Dr. Gupta's Collapse Case Study
I did not receive an incomplete form from Dr. Gupta by December 8th (Thursday). Also, I am
offended that you believe I am trying to earn a passing grade without doing the course work. It is
impossible to receive a passing grade without doing the work. The work has to be available in order
for me to complete it. I have reached out to Dr. Gupta numerous times during the Summer and Fall
semester about the course. He has taken longer than a week to respond to my emails. A lot of emails
I sent Dr. Gupta never received a response. Dr. Gupta has never explained why I have not received a
response from him. Dr. Gupta was present during the time I emailed him because he was sending
group emails to the whole class. I have visited his office and called his office numerous times and I
could not reach him. I should not have a difficult time communicating with my professor. I had a
difficult time arranging a phone meeting with Dr. Gupta. Dr. Gupta has expressed hostility towards
me in his emails such as writing words in all capitals when communicating with me. Using all
capital letters in an email is equivalent to shouting. I was very offended and hurt by his email. I did
nothing to receive that type of response. I only wanted to arranged a ... Show more content on

was not understanding of my current work schedule during the Fall semester. I notified Dr. Gupta I
already moved off campus (out of state) and I will be starting a new job. I explained to him I am
working 40 hours a week and I will need as much time as possible. My new job requires that I give
two week notice before taking off work and I have to work to accumulate leave. Also, I have
training classes I have to take for my new job. All of this factors into time needed for the MA165

Strategic Planning Essay
Strategic Planning
1. Appraise the formal planning efforts at the Copley Company for the period 1981 to 1984.
INTRODUCTION
Copley Manufacturing Company was primarily a manufacturer of a wide line of cutting tools and
related parts and supplies. Late in 1980, Mr. Sagan, director of corporate development and Mr.
Albert, executive vice president agreed that regular formal planning should become part of
management's way of life at Copley.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In 1981, Copley Manufacturing Company had begun formal corporatewide planning. The
formalized planning was ingrained into life at Copley through a series of visits by corporate groups,
planning review meetings, as well as planning response meetings.
However in 1982, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Typical of these meetings was that of the Cutting Tool Division, which was headed by Mr. Tyler, the
general manager. COMMENTS AND PROBABLE REASONS IN 1981
Generally, it was felt that the planning effort at Copley in 1981 had made a good beginning because
most agreed that the plans had provided useful information to aid the top management to obtain
better understanding on Copley's business activities.
DISCUSSION OF SITUATION IN 1982
In 1982, formal planning had been significantly affected by certain organizational changes, such as
the elevation of Mr. Albert to president, the creation of two corporate staff functions, the further
delegation of operating responsibility and the segregation of the Cutting Tool Division.
In the same year, the planning committee decided to divide the formal planning cycle into three
phases, which were the Strategy Development phase, the Quantitative phase and the Action phase.
The division's strategic plans were presented to corporate management by each division in a
planning review meeting and subsequently evaluated in a planning response meeting (Lee & Ke
2004). Unlike 1981, these meetings followed each other on the same day in 1982.
In 1982, the progress of the planning efforts was disrupted by certain developments; chief among
them was the change in the top management. Besides that, considerable management effort was also
required to assimilate the recently

Essay on Gateway Vs Dell
Gateway was founded in 1985 in an Iowa farmhouse and has grown into one of America's best–
known brands. Gateway is the third–largest PC Company in the U.S. Gateway started out in 1991
when it introduced its distinctive cow–spotted boxes. In December 1993, it became part of the
Fortune 500 and started to trade NASDAQ, a t$15.00 per share, prior to moving to the New York
Stock Exchange in 1997. In March 2004, the company acquired eMachines, a PC maker, for $235
million. This took Gateway from a PC maker to a full–service technology provider with a wide
range of its own products and services, such as thin TVs, digital cameras, camcorders and systems
and networking products. As of July 2004, Gateway has approximately 3,400 employees. ... Show

Gateway's technical support staff has consistently and efficiently correctly diagnosing and fixing
each problem in less than 10 minutes from the time a customer dials in and is disconnected. The
acquiring of Emachines and moving all of its business online and through the telephone could
potentially be a disadvantage to Dell Computers in the future. Gateway views charitable giving and
employee volunteering as a responsibility, this includes support of the United Way, and their
employees frequent participation in community activities. Gateway trades under the ticker symbol
GTW and is currently at $5.17 per share with a volume of 3,549,900. Gateway's stock split two for
one on June 16, 1997, at $67.125 for shareholders on June 2, 1997 and again on September 7, 1999,
at $100.50 for shareholders on August 20, 1999. Gateway has 372 million shares outstanding with
120,000+ shareholders. Considering where the stock split and what the company is doing now in the
market it does not look to be as good of a future as Gateway's website likes to portray. Dell's
commitment to customer value, their team, being direct, operating responsibly and, ultimately,
continues to differentiate them from other companies. Dell's mission is to be the most successful
computer company in the world at delivering the best customer experience in markets we serve. Dell

Between June 1980 to March 1981 four babies died at Toronto Children's Hospital. In the cardiac
ward 4A and 4B was where is was happening. They were suspicious at first but declared there wasn't
a problem. In January 1981 the first victim that stood out was four–month old Janice Estrella, her
autopsy showed high Digoxin level. Digoxin is a controlled drug that increase circulation and slows
heart rate. Next victim happened in March of 1981 his name was Kevin Pacsai only twenty–three
days old even though his condition wasn't even life threatening, however the nurse failed to
convince the doctors to attend to Kevin Pacsi even though he was struggling the morning of his
death. Kevin's autopsy came back and showed high dosage of Digoxin. After Kevin Pacsai and
Janice Estrella died the connor called the police he suspected that there is a killer. Allana Miller also

lawyer whose name is Elizabeth McIntyre, who represented the Registered Nurses' Association of

All and all, Susan Nelles was falsely accused, she never killed Janice Estrella, Kevin Pacsai, Allana

However, the staff departments were recommended to commence the planning process by analyzing
past results and identifying resources, strengths, weaknesses, major threats, and major opportunities
of their divisions.
In 24th October 1982, Mr. Albert reaffirmed his intention to emphasize planning at Copley by
setting specific goals, allocating resources, measuring progress, and emphasizing more on the
delegation of responsibility and also in the measurement of performance against determined goals
(Hicks 1999).
COMMENTS AND PROBABLE REASONS IN 1982
Generally, the progress of the planning effort in 1982 was temporarily obstructed by several
organizational changes and developments in Copley. It was disruptive to the planning effort because
considerable management effort had been placed on managing the acquisition of new company and
on working out the segregation of divisions.
DISCUSSION OF SITUATION IN 1983
In 1983, the planning process was largely influenced and administered by Mr. Tyler, executive vice
president. The division managers were required to reduce the number of pages for each product
group strategy and the related financial five–year plan in order to allow the divisional management
to have more time for strategic considerations (Tucker 1999).
Besides that, the management review process was also altered.

Integrity of the Game: Life Lessons through Sports
When I was four I started playing softball; when I was nine I started playing tennis: and when I was
fourteen I started playing volleyball. Up until now I thought these were just ways of my parents
getting rid of me for a couple hours a day. Up until now I did not realize that I learned anything
more from playing these sports than hitting a homerun, serving a kick serve, or being able to set a
ball 20 feet away. Now, I realize that all these sports have taught me some key life lessons. These
sports have taught me that mistakes are great, to handle stress, and how to increase positive energy
even when things are not going well. They have given me a lifetime of friends, leadership skills and
more confidence in what I do. In short, playing a sport has endless benefits.
One of the more obvious benefits is better health. This would not be temporary health benefits but
life long. It is sad to hear that in the United States alone there has been a growth in childhood
obesity. 33% of children and adolescents are obese. By participating in a sport, it helps regulates the
calories that are being burned, and it helps one maintain a healthy weight. The Report from the
United Nations Inter–Agency Task Force on Sport for Development and Peace states that children
and teens, upon playing a sport, increase the development of healthy bones, efficient heart and lung
function, and improved motor skills and cognitive function. All skills that are utilized in everyday
life. With that, this leads

A Short Story : A Story?
"Don't," she said, trembling harder than he. "I won't have you killing yourself." The fighting around
him faded into background noise as he lowered to one knee. A stick bit into his upper shin, and he
ignored it. Better to stay still––give Megan a clear target. Her grip on the handle shifted to one with
better leverage. Justin focused on the heart shape of her face, the grace in her arms, the smudge on
her nose, the blonde strands running across her cheek. She was beautiful when determined. A
smitten smile nudged his mouth. Who was he kidding? She was always beautiful. A thousand words
sat jumbled on his tongue. Maybe in some realm of existence he'd find a way to spit a few of them
out. Until then, the silence hung heavy. "Damn it, Justin." The tears welling in her eyes spilled over.
She drew back and swung, putting her hip and body behind the blow. Justin braced himself as his
years spent in the Warring Heavens flashed through his mind. There was enough time to inhale, to
regret anew, to close his eyes. His breath came and went ... and came again. He frowned and opened
his eyes. Kyeros stood in the path of the sword, holding Megan by the wrist. Something dangerous
smoldered in his glare. Spurred by dread, Justin launched himself forward. Kyeros swiped his arm,
and Megan soared several yards, flying over a charging Malviscus. Justin turned his head to watch
where she might land, and Kyeros snatched him by the bicep mid stride. With his other arm, he

Personal Characteristics Of An Individual
Personal characteristics lead to the development of the personality of an individual. As a female, my
routine in each week as well as all my activities, help to develop my personality. I am an
international student from China, and my everyday plans help define the exact personality I possess.
My essay will include a plan for three days from the 26th of April to the 28th of April, where the
three days will present my personality traits through the personal characteristics that I possess. The
essay will present how adaptive, cautious, committed, cooperative, dependable, and well organized
among other factors that I am.
I start all my days by taking a shower for about 20 minutes after I wake up at 10 am. After I had
showered and dressed, I open my computer to check for my day schedules to identify the
assignments that ought to be turned in. While checking the daily routine and class assignments, I
make a list on notecard of the assignments that I need to turn in and other important events on my
calendar. On April 26, I had a quiz and presentation to prepare. In my diary, I note that I also have a
quiz of human resource management class on 28th April, and I need to be prepared for it. Thus, I

Monster Culture Sparknotes
In "Monster Culture", Jeffery Cohen develops an idea that "monsters" are essential to society. In
fact, they construct what is "normal", "rational", and "civilized". Specifically, "monsters" are
foundational to how we view ourselves. "Monsters" contain all the traits deemed unacceptable and
odd. It can be concluded that every outlier is a "monster". In St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by

Russell delves into society's need for conformity, gender roles, and change. The story is told from
the point of view of the middle wolf girl, Claudette, and follows her on her journey from wolf to
woman. In relation to Jeffery Cohen's idea of monster culture, Claudette's journey applies to Thesis
IV "The Monster Dwells at the Gates of Difference" and part of Thesis I "The Monster's Body is a
Cultural Body". Claudette is torn between two worlds and she has to learn how to successfully
"move between the two cultures". Through Cohen's theses, Karen Russell uses character
development and dialogue to depict the inner and outer battle of societal femininity and
individualized femininity and the decision of accepting either side. The presence of "monsters" are
essential for this acceptance.
To build "the gate of difference", Russell makes Claudette resistant to the culture change. This
resistance allows for growth and conflict. Readers can see the inner conflict Claudette faces through

Fall Prevention in Hospitalized Patients Essay
Introduction Falls are a big concern for all employees in a hospital setting daily. The worst thing that
can happen to a patient while being hospitalized is a fall, or a major fall, that could result in skin
damage (i.e. wounds, skin tears, or abrasions), a fracture or break, thus limiting their independence.
This student's goal was to develop a way to educate staff members in ways they can help reduce the
number of falls that occur. Developing a sample Fall Risk Prevention Policy as well as a Staff in–

Summary Of St. Lucy's Home For Girls Raised By Wolves
To move one–step up can sometimes mean pushing someone else down. "St. Lucy's Home for Girls
Raised by Wolves" by Karen Russell conveys this adage through the story of girls who were initially
raised by wolves for the first part of their lives. Through the voice of one specific character,
Claudette, explains their transformations from once wolf like beings to human beings, having
human characteristics. This process includes learning human emotions, behavioral skills and gaining
human personalities. In turn, the desire to impress and to show ones superior that one is better than
the last person sets in. At St. Lucy's, in order to stay in the school, you must repress you wolf like
instinct and gain the characteristics of humans. When one continuous resists, such as Mirabella,
Claudette younger sister, in order to better oneself, the other girls see her as the weakest link and
therefore she is easily cast out. In a sense, it is simply humanity selling each other out to better
themselves.
The girls at St. Lucy's wanted to impress the nuns, their teachers, and gain their approval. Their job,
specifically, is to make the girls into "naturalized citizens of human society" (Russell 227). Gaining
their approval meant everything as it worked the same way in the woods, specifically, as the text
states that the key directive in wolf life is to know your place. In Claudette's words realizing, "that
someone higher up the food chain was watching us, we wanted only to be pleasing in their

franchises in the sport's history. The Cowboys own five super bowl titles, which were won in '71,

To aid Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones, whom is stated in Forbes Magazine as
being "worth 3.1 billion dollars himself," (Page 1), in paying the construction costs of the new
stadium, Arlington voters approved the increase of the city's sales tax by 0.5 percent, the hotel
occupancy tax by 2 percent, and car rental tax by 5 percent. The City of Arlington provided over
$325 million (including interest) in bonds as funding, and Jones covered any cost overruns. Also, the
NFL provided the Cowboys with an additional $150 million loan, following its policy for facilitating
financing for the construction of new stadiums," (Page 1). –Strengths and Weaknesses– A key
strength that the Cowboys franchise holds is the obvious tradition of winning and success on the
football field. As mentioned before, the Cowboys have 5 Super Bowl titles and that gives the team a
legendary aura every time they step out on the field. This allows their fan base to be very large,
consistent and proud to be part of the franchise. Along with that strength though, comes a weakness.
The history of the Cowboys is a history of excellence and winning which is hard to hold and be
consistent with in the NFL. Winning three Super Bowl titles in four years is a hard mark to reach but
ever since that accomplishment the Cowboys have been nowhere near replicating that achievement.
The fan base was created through the great seasons of football that the Cowboys have

Narrative Essay On Budy Thomas
His night on the town started with a shitload of beer and a bevy of enticing women as distractions.
Bryan Thomas tried to decide which he wanted more, a repugnant drink or a quick fuck though
either way, he'd still regret it in the morning. As he contemplated, a blonde haired, blue eyed beauty
walks into the bar with a friend. When the woman turned to her friend and then began to speak,
Bryan caught sight of her ass, so full and round, and he grinned.
He downed his Budweiser, paid his tab and with a smile, walked over to the woman who had
captured his attention. His eyes traveled over the blonde's incredible legs and when she turned
around and saw him, he lifted his eyes to meet hers. "I hope you ladies don't mind if I interrupt," he

and enjoyed each other's company. Once the beers were gone, Ashleigh threw her cup away and then
turned back to Bryan.
"Would you like to dance?" She asked and waited for his reply, hoping that he would agree.
"No thanks, I need to find a friend of mine. Maybe another time?" Bryan suggested.
"Sure, another time." Ashleigh grabbed another beer and then walked off to find someone to dance
with.
Bryan searched for his roommate after Ashleigh walked off to dance. He eventually found Jay on the

each other's hair out. He stepped between the women and tried to get them to stop fighting, only to

obviously been flirting with. "Alright, knock it off!" Bryan yelled, which only earned him a glare

Essay on Deadbeat Dads are Not Criminals
Fathers every year in Washington go to jail for nothing more than being broke (Deadbeat). They are
called "dead beat dads" by their peers, scorn by society, and treated as subclass citizens (THE,
ASSOCIATED). This is a very grim reality that men of every age range face daily. Both men and
women make the choices which result in babies. However, women are given a choice at every stage
of the child's development to adopt out, abort, or even use contraception (Why). Thus, men and
women share equal responsibility in the acts that conceive children. However, men do not have the
same options women do (Why). Despite this, DCS hunts men down as if they are the answer to all

Unfortunately, $540 wasn't enough for the DA who threatened jail time if he could not come up with
$2500 (Miller). As a result, Robin Miller refused to sign any order and kept the money he was going
to pay (Miller). Miller believed he would need this money in order to pay for representation
(Miller). The next case I submit to you is that of Andre F. Braxton. Braxton was in court for a child
support debt of $61,000 (Deadbeat). Under the pressure of this debt Braxton made a $1,500 payment
to the courts then fled the court room (Deadbeat). Deputies reported that Braxton never returned to
his home (Deadbeat). As can be seen, I do not make these claims lightly. Both of these men were
absolutely intent on paying their obligations; however, in both cases the men could not pay as much
as the state demanded. As a result of this, one man ran and another withheld his payment. Were
these men not under threat of loss of liberty (arrest), they may have been able to continue paying
support obligations to a lesser degree. However, under the threat of arrest these men can no longer
make any support payments. Finally, were these men to have been arrested, the result would have
been the same.
Next, I reason that child support is not a man's obligation at all. The reason men are expected to pay
support dates back to colonial days when the woman stayed home, and the man provided for her and
the children (Colonial). In this era, the woman had no options and no means of

Review Of ' The Crucible '

What is Corruption?
Corruption can mean so many things and can be interpreted in countless ways but in the most
simplistic way of explaining what it is, it is the misuse of judgment, the struggle between what is
right and what is wrong. No one really knows what led to corruption, but some say it was religious
reasons that led to this malfeasance, meaning the devil, while others believe different. People in
today's society tend to relate this topic to politics because it is most commonly occurs within that
faction of society. Corruption is a reoccurring theme throughout The Crucible, it shows through the
political, McCarthyism, religious and personal reasons of the Colonial Era. The Crucible takes place
in the early England colonies in Salem, Massachusetts during what we know as the witch trials. It is
based on a group of girls involved in "witch like" activities, who begin to accuse others of
committing witchcraft just so that they do not get into trouble. One girl controls the group, Abigail
Williams, and she plots against Elizabeth Proctor who is married to John Proctor, who Abigail had
an affair with. Due to these childish and dramatic acts of Abigail and the girls, half the townspeople
were taken to trial and found guilty of witchery and worshipping the devil and were sentenced to
hang. Not till the end did the townspeople realize their mistake about the accusations, which turned
out to be false.

"move between the two cultures". Through Cohen's theses, Karen Russell uses character
development and dialogue to depict the inner and outer battle of societal femininity and
individualized femininity and the consequence of accepting either side. The presence of "monsters"

A WBS helped the project team identify and publish the work scope of the project – the tasks
needed to achieve the project goal as a basis for estimating, scheduling and tracking progress (as per
Task Schedule above). Network Diagram. Using Post–it Notes a network diagram was prepared that
allowed for identification of the project critical path and float for non–critical tasks to be undertaken
during the project (refer to above Task Schedule): Process Mapping. It was useful to talk with
employees and map their work processes as a basis for identifying with them where these processes
might be made more effective and efficient. Outsourcing Work. Outsourcing means just what it says
– going "out" to find a "source" to undertake the work. The most obvious advantage of outsourcing
appeared to be the cost savings that would come with not having to purchase additional equipment
or work space and not having to add to the employee headcount. However, it was noted that some
organisations are now doing more themselves in order to develop or preserve their expertise and
self–sufficiency. Paired Comparisons Table. This devise helped the project team determine priorities
and was particularly useful for prioritising option selection criteria, recognising that some were

Wayne Williams Thesis Statement
Wayne Williams was born on May 27th, 1958 to Homer and Faye Williams of Atlanta, Georgia. He
graduated from Douglass High School and furthered his education at Georgia State University, but
later dropped out to explore a new talent. Williams took a specific interest in music, pursuing a
career in radio and managing a band. Williams' educational background and career both were pivotal
to his defense. In 1979, children and teens seemed to simple vanish. Each child met certain criteria:
young, black, and from Atlanta. The first two victims, Edward Smith and Alfred Evans, who were
both 14 years old, disappeared four days apart in June. Both of their bodies were found close
together in a remote, wooded area of South Atlanta one month later. Nine–year–old Yusuf Bell went
missing on October 21st, 1979 and his body was recovered November 8th of the same year. Police
did not connect the dots with Bell's murder because he was fully clothed, found in a remote area, but
was strangled to death, unlike Smith and Evans, who were shot with a .22 caliber. Williams' next
alleged victim, 12–year–old Angel Lenair, was also strangled. She was found in an abandoned lot,
fully clothed, with child underwear stuffed in her mouth. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The racial tension and confession of KKK members surrounding the murder are also very
suspicious. Were the confessions thoroughly investigated? Witnesses of many of the child murders
also note two black men, not one. It is very hard to believe that only one person acted alone to plan,
kidnap, and murder all 30 victims of a two–year span. If Williams was guilty, should it have been
more evidence and convicted of more than just two murders? I am unsure if Wayne Williams
committed these crimes, due to the lack of evidence, the ease of the trial, and biological

Also, I am offended that you believe I am trying to earn a passing grade without doing the course work. It is impossible to receive a passing grade without doing the work. The work has to be available in order for me to complete it. I have reached out to Dr. Gupta numerous times during the Summer and Fall semester about the course. He has taken longer than a week to respond to my emails. A lot of emails I sent Dr. Gupta never received a response. Dr. Gupta has never explained why I have not received a response from him. Dr. Gupta was present during the time I emailed him because he was sending group emails to the whole class. I have visited his office and called his office numerous times and I could not reach him. I should not have a difficult time communicating with my professor. I had a difficult time arranging a phone meeting with Dr. Gupta. Dr. Gupta has expressed hostility towards me in his emails such as writing words in all capitals when communicating with me. Using all capital letters in an email is equivalent to shouting. INTRODUCTION Copley Manufacturing Company was primarily a manufacturer of a wide line of cutting tools and related parts and supplies. Late in 1980, Mr. Sagan, director of corporate development and Mr. Albert, executive vice president agreed that regular formal planning should become part of management's way of life at Copley. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY In 1981, Copley Manufacturing Company had begun formal corporatewide planning. The formalized planning was ingrained into life at Copley through a series of visits by corporate groups, planning review meetings, as well as planning response meetings. However in 1982, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Typical of these meetings was that of the Cutting Tool Division, which was headed by Mr. Tyler, the general manager. COMMENTS AND PROBABLE REASONS IN 1981 Generally, it was felt that the planning effort at Copley in 1981 had made a good beginning because most agreed that the plans had provided useful information to aid the top management to obtain better understanding on Copley's business activities. DISCUSSION OF SITUATION IN 1982 In 1982, formal planning had been significantly affected by certain organizational changes, such as the elevation of Mr. Albert to president, the creation of two corporate staff functions, the further delegation of operating responsibility and the segregation of the Cutting Tool Division. In the same year, the planning committee decided to divide the formal planning cycle into three phases, which were the Strategy Development phase, the Quantitative phase and the Action phase. The division's strategic plans were presented to corporate management by each division in a planning review meeting and subsequently evaluated in a planning response meeting (Lee & Ke 2004). Unlike 1981, these meetings followed each other on the same day in 1982. In 1982, the progress of the planning efforts was disrupted by certain developments; chief among

  • 14. Essay on Gateway Vs Dell Gateway was founded in 1985 in an Iowa farmhouse and has grown into one of America's best– known brands. Gateway is the third–largest PC Company in the U.S. Gateway started out in 1991 when it introduced its distinctive cow–spotted boxes. In December 1993, it became part of the Fortune 500 and started to trade NASDAQ, a t$15.00 per share, prior to moving to the New York Stock Exchange in 1997. In March 2004, the company acquired eMachines, a PC maker, for $235 million. This took Gateway from a PC maker to a full–service technology provider with a wide range of its own products and services, such as thin TVs, digital cameras, camcorders and systems and networking products. Gateway views charitable giving and employee volunteering as a responsibility, this includes support of the United Way, and their employees frequent participation in community activities. Gateway trades under the ticker symbol GTW and is currently at $5.17 per share with a volume of 3,549,900. Gateway's stock split two for one on June 16, 1997, at $67.125 for shareholders on June 2, 1997 and again on September 7, 1999, at $100.50 for shareholders on August 20, 1999. Gateway has 372 million shares outstanding with 120,000+ shareholders. Considering where the stock split and what the company is doing now in the market it does not look to be as good of a future as Gateway's website likes to portray. Up until now I thought these were just ways of my parents getting rid of me for a couple hours a day. Up until now I did not realize that I learned anything more from playing these sports than hitting a homerun, serving a kick serve, or being able to set a ball 20 feet away. Now, I realize that all these sports have taught me some key life lessons. These sports have taught me that mistakes are great, to handle stress, and how to increase positive energy even when things are not going well. They have given me a lifetime of friends, leadership skills and more confidence in what I do. In short, playing a sport has endless benefits. One of the more obvious benefits is better health. This would not be temporary health benefits but life long. It is sad to hear that in the United States alone there has been a growth in childhood obesity. 33% of children and adolescents are obese. By participating in a sport, it helps regulates the calories that are being burned, and it helps one maintain a healthy weight. The Report from the United Nations Inter–Agency Task Force on Sport for Development and Peace states that children and teens, upon playing a sport, increase the development of healthy bones, efficient heart and lung function, and improved motor skills and cognitive function. A stick bit into his upper shin, and he ignored it. Better to stay still––give Megan a clear target. Her grip on the handle shifted to one with better leverage. Justin focused on the heart shape of her face, the grace in her arms, the smudge on her nose, the blonde strands running across her cheek. She was beautiful when determined. A smitten smile nudged his mouth. Who was he kidding? She was always beautiful. A thousand words sat jumbled on his tongue. Maybe in some realm of existence he'd find a way to spit a few of them out. Until then, the silence hung heavy. "Damn it, Justin." The tears welling in her eyes spilled over. She drew back and swung, putting her hip and body behind the blow. Justin braced himself as his years spent in the Warring Heavens flashed through his mind. There was enough time to inhale, to regret anew, to close his eyes. His breath came and went ... and came again. He frowned and opened his eyes. Kyeros stood in the path of the sword, holding Megan by the wrist. Something dangerous smoldered in his glare. Spurred by dread, Justin launched himself forward. Kyeros swiped his arm, and Megan soared several yards, flying over a charging Malviscus. • 40. Monster Culture Sparknotes In "Monster Culture", Jeffery Cohen develops an idea that "monsters" are essential to society. In fact, they construct what is "normal", "rational", and "civilized". Specifically, "monsters" are foundational to how we view ourselves. "Monsters" contain all the traits deemed unacceptable and odd. It can be concluded that every outlier is a "monster". In St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves, Karen Russell tells the story of a pack of wolf girls who are transitioning into young ladies. Russell delves into society's need for conformity, gender roles, and change. The story is told from the point of view of the middle wolf girl, Claudette, and follows her on her journey from wolf to woman. In relation to Jeffery Cohen's idea of monster culture, Claudette's journey applies to Thesis IV "The Monster Dwells at the Gates of Difference" and part of Thesis I "The Monster's Body is a Cultural Body". Claudette is torn between two worlds and she has to learn how to successfully "move between the two cultures". Through Cohen's theses, Karen Russell uses character development and dialogue to depict the inner and outer battle of societal femininity and individualized femininity and the decision of accepting either side. The presence of "monsters" are essential for this acceptance. To build "the gate of difference", Russell makes Claudette resistant to the culture change. This resistance allows for growth and conflict. Readers can see the inner conflict Claudette faces through the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Summary Of St. Lucy's Home For Girls Raised By Wolves To move one–step up can sometimes mean pushing someone else down. "St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves" by Karen Russell conveys this adage through the story of girls who were initially raised by wolves for the first part of their lives. Through the voice of one specific character, Claudette, explains their transformations from once wolf like beings to human beings, having human characteristics. This process includes learning human emotions, behavioral skills and gaining human personalities. In turn, the desire to impress and to show ones superior that one is better than the last person sets in. At St. Lucy's, in order to stay in the school, you must repress you wolf like instinct and gain the characteristics of humans. When one continuous resists, such as Mirabella, Claudette younger sister, in order to better oneself, the other girls see her as the weakest link and therefore she is easily cast out. In a sense, it is simply humanity selling each other out to better themselves. The girls at St. Lucy's wanted to impress the nuns, their teachers, and gain their approval. Their job, specifically, is to make the girls into "naturalized citizens of human society" (Russell 227). Gaining their approval meant everything as it worked the same way in the woods, specifically, as the text states that the key directive in wolf life is to know your place. In Claudette's words realizing, "that someone higher up the food chain was watching us, we wanted only to be pleasing in their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They are called "dead beat dads" by their peers, scorn by society, and treated as subclass citizens (THE, ASSOCIATED). This is a very grim reality that men of every age range face daily. Both men and women make the choices which result in babies. However, women are given a choice at every stage of the child's development to adopt out, abort, or even use contraception (Why). The next case I submit to you is that of Andre F. Braxton. Braxton was in court for a child support debt of $61,000 (Deadbeat). Under the pressure of this debt Braxton made a $1,500 payment to the courts then fled the court room (Deadbeat). Deputies reported that Braxton never returned to his home (Deadbeat). As a result of this, one man ran and another withheld his payment. Were these men not under threat of loss of liberty (arrest), they may have been able to continue paying support obligations to a lesser degree. However, under the threat of arrest these men can no longer make any support payments. Finally, were these men to have been arrested, the result would have been the same. Next, I reason that child support is not a man's obligation at all. The reason men are expected to pay support dates back to colonial days when the woman stayed home, and the man provided for her and the children (Colonial). • 58. Review Of ' The Crucible ' Kristina Garcia Mrs. Herrera English III December 11, 2016 What is Corruption? Corruption can mean so many things and can be interpreted in countless ways but in the most simplistic way of explaining what it is, it is the misuse of judgment, the struggle between what is right and what is wrong. No one really knows what led to corruption, but some say it was religious reasons that led to this malfeasance, meaning the devil, while others believe different. People in today's society tend to relate this topic to politics because it is most commonly occurs within that faction of society. Corruption is a reoccurring theme throughout The Crucible, it shows through the political, McCarthyism, religious and personal reasons of the Colonial Era. The Crucible takes place in the early England colonies in Salem, Massachusetts during what we know as the witch trials. It is based on a group of girls involved in "witch like" activities, who begin to accuse others of committing witchcraft just so that they do not get into trouble. • 66. Analysis Of The Book ' St. Lucy 's Home For Girls Raised... Kanye West said it best, "Everybody knows I'm a M*f**ing monster" and honestly, as humans we are. In Seven Monster Theses, Jeffery Cohen develops an idea that "monsters" are essential to society. Through Cohen's theses, Karen Russell uses character development and dialogue to depict the inner and outer battle of societal femininity and individualized femininity and the consequence of accepting either side. The presence of "monsters" are essential for this acceptance. To build "the gate of difference", Russell makes Claudette resistant to the culture change. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was useful to talk with employees and map their work processes as a basis for identifying with them where these processes might be made more effective and efficient. Outsourcing Work. Outsourcing means just what it says – going "out" to find a "source" to undertake the work. The most obvious advantage of outsourcing appeared to be the cost savings that would come with not having to purchase additional equipment or work space and not having to add to the employee headcount. However, it was noted that some organisations are now doing more themselves in order to develop or preserve their expertise and self–sufficiency. Paired Comparisons Table. • 82. Wayne Williams Thesis Statement Wayne Williams was born on May 27th, 1958 to Homer and Faye Williams of Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from Douglass High School and furthered his education at Georgia State University, but later dropped out to explore a new talent. Williams took a specific interest in music, pursuing a career in radio and managing a band. Williams' educational background and career both were pivotal to his defense. In 1979, children and teens seemed to simple vanish. Each child met certain criteria: young, black, and from Atlanta. The first two victims, Edward Smith and Alfred Evans, who were both 14 years old, disappeared four days apart in June. Both of their bodies were found close together in a remote, wooded area of South Atlanta one month later. Nine–year–old Yusuf Bell went missing on October 21st, 1979 and his body was recovered November 8th of the same year. Police did not connect the dots with Bell's murder because he was fully clothed, found in a remote area, but was strangled to death, unlike Smith and Evans, who were shot with a .22 caliber. Williams' next alleged victim, 12–year–old Angel Lenair, was also strangled. She was found in an abandoned lot, fully clothed, with child underwear stuffed in her mouth. ... Witnesses of many of the child murders also note two black men, not one. It is very hard to believe that only one person acted alone to plan, kidnap, and murder all 30 victims of a two–year span.
