7. ARGUMENTATIVE TEXT
• Intended to persuade and convince the
audience in terms of communicative functions.
•The term “argumentation” is used to define
the operation of justifying an opinion or thesis
through the reasoning (or argument), with the
aim of changing the views of other person or
merely communicating our own ideas.
8. •Through technology, you are able to read,
watch and listened to a lot of information.
These information may influence you to
believe certain ideas and push you to take
some form of action. Some information may
also dissuade you from believing or doing for
others.
9. •Many writes use argumentative text
to persuade the readers to agree
their points of view. Writer do so, not
just by presenting information, but by
showing the pros and cons of an issue.
10. •In extracting information from an
argumentative text, you must be able
to note the issue and the supporting
(pros) and opposing (cons) opinions
about the issue.
11. ACTIVITY: Students will decide which topic they will
choose to argue. They will be divided into 2 depending
on their point of view if they are pros or cons.
