AIESEC IN AHMEDABAD
YEAR REPORT | OGCDP 2014
1
History:
AIESEC in Ahmedabad was started in 1983 in India’s finest Business School IIM – Ahmedabad. It has been 31
years already and we have a very strong history and a rich culture known to develop leaders for tomorrow.
Outgoing Exchange for Student Sector is a portfolio is the only portfolio that has grown immensely in last 5 years.
This portfolio ever since its inception has been an underperforming portfolio with highest exchange experiences
delivered in a year being 29 in 2013. Ahmedabad is a city which is the largest city in Gujarat having all sort of
educational institutions, wide range of fields and students, 29 experiences are not what anyone would expect. To
provide you with some hard facts, Ahmedabad has around 200 colleges in and around the city with more than 15
fields and more than 75 disciplines. The scope is huge, it always has been huge. The question we have faced in
all these years of our existence is: “Can we make it happen for the city where young people require such a
beautiful and intense AIESEC experience which does not only make them more employable but also provides
them with a wider horizon of ideas”. Outgoing Global Community Development Program holds a very unique and
a special relevance for the city and more importantly for the students of the city. It can truly change the way these
young students look at this world and also the way they look at our city.
2014 has been the best year for the portfolio not only in terms of exchanges but also in terms of the relevance of
every exchange. It has set a benchmark for upcoming generations for not only quantity but also for quality. 2014
has been a year of perseverance, emotions and selflessness. It has been a journey to relevance and credibility.
2014 has all been about building a portfolio which shall last long and shall deliver happiness to many more.

This is a unique
project. However, it is
important to include it
as a project since it
does not only aim at
building stronger
teams but eventually
building stronger,
sustainable units
delivering high
quality experiences
with best quantity.

2014 | The Year:
This year has only been about two things as I also mentioned before. Will to Act and Courage.
The year saw quite a few ups and downs but the only thing that was constant throughout the year
was an unwavering faith in the purpose. 2014 I believe has defined the scope and the
possibilities this program offers to the city. This year has also been about people. Human capital
was stressed upon and human resource was valued. Members, Team Leaders, Exchange
Participant etc. played the biggest role in the year by giving their best to their experience to
experience the time of their life. Sheer determination to succeed make things simpler, even
though they were not and it also proved vital for the kind of team experience it delivered. 2014
made a point to this city and to this local committee. It proved one thing to us: “It is your choices
that defines who you truly are, far more than your abilities”.
"Of every one hundred men in battle ten should not even be there. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are
the real fighters. We are lucky to have them since they make the battle. Ah, but the one--one is the warrior-
-and he brings the others home." – Heracles
