Mark 3-35 Analysis
The three classifications are a direct and simplistic method for offering the initial evidence with regards to the disciples being convinced in accepting
that Jesus rose and appeared to them. "First, we have Paul who claims to have known and fellowshipped with the disciples firsthand. He says that they
said it.
Second, we know of some very early oral tradition that was circulating within the church before the New Testament was even written and points to the
disciples saying it. Third, we have written tradition that portrays or assumes the disciples saying that Jesus had appeared to them after He rose from the
dead."
When accepting or overlooking the New Testament, the debate for the resurrection needs to explain its agreement with ancient ... Show more content on

Although objections exist, the notion has been well accepted, along with the evidence that Christ, indeed, resurrected from the dead. As the Apostle
Paul states in 1 Corinthians 15:14, "And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain."
The resurrection account is one ingrained with rational analysis and textual affirmation or authentication, in the worldview of an advocate of
Christianity. Besides major resources featuring eyewitness accounts of the resurrection of Christ, advocates are confident in the sacrificial deeds of the
apostles following the crucifixion of Jesus. There can be no more clarification for the remarkable historic details that are accepted to be true except for
the authenticity or evidence of the resurrection. The Christian worldview holds authenticity in expressing worthiness of the resurrection. With the death
of the apostles as testimony, many are obligated to believe that Christ did in fact miraculously resurrect from the dead enabling many to possess a hope

The Resurrection Research Paper
The resurrection in the gospel message is very important to any reader/believer. Its very important for many reasons, first off the gospel would be
incomplete without the resurrection. If Jesus walked the earth and was the messiah, he was a healer, a sinless man, performed miracles, and taught
about the kingdom of God but then died then we would have no hope in the afterlife.
1 Cor 15:13–14 tells us "For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ was not raised, then all our
preaching is useless, and your trust in God is useless." So we must decide for ourselves if what we believe in is the truth or not, just examining the fact
we can see that Jesus has been raised from the dead, the tomb ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But this is our God, He does the unthinkable, He can blow someone's mind off with His miracles, and that's the kind of God I want to believe in.
The kind of God where nothing in my life is too hard for Him to take care of, the kind of God that either orders it or will use whatever's happened in
my life.
The resurrection is also important because it has accomplished four major things through out our history and the Bible.
1.) the resurrection is the vindication of Jesus Christ righteousness. This means that to be just and proven. In 1 timothy 3:16 we find that it says Jesus
appeared in His flesh and was shown to be righteous in His spirit.
2.) the demonstration of His power over sin and death. We learned that there are about seven scriptures in the old testament that prophesied about the
resurrection and tied with Jesus having power over sin and death. All of these scriptures were then fulfilled.
3) the resurrection is confirmed by His deity. Hosea 6>2 it says that in a short time he will restore us so that we can live in His presence. If there is no
resurrection then every witness is a false witness. Gods character would be called into

1 Corinthians 15: 1-11 Resurrection
The implications of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ are best discussed in 1 Corinthians 15:1–11 in which we see the struggles of the Christians in the
Greek city of Corinth living some twenty years after the resurrection. They were afraid of being disembodied souls or spirits after death because they
had not embraced the Christian belief that human beings will experience resurrection to eternal life. The apostle Paul addresses the Corinthians'
confusion by proclaiming the absolute reality of Christ's bodily resurrection. He reinforces the vital fact of the Christian faith as the resurrection of Jesus
Christ from the dead. If the story of the life of Jesus Christ had ended at the crucifixion, there would be no good news to share, no bold church ... Show

Paul's point is that if all we got out of Christ is a little inspiration for a few short years, if he was only a good moral teacher, then there's no foundation
for a church or religion. Christianity would have just been a small blip in the timeline of world religions. If there is no resurrection, trying to live a
life of spiritual wholeness wouldn't have seemed worth doing or worth teaching to others. Without the resurrection, every person who has ever lived
would be hopelessly lost in sin and without something to believe in. The hope inspired by the resurrection called people to the church by giving
them a reason to act morally and to trust in the teachings of the apostles. If Christ had remained dead, then when we died we would remain dead and
damned as the Bible says the reward of sin is death (Romans 6:23). But Christ indeed has risen from the dead and "has become the first–fruits of those
who have fallen asleep" (v. 20), assuring that we will follow Him in resurrection. This promised an afterlife for Christians and this motivated them to
join the church to save themselves and to convince the ones they loved to join as well. Both of these allowed it to spread and build upon itself to be

Jesus Resurrection Research Paper
Jesus' Resurrection is of paramount importance to the Christian faith and is a central component of this belief system. The account of the Resurrection
is so significant that "without it, there would have been no new story to tell," however these notions of rising from the dead is not exclusive or
originate solely with the Christian faith. As this essay will explore, the Resurrection account in the New Testament can be seen to be influenced by
ancient stories and beliefs circulating at the time of its composition. However, as the apostle Paul states in 1 Cor. 15:12–15, Jesus' Resurrection is key to
the beliefs held and identities of the Christian followers. Thus several traditional and important features this key story will also be explored. ... Show

Jesus' identity as a Messiah was very different from the beliefs of the time and the Messianic hopes of the various first century Jewish groups. This
role, associated with violence and ferocity was laughable to be associated with Jesus, who eventually died a painful and humiliating death on the
Cross. As explored by Wright, the Jewish nation as a whole at the time of Jesus' death believed that their Messiah would not succumb to death and
thus this turn of events was a very unexpected and a surprise. However, this role as a suffering Messiah is what makes Jesus' Resurrection so
different to the myths of the time as the concept of 'gratuity' is evoked. Jesus resurrected as described by Alison, is "entirely gratuitous" as Jesus is
able to give something to us which is beyond our merit and warrant. Jesus crucifixion at the Cross and Resurrection evokes the symbol of the
Paschal Lamb at the Passover, with Jesus acting as the Lamb, the sacrifice . Jesus dies on the Cross for us, complete and pure, and this Cross is the
ultimate symbol of his love and forgiveness for our sins as our own path to God is unlocked. This important message and loving function of the
Resurrection is unique to Jesus' story and is not seen to be reciprocated in the tales of the ancient world. In Ancient Mesopotamia the notion of people
rising from the dead may have been a belief commonly shared, however it was not associated with a greater cause done in a gratuitous fashion for
humanity, rather it was a power controlled by gods and goddesses which could be employed when they pleased as they passed through the kingdoms of
the dead and living. Thus, the nature of Jesus' loving forgiveness during his Resurrection is a defining characteristic of this central Christian belief, as
too is the additional factor of the circumstances surrounding the empty

John Stein's Account Of Jesus Resurrection From The Dead
The final chapter of Stein's book talks about Jesus' resurrection from the dead, his ascension into Heaven and Christians waiting for his eventual
return. This chapter describes the most important aspect of the life of Jesus. It also tells various beliefs on why the accounts of Jesus' resurrection are
true and negates the claims on why he didn't rise from the dead.
The facts as are stated are that Joseph put Jesus in a tomb. The tomb was then sealed so that no one could get into the tomb to steal the body. The last
fact of the matter is that there were guards guarding the tomb to make sure no one came to remove the body. There was an earthquake scaring the
guards of the tomb and they left to report it. Once the guards came back they realized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stein refutes these claims one by one. The first claim as to why he didn't come back to life is because simply the women who witnessed that there was
nobody in the tomb went to the wrong tomb and just saw an empty tomb. Stein denies this by saying that this it had already been stated that the tomb
Jesus had been buried in was a well–known tomb and the women couldn't mistake it for another. The nonbelievers claim that Joseph took the body,
this could not be the case for two reasons, one is that moving Jesus' body would be dishonor Jesus and the second is that the tomb was sealed and
under watch by guards. This is also the explanation Stein gives to the claim that the disciples stole the body to fulfill the prophecy that Jesus had laid
out when he said he would rise from the dead. The last piece of evidence given by the non–believers says that Jesus actually didn't die on the cross; he
was only severely injured and had woken up after his burial in the tomb. Stein negates this by saying that the Jews had used crucifixion before and
were fairly good at doing so, also they would have known a dead body if they saw

Explain Why The Tomb Was Empty
The workbook states that the most basic evidence was the empty tomb. "If the tomb was really empty and no natural explanation can be provided for it,
then Jesus did resurrect. Yet, many scholars and nonbelievers actually agree that the tomb was empty, but object to the resurrection by stating that there
are natural explanations as to why the tomb was empty." However, I want to suggest three more: First, Christ foretold His resurrection. The Bible
accounts that, "From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders
and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day" (Matthew 16:21). Although His disciples lacked the understanding of ...

For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins" (1 Corinthians 15:13–14, 16–17).
The Resurrection of Jesus is a testimony to the restoration or rebirth of humanity, which is a fundamental principle of the Christian faith. Distinct from
all other religions, Christianity by itself holds a Creator who exceeds or rises above death and who assures that His followers desires the same. All other
religions were established by men whose end was the permanent eternal grave. As Christians, we have consolation in the Truth thatGod became a man,
died for our transgressions, and rose from the dead on the third day. Death could not restrain Jesus Christ.
Despite where everyone stands on this matter, both Christians and atheists agree that the Resurrection is vitally important to Christianity. Because, if
the Resurrection were not true, we would still be in our sins. Both believers and non–believers agree that if Jesus rose from the dead, then we have a
rational sensible case that the claims of Christianity are true. If Jesus did not rise from the dead, then all of Christianity falls entirely and fails us

The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ
Introduction: I came across an article on BBC news written on April 9,2017 that stated, A quarter of people who describe themselves as Christians in
Great Britain do not believe in the resurrection of Jesus. To take the resurrection out of Christianity is like taking the heat out of fire, the darkness out
of the night, all the blood out of a man. Simply put, you cannot separate the resurrection from Christianity. The resurrection of Christ is the hinge on
which Christianity hangs. It is the foundation of our faith. Yet there are many who try to refute this momentous history of the church. Josh McDowell
said, "The resurrection of Jesus Christ is either one of the most wicked, vicious, heartless hoaxes ever foisted on the minds of human ... Show more

He was seen by the Apostles, and by over five hundred people at one time. It was inconceivable to deny bodily resurrection if Christ was raised from
the dead. Let's look at his argument.
V:12, Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? Paul
presents a dilemma to the believers at Corinth. On one hand, Paul preached to the Corinthians that Christ has been raised from the dead and the they
believed it. Let's look back at what Paul says at the beginning of chapter 15:1–3,11. "Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached
to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast to the word which I preached to you, unless
you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and
that He was buried, according to the Scriptures, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures... look at what he says in verse
11, whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed. Now they were buying into the lie that there is no resurrection of the dead. They
were inconsistent and illogical in their beliefs.
In verse 13 Paul's makes a simple point, if you deny the resurrection of the dead, then you denied the resurrection of Jesus. Listen to what he says, "But

The Resurrection Of Christ Jesus
"The Resurrection of Christ Jesus according to the Apostle Paul"
The example in the Gospels can express many examples of resurrection which delivers a strong
message In the New Testament. The term resurrection by Webster definition explains, "Life,
raising from the dead." The Greek defines it as, "A standing up again, recovery." John 11:25
explain Jesus speaking to Martha concerning her Brother Lazarus's death. He says, "I am the
resurrection, (standing up again), and the life (breath), he who believes in Me shall live even if
he dies." There is much to contemplate when death and life have expression, as to stand up and
breath.
The commencement of this information will be organized in several parts to search and compare
a topics of this essay. Theologians give commentary to this topic as well and explain historical
content to understand. Many have believed Christ had not resurrected but was taken away and
buried. Some believed it to be a rumor to validate that which had been preached among the many
disciples. Eyewitnesses came forth to speak what happened and to solidify and cancel rumors.
The Apostle Paul converted to Christianity receiving a one on one account with the risen Lord
during his reign of terrorism in his day. My goal is to gather information to focus on the
comparison and contrast to the subject, "The resurrection of Christ".

Research Paper On Paul's Views On Life After Death
Paul's last major topic, is theologically the most important, which highlights the afterlife. In addressing this topic, many Corinthians challenged Paul's
teaching about the afterlife for various reasons. One group questioned the necessity of a future bodily resurrection because they had negative views of
the physical body, making the concept of a future resurrection body undesirable. Another group denied Paul's concept of bodily resurrection because
they shared the Greek philosophical view that a future existence is purely spiritual.
Nonetheless, to demonstrate that bodily resurrection is a reality, Paul brings back to the Corinthians remembrance that Jesus rose from the dead. Paul
further argues that if there is no resurrection, then Christ

How Does Hume Support The Theories Of Resurrection
Resurrection is a Christian, materialist view that the body rises after death in a physical form, with the main evidence of this being the resurrection of
Jesus Christ. Resurrection is central to the Christian faith as it marks the start of Christianity from the Jewish scriptures. There are many differing
views about the plausibility of resurrection. Some may believe that resurrection is only based on theories, therefore not proved beyond doubt, and that
these theories don't make sense. Hard materialists such as Hume will support this view, saying that death is the end and the decomposing body is
evidence of that. However this opinion may not necessarily be true. The base of many theories of resurrection is the bible, which suggests that... Show

He argues that this is logical as if the first two arguments are believable then the final one must be too. St. Paul supports John Hick's theory that
there is another spiritual world. He says it is a logical argument, and uses a plant as evidence. Paul said 'when you sow a seed in the ground, it
doesn't sprout to life unless it dies'( 1 Corinthians V36) and 'God provides that seed with the body he wishes; he gives each seed its own proper body'(
1 Corinthians V38). Likewise with a person – it is a physical being and has the potential to become a 'mature spiritual person' in heaven in a replica
form with forces from God. This new body however, is different as it is immortal, non–physical and higher up in the hierarchy below God and angles.
This can be considered to be a logical conclusion as it supports the view from the bible that we are 'a little lower than angels'. It is also logical as it
makes sense to suggest that a miraculous event such as this would come from an all powerful being, and there is nothing more powerful than God.
As the resurrected place is spiritual it is not subject to the laws of nature, for example aging, so it is rational to suggest that they could be eternal as
the bodies are no longer in a physical world. Swinburne provides further evidence to support the evidence of the bible as in his book 'The existence of
God' he formulates the 'principle of credulity' which argues that any experience should be trusted as

N. T. Wrights Youtube Video: Death, Resurrection And The...
Death, Resurrection and the Afterlife: Death, resurrection and the afterlife have always been a topic of debate. The resurrection of the body itself has
been an even more discussed topic. In NT Wrights youtube video, "Death, Resurrection, and the Afterlife" he discusses this very subject. He says that
this question is rarely mentioned in the Old Testament. In the New Testament this topic does arise more often, but does not show a great significance.
However, he answers these questions. What is the importance of life after death during the time that Jesus lived? What are the teachings found in the
New Testament that relate to the resurrection of Jesus,? Why are the theological teachings of the resurrection necessary and what is the portrayal that
they Bible illustrates of a believer's death? Also, how will the resurrection effect the earth and how do the teachings in the Bible about death,
resurrection and the afterlife differ from what most Christians believe today. NT Wright begins his video with his explanation of Life After Death.

stated, they wanted to "work towards a loving, restorative and justice in the present world." Because of the fact that no one in the First Century
expected the Messiah to be crucified it was imperative that they got this message out. Also, with the knowledge of Jesus and a new understanding of
the Old Testament they were better equipped to do this. Without this knowledge, the theology of the Resurrection would be

The Christ Foretold By Old Testament Prophecy
Hebrew 9:27 states, it appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgement. Each and every man, women and child has an appointment with
death due to our sinful nature that separates us from our Creator God. Due to sin, mankind therefore is hopelessly lost and separate from God. But
God put into motion a plan to redeem lost humanity back to him. Being eternal, the plan of God does of course have a reasonable sequence; the
decision to let Jesus die on the cross follows the first decision to send him to the earth. God so love the world he sent his only begotten son Jesus to
show us the way back to him. Jesus made the claim that His death and resurrection fulfilled prophecy and proved Him to be the Christ foretold by
Old Testament prophecy. The main purpose of Jesus ' miracles was to confirm that His teaching was from God and His claims are accurate. When a
person has a message from God, it is important for an individual to decide whether or not this claim was true. If a man could perform deeds that are
impossible by natural law, people would then recognize God was in working through that person and would thus believe in his teachings. In many
ways, the resurrection of Jesus is the greatest phenomenon that ever occurred, and is supported by eyewitness testimony. It proves Jesus ' claims and
teaching are true. Surely, God would never have raised Jesus if He proved to be a false teacher and not who He claimed. The multitudes who heard the

being when "the present state of those who had died would be replaced by a future state in which they would be alive once more.
From researching the resurrection the evidence is overwhelming; however the proof is the disciples, telling the story of how each one of them saw Jesus

Proof of the Resurrection Jesus was raised from the dead can be proven. I have learned this from reading the book The Case for the Resurrection of
Jesus. All the points in this book are very solid proof of Jesus resurrection. The book clearly provides evidence which leads me to this Bible verse.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (KJV,
John 3:16). Jesus being raised from the dead has good solid evidence that it happened. I have learned from the minimal facts approach that one can

I think a main one would be that God does exist. If the Resurrection did not happen how could God even exist. God was the one who raised Jesus
from the dead. So, this gives evidence of God existing in Heaven. Habermas and Lincona said, "The writers of the New Testament asserted that it
was God who raised Jesus from the dead" (136). Someone might say that science proves no one comes back to life. Scientifically no one will rise
from the dead due to natural causes. It is not implied that Jesus came back to life naturally (Habermas and Licona 136). "The Resurrection is not an
isolated event; it occurred in an interconnected religo–historical context that helps to provide meaning, Habermas and Licona said (136). If the

The Resurrection Of Jesus The Christ
INTRODUCTION The Resurrection of Jesus the Christ validates who Jesus was and is. Jesus has, or had not been resurrected everything about Him is
annulled. Furthermore, it invalidates who we are as followers of Christ; the passage where this truth is emphasized more than any other is in John's
writing of his account of the Gospel with the foretold and predictions of the righteous, unrighteous, and of Jesus' own resurrection; John 5:24–29 . If one
was to look in the Holman Christian Apologetic Study Bible (Holman 2003), they may see a note that is in reference and a prediction (or prophecy)
of this passage of scripture that deals with Jesus (a person whom has already died an earthly death is in reference to Job) own resurrection, in which it
is found in Job (19:23–27); the Scripture says, "I wish that my words were written down, that they were recorded on a scroll or were inscribed in
stone forever by an iron stylus and lead! But I know my living Redeemer, and He will stand on the dust at last. Even after my skin has been
destroyed, yet I will see God in my flesh. I will see Him myself; my eyes will look at [Him], and not as a stranger. My heart longs within me." This
critique and analyze the following passage of Scripture that will outline the One whom is it that John is talking about (in the Gospel of St. John;
chapter 5 verses 24 thru 29); who is it that Jesus is talking, who shall be "judged" (is the righteous or the unrighteous); who is being addressed, and

Does Jesus Rise From The Dead
Is Jesus God? Well, we can explore that in many ways. One of the ways that we can know if he is God, is if we know whether not he rose from the
dead. And from this paper I would like to address a question, did Jesus truly rise from the dead? This paper will prove Jesus' resurrection by refuting
the objections of the reliability of Jesus' biographies and the swoon and stolen body theory, and by evidence from the Bible. There are however many
who disagree with this. We know that Jesus really rose from dead.
One of the biggest objections of Jesus Christ's resurrection is that the biographies of Christ are unreliable. There are four biographies in the bible;
they are called the four gospels. There are four gospels that consist of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Matthew was a disciple of Jesus, who wrote his
Gospels roughly twenty–five years after ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jesus resurrection matters because it tells us that Jesus was a man of power who sacrificed his life for me and you. In the book of John 19 it talks
about the sentencing of Jesus' death, which then leads to Jesus being placed on the cross. One of the major holidays that we celebrate is Easter
which is the celebration of Jesus resurrection, this shows us the importance of Jesus and his life. Once Jesus died on the cross he was placed in the
tomb and left there and guarded so that no one was able to see him. Even though there are some non–believers and people that suspect that the
resurrection never happened, there is proof that it did by the bible verses and evidence that are presented.
Thirdly, the center of Christianity is the resurrection, if you get rid of that, then you lose Christianity; so surely the early Christians did not make up the
one thing that makes their religion; there not going to fake the one thing that they believe in and die for it. Strobel

The Bodily Resurrection Of Jesus
The bodily resurrection of Jesus was the turning point of history and is central to the sermons throughout the book of Acts. To the apostles, the bodily
resurrection was not an isolated event. Instead, it could be considered as a "crowning seal to the whole unified revelation of God's redemptive plan,"
Acts begins with a statement that Jesus "appeared to the apostles from time to time, and he proved to them in many ways that he was actually
alive"(Acts 1:3 NLT). Peter states that being a witness of the resurrection was a fundamental qualification for apostleship (Acts 1:21–22), so the
resurrection assumes a vital place in the apostolic preaching. In Peter's sermon at Pentecost, he says, "God raised him from the dead freeing him from
the agony of death because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him" (Acts 2:24 NIV). Similarly, Peter refers to our Lord as "this Jesus"
whom "God raised up" (Acts 2:32). In later sermons Peter refers to Jesus as God's "servant" whom he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this case, biblical teachings emphasize the fact that God is eternal. Since Christ's bodily resurrection serves as a foundational aspect of the Christian
faith, it means that it represents the abundance and eternity of life as prophesied. The bodily resurrection of Christ looks forward to the future
resurrection of every individual that believe in God (1 Corinthians 15:13–18). Last year I held my dad's hand as he passed from this life. It was a sad
moment, because I will miss my dad. And at the same time, because of the resurrection of Jesus, I have hope. Death no longer is the end. The
resurrection of Jesus changed everything. The resurrection demonstrates that Jesus is the Christ who fulfills Jewish prophecies (Psalm 16). The Psalm

Review Of Mccullough's Argument For The Resurrection Of Jesus
The four "facts" and subsequent points listed in this article, are the most convincing argument for Christ's resurrection
1. After his crucifixion, Jesus was buried in the tomb by Joseph Arimathea.
2. On Sunday following the crucifixion, Jesus his tomb was found empty by a group of his woman followers.
3. On multiple occasions under various circumstances, different individuals and groups of people experienced appearances of Jesus alive from the dead.
4. The original disciples believe that Jesus was risen from the dead despite their having every predisposition to the contrary.
Reading through these arguments alone, I believe are very compelling with regard to the validity of the claims the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

I think upon reviewing these they are good general principles, however, as to whether each of these points have been satisfactorily meet is judged
individually by the one review the material. To the Christian mindsets, it is much easier to be convinced that all the areas outlined by McCullough have
been fulfilled. However, to the sceptic or critic these explanations may not hold the same credence. Nonetheless. I do believe that the evidence set forth
with regard to Christ's resurrection here and elsewhere in insurmountable and also meets McCullough's six criteria.
It has great explanatory scoop – which means that it explains well why there was an empty tomb and why so many claims have exist that Christ has
risen from the dead and was seen by many witnesses
It is great explanatory power – this means that it it sets forth why his body was never found despite the fact that it well documented that there was in
fact a execution
. It is plausible – This means that this makes clams. I believe this is one of the weaker points where those who are skeptics would say that to believe
that anybody could be raising dead is impossible. However, Jesus life itself clearly demonstrates that He Himself performed many miracles and the

Analysis Of The Book ' Lament For A Son '
Stages of Grief
Introduction
The book, Lament For a Son, written by Nicholas Wolterstorff talks about his pain and grief after losing his 25–year–old son (Joy, 2009). His son died
while on a mountain–climbing expedition. Dr. Wolterstorff has several books published during his career as a philosophical theology professor in
Yale Divinity. However, he wrote Lament for a Son with a different journal style since it is a personal thing for him. The book is similar to a journal
as he narrates the events that happened before and after his son's death. The emotions expressed in the book are common among people who lose close
relatives. What matters is how a person handles the issue. Kubler–Ross invented the five stages of grief; denial, anger, bargaining, depression and
acceptancethat explain the escalation of grief when stricken by bad news (Axelrod, 2004). The paper looks into the book and its relation to the five
stages of grief.
Question 1
As demonstrated by the five stages of grief, Dr. Wolterstorff suffers greatly emotionally as he deals with his son's death. In a bid to settle his
depression, he reads the Bible on similar experiences that people had (Wolterstorff, 1987). He finds hope after reading and comprehending aboutJesus

James 's Martyrdom As A Verifiable Origin For Information
James, the Half Brother of Jesus was Abruptly Transformed
There is not as much information about James as there is about Paul, but he is also significant for the evidence offered, and another witness as well.
The same reasoning can be utilized in regard to James because his belief is that he actually saw a resurrected Jesus and that he was ready to die for the
identical belief as Paul and the other disciples. "James's martyrdom is attested by Josephus, Hegesippus, and Clement of Alexandria. We no longer
have any of the works of Hegesippus or the writings of Clement where the event is mentioned. However, sections have been preserved by Eusebius.
Therefore, his martyrdom is attested by both Christian and non Christian sources." This fact ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here is where a resurrection appearance to James is discovered, leading to his transformation. Actually, "most scholars' think this was the reason James
became a believer." James, just like Paul, offers concrete evidence of someone being transformed to Christianity, after what they believed to be an
appearance of the resurrected Jesus.
Skepticism of History and Other Explanations
Reports or events of the ancient past are labored with practical naturalism, which prevents the discovery of miracles to be impartial historic evidence.
Peter Kirby, the creator of EarlyChristianWritings.com, asserts that, "Many scholars doubt the historicity of the empty tomb." Robert M. Price believes
that, "apologists love to make the claims ... that the resurrection of Jesus is the best attested event in history," however "probabilistic arguments"
demonstrate that "the resurrection is anything but an open–and–shut case."
Robert Greg Cavin, a Philosophy and Religion lecturer at Cypress College, asserts that, "our only sources of potential evidence, the New Testament
Easter traditions, fall far short of providing the kind of information necessary for establishing the resurrection hypothesis."
Bible researcher Geza Vermes examines this topic in the book, "The Resurrection." He assumes that there are eight achievable proposals to

Critique On The Resurrection Of Christ : Theological...
Critique In our second article critique we have to critique an article about "The Resurrection of Christ: Theological Implications" written by
Daniel B. Wallace. Before getting to the content in this article we must first talk some about the author. Daniel B. Wallace has taught Greek and
New Testament courses on a graduate school level since 1979. He has a Ph.D. from Dallas Theological Seminary, and is currently professor of
New Testament Studies at his alma mater. His Greek Grammar Beyond the Basics: An Exegetical Syntax of the New Testament (Zondervan, 1996)
has become a standard textbook in colleges and seminaries. He is the senior New Testament editor of the NET Bible. Dr. Wallace is also the
Executive Director for the Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts. In this article by Dr. Wallace he says that a number of Christians feel
that their gospel presentations should include simply the fact of Christ's death, but not his resurrection. some go so far as to have a crucifix in their
homes or around their necks with a corpse hanging on it. Certainly such a picture elicits remorse and pity. But does it offer hope? Does it suggest that
sins are forgiven, or just that they are the cause of such a vile punishment, of the innocent dying in the place of the wicked? He started his brief study
by taking a quick look at the resurrection in the Old Testament, followed by the resurrection of Christ in early Christian preaching. Dr.

Comparing The Afterlife In Hinduism And Christianity
Many religions differ in the way they believe a life will be after death. Hinduism and
Christianity both believe in an "afterlife" but in completely different ways. The Hindu term for an afterlife is reincarnation. This is when the soul is
eternal and returns into another physical body and completes this cycle of life many times. Christians believe in a life after death in
Heaven. They also believe in the resurrection of Jesus and other humans throughout history. His resurrection was after his crucifixion where he was
said to be risen again and in the same body form then ascended into heaven. Even though these ideas are very different there are still some similarities
with the concept of an afterlife.
First, what do the Hindus believe happens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Hinduism, it is shown that this cycle never ends and everybody's soul will return forever unless they gain spiritual insight to stop the cycle. The
motive for this cycle is to gain complete spiritual knowledge and learn more about meditative practices from the
Hindu religion only gods understand.
The first known reference of Hindu reincarnation was written in the Vedas, the ancient
Hindu scriptures. During the process of reincarnation, karma takes an important part in the soul.
Karma is essentially the good deeds and actions a person commits during his or her former lifetime before they enter a new body. Everything in
existence is considered to have two parts, the soul and a body structure. The soul will never die and never change when the physical body structure
does throughout each new reincarnation. There is no lasting heaven or hell in Hinduism since after death the soul will immediately retain a new
form. However, if one has bad karma and no intention of good deeds his soul can remain in hell for a short period of time but regain a new form in his
new life.

The initial theme of 1 Corinthians 15 appears as a vivid narrative containing an important argument about the resurrection. The resurrection causes

Therefore, first–fruits are the initial quantity brought into the view as part of human being and we cannot inseparable them from the whole resurrection

†Resurrection Is More Likely to Be True Than...
'Resurrection is more likely to be true than reincarnation.' Discuss
In discussing this statement, we must first define the words resurrection and reincarnation to decipher what they mean. Resurrection is the act of rising
from the dead or returning to life and reincarnation is the rebirth of a soul in a new body. There are many problems surrounding the two due to mainly
religious beliefs. I will be focussing mainly of the religion of Hinduism as they believe in reincarnation, and Christianity which believes in resurrection.
Reincarnation is a common belief in the eastern part of the world, with Buddhism as well as Hinduism, supporting the idea of rebirth. In Hinduism

He wrote a book, 'Twenty cases suggestive of reincarnation', where he looked at cases where people had seen to be reincarnated from someone
else in the past from India, Ceylon and Brazil. He used examples of children to make his judgement more reliable as they would not be influenced
by society or money in such a way that adults might. In one case there was a boy, Imad, who talked about a family whom he used to live with, and
the family had no connection to this other family at all. He gave the name of where he lived and the family name, events and people that he knew
there, and could even direct them to the area of where he used to live. Stevenson later found out that a man, Ibrahim, had died there and which
matched up to all the events that the man had seen. The reincarnation was not immediate but was nine years later. This extraordinary case gives strong
belief that reincarnation is true. However philosopher John Locke studied Steveson's book and suggests that the dead person has left behinf some
psycic traces or husks and therefore has a 'memory' of the previous life, and is therefore not reincarnated.
Reincarnation completely goes against the teachings of many other religions, such as Christianity, Islam and Judaism as resurrection is the key to their
religion. Without resurrection there would be no point to the religion. For

Status Quaestionis: A Survey of Related Literature As the study advances, it is worthwhile to note that resurrection of Jesus is a topic widely
discussed and has captured the interests of many commentators in the span of four decades or so ago. Aside from the commentaries on the Gospel of
Matthew, several studies appeared on the resurrection of Jesus and some of them are described below. The following sources are briefly discussed
each according to the dates of their publication. LADD, G.L. I Believe in the Resurrection of Jesus (1975). The work of G. L. Ladd provides a strong
historical argument for the bodily resurrection of Jesus in a brief but informative manner. His work focuses on the interaction between historical
evidence and faith and proposes the use of inductive historical method rather than the "scientific" historical–critical method. Thus, he stated, "We must
first appreciate the importance of the doctrine of the resurrection. We must make clear the problem of faith and history that so much colors the
contemporary discussion. Then our primary aim is to try to explain the rise of the resurrection faith." He also treats the Nature of the Gospels and the
Witness of the Gospels. The Nature of the Gospels is a brief treatment that sets forth Ladd 's conservative conclusions on the dates and trustworthiness
of the Gospels but consequently lays the foundation for his evaluation of the Witness of the Gospels. Moreover, Ladd also

Around the world, every spring, in many different types of celebrations, millions of people acknowledge that around twenty centuries ago Jesus Christ

for the created world.
The origin of the word Easter is uncertain. It is commonly thought to come from the name of the Teutonic Spring Goddess, Eastre [1]. Д’ostre or

The resurrection of Jesus from the dead is the foundation of the Christian system (cf. 1 Corinthians 15:14ff). Without the resurrection,Christianity
would be a deception. However, the resurrection is the certainty that all Christians should center their Christian experiences around. This being the case,
just what is the significance of Jesus' resurrection to the created world?
In this scientific age it is a challenge to believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. However, it was a challenge to believe it even to the Disciples
who were present. It is common knowledge and has been common knowledge even in the first century that dead people stayed dead. So it is
important to examine the events that led the earlier followers of Christ to believe that He was resurrected from the dead. As a frightened and
discouraged group the Disciples did not expect His resurrection to take place on Good Friday. In fact, it is not likely that they called the day Christ
was crucified Good Friday at all. N.T. Wright is the author of the book, 'The Resurrection of the Son of God' and he makes an argument for the

The Resurrection validates who Jesus is. If Jesus is not Resurrected everything about Him is invalidated. Furthermore, it invalidates who we are as
followers of Christ; the passage where this truth is emphasized more than any other is in Paul's writing of First Corinthians 15:12–19:
Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if
there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is

Jesus promised our enemy, the devil, and his destruction would begin with the defeat of his two biggest tools sin and death. Death is the separation
of man from God; God is Lord of the living. The truly dead spend eternality Satan in Hell where he wants them away from God. Reese says;
He who perishes is forever separated from God, Heaven, and a blessed eternal life. His destiny is to share the fate of Satan in the eternal torment of
Hell. In the Word "perished" is involve all that would follow if a man had no salvation, no atonement for sins. They will miss Heaven: they are
doomed, lost, damned.
If Jesus could not even be raised the dead, He would first be a liar and condemned to Hell. Secondly there would be no one to prove that
Resurrection is possible as Jesus claimed, then we would have to assume that death is our destiny forever. Furthermore, this means no one would see
Heaven either, because we too would still be dead and the work that secured Heaven for us is left uncompleted.
The saving work of Jesus that would free us from Hell was through His role as priest and sacrifice. He was the sacrifice to free us from Hell's penalty.
The shedding of blood the of the perfect sacrifice, and pouring on the altar was the only way to pay for sin. When Jesus was on the cross, it was as

The Resurrection Of Jesus Is The Focal Point Of Christianity
Introduction
There is far reaching agreement among researchers today, over a wide religious spectrum, that the resurrection of Jesus is the focal point of
Christianity, asserted by conventional believers in light of New Testament passages like 1 Corinthians 15:12–20; However, it is also declared by higher
analytical scholars, also. For instance, one of the current problems which face Christian theology is that the resurrection of Jesus plays a decisive part. If
the confidence and trust which are firmly associated to the resurrection is in doubt, there is a risk of jeopardizing everything to which a Christian
clings. The explanation and narrative of the chronological basis of the Resurrection of Jesus has been the focus of historical investigation and debate,
as well as a theme of discussion among theologians. The description of the Gospels, together with the empty tomb and the manifestation of the risen
Christ to His followers, have been observed as historic reports of a factual event, as exact versions of prophetic encounters, as dishonest eschatological
allegories, and as a lie invented by early Christian authors, with numerous interpretations. It has been proposed, for instance, that Jesus was never
crucified, that there was an empty tomb because the body of Christ was stolen, or that Jesus Christ was never in the grave.
"In Christian apologetics, no historical argument surpasses the resurrection of Jesus for its sheer evidential force."

1 Corinthians 15: The Belief In The Resurrection Of Jesus...
Belief in the resurrection of Christ is essential to Christian faith. In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul makes this point clear. Moreover, the chapter illustrates that
through Christ's death and resurrection we have been given victory over sin and death. Verses 1–10 are primarily concerned with the resurrection of
Christ and the grace given to the apostles to spread the good news. The resurrection of the dead is addressed in verses 12–34. Finally, the passage
closes (verses 35–58) with a proclamation of the victory attained through Jesus' resurrection.
First, Paul seeks to prove to the Corinthians that Christ was raised from the dead. It is the foundation of our faith. Therefore, no Christian should
partake in denying this foundational truth. He applies evidence from scripture and eyewitness accounts to prove that Christ's resurrection was far from
allegorical: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. He

though some have died. Then he was seen by James and later by all the apostles. Last of all, as though I had been born at the wrong time, I also saw

Comparing the Teaching on the Resurrection in I Corinthians and the Thessalonian Letters
The purpose of this paper is to compare the teaching on the resurrection of Jesus Christ as it is noted in Paul's letter to the Corinthians and
Thessalonian letters. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is one of the primary doctrines of study in the Bible because it reveals the victory that believers
have over death, hell and the grave. However, the belief in a bodily resurrection has been the central focus of controversy since the death of Jesus Christ.
So, before we begin with our comparison of Paul's teaching on the resurrection, we need to begin by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, in order for us to understand the basic elements for a resurrection, we must consider the following statement. "The spirit or the soul does
not die, and therefore the spirit or soul cannot be raised. Only the body can lie down in death, and only the body can stand up in the resurrection"
(McGee 396). This means that our body is only a temporary dwelling place because it will one day give way to corruption. The main teaching of the
early followers was of Christ dying for the sins of mankind, and then being resurrected on the third day. So, in order to understand the difference
between the teaching on the resurrection in the letter to the Corinthians and the Thessalonian letters, we must understand that the primary difference is
not found in the reality of a literal resurrection, but in the ones who will be resurrected. In I Corinthians chapter 15 Paul basically focuses on the
resurrection of Jesus Christ. This chapter is devoted to the understanding that Jesus was resurrected in order to give believers victory over the powers
of the grave. In I Corinthians 15 Paul tells us that some people believe that Christ has risen, but deny the fact

The Resurrection of the Dead
As with most other Pauline attributed documents, 1 Corinthians is believed to be a single document that addresses salient topics and rationalizes Paul's
view of faithfulness to Christ with Corinth citizens. The newly founded church of Corinth was in correspondence with Paul requesting his answers to
questions they posed on topics ranging from marriage to the resurrection of the dead; the latter being one of the most highlighted in 1 Corinthians.
Paul's assurance of resurrection illustrates a concern for Corinth as he admonishes their disbelief in resurrection of the dead with a series of
explanations as to why such doubt would render the faith of Christ "in vain". Given the context of the time, Paul's correspondence with Corinth clearly

A key passage on Christ's resurrection is 1 Corinthians 15. In this chapter, the apostle Paul explains why it is crucial to understand and believe in
Christ's resurrection. The resurrection is important for the following reasons: 1) If Christ was not raised from the dead, believers will not be either (1
Corinthians 15:12–15). 2) If Christ was not raised from the dead, His sacrifice for sin was not sufficient (1 Corinthians 15:16–19). Jesus' resurrection
proved that His death was accepted by God as the atonement for our sins. If He had simply died and stayed dead, that would indicate His sacrifice was
not sufficient. As a result, believers would not be forgiven for their sins, and they would remain dead after they die (1 Corinthians 15:16–19). There
would be no such thing as eternal life (John 3:16). "But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep" (1

vain". (1 Corinthians 15:14) Furthermore, "You are still in your sins!" Paul could not have chosen stronger language. (Mohler)
Still, the resurrection of Jesus Christ has been under persistent attacks since the Apostolic age. Why? Because it is the central confirmation of Jesus'
identity as the incarnate Son of God, and the ultimate sign of Christ's completed work of atonement, redemption, reconciliation, and salvation. Those
who oppose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For to this day the Manichees say that the resurrection of the Savior was phantom–wise, and not real." (Hanegraaff)
Like the church fathers, the medieval church and the Reformation produced compelling confessions concerning the bodily resurrection. Thomas
Aquinas condemns those who "have not believed in the resurrection of the body, and have strained to twist the words of holy Scripture to mean a
spiritual resurrection." the Westminster Confession assert: "On the third day he rose from the dead, with the same body in which he suffered; with
which also he ascended into heaven, and there sittith at the right hand of the Father." (Hanegraaff)
Finally, the characteristics of Christ's body bear eloquent truth to his physical resurrection. Jesus invited the disciples to examine His resurrected His
resurrected body so that they would know beyond the shadow of a doubt that it was the exact same one that had been fatally tormented. He also ate
food as proof of the nature of His resurrected body.
Jesus provided the final exclamation mark for His physical resurrection by telling the disciples that His resurrected body was comprised of "flesh and
bones." "Touch me and see;" He says, "a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have" (Luke 24:39).
Those who would attack the Church and reject its gospel must direct their arrows at the most crucial truth claim of the New Testament

Jill Farrant Essay
Kennedy Knaul
Core 2 – Science Review 2 " I wrote in my diary about a plant that had died and came back after the rain," Jill Farrant, a biology professor at Cape
Town University in South Africa recalled. She remembered stumbling across a resurrection plant at the age of nine and being amazed by its ability to
revive and seemingly immortal properties. Resurrection plants are able to "come back to life after death", meaning they act and seem dead in a
dormant state, but begin to revive within a few hours of being watered. Naturally, being a farmer's daughter, plants were a life passion for Farrant.
Experiencing a dead plant reviving after a rainfall started her interest in resurrection plants. "The dead plant on the rocks was alive but Dad ... Show

"In the same way that humans have bred plant species together over the centuries to create oats, maize, and wheat, so too can we breed
desiccation–tolerant (the ability of an organism to withstand or endure extreme dryness or drought–like conditions), drought resistant crops in the
Eragrostis (a family of perennial grasses) family without having to go the genetically modified route." She explains that all plants have the genes that
enable tolerance to periods with a lack of water, but most only use them when they make seeds. Resurrection plants, however, can also switch these
genes on in their leaves and roots whenever water isn't available. In response to desiccation, the cellular activity in resurrection plants can be
summarized as: Dehydration –> Activation of desiccation related genes –> Alterations in metabolism (Accumulation of protective solutes such as
sucrose, trehalose, and proline that stabilize proteins and cellular membranes. Production of antioxidant compounds such as galloylquinic acids.
Biochemical alterations in membrane and cell wall composition.) –> Production of protective proteins ("dehydrins" and "expansins" that help preserve
the structure of the cell walls of the

Mark 3-35 Analysis

  • 1. Mark 3-35 Analysis The three classifications are a direct and simplistic method for offering the initial evidence with regards to the disciples being convinced in accepting that Jesus rose and appeared to them. "First, we have Paul who claims to have known and fellowshipped with the disciples firsthand. He says that they said it. Second, we know of some very early oral tradition that was circulating within the church before the New Testament was even written and points to the disciples saying it. Third, we have written tradition that portrays or assumes the disciples saying that Jesus had appeared to them after He rose from the dead." When accepting or overlooking the New Testament, the debate for the resurrection needs to explain its agreement with ancient ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although objections exist, the notion has been well accepted, along with the evidence that Christ, indeed, resurrected from the dead. As the Apostle Paul states in 1 Corinthians 15:14, "And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain." The resurrection account is one ingrained with rational analysis and textual affirmation or authentication, in the worldview of an advocate of Christianity. Besides major resources featuring eyewitness accounts of the resurrection of Christ, advocates are confident in the sacrificial deeds of the apostles following the crucifixion of Jesus. There can be no more clarification for the remarkable historic details that are accepted to be true except for the authenticity or evidence of the resurrection. The Christian worldview holds authenticity in expressing worthiness of the resurrection. With the death of the apostles as testimony, many are obligated to believe that Christ did in fact miraculously resurrect from the dead enabling many to possess a hope ... • 2. The Resurrection Research Paper The resurrection in the gospel message is very important to any reader/believer. Its very important for many reasons, first off the gospel would be incomplete without the resurrection. If Jesus walked the earth and was the messiah, he was a healer, a sinless man, performed miracles, and taught about the kingdom of God but then died then we would have no hope in the afterlife. 1 Cor 15:13–14 tells us "For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ was not raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your trust in God is useless." So we must decide for ourselves if what we believe in is the truth or not, just examining the fact we can see that Jesus has been raised from the dead, the tomb ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But this is our God, He does the unthinkable, He can blow someone's mind off with His miracles, and that's the kind of God I want to believe in. The kind of God where nothing in my life is too hard for Him to take care of, the kind of God that either orders it or will use whatever's happened in my life. The resurrection is also important because it has accomplished four major things through out our history and the Bible. 1.) the resurrection is the vindication of Jesus Christ righteousness. This means that to be just and proven. In 1 timothy 3:16 we find that it says Jesus appeared in His flesh and was shown to be righteous in His spirit. 2.) the demonstration of His power over sin and death. We learned that there are about seven scriptures in the old testament that prophesied about the resurrection and tied with Jesus having power over sin and death. All of these scriptures were then fulfilled. 3) the resurrection is confirmed by His deity. Hosea 6>2 it says that in a short time he will restore us so that we can live in His presence. If there is no resurrection then every witness is a false witness. Gods character would be called into ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. 1 Corinthians 15: 1-11 Resurrection The implications of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ are best discussed in 1 Corinthians 15:1–11 in which we see the struggles of the Christians in the Greek city of Corinth living some twenty years after the resurrection. They were afraid of being disembodied souls or spirits after death because they had not embraced the Christian belief that human beings will experience resurrection to eternal life. The apostle Paul addresses the Corinthians' confusion by proclaiming the absolute reality of Christ's bodily resurrection. He reinforces the vital fact of the Christian faith as the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. If the story of the life of Jesus Christ had ended at the crucifixion, there would be no good news to share, no bold church ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Paul's point is that if all we got out of Christ is a little inspiration for a few short years, if he was only a good moral teacher, then there's no foundation for a church or religion. Christianity would have just been a small blip in the timeline of world religions. If there is no resurrection, trying to live a life of spiritual wholeness wouldn't have seemed worth doing or worth teaching to others. Without the resurrection, every person who has ever lived would be hopelessly lost in sin and without something to believe in. The hope inspired by the resurrection called people to the church by giving them a reason to act morally and to trust in the teachings of the apostles. If Christ had remained dead, then when we died we would remain dead and damned as the Bible says the reward of sin is death (Romans 6:23). But Christ indeed has risen from the dead and "has become the first–fruits of those who have fallen asleep" (v. 20), assuring that we will follow Him in resurrection. This promised an afterlife for Christians and this motivated them to join the church to save themselves and to convince the ones they loved to join as well. Both of these allowed it to spread and build upon itself to be the world wide institution it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Jesus Resurrection Research Paper Jesus' Resurrection is of paramount importance to the Christian faith and is a central component of this belief system. The account of the Resurrection is so significant that "without it, there would have been no new story to tell," however these notions of rising from the dead is not exclusive or originate solely with the Christian faith. As this essay will explore, the Resurrection account in the New Testament can be seen to be influenced by ancient stories and beliefs circulating at the time of its composition. However, as the apostle Paul states in 1 Cor. 15:12–15, Jesus' Resurrection is key to the beliefs held and identities of the Christian followers. Thus several traditional and important features this key story will also be explored. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jesus' identity as a Messiah was very different from the beliefs of the time and the Messianic hopes of the various first century Jewish groups. This role, associated with violence and ferocity was laughable to be associated with Jesus, who eventually died a painful and humiliating death on the Cross. As explored by Wright, the Jewish nation as a whole at the time of Jesus' death believed that their Messiah would not succumb to death and thus this turn of events was a very unexpected and a surprise. However, this role as a suffering Messiah is what makes Jesus' Resurrection so different to the myths of the time as the concept of 'gratuity' is evoked. Jesus resurrected as described by Alison, is "entirely gratuitous" as Jesus is able to give something to us which is beyond our merit and warrant. Jesus crucifixion at the Cross and Resurrection evokes the symbol of the Paschal Lamb at the Passover, with Jesus acting as the Lamb, the sacrifice . Jesus dies on the Cross for us, complete and pure, and this Cross is the ultimate symbol of his love and forgiveness for our sins as our own path to God is unlocked. This important message and loving function of the Resurrection is unique to Jesus' story and is not seen to be reciprocated in the tales of the ancient world. In Ancient Mesopotamia the notion of people rising from the dead may have been a belief commonly shared, however it was not associated with a greater cause done in a gratuitous fashion for humanity, rather it was a power controlled by gods and goddesses which could be employed when they pleased as they passed through the kingdoms of the dead and living. Thus, the nature of Jesus' loving forgiveness during his Resurrection is a defining characteristic of this central Christian belief, as too is the additional factor of the circumstances surrounding the empty ... • 5. John Stein's Account Of Jesus Resurrection From The Dead The final chapter of Stein's book talks about Jesus' resurrection from the dead, his ascension into Heaven and Christians waiting for his eventual return. This chapter describes the most important aspect of the life of Jesus. It also tells various beliefs on why the accounts of Jesus' resurrection are true and negates the claims on why he didn't rise from the dead. The facts as are stated are that Joseph put Jesus in a tomb. The tomb was then sealed so that no one could get into the tomb to steal the body. The last fact of the matter is that there were guards guarding the tomb to make sure no one came to remove the body. There was an earthquake scaring the guards of the tomb and they left to report it. Once the guards came back they realized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Stein refutes these claims one by one. The first claim as to why he didn't come back to life is because simply the women who witnessed that there was nobody in the tomb went to the wrong tomb and just saw an empty tomb. Stein denies this by saying that this it had already been stated that the tomb Jesus had been buried in was a well–known tomb and the women couldn't mistake it for another. The nonbelievers claim that Joseph took the body, this could not be the case for two reasons, one is that moving Jesus' body would be dishonor Jesus and the second is that the tomb was sealed and under watch by guards. This is also the explanation Stein gives to the claim that the disciples stole the body to fulfill the prophecy that Jesus had laid out when he said he would rise from the dead. The last piece of evidence given by the non–believers says that Jesus actually didn't die on the cross; he was only severely injured and had woken up after his burial in the tomb. Stein negates this by saying that the Jews had used crucifixion before and were fairly good at doing so, also they would have known a dead body if they saw ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Explain Why The Tomb Was Empty The workbook states that the most basic evidence was the empty tomb. "If the tomb was really empty and no natural explanation can be provided for it, then Jesus did resurrect. Yet, many scholars and nonbelievers actually agree that the tomb was empty, but object to the resurrection by stating that there are natural explanations as to why the tomb was empty." However, I want to suggest three more: First, Christ foretold His resurrection. The Bible accounts that, "From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day" (Matthew 16:21). Although His disciples lacked the understanding of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Distinct from all other religions, Christianity by itself holds a Creator who exceeds or rises above death and who assures that His followers desires the same. All other religions were established by men whose end was the permanent eternal grave. As Christians, we have consolation in the Truth thatGod became a man, died for our transgressions, and rose from the dead on the third day. Death could not restrain Jesus Christ. Despite where everyone stands on this matter, both Christians and atheists agree that the Resurrection is vitally important to Christianity. Because, if the Resurrection were not true, we would still be in our sins. Both believers and non–believers agree that if Jesus rose from the dead, then we have a rational sensible case that the claims of Christianity are true. If Jesus did not rise from the dead, then all of Christianity falls entirely and fails us ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ Introduction: I came across an article on BBC news written on April 9,2017 that stated, A quarter of people who describe themselves as Christians in Great Britain do not believe in the resurrection of Jesus. To take the resurrection out of Christianity is like taking the heat out of fire, the darkness out of the night, all the blood out of a man. Simply put, you cannot separate the resurrection from Christianity. The resurrection of Christ is the hinge on which Christianity hangs. It is the foundation of our faith. Yet there are many who try to refute this momentous history of the church. Josh McDowell said, "The resurrection of Jesus Christ is either one of the most wicked, vicious, heartless hoaxes ever foisted on the minds of human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He was seen by the Apostles, and by over five hundred people at one time. It was inconceivable to deny bodily resurrection if Christ was raised from the dead. Let's look at his argument. V:12, Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? Paul presents a dilemma to the believers at Corinth. On one hand, Paul preached to the Corinthians that Christ has been raised from the dead and the they believed it. Let's look back at what Paul says at the beginning of chapter 15:1–3,11. "Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, according to the Scriptures, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures... look at what he says in verse 11, whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed. Now they were buying into the lie that there is no resurrection of the dead. They were inconsistent and illogical in their beliefs. • 8. The Resurrection Of Christ Jesus "The Resurrection of Christ Jesus according to the Apostle Paul" The example in the Gospels can express many examples of resurrection which delivers a strong message In the New Testament. The term resurrection by Webster definition explains, "Life, raising from the dead." The Greek defines it as, "A standing up again, recovery." John 11:25 explain Jesus speaking to Martha concerning her Brother Lazarus's death. He says, "I am the resurrection, (standing up again), and the life (breath), he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies." There is much to contemplate when death and life have expression, as to stand up and breath. The commencement of this information will be organized in several parts to search and compare a topics of this essay. Theologians give commentary to this topic as well and explain historical content to understand. Many have believed Christ had not resurrected but was taken away and buried. Some believed it to be a rumor to validate that which had been preached among the many disciples. Eyewitnesses came forth to speak what happened and to solidify and cancel rumors. The Apostle Paul converted to Christianity receiving a one on one account with the risen Lord

In addressing this topic, many Corinthians challenged Paul's teaching about the afterlife for various reasons. One group questioned the necessity of a future bodily resurrection because they had negative views of the physical body, making the concept of a future resurrection body undesirable. Another group denied Paul's concept of bodily resurrection because they shared the Greek philosophical view that a future existence is purely spiritual. Nonetheless, to demonstrate that bodily resurrection is a reality, Paul brings back to the Corinthians remembrance that Jesus rose from the dead. • 11. How Does Hume Support The Theories Of Resurrection Resurrection is a Christian, materialist view that the body rises after death in a physical form, with the main evidence of this being the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Resurrection is central to the Christian faith as it marks the start of Christianity from the Jewish scriptures. There are many differing views about the plausibility of resurrection. Some may believe that resurrection is only based on theories, therefore not proved beyond doubt, and that these theories don't make sense. Hard materialists such as Hume will support this view, saying that death is the end and the decomposing body is evidence of that. However this opinion may not necessarily be true. The base of many theories of resurrection is the bible, which suggests that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He argues that this is logical as if the first two arguments are believable then the final one must be too. St. Paul supports John Hick's theory that there is another spiritual world. He says it is a logical argument, and uses a plant as evidence. Paul said 'when you sow a seed in the ground, it doesn't sprout to life unless it dies'( 1 Corinthians V36) and 'God provides that seed with the body he wishes; he gives each seed its own proper body'( 1 Corinthians V38). Likewise with a person – it is a physical being and has the potential to become a 'mature spiritual person' in heaven in a replica form with forces from God. This new body however, is different as it is immortal, non–physical and higher up in the hierarchy below God and angles. This can be considered to be a logical conclusion as it supports the view from the bible that we are 'a little lower than angels'. It is also logical as it makes sense to suggest that a miraculous event such as this would come from an all powerful being, and there is nothing more powerful than God. As the resurrected place is spiritual it is not subject to the laws of nature, for example aging, so it is rational to suggest that they could be eternal as the bodies are no longer in a physical world. Swinburne provides further evidence to support the evidence of the bible as in his book 'The existence of God' he formulates the 'principle of credulity' which argues that any experience should be trusted as ... The resurrection of the body itself has been an even more discussed topic. In NT Wrights youtube video, "Death, Resurrection, and the Afterlife" he discusses this very subject. He says that this question is rarely mentioned in the Old Testament. In the New Testament this topic does arise more often, but does not show a great significance. However, he answers these questions. What is the importance of life after death during the time that Jesus lived? What are the teachings found in the New Testament that relate to the resurrection of Jesus,? Why are the theological teachings of the resurrection necessary and what is the portrayal that they Bible illustrates of a believer's death? Also, how will the resurrection effect the earth and how do the teachings in the Bible about death, resurrection and the afterlife differ from what most Christians believe today. • 13. The Christ Foretold By Old Testament Prophecy Hebrew 9:27 states, it appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgement. Each and every man, women and child has an appointment with death due to our sinful nature that separates us from our Creator God. Due to sin, mankind therefore is hopelessly lost and separate from God. But God put into motion a plan to redeem lost humanity back to him. Being eternal, the plan of God does of course have a reasonable sequence; the decision to let Jesus die on the cross follows the first decision to send him to the earth. God so love the world he sent his only begotten son Jesus to show us the way back to him. Jesus made the claim that His death and resurrection fulfilled prophecy and proved Him to be the Christ foretold by Old Testament prophecy. The main purpose of Jesus ' miracles was to confirm that His teaching was from God and His claims are accurate. When a person has a message from God, it is important for an individual to decide whether or not this claim was true. If a man could perform deeds that are impossible by natural law, people would then recognize God was in working through that person and would thus believe in his teachings. In many ways, the resurrection of Jesus is the greatest phenomenon that ever occurred, and is supported by eyewitness testimony. It proves Jesus ' claims and teaching are true. Surely, God would never have raised Jesus if He proved to be a false teacher and not who He claimed. The multitudes who heard the Jesus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. The Resurrection Of Jesus The Christ INTRODUCTION The Resurrection of Jesus the Christ validates who Jesus was and is. Jesus has, or had not been resurrected everything about Him is annulled. Furthermore, it invalidates who we are as followers of Christ; the passage where this truth is emphasized more than any other is in John's writing of his account of the Gospel with the foretold and predictions of the righteous, unrighteous, and of Jesus' own resurrection; John 5:24–29 . If one was to look in the Holman Christian Apologetic Study Bible (Holman 2003), they may see a note that is in reference and a prediction (or prophecy) of this passage of scripture that deals with Jesus (a person whom has already died an earthly death is in reference to Job) own resurrection, in which it is found in Job (19:23–27); the Scripture says, "I wish that my words were written down, that they were recorded on a scroll or were inscribed in stone forever by an iron stylus and lead! But I know my living Redeemer, and He will stand on the dust at last. Even after my skin has been destroyed, yet I will see God in my flesh. I will see Him myself; my eyes will look at [Him], and not as a stranger. My heart longs within me." This critique and analyze the following passage of Scripture that will outline the One whom is it that John is talking about (in the Gospel of St. John; chapter 5 verses 24 thru 29); who is it that Jesus is talking, who shall be "judged" (is the righteous or the unrighteous); who is being addressed, and ... This paper will prove Jesus' resurrection by refuting the objections of the reliability of Jesus' biographies and the swoon and stolen body theory, and by evidence from the Bible. There are however many who disagree with this. We know that Jesus really rose from dead. One of the biggest objections of Jesus Christ's resurrection is that the biographies of Christ are unreliable. • 18. The Bodily Resurrection Of Jesus The bodily resurrection of Jesus was the turning point of history and is central to the sermons throughout the book of Acts. To the apostles, the bodily resurrection was not an isolated event. Instead, it could be considered as a "crowning seal to the whole unified revelation of God's redemptive plan," Acts begins with a statement that Jesus "appeared to the apostles from time to time, and he proved to them in many ways that he was actually alive"(Acts 1:3 NLT). Peter states that being a witness of the resurrection was a fundamental qualification for apostleship (Acts 1:21–22), so the resurrection assumes a vital place in the apostolic preaching. In Peter's sermon at Pentecost, he says, "God raised him from the dead freeing him from the agony of death because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him" (Acts 2:24 NIV). Similarly, Peter refers to our Lord as "this Jesus" whom "God raised up" (Acts 2:32). In later sermons Peter refers to Jesus as God's "servant" whom he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His son died while on a mountain–climbing expedition. Dr. Wolterstorff has several books published during his career as a philosophical theology professor in Yale Divinity. However, he wrote Lament for a Son with a different journal style since it is a personal thing for him. The book is similar to a journal as he narrates the events that happened before and after his son's death. The emotions expressed in the book are common among people who lose close relatives. What matters is how a person handles the issue. The saving work of Jesus that would free us from Hell was through His role as priest and sacrifice. He was the sacrifice to free us from Hell's penalty. The shedding of blood the of the perfect sacrifice, and pouring on the altar was the only way to pay for sin. • 31. The Resurrection Of Jesus Is The Focal Point Of Christianity Introduction There is far reaching agreement among researchers today, over a wide religious spectrum, that the resurrection of Jesus is the focal point of Christianity, asserted by conventional believers in light of New Testament passages like 1 Corinthians 15:12–20; However, it is also declared by higher analytical scholars, also. For instance, one of the current problems which face Christian theology is that the resurrection of Jesus plays a decisive part. If the confidence and trust which are firmly associated to the resurrection is in doubt, there is a risk of jeopardizing everything to which a Christian clings. The explanation and narrative of the chronological basis of the Resurrection of Jesus has been the focus of historical investigation and debate, as well as a theme of discussion among theologians. The description of the Gospels, together with the empty tomb and the manifestation of the risen Christ to His followers, have been observed as historic reports of a factual event, as exact versions of prophetic encounters, as dishonest eschatological allegories, and as a lie invented by early Christian authors, with numerous interpretations. It has been proposed, for instance, that Jesus was never crucified, that there was an empty tomb because the body of Christ was stolen, or that Jesus Christ was never in the grave. "In Christian apologetics, no historical argument surpasses the resurrection of Jesus for its sheer evidential force." Despite the powerful robust ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. 1 Corinthians 15: The Belief In The Resurrection Of Jesus... Belief in the resurrection of Christ is essential to Christian faith. In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul makes this point clear. Moreover, the chapter illustrates that through Christ's death and resurrection we have been given victory over sin and death. Verses 1–10 are primarily concerned with the resurrection of Christ and the grace given to the apostles to spread the good news. The resurrection of the dead is addressed in verses 12–34. Finally, the passage closes (verses 35–58) with a proclamation of the victory attained through Jesus' resurrection. First, Paul seeks to prove to the Corinthians that Christ was raised from the dead. It is the foundation of our faith. Therefore, no Christian should partake in denying this foundational truth. He applies evidence from scripture and eyewitness accounts to prove that Christ's resurrection was far from allegorical: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Comparing the Teaching on the Resurrection in I Corinthians and the Thessalonian Letters The purpose of this paper is to compare the teaching on the resurrection of Jesus Christ as it is noted in Paul's letter to the Corinthians and Thessalonian letters. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is one of the primary doctrines of study in the Bible because it reveals the victory that believers have over death, hell and the grave. "The spirit or the soul does not die, and therefore the spirit or soul cannot be raised. Only the body can lie down in death, and only the body can stand up in the resurrection" (McGee 396). This means that our body is only a temporary dwelling place because it will one day give way to corruption. The main teaching of the early followers was of Christ dying for the sins of mankind, and then being resurrected on the third day. So, in order to understand the difference between the teaching on the resurrection in the letter to the Corinthians and the Thessalonian letters, we must understand that the primary difference is not found in the reality of a literal resurrection, but in the ones who will be resurrected. In I Corinthians chapter 15 Paul basically focuses on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This chapter is devoted to the understanding that Jesus was resurrected in order to give believers victory over the powers of the grave. After his wife dies, the King realizes his wrongdoings. Sixteen years go by and suddenly a recently completed statue of Hermione comes to life, an allusion to the resurrection of Jesus. In Act 5 Scene 3, the sculptor, Paulina says, "'Tis, time, descend, be stone to more, approach". She continues to say "Bequeath to death your numbness, for him dear life redeems you." The newly founded church of Corinth was in correspondence with Paul requesting his answers to questions they posed on topics ranging from marriage to the resurrection of the dead; the latter being one of the most highlighted in 1 Corinthians. A key passage on Christ's resurrection is 1 Corinthians 15. In this chapter, the apostle Paul explains why it is crucial to understand and believe in Christ's resurrection. The resurrection is important for the following reasons: 1) If Christ was not raised from the dead, believers will not be either (1 Corinthians 15:12–15). 2) If Christ was not raised from the dead, His sacrifice for sin was not sufficient (1 Corinthians 15:16–19). Jesus' resurrection proved that His death was accepted by God as the atonement for our sins. If He had simply died and stayed dead, that would indicate His sacrifice was not sufficient. As a result, believers would not be forgiven for their sins, and they would remain dead after they die (1 Corinthians 15:16–19). There would be no such thing as eternal life (John 3:16). Jill Farrant Essay Kennedy Knaul Core 2 – Science Review 2 " I wrote in my diary about a plant that had died and came back after the rain," Jill Farrant, a biology professor at Cape Town University in South Africa recalled. She remembered stumbling across a resurrection plant at the age of nine and being amazed by its ability to revive and seemingly immortal properties. Resurrection plants are able to "come back to life after death", meaning they act and seem dead in a dormant state, but begin to revive within a few hours of being watered. Naturally, being a farmer's daughter, plants were a life passion for Farrant. Experiencing a dead plant reviving after a rainfall started her interest in resurrection plants. She explains that all plants have the genes that enable tolerance to periods with a lack of water, but most only use them when they make seeds. Resurrection plants, however, can also switch these genes on in their leaves and roots whenever water isn't available.
