Built city's cultural affairs portfolio during Mayor Sharpe James’ first term.
Helped to bring recognition to art institutions in the city. Served as
emissary and special event coordinator for visiting dignitaries from all over
the world. Represented Mayor at events and on a variety of boards and
committees including Sister Cities, NJ State Opera, Newark Museum, OMTI,
Newark Public Library, etc.
