The Program:
A Conceptual Framework for Enhancement of Cohesive Writing Skills in English.
Introduction:
In the era of globalization English has been regarded as the dominant language of
communication and is an official language in the world. It is a vital means of
communication for millions of people around the world. In the present world of global
competitiveness it has become essential for students to enhance their English language
proficiency. Hence it is important for students to have a good command of English. Poor
command of English is the main reason why they find it hard to go further and hence is a
barrier to achieve success.
In conjunction to this, English Essential Workshop is programmed to cater students
to be successful in English proficiency. Furthermore, the end result is to make students to
be knowledgeable, skillful and competitive in order to face challenges of examinations and
the job market. On the whole, the proposed program will be holistic, and students will be
trained to be intelligent and marketable both in the examination hall and in the real world.
To be competent in English students need to require not only language proficiency but also
proficiency in writing skills.
The English Essential Workshop is designed to help students gain important
skills. It is believed that the course structure, content, course delivery and the
learning materials are the approach that can significantly facilitate students to raise their
recognition and enhance writing activity. Consequently, students will meet new
challenges and requirements of global workplace. In addition, students’ experience can be
adopted to help them gain high-level professionally oriented language competence for
global purposes.
Primarily, in this program, we will inspire and nurture the writing skills of our
students through a process of internalization and comprehension of the conceptual fabrics
of the English Language by harmonizing its key elements.
Key Objectives: -
1. To present a general framework for an easy understanding of the fabrics of the.
2. Language with regards to examination and practical application in the “real world”.
3. An introduction to the souls of grammar, vocabulary and the four skills of reading,
writing, listening and speaking for the enhancement of fluency in the English Language.
4. To impress upon students to understand the significance of knowledge and higher order
thinking skills within the fabrics of English with specific focus on writing skills.
5. To showcase the interplay and application of grammar, vocabulary, the four (4) skills,
knowledge and HOTS harmoniously towards enhancing writing skills which would reflect
the intellectual mind of a student.
Targeted Groups
There are three targeted groups mainly as follows:
A. Excellent Group --- 30 students
B. Intermediate Group --- 53 students
C. Weak Group --- 9 students
A. Excellent Group
Modules: -
A brief introduction to the fabrics of the English Language and its reality in Malaysia.
1.The Basics of Cohesive Writing: Content, Grammar and Vocabulary.
2. Application of Vocabulary in Writing Skills.
3.Acquiring and Application of Knowledge and HOTS in Writing Skills.
4. Interplay and Application of the fabrics of Grammar, Vocabulary, the Four (4) Skills,
Knowledge and HOTS through a Conceptual Framework of Communication
Achievement towards the enhancement of Cohesive Writing Skills in English.
(Principally, it would encompass: Structure of Delivery of Messages, Presentation
and Organization of Thoughts to reflect the Intellectuality of a student).
Methodology: -
1. Online training session.
2. Highly interactive.
3. In compliance with CEFR syllabus.
4. Activity based
Duration: -
Four (4) modules are structured and each module would be for a duration of two (2)
hours.
In total, the training session would be for a duration of eight (8) hours.
Training Consultants: -
Each module would be undertaken by highly experienced educators cum trainers with a
minimum of 20 years of teaching experience in English.
Experienced with the dynamics of changes to the syllabus of English in compliance to the
expectations of the Examination Syndicate of Malaysia (LPM).
Financial Resource:
The financial resource is from PCG English Panel
Cost --- 30 students x 30.00 = RM900.00
B. Intermediate Group
Modules:
1. The Basics of Cohesive Writing: Content, Grammar and Vocabulary.
2. Application of Vocabulary in Writing Skills.
3. Acquiring and Application of Knowledge and HOTS in Writing Skills.
Duration:-
An online session for two hours slot
Speaker:-
Pn Syazrin Syimee bt Sharifuddin, an English teacher from SMK Raja Chulan, Ipoh.
Financial Resource:
The financial resource is from PCG English Panel
Cost --- RM200.00 (Token to the speaker)
C. Weak Group
Modules:
1. The Basics of Cohesive Writing: Content, Grammar and Vocabulary.
2. Application of Vocabulary in Writing Skills.
3. Acquiring and Application of Knowledge and HOTS in Writing Skills.
Duration:-
Four (4) modules are structured and each module would be for a duration of two (2)
hours
In total, the training session would be for a duration of eight (8) hours.
Speakers:
- Panel English teachers
Cost --- Nil
Therefore the total : A+ B + C = RM900 + RM200 + RM00
= RM1100.00
Conclusion
It is hope that the proposed programme would give an opportunity to students to
experience the fabrics of English from a different perspective, particularly with regards to
writing skills. On the whole, the program would live up to its expectation of being holistic
towards nurturing an intellectual mind, for our students being knowledgeable, skillful and
competitive in internalizing the key elements of the English Language. It is also hope that
the recommendations and implications about teaching writing would help students to
enhance their ability to write more cohesively and coherently as well as taking the
opportunity in discussions of a few problematic areas that remain to be explored. We look
forward to be part of the change process by harmonizing the principles of the English
Language towards developing great minds.

  • 2. The Program: A Conceptual Framework for Enhancement of Cohesive Writing Skills in English. Introduction: In the era of globalization English has been regarded as the dominant language of communication and is an official language in the world. It is a vital means of communication for millions of people around the world. In the present world of global competitiveness it has become essential for students to enhance their English language proficiency. Hence it is important for students to have a good command of English. Poor command of English is the main reason why they find it hard to go further and hence is a barrier to achieve success. In conjunction to this, English Essential Workshop is programmed to cater students to be successful in English proficiency. Furthermore, the end result is to make students to be knowledgeable, skillful and competitive in order to face challenges of examinations and the job market. On the whole, the proposed program will be holistic, and students will be trained to be intelligent and marketable both in the examination hall and in the real world. To be competent in English students need to require not only language proficiency but also proficiency in writing skills. The English Essential Workshop is designed to help students gain important skills. It is believed that the course structure, content, course delivery and the learning materials are the approach that can significantly facilitate students to raise their recognition and enhance writing activity. Consequently, students will meet new challenges and requirements of global workplace. In addition, students’ experience can be adopted to help them gain high-level professionally oriented language competence for global purposes.

Primarily, in this program, we will inspire and nurture the writing skills of our students through a process of internalization and comprehension of the conceptual fabrics of the English Language by harmonizing its key elements. Key Objectives: - 1. To present a general framework for an easy understanding of the fabrics of the. 2. Language with regards to examination and practical application in the “real world”. 3. An introduction to the souls of grammar, vocabulary and the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking for the enhancement of fluency in the English Language. 4. To impress upon students to understand the significance of knowledge and higher order thinking skills within the fabrics of English with specific focus on writing skills. 5. To showcase the interplay and application of grammar, vocabulary, the four (4) skills, knowledge and HOTS harmoniously towards enhancing writing skills which would reflect the intellectual mind of a student. Targeted Groups There are three targeted groups mainly as follows: A. Excellent Group --- 30 students B. Intermediate Group --- 53 students C. Weak Group --- 9 students A. Excellent Group Modules: - A brief introduction to the fabrics of the English Language and its reality in Malaysia. 1.The Basics of Cohesive Writing: Content, Grammar and Vocabulary. 2. Application of Vocabulary in Writing Skills. 3.Acquiring and Application of Knowledge and HOTS in Writing Skills.

Interplay and Application of the fabrics of Grammar, Vocabulary, the Four (4) Skills, Knowledge and HOTS through a Conceptual Framework of Communication Achievement towards the enhancement of Cohesive Writing Skills in English. (Principally, it would encompass: Structure of Delivery of Messages, Presentation and Organization of Thoughts to reflect the Intellectuality of a student). Methodology: - 1. Online training session. 2. Highly interactive. 3. In compliance with CEFR syllabus. 4. Activity based Duration: - Four (4) modules are structured and each module would be for a duration of two (2) hours. In total, the training session would be for a duration of eight (8) hours. Training Consultants: - Each module would be undertaken by highly experienced educators cum trainers with a minimum of 20 years of teaching experience in English. Experienced with the dynamics of changes to the syllabus of English in compliance to the expectations of the Examination Syndicate of Malaysia (LPM). Financial Resource: The financial resource is from PCG English Panel Cost --- 30 students x 30.00 = RM900.00
  • 5. B. Intermediate Group Modules: 1. The Basics of Cohesive Writing: Content, Grammar and Vocabulary. 2. Application of Vocabulary in Writing Skills. 3. Acquiring and Application of Knowledge and HOTS in Writing Skills. Duration:- An online session for two hours slot Speaker:- Pn Syazrin Syimee bt Sharifuddin, an English teacher from SMK Raja Chulan, Ipoh. Financial Resource: The financial resource is from PCG English Panel Cost --- RM200.00 (Token to the speaker) C. Weak Group Modules: 1. The Basics of Cohesive Writing: Content, Grammar and Vocabulary. 2. Application of Vocabulary in Writing Skills. 3. Acquiring and Application of Knowledge and HOTS in Writing Skills. Duration:- Four (4) modules are structured and each module would be for a duration of two (2) hours In total, the training session would be for a duration of eight (8) hours. Speakers: - Panel English teachers Cost --- Nil Therefore the total : A+ B + C = RM900 + RM200 + RM00
  • 6. = RM1100.00 Conclusion It is hope that the proposed programme would give an opportunity to students to experience the fabrics of English from a different perspective, particularly with regards to writing skills. On the whole, the program would live up to its expectation of being holistic towards nurturing an intellectual mind, for our students being knowledgeable, skillful and competitive in internalizing the key elements of the English Language. It is also hope that the recommendations and implications about teaching writing would help students to enhance their ability to write more cohesively and coherently as well as taking the opportunity in discussions of a few problematic areas that remain to be explored.
