PUBLIC HEALTH VOLUNTE ER, GUINEA, WEST AFRICA Dec 2013 – Oct ‘2014
Participated in 11-week intensive training in French, public health, cross-cultural integration and
foundational development work.
Co-created “Association des Artistes” to help generate sales and exposure for local Guinean artists. Taught
basic marketing and price negotiation skills as well as helping the artists create portfolios and business cards
to help with marketing themselves and networking.
Trained 25 Guinean health care workers about Malaria prevention and coordinated a door-to-door
awareness campaign and net hanging (174 nets hung; 274 homes visited)
Promoted youth entrepreneurship by attending, then teaching marketing, advertising and basic
accounting classes aimed to teach creativity and basic business growing knowledge.
DIVISION LEADER, NEW YORK YMCA SLEEP-A-W AY CAMP, NY June 2013 – August 2013
Coordinated daily and weekly time off schedules for counselors, weekly one-on-one conversations with
each camper, and planning/coordinating night and weekend activities.
Dealt with conflict resolution between campers, and staff.

Brainstormed and planned community service, social events and oversaw a volunteer group (P3) for
students at the Center for Student Involvement at California State University Los Angeles.
In P3, recruited students interested in volunteering, scheduled their hours of service, planned volunteer
socials/mixers and award ceremonies and main point of contact for volunteers.
Worked with budgets, marketing designs/plans, contracts with vendors and oversaw execution of events.
Such events included: annual Mardi Gras, volunteering with the Downtown Women’s Center of LA, Eagle-
Con, Fall Student Fest, CSI Unplugged and STI/HIV Awareness day.
