2. RESEARCH INTO ROCK
MAGAZINE’S COLOUR SCHEMES
All of the real rock magazines shown above use a similar colour scheme. Trending
colours appear to be black, white, red and grey. From this market research I now have
an ideas of what colour scheme I will be using in my magazine. Even though this is not
the colour scheme I have noticed that these magazines use close-ups/ mid shots of
their cover models looking directly at the audience. This is something I will consider as I
feel this is an effective convention to draw the reader in.
3. MY COLOUR SCHEME
To create my
colour scheme
I used the
website adobe
colour CC
I then moved the dots
around the colour wheel, to
select the shades that I
would be using in my
magazine.
Finally I was happy with my choice of four
colours, grey, black, white and red. I am
happy with my decision as I feel that I
have taken the positive conventions from
my market research magazines and
applied them to my own rock music
magazine.
