1. Evaluation:
1) For my magazine frontcover,Imanagedto follow the conventionsof areal magazine.The
image I editedwasalarge midshot and I putmy textonthe lefthandside of the page.I
includedthe date,abarcode and the reasonable price whichis£1. I have stuckwithone
colourscheme throughoutthe whole processof creatingthe magazine frontcover,contents
page and double page spread.The coloursare mainlyred,blackandwhite.Ialsousedthe
same fontstyle whichisEras BoldITC. I thinkthat the mastheadof the magazine meetsthe
conventionsbecauseitlookslike apropermagazine frontcover.Mycontentspage meets
the conventionsof areal magazine too because I have includedapromotionof subscribing
to monthlymagazines,Ialsoincludedtwoimages; one of myself alongsidethe editor’s
message andan image of ‘Blonette’.The popbandIcreatedfor mymusicmagazine.Asfor
my double page spread,itfocusesmore onBlonette.itincludestothe mainimage of the
bandon the leftpage followedbyaquestionandanswertextboxesonthe oppositepage.I
put the page numbersonthe two pageswhichis05 and 06.
2) My mediaproductrepresentsaparticulargroupof people love popmusicbecause of what
the magazine featuresandthe article isappropriate.
3) I researchedthe ipcmediawebsite,andIfoundoutthat theyownbrandsthat are mainlyfor
middle agedpeople.Theyonlysell NMEwhichisalternative,rockandindie music.SothenI
wentto researchBauerMedia.It isa Germancompanyand has manymore brands names
than IPCMedia. I wouldchoose BauerMediaas the mediainstitutiontodistribute my
magazine because the mediacompanyfocusesitself more onmusicmagazinesthan
magazinesthatwouldattract richand middle agedpeople.
4) The target audience I originallyplannedittobe was 13-16 year oldgirlsbutthenI changed
the age range 16-18 teenof bothgenders.Thisisbecause of the coloursI usedinmy
magazine.The colourswere the mainthingthatchangedmy mindonthe target audience of
my magazine. Iattractedmy target audience byusingthe eye catchingcolourssuchasred,
blackand white;the redcolourmakesitstand out.
5) The software I usedformy frontcoverand my contentspage wasPhotoshopCS6. I had to
manipulate 5imagesusinganumbersof tools. Asfor my double page spreaditwaseasierto
use InDesignCS6. I usedslideshare,Prezi,YouTube andEmaze topresentmyworkon my
blog(shannonsloyanasmedia.wordpress.com).
6) Lookingback at mypreliminarytask,Ihave improvedmassivelybecausebeforecomingonto
the AS Mediacourse I hadn’thad a clue about Photoshoporanythinglike that.Formytask I
usedwordto create a magazine frontcoverwhichwasaboutmy school.Itis notas goodas
my musicmagazine because everythinghasstaying initsspace butas for wordit movesall
the imagesandtextall out of place and doesn’tlookgreatwhenyouopenupthe document.
