Taylor swift brand
1. Brand image- Taylor
Swift
Iconography
This font is used throughout Taylor’s first three albums (Taylor Swift, Fearless and
Speak Now), and on her perfumes ‘Enchanted’ and ‘Wonderstruck Enchanted’,
making this a recognisable feature of all of Taylor’s products, not just her albums. It
is featured on all of her merchandise in shops and available at her concerts.
2. Look
Taylor Swift sports a red
lipstick which is now seen as
her statement look. Her 4th
album was named ‘RED’,
and this contributed to her
branding image.
She is well known for her
natural blonde hair which has
been styled in various ways
over the span of her career.
Her most well-known hair
style is long, curly hair which
features on the cover of her
first 3 albums.
Her makeup is usually quite
natural, with the exception of
the red lipstick and her bold
winged eyeliner that gives
her a cat eye effect.
3. MIse- en- scene
Here, it is shown props used commonly early
in Taylor’s career are cowboy boots and
guitars. The pictures show her to favour a
particular guitar at her live performances,
which fans would be able to identify in the
crowd. Her style in the early years consisted of
sundresses and cowboy boots, when she most
associated with the Country genre. In the more
recent years, her music has edged towards the
Pop genre, as has her style. As of 2015, Taylor
has entered her 20’s, growing into a woman
from the teenager she was in 2006 when her
first album was released. Now, when she
appears at events such as the Grammy’s and
the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, she is
most likely to be wearing a floor length dress,
commonly with slits to showcase her long legs.
This mirrors her maturing personality
throughout career.
4. Themes of social media
A theme Taylor sways towards on social
media such as Twitter and Instagram is
showcasing her pet cats. This then
became the topic of gossip websites
and celebrity news websites, informing
fans whenever she had posted a new
picture. It also became a humorous
running joke about her love of animals.
She is well known for her pet cats and her charitable
ways to a multiple collection of charities including:

5. Taylor Swift as a brand face
Taylor was contacted by the brand KEDs, and asked to be the face of the brand in 2012. She became the model
for the advert and still is in 2015, and was asked whether she would like to design a novelty pair to help promote
her new album at the time ‘RED’. These then went on sale and sold successfully, contributing to the successful
sales of her album.
