• The chipset manages and
directs the flow of information
between each item.
4. RAM
•Random Access Memory
•Holds data and software
that is currently running
•Temporarily holds data
and is the computers
“working” memory
5. Video Card
• Allows the computer to
display videos on a
monitor, TV, or projector.
6. Power Supply
• Supplies the electrical power for a
computer.
• It supplies power to the
motherboard, drives, and some
expansion cards.
• Has at least one fan that helps to
cool the power supply and also
helps to cool the computer.
7. Hard Drive
• The main, and usually largest, data
storage hardware device in a
computer.
• The operating system, software
titles, and most other files are
stored in the hard disk drive.
• The hard drive is sometimes
referred to as the "C drive“.
8. Optical Drive
• Uses a laser to read or write CD’s
• Optical drives retrieve and/or store data on
optical discs like CDs, and DVDs
• Some computers no longer come with a
built-in disc drive, you can copy the files from
the disc to a flash drive.
