LIFE BEFORE AND AFTER CORONA VIRUS:
WILL THIS PANDEMIC AFFECT OUR LIFE?
DR. SONALI N.CHANNAWAR
INTRODUCTION
There are two sides to every coin. If we become a little thoughtful about this pandemic,
it’s no denying the fact that it has turned bane for many and boon for some. The spread of
coronavirus has impacted the entire world’s economy and that too at large. Millions of people
have lost their jobs and so many are still getting laid off. The unemployment rate is at peak.
Almost every company has reduced the salary and wages of their staff. Employees are working
from home and some are even asked to go on leave without pay. Hospitability industries have
gone for toss. The pandemic has now started transforming the urban life. Who must have
thought that an invisible virus which can’t be seen through naked eyes will originate from the
crowded city (Wuhan) of China will be taking lives all around the world? The entire world went
on a lockdown in order to defeat Coronavirus.
• History might have seen so many pandemics around the world from centuries to centuries
and I am sure that our generation now has very tragic stories to pass on to next generation.
As we all have no idea how are we going to deal with these tiny invisible demons that almost
brought us all into a condition where we all got hunkered down at home. COVID-19 has
rapidly affected our day to day life, businesses, disrupted the world trade and movements
identification of the disease at an early stage is vital to control the spread of virus because it
is very rapidly spreads from person to person .Most of the countries have slowed down their
manufacturing of the products. (Jin YH & Cheng ZS, 2020); (Campbell D, 2020).The
various industries and sectors are affected by the cause of this disease; these include the
pharmaceuticals industry, solar power sector, tourism, Information and electronics industry.
This virus creates significant knock -on effects on the daily lifer of citizens, as well as about
the global economy (Haleem, Javaid, & Vaishya, 2020).
What is Coronavirus?
Coronavirus is a large family of viruses which may cause illness in animals or humans. In
humans, several coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections ranging from the
common cold to more serve diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome(SARS) (WHO, 2019).
What is COVID-19?
COVID-19 is the infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus. This
new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, December
2019.COVID-19 is now a pandemic affecting many countries globally (WHO, 2019).
What is Pandemic?
Pandemic is a disease spread a large area or overall country speedily.

• Before Coronavirus:
Man is a social animal and to advance and grow in life it’s important for him to get socially
active. Life was going with beauty, happiness, crowd, love, excitement, entertainment, pressure,
tension; all positive and negative aspects was the part of life and those things moved happily
because people knowns how the problem handle according to situation. People enjoyed the life
with our daily hectic schedule and whole day, they were work hardly but they fulfil the needs and
requirement of families. Everyone was busy in work and life was going without fear and terror.
Suddenly it can be change on 14th march 2020, first lockdown was start. Change the whole
India’s map. Just some words were left; Stay Safe, Stay Home.
• After Coronavirus:
Lockdown 1, lockdown 2, lockdown 3, lockdown 4, mask, sanitization, social distancing,
these types words are remained. Life surrounded by these words only. Life just going but
without enthusiasm, excitement and entertainment still somewhere fear for family to keep
them safe from corona virus because we are going to work and they are at home. Spreading
rate of corona increase day by day. Its influences the life of public while working in any area.
All are not easy to survive with corona period and fear for family to safe them mostly old age
and kids due to less immunity.
• WILL THIS PANDEMIC AFFECT OUR LIFE? Yes
Question arises: Are we safe? Are we happy? How to earn money? Will my job continue? How to
take care of my family? What will be the future of children? How much time take for opening the
school and college? These questions are continuing strike in mind. How life is. Education, coaching
centers, Job, physical and mental illness, Mall, travelling, hotels all are targeting the life. Urban life
will be at risk. Though there will always be a constant inevitable fear of infection from virus
which will keep on haunting both elderly and young population when they are out of their
home. When most of us are accustomed with our new routines of working remotely via
countless zoom, WebEx, Microsoft team, google meet video conferences, we may even want to
flee to rural environment from cities. If we notice it’s no denying the fact that people who were
mostly getting affected by COVID19 were all settled in urban areas, but the pandemic has now
even started to affect people at countryside.
• It’s actually a matter of major concern that now when the pandemic has started spreading in
densely populated slums, as well as amongst the people lacking access to adequate, affordable, secure
shelters and medical care facilities, there is a probability that in a coming days just staying at home
will have no meaning until and unless people get accessibility to basic health facilities and safe
shelters and surroundings.
• This pandemic has already worsened the city life and resulted failure in addressing fundamental
equalities and basic human rights. It is very important for local authorities to actively try reducing
these inequalities so that everyone can live with dignity post COVID19. If we talk about good things,
it might happen that city will become less crowded now than before. This is an era of
industrialization, may be people will again start reconsidering farming and agriculture as their new
occupation. Commercial sex will be totally out of business. A fair practice of social distancing and
hygiene will be maintained. People will become more cautious, careful and disciplined. Life in a city
will definitely change. People would only travel and use transport for more personal reasons in order
to maintain social distancing. Travel via international and domestic flight might become a tough task.
For cost saving, working from home will always be an option and office meetings will be replaced
with teleconferencing or cloud-based sharing. Office space would come at much lower rate as no one
would want to take it on rent.
• People would start investing more on security and safety appliances and property rate would
go high. City air will be cleaner and city life will not be expensive like before. Millions of people
die in a road accident every year; we can bring back the life on road without bringing back the
traffic. By avoiding traffic and congestion we will reduce pollution, accidents and we will even
able to maintain a good climate condition. We can reset our travelling habit from cars to foot,
bike, cycles and public transportation. There should be a freedom for not owning a car. Most of
the people travel to office using public transports, so it will important to endure new safety
protocols to keep passengers and public transport workers safe. Medical and healthcare system
of every country has to be very strong and no one should be left behind.
• In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, few industries have fallen as far and as fast as
tourism. The technological revolution that brought us closer together by making travel and
tourism easy and affordable- a revolution that fueled one billion trips a year -is helpless in
halting a virus that demands we shelter in place (Becker, 2020).Stay home and self-isolate even
with minor symptoms such as cough, headache, mild fever, until you recover. Have someone
bring you supplies. If you need to leave your house, wear a mask to avoid infecting others. Why?
Avoiding contact with others will protect them from possible COVID-19 and others viruses
(WHO, 2019).
• Problem facing Area
 Gyms, Mall and salons might shut down for some time.
 Parents worried about children future.
 People from rural places will stop migrating to cities for work.
 A significant number of salaried workers lost their jobs, including the loss of wage work to millions of
those in the unorganized sectors.
 Education still closed. No examination, no admission it’s very worst condition for students they suffer
most.
 Increase rate of Groceries, petrol and daily needs things.
 Travelling companies and travelling industry losses more.
 In private sector break down of economy.
 Expenses increase in Covid-19 period due to lockdown all are in stay in home like electricity, water use,
extra groceries.
 The COVID-19 pandemic brings travel to a standstill, causing massive job and revenue losses (Becker,
2020).
• Conclusion
We will win the life from COVID-19. Only need to follow the precautions, keep healthy environment, well
immunity is necessary for life. People trying to continue their life with corona situation. The concern is not
how and when this pandemic is going to end, it might end in coming weeks or it might take years and
centuries for us to overcome. It’s important for us that we should only consider the present situation: As
this is the new normal. The scientists are already working for its vaccine; let’s be hopeful that sooner or
later we will find a way to defeat these viruses. It can take a long time to go out- possibly years. All we
need to question is – Do we have an imagination and a vision to secure our future and survive in this
corona era? No doubt it is a massive scientific and societal challenge. Let’s us hope for the best because
hope is a beautiful thing.
• This pandemic gives us an opportunity to create a more ecofriendly, safe and resilient city. More the
traffic more the pollution, if this becomes the new normal there is probability that city would witness
some fresh air just like villages. There will be less eating out and people will generally prefer eating
homemade food for their safety and for maintaining hygiene. Public cinemas will turn into home
cinemas and we will get more time to spend time with our families. This might again give us all a
chance to practice yoga at home which will increase our immunity. Most favorite places like bars,
restaurants, pubs, malls will be gone but there is also a possibility that it will be replaced by some
new concepts and infrastructure. People with weak immune system and the elderly people may avoid
travelling, meeting others and living in the cities. They will rather prefer living in countryside to get
some fresh air. Whereas the city will be reshaped with younger, fitter, more risk tolerant population.
“Save the environment, Save the life”.

Life Before and After Corona Virus:Will This Pandemic Affect Our Life?

  • 1. LIFE BEFORE AND AFTER CORONA VIRUS: WILL THIS PANDEMIC AFFECT OUR LIFE? DR. SONALI N.CHANNAWAR
  • 2. INTRODUCTION There are two sides to every coin. If we become a little thoughtful about this pandemic, it’s no denying the fact that it has turned bane for many and boon for some. The spread of coronavirus has impacted the entire world’s economy and that too at large. Millions of people have lost their jobs and so many are still getting laid off. The unemployment rate is at peak. Almost every company has reduced the salary and wages of their staff. Employees are working from home and some are even asked to go on leave without pay. Hospitability industries have gone for toss. The pandemic has now started transforming the urban life. Who must have thought that an invisible virus which can’t be seen through naked eyes will originate from the crowded city (Wuhan) of China will be taking lives all around the world? The entire world went on a lockdown in order to defeat Coronavirus.
  • 3. • History might have seen so many pandemics around the world from centuries to centuries and I am sure that our generation now has very tragic stories to pass on to next generation. As we all have no idea how are we going to deal with these tiny invisible demons that almost brought us all into a condition where we all got hunkered down at home. COVID-19 has rapidly affected our day to day life, businesses, disrupted the world trade and movements identification of the disease at an early stage is vital to control the spread of virus because it is very rapidly spreads from person to person .Most of the countries have slowed down their manufacturing of the products. (Jin YH & Cheng ZS, 2020); (Campbell D, 2020).The various industries and sectors are affected by the cause of this disease; these include the pharmaceuticals industry, solar power sector, tourism, Information and electronics industry. This virus creates significant knock -on effects on the daily lifer of citizens, as well as about the global economy (Haleem, Javaid, & Vaishya, 2020).
  • 4. What is Coronavirus? Coronavirus is a large family of viruses which may cause illness in animals or humans. In humans, several coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections ranging from the common cold to more serve diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome(SARS) (WHO, 2019). What is COVID-19? COVID-19 is the infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus. This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, December 2019.COVID-19 is now a pandemic affecting many countries globally (WHO, 2019). What is Pandemic? Pandemic is a disease spread a large area or overall country speedily.
  • 6. • Before Coronavirus: Man is a social animal and to advance and grow in life it’s important for him to get socially active. Life was going with beauty, happiness, crowd, love, excitement, entertainment, pressure, tension; all positive and negative aspects was the part of life and those things moved happily because people knowns how the problem handle according to situation. People enjoyed the life with our daily hectic schedule and whole day, they were work hardly but they fulfil the needs and requirement of families. Everyone was busy in work and life was going without fear and terror. Suddenly it can be change on 14th march 2020, first lockdown was start. Change the whole India’s map. Just some words were left; Stay Safe, Stay Home.
  • 7. • After Coronavirus: Lockdown 1, lockdown 2, lockdown 3, lockdown 4, mask, sanitization, social distancing, these types words are remained. Life surrounded by these words only. Life just going but without enthusiasm, excitement and entertainment still somewhere fear for family to keep them safe from corona virus because we are going to work and they are at home. Spreading rate of corona increase day by day. Its influences the life of public while working in any area. All are not easy to survive with corona period and fear for family to safe them mostly old age and kids due to less immunity.
  • 8. • WILL THIS PANDEMIC AFFECT OUR LIFE? Yes Question arises: Are we safe? Are we happy? How to earn money? Will my job continue? How to take care of my family? What will be the future of children? How much time take for opening the school and college? These questions are continuing strike in mind. How life is. Education, coaching centers, Job, physical and mental illness, Mall, travelling, hotels all are targeting the life. Urban life will be at risk. Though there will always be a constant inevitable fear of infection from virus which will keep on haunting both elderly and young population when they are out of their home. When most of us are accustomed with our new routines of working remotely via countless zoom, WebEx, Microsoft team, google meet video conferences, we may even want to flee to rural environment from cities. If we notice it’s no denying the fact that people who were mostly getting affected by COVID19 were all settled in urban areas, but the pandemic has now even started to affect people at countryside.
  • 9. • It’s actually a matter of major concern that now when the pandemic has started spreading in densely populated slums, as well as amongst the people lacking access to adequate, affordable, secure shelters and medical care facilities, there is a probability that in a coming days just staying at home will have no meaning until and unless people get accessibility to basic health facilities and safe shelters and surroundings. • This pandemic has already worsened the city life and resulted failure in addressing fundamental equalities and basic human rights. It is very important for local authorities to actively try reducing these inequalities so that everyone can live with dignity post COVID19. If we talk about good things, it might happen that city will become less crowded now than before. This is an era of industrialization, may be people will again start reconsidering farming and agriculture as their new occupation. Commercial sex will be totally out of business. A fair practice of social distancing and hygiene will be maintained. People will become more cautious, careful and disciplined. Life in a city will definitely change. People would only travel and use transport for more personal reasons in order to maintain social distancing. Travel via international and domestic flight might become a tough task. For cost saving, working from home will always be an option and office meetings will be replaced with teleconferencing or cloud-based sharing. Office space would come at much lower rate as no one would want to take it on rent.
  • 10. • People would start investing more on security and safety appliances and property rate would go high. City air will be cleaner and city life will not be expensive like before. Millions of people die in a road accident every year; we can bring back the life on road without bringing back the traffic. By avoiding traffic and congestion we will reduce pollution, accidents and we will even able to maintain a good climate condition. We can reset our travelling habit from cars to foot, bike, cycles and public transportation. There should be a freedom for not owning a car. Most of the people travel to office using public transports, so it will important to endure new safety protocols to keep passengers and public transport workers safe. Medical and healthcare system of every country has to be very strong and no one should be left behind. • In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, few industries have fallen as far and as fast as tourism. The technological revolution that brought us closer together by making travel and tourism easy and affordable- a revolution that fueled one billion trips a year -is helpless in halting a virus that demands we shelter in place (Becker, 2020).Stay home and self-isolate even with minor symptoms such as cough, headache, mild fever, until you recover. Have someone bring you supplies. If you need to leave your house, wear a mask to avoid infecting others. Why? Avoiding contact with others will protect them from possible COVID-19 and others viruses (WHO, 2019).
  • 11. • Problem facing Area  Gyms, Mall and salons might shut down for some time.  Parents worried about children future.  People from rural places will stop migrating to cities for work.  A significant number of salaried workers lost their jobs, including the loss of wage work to millions of those in the unorganized sectors.  Education still closed. No examination, no admission it’s very worst condition for students they suffer most.  Increase rate of Groceries, petrol and daily needs things.  Travelling companies and travelling industry losses more.  In private sector break down of economy.  Expenses increase in Covid-19 period due to lockdown all are in stay in home like electricity, water use, extra groceries.  The COVID-19 pandemic brings travel to a standstill, causing massive job and revenue losses (Becker, 2020).
  • 12. • Conclusion We will win the life from COVID-19. Only need to follow the precautions, keep healthy environment, well immunity is necessary for life. People trying to continue their life with corona situation. The concern is not how and when this pandemic is going to end, it might end in coming weeks or it might take years and centuries for us to overcome. It’s important for us that we should only consider the present situation: As this is the new normal. The scientists are already working for its vaccine; let’s be hopeful that sooner or later we will find a way to defeat these viruses. It can take a long time to go out- possibly years. All we need to question is – Do we have an imagination and a vision to secure our future and survive in this corona era? No doubt it is a massive scientific and societal challenge. Let’s us hope for the best because hope is a beautiful thing.
  • 13. • This pandemic gives us an opportunity to create a more ecofriendly, safe and resilient city. More the traffic more the pollution, if this becomes the new normal there is probability that city would witness some fresh air just like villages. There will be less eating out and people will generally prefer eating homemade food for their safety and for maintaining hygiene. Public cinemas will turn into home cinemas and we will get more time to spend time with our families. This might again give us all a chance to practice yoga at home which will increase our immunity. Most favorite places like bars, restaurants, pubs, malls will be gone but there is also a possibility that it will be replaced by some new concepts and infrastructure. People with weak immune system and the elderly people may avoid travelling, meeting others and living in the cities. They will rather prefer living in countryside to get some fresh air. Whereas the city will be reshaped with younger, fitter, more risk tolerant population. “Save the environment, Save the life”.
