Power Projects! These will be given out each week, the children can choose an
appropriate taskto complete.
Spellings – these will be given out every Thursday and tested every Thursday.
Instant Recall – the children willbe given rapidrecall questions to learn every
Friday – they will be tested the following Friday.
Mathleticsand Bug Club– the children have been given a login for anonline
Numeracy resource, which they need to complete assigned tasksrelating to the
topic of work covered within lessons.

Children shouldreturntheirreadingbooks.
Willows will require theirclarinets.
Reading
• In GuidedReadingsessions, weuseacarouselsystemwherechildren havethe opportunitytocompletespelling
games,comprehension,reading,workingwiththeir classteacheranddifferenttasksbasedonthe bookbeing
read.
• Yourchild will readwith theteacheroncea week duringtheir guided readingsession. It isstill reallyimportant
foryoutolisten toyourchild readatleasttwiceaweek if possible.
• Werequestthatparentscompleteandsign theirReadingRecordwiththem. Readingbooksneed tobereturned
toschool onMondayandFridaywhentheywill bechangedforthe children.Childrencan readbooksfrom
homeif theyprefer.The children canalsoaccessBug Club wherebookshavebeen assigned tothechildren’s
accountstoread.

Behaviour
At Wylde Green, weare tryingto improve children’slearningbehaviour by changingthe vocabulary that weuse with them and
our systems for monitoring behaviour.
Children areasked to makethe right‘choice’ with their behaviour and understand that the consequences are as follows:
Warning.
Move down the ladder ONCE.
Move down again. Once they havemoved 3times, theywill beissued a Yellow Card and will miss theirnext break time
completing work.
Red cards are issued for serious offences such as fighting (includingplay fighting), damaging property and serious disrespect.
Wewill informyouat theend of the day for both positive and negativebehaviour.

Year 4 meet the teacher 2016

  • 6. Homework… Power Projects! These will be given out each week, the children can choose an appropriate taskto complete. Spellings – these will be given out every Thursday and tested every Thursday. Instant Recall – the children willbe given rapidrecall questions to learn every Friday – they will be tested the following Friday. Mathleticsand Bug Club– the children have been given a login for anonline Numeracy resource, which they need to complete assigned tasksrelating to the topic of work covered within lessons.
  • 7. Timetable Monday– Childrenshouldreturntheir readingbooks. Tuesday- Childrenareexpectedtohavetheir indoorP.E.kitfortheirdancelesson. Wednesday– Thursday–Children will requiretheir outdoorP.E.kitfortagrugby. Spellings will besent homeoutandbetestedthefollowing week. Pineswill requiretheircornets. Friday-Children mayneed tobring in theirPower Projects. Children will havetheir instantrecall test. Children shouldreturntheirreadingbooks. Willows will require theirclarinets.

Reading • In GuidedReadingsessions, weuseacarouselsystemwherechildren havethe opportunitytocompletespelling games,comprehension,reading,workingwiththeir classteacheranddifferenttasksbasedonthe bookbeing read. • Yourchild will readwith theteacheroncea week duringtheir guided readingsession. It isstill reallyimportant foryoutolisten toyourchild readatleasttwiceaweek if possible. • Werequestthatparentscompleteandsign theirReadingRecordwiththem. Readingbooksneed tobereturned toschool onMondayandFridaywhentheywill bechangedforthe children.Childrencan readbooksfrom homeif theyprefer.The children canalsoaccessBug Club wherebookshavebeen assigned tothechildren’s accountstoread. • Wehaveawell stockedbookcornerandchildren areencouragedto chooseabooktoreadathomeandschool. • OurYear4 authoris Jacqueline Wilson.Atthe end ofeachday,wewill havea storytime wherewewill focuson her books.
  • 9. Behaviour At Wylde Green, weare tryingto improve children’slearningbehaviour by changingthe vocabulary that weuse with them and our systems for monitoring behaviour. Children areasked to makethe right‘choice’ with their behaviour and understand that the consequences are as follows: Warning. Move down the ladder ONCE. Move down again. Once they havemoved 3times, theywill beissued a Yellow Card and will miss theirnext break time completing work. Red cards are issued for serious offences such as fighting (includingplay fighting), damaging property and serious disrespect. Wewill informyouat theend of the day for both positive and negativebehaviour.
