This document provides information about COVID-19 including its origin, spread, figures, features of an epidemic, types of epidemics, and the roles of common people, government, and advantages and lessons from the pandemic. It discusses that coronaviruses usually cause respiratory illnesses in humans and animals. COVID-19 is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus and was likely spread from animals to humans. It has now affected over 45 lakh people worldwide. The roles of common people, government, and advantages discussed include promoting social distancing, hygiene, lockdowns, increasing healthcare infrastructure, helping those in need, using this time for self-improvement, and bringing more unity.
3. Origin
Coronaviruses are a group of related RNA Viruses that cause diseases
in mammals and birds. In humans, these viruses cause respiratory tract
infections that can range from mild to lethal. Mild illnesses include some
cases -of the common cold (which is caused also by certain other viruses,
predominantly rhinoviruses), while more lethal varieties can
cause SARS, MERS, and COVID-19
In the public mind, the origin story of coronavirus seems well fixed: in
late 2019 sombat the now world-famous Huanan seafood market in
Wuhan was infected with a virus from an animal.
Chine has tried very hard to inreveal the fact for a long time, and did
every way to shut the mouths of those who tried to inform the world.
But, how long? Recent studies has some what proved that it was all
intended. How the virus created is still not created, whether it natually
evolved or it was created. But it is very much cleared that it is
spreaded intentionally.
4. USA since last month has accused China for the guilt and emphasized
that if it was intented then they are gonna suffer. But WHO didn’t
agreed with it. But now the WHO also believe that China is the culprit.
In a recent report it was said that China became well-Known about the
spread of Corona Virus in the country in September last year, but still
they went on to organize World Army Competition where more than
10000 sportsmen from 140 different countries had participated, and
most of them got ill during the event. It proves that China has
intentionally speard the virus in the world, in order to control the
world system.
The novel coronavirus is called SARS-CoV-2 and causes a disease
named Covid-19. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared
its outbreak a global emergency.
5. Figures
From latest update, the leathal virus has pounced on more than 45
lakh people worldwide, though the numbers may be larger since not
each and everyone is tested. Among these more than 3 lakh people
have died and about 17 lakh people have recovered. The origin china
has been lowered to the 11 position in case tally. Initially, rate of new
cases was increasing rapidly in Italy, though now it has gone under
control. At present time, USA is suffering the most. Over 14Lakh cases
and more than 86 thousand deaths has been reported.
India on the other hand is somewhat at a better position than the rest
of the world, courtesy of right decision at the right time. Here is 82
thousands total cases out of which nearly 2 thousands 7 hundred
people have died and more than 27 thousands people have recovered.
6. Features of an EPIDEMIC
An epidemic is the rapid spread of disease to a large number of
people in a given population within a short period of time.
Epidemics of infectious disease are generally caused by several
factors including a change in the ecology of the host population
(e.g., increased stress or increase in the density of a vector
species), a genetic change in the pathogen reservoir or the
introduction of an emerging pathogen to a host population (by
movement of pathogen or host). Generally, an epidemic occurs
when host immunity to either an established pathogen or newly
emerging novel pathogen is suddenly reduced below that found in
the endemic equilibrium and the transmission threshold is
exceeded.
Certain epidemics occur at certain seasons. For example,
whooping-cough occurs in spring, whereas measles produces two
epidemics, one in winter and one in March. Influenza, the common
cold, and other infections of the upper respiratory tract, such as
sore throat, occur predominantly in the winter.
7. Types
Common source outbreak
In a common source outbreak epidemic, the affected individuals had
an exposure to a common agent.
Propagated outbreak
In a propagated outbreak, the disease spreads person-to-person.
Affected individuals may become independent reservoirs leading to
further exposures.
Many epidemics will have characteristics of both common source
and propagated outbreaks (sometimes referred to as mixed
outbreak).
8. Role of Common People
The virus that causes COVID-19 is harmful and infectious for all ages of
people. But two group of people are at higher risks. One is the group of
people in the age range of more than 60 years and the other who have
underlying medicine conditions such as Cardiovascular disease, chronic
respiratory diseases, Diabetes, various kinds of Cancer etc. And that
doesn’t mean that other people are out of danger. Everyone can be
affected if the guidelines given by WHO and the country are not abided
by.
1. Always keep an 1 meter distant from outside peoples, prefer bowing
instead of handshaking.
2. Wash hand with soap and sanitizers and suggest others to do so.
3. Regularly wash and clean you home and places used most of the time.
4. Try not to go outside, and stay at home following lockdown. If it badly
need to go for any requirement then make sure you use masks, keep
safe distance to whoever you meet, and returning home wash hands and
legs with sanitizer and remove your clothes for washing.
9. 5. Take care of yourself and you family members. Spend a lot of time
with them to get rid of monotomy. Follow you passions at home, do
yogas and exercise. Different activities like gardening, cooking,
drawing, dancing, singing and others. You may complete your pending
works.
6. Stay connected to your relatives and friends over social media,
encourage them about good future and suggest them to follow the
guidelines.
7. Spread global messages. If you can then donates to care funds to
help peoples in distress.
8. If you feel any kind of illness according to corona virus symptoms
visit clinics or nearby hospital and do according to their suggestions.
9. Be firm enough to prevent entry of stangers in your locality, or first
listen their reason of coming and then allow them. Keep safe
distance. For any disputes regarding these inform local police. For any
local cases inform the police as well.
10. Stay updated to what is going on daily. Inform or discuss with
others. You can also give any suggestions about vaccines you think can
be a good option for cure.
10. Role of Government
The Indian government has announced several preventive measures to minimise the
entry and spread of the coronavirus in the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is
continuously reviewing the country’s preparedness in combating the COVID-19
pandemic in India while both the state and central governments continue to
announce new measures and responses to deal with the current situation. To ensure
constant monitoring and address queries, a 24X7 control room has been launched.
The state government has to issue a high alert and the police has to be warned
that those who come from coronavirus-affected countries need to report to health
authorities or else they will be prosecuted
2. As a measure to contain the spread of Covid-19 schools and colleges should
be closed as long as lockdown occures.
3. Cancel all public functions
4. The government should urge people to stay away from functions, religious
gatherings
5. Theatres across the state have to be put under lockdown.
6. Setting up isolation cells in jails for inmates suspected to be infected with
corona virus
11. 8. Increase no. Of medical hospitals special for Coronavirus
treatment. Increase the infrastructure.
9. Help the people who are staying away from home due to lockdown
to reach home as soon as pissible.
10. Thinkbabout how to spread foods and groceries to the citizens.
11. New schemes to help the people in distress.
12. Improving the system of testing so that each and every citizen
gets testes.
13. Encourage the scientists to invent vaccines to cure the virus.
14. Spreading messages about social distancing and other guidelines
to be safe.
15. Have a good relation with neighbouring countries, helping them if
they can. As this is not a local danger. Ots a global problem and united
we can stand.
12. Art of living:
The Art of Living offers numerous highly effective educational
and self-development programs and tools that facilitate the
elimination of stress and foster deep and profound inner peace,
happiness, and well-being for all individuals. These programs,
which include breathing techniques, meditation, yoga, and
practical wisdom for daily living, have helped millions around the
world to transform their lives completely.
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar established a foundation named the
Art of Living. The Art of Living Foundation is a volunteer-based,
humanitarian and educational non-governmental organization. It
was founded in 1981.
"The Art of Living is more of a principle, a philosophy of living life
to its fullest. It is more a movement than an organization. Its core
value is to find peace within oneself and to unite people in our
society – of different cultures, traditions, religions, nationalities;
and thus reminding us all that we have one goal to uplift human
life everywhere." - Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
13. During these Lockdown
In these Lockdown period, do the same things at your home. Yes, staying
at home week after week is really boring and breath-taking, specially in
this era. But whatelse to do. What happened has happened. We should
not waste our time figuring out who is the culprit. Rather than these we
should look for self improvement. Or rather in PM Modi’s verse, become
self-dependent.
Find different ways to tackle stress, anxiety and fill your daily life with
joy. When the Corona virus will be gone, we will all be changed or rather
improved. Our art of living will be changed. This lockdown period is a
learning lesson for everyone. But till then we have to wait. Since this
virus is not natural, it can’t be cured soon.
So we have to get accustomed to the changes. Like, wearing masks in
public, washing hands, keeping safe distance and promoting a typical
Indian gesture of bowing to the peaples and doing Namaste rather than
shaking hands.
14. Lockdown is a great opportunity for us to improve ourselves. Both physically
and mentally.
Do yogas and exercises on daily basis. These helps you to grow both
physically and mentally.
Do meditation. Atleast start, if not yet and believe me it’s not tough.
Follow your dreams, obviously those which you can fulfill by staying at
home. Like drawing, dancing, singing, gardening, blogging, writing, reading,
making creative things, teaching through youtube or other social networks,
photography, videography and many more. There is no end by which you can
keep yourself busy and entertained. The fact is we didn’t had time before,
now we have. So go for it. Also spread social awareness.
Spend quality time with your family members, support them, help them in
what they are doing. Know them more.
If you have any pets then you’ve got a bonus. Get to know him/her more.
Be connected to your relatives and friends through social media and
encourage them. Make them learn the importance of self improvement.
Try to solve any conflicts you have with someone and get united.
And lastly, do introspection. You can’t imagine what its role is in daily life.
15. Protect the Future
While many apocalyptic predictions are being made about a post-
Covid-19 world, it can act as a wake-up call for all of us, as
individuals, as a society and as a country. Life after Covid-19 will not
— and should not — be the same. It will call for a change in priorities,
in focus and in the way we do things. In a post-Covid-19 world, there
needs to be a course-correction. While it is virtually impossible to
predict what the next pathogen threat will be, from where it will
emerge and when it will strike, pandemic-focused research could
give us a future head start in the battle against infectious diseases.
India has a very important role to play in this battle. Given the long
history of this type of diseases in our country, we have accumulated
years of experience and scientific knowledge to prevent and treat
them.
And a way it is to get self-dependent and improve from all directions.
And we should promote the moto of “Cleanliness is next to
Godliness” more and more.
16. Advantages and Lessons
This epidemic has obviously been harmful to everyone. But it has given some
lessons as well.
Firstly, the whole world has changed during these Lockdown. The biggest
outcome has been Ozone layer has shown improvement. The nature has changed
itself to a better direction. The pollution level has drastically decreased. The
Global Warming issue has also been lowered as well.
Secondly, people has learnt that disputes over religion is pointless. Ultimately
what matters is health. “Health is Wealth”. Many are still doing the disputes,
which can’t be stopped.
Thirdly, be rich or poor ultimately all are same. For foods everyone has to gather
in queue in hardship.
Forthly, brotherhood. One of the advabtages is that we all have got united against
one thing, one problem. We are supporting each other with whatever we can, and
in return we are getting the same as well.
And many.
So stay home, stay safe, follow your dreams and help others.
