This document provides instructions for a lesson on using Pro Desktop 3D CAD software. Students will learn the advantages of 3D CAD by creating various electronic device enclosures and exporting them into orthographic projections. Performance will be assessed at different levels based on the complexity of the enclosure and inclusion of additional components. In the plenary, students will list 5 advantages of 3D CAD programs compared to 2D design programs.

Level 4 Simple top and bottom piece of case has been constructed.
Level 5 Simple top and bottom of case has been constructed along
with the two part case with holes made in case.
Level 6 All components have been added successfully to the case,
all dimensions are accurate and an orthographic drawing have been
produced.

Don’t be concerned if it goes wrong – mistakes can happen, it is a
very important part of using CAD.
Try completing the first two pages in the booklet a couple of times
to get use to the tools used.
