two–dimensional essence of Flatland. Throughout the book, Abbott

Flatland is willing to accept this absurd and totally new idea of a third–dimension. People in

Masculinity
In my opinion, Masculinity versus femininity is about the value system refers to genders's role in
society. If some country has a low number of masculinuty, means that country's values systems refers
to feminimity which is the society is caring others and have a good life quality. But if the country

75. Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions Comparison
Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions Comparison
When a business decides to venture internationally into different countries with its products,
services, and operations, it is very important that the company gains an understanding of how the
culture of the different societies affects the values found in those societies. Geert Hofstede
conducted one of the most famous and most used studies on how culture relates to values. Hofstede
study enabled him to compare dimensions of culture across 40 countries. He originally isolated four
dimensions of what he claimed summarized different cultures – power distance, uncertainty
avoidance, individualism versus collectivism, and masculinity versus femininity (Hill, 2013, p.110).
To cover aspects of values not discussed in the original paradigm Hofstede has since added two
more dimensions – Confucianism or long–term orientation and indulgence versus self–restraint
(Hofstede, n.d.). Because of the way Hofstede's cultural dimensions are given an index score from
0–100, it is easy for a company to get a general comparison between the cultures they are expanding
into and the culture they are already in.
United States versus France
For example, if a company based in the United States were going to expand into France, the
company could use Hofstede's 6 cultural dimensions to get a general look at the differences between
the two. Then out of those differences, the company could see what approaches may or may not

His definition of culture is "the collective programming of the mind distinguishing the members of
one group or category of people from others" (Hofstede, 2001). These are his six dimensions and
how they are relative to leadership. The first dimension is called the Power Distance Index (PDI).
This dimension states that the people with less power in the society accept that power and influence
is distributed unequally. The lower power members of society want equalization of distribution of
power and demand justification. It is imperative for leaders in a global business environment not to
be a high power distance leader or a low power distance leader. There needs to be a balance between
the two, because you may be leading a diverse team of individuals from different backgrounds and
countries. The best way a leader can succeed in this type of situation is to know the team that you
are leading and develop flexibility that will motivate the team to follow.
Individualism versus Collectivism (IDV) is the second dimension. When individuals are in a social

In the first part, my paper will show some background of nationality which would have an impact on
management. According to Geert Hofstede (1983), there are three important areas included in
nationality, which are political, sociological and psychological aspects. First, political aspect can be
different in each country. Second, sociological aspect can be understood by the way people think
about their values–base of belonging to one nation or region. Therefore, each person need to be
circumspect when they work with foreigners to avoid misunderstanding about their identification,
otherwise, that would trigger conflict between them. Third, psychological aspect refers to the way
people think, which was affected by their early life experience in their family and later education
experience. Thus, our experience become" mentally programmed". According to Hofstede (1983)
the definition of culture is "collective mental programming". In that program, people in the same
nation or region will share their experience, understanding to other, but they would not share these
things to people of the other region or nation. Warner (1996) also suggested that member of nation
or region or group will share similar culture, and through that culture, standards, and perspective
were made, thus, they shape the behavior of a person or a group. Moreover, culture is enduring
