1 Define Strategy. Describe the different strategy levels in an organization
Answer: How you define yourbusiness strategy will determine the direction of your business and
whatit will looklike inthe future. By defining your business strategy clearly, you can develop your
business or growth plan to achieve your business and personal goals.
Remember, you cannot be all things to all customers. You do not have to be the market leader to
compete successfully, but you do need to focus on your company’s strengths to find a way to
differentiate from other competitors.
2 Define Organizational Culture. Discuss the dimensions of organizational culture. Explain Charles
Handy’s classification of organizational culture
Answer : Organizational culture reflects the values, beliefs, and norms that characterize an
organization as a whole.
Organizational culture isthe behaviorof humanswhoare part of an organization and the meanings
that the people attach to their actions. Culture includes the organization values, visions, norms,
working language, systems, symbols, beliefs and habits. It is also the pattern of such collective
behaviorsand assumptions that are taught to new organizational members as a way of perceiving,

4 What do you mean by Human Resource Information System (HRIS)? Describe the various
modules of HRIS. Discuss some of the HRIS software.

management, and accounting functions within a business. Normally packaged as a data base,

a) Trait theory
Answer : In 1936, psychologist Gordon Allport found that one English-language dictionary alone
containedmore than4,000 wordsdescribingdifferentpersonalitytraits. He categorized these traits
into three levels:
 Cardinal Traits: These are traitsthat dominate an individual’s whole life, often to the point
that the personbecomesknownspecificallyforthese traits. People with such personalities
oftenbecome soknownfor these traits that their names are often synonymous with these

ERG theory was developed by organizational behavior scholar Clayton Alderfer to everyone the
