QUADCOPTER
The goal of presentation was to acquaint you to a semi-autonomous quadcopter capable of self-sustained flight via wireless communications while utilizing a microcontroller. The quadcopter was designed to be small enough so that costs would be minimized. which is why small motors and propellers are being used. While a PIC microcontroller, accelerometer, and gyroscope are communicating between each other to maintain control.
The scheduler program arranges the following tasks: controller input, sensor data received from the accelerometer, Gyroscope, and Magnetometer. The wireless transceivers use SPI to send control signals to the microcontroller on the quadcopter from the handheld controller unit. The accelerometer/gyroscope and magnetometer both use I2C to send the amount of acceleration, stabilization, and the direction vector. The motors are being controlled by the PWM ports on the PIC microcontroller. To achieve flight, two of the motors must apply downward force and the other two motors have to apply an upward force. To turn, one pair (left or right side) of motors slows down to turn the copter. To ascend, all motors will increase in speed, and will all decrease in order to descend. To move forward, the front two motors will decrease while the back two motors will increase. And vice versa in order to move in a backwards direction. We are also working on integrating our own Graphical User Interface (GUI) which will allow us to have direct control over all systems.

Aerial VTOL motorcycle - the common sense approachLiviu Giurca
A lot of teams or producers begin the VTOL development with the goal to build directly multi-passenger aircraft (with at least four passengers). For such far objective they must to spend around one billion dollars as already demonstrated some current programs. This is very risky because the dominant technologies of the future are not yet established and the investment can be lost. So is more rational to develop a small VTOL vehicle of the type of aerial “motorcycle”, for one or two passengers and for which the costs are maybe ten times lower. In this case we came with our own solutions.

Adware is a software that may be installed on the client machine for displaying advertisements for the
user of that machine with or without consideration of user. Adware can cause unrecoverable threat to the security
and privacy of computer users as there is an increase in number of malicious adware’s. The paper presents an
adware detection approach based on the application of data mining on disassembled code. This is an approach for
an accurate adware detection algorithm with adware data set and machine learning techniques. In this paper, we
disassemble binary files, generate instruction sequences and past his data through different data mining as well as
machine learning algorithms for feature extraction and feature reduction for detection of malicious adware. Then
system accurately detect both novel and known adware instances even though the binary difference between
adware and legitimate software is usually small.

Security issues have become a major issue in recent years due to the advancement of technology in networking and its use in a destructive way. A number of Defence strategies have been devised to overcome the flooding attack which is prominent in the networking industry due to which depletion of resources Takes place. But these mechanism are not designed in an optimally and effectively and some of the issues have been unresolved. Hence in this paper we suggest a Game theory based strategy to create a series of Defence mechanisms using puzzles. Here the concept of Nash equilibrium is used to handle sophisticated flooding attack to defend distributed attacks from unknown number of sources

Design, Fabrication and Modification of Small VTOL UAVAkshat Srivastava
The target of the project is to design a vertical takeoff Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. The design configuration selected is a four rotor design. Preliminary calculations regarding the material selection was performed. Fabrication was carried out beginning with the frame assembly, followed by the integration of the electronic components. At the same time, the various analyses were performed in order to predict the real time performance of the Quad rotor design. Beginning with structural analysis on Catia, the structural deformation of the frame was studied; the analysis was further refined on the Ansys Workbench. Ansys workbench is an easy to use interactive interface. Following the structural analysis was the Modal Analysis that was performed to evaluate the resonant frequencies or the modes of the vibrations of the frame. Then flow simulation was performed again on the Ansys workbench using the fluent solver and CFX post processing software. This analysis was performed to study the flow behaviour around the quad rotor design. Various plots of the flow parameters were obtained and analyzed. After the assembly of all the individual components was performed, flight testing was performed. The testing was performed for a number of times, various adjustments were implemented, recalibrated several electronic components. The software was reconfigured several times to obtain the desired response from the board. The testing has resulted in minor improvements in the design.
Design,Construction And Structure Analysis Of Twinrotor UAVijics
There have been many advancements in the field of aerospace and avionics. Scientists have increasingly
started to focus on VTOL (vertical take - off and landing) aircrafts. We have built a miniature VTOL
twinrotor UAV. UAVs have begun to grab a lot of attention these days due to its numerous applications
such as surveillance and relief. Twinrotor is a kind of a helicopter having two main propellers instead of
one and no tail fin. All three important motion of the aircraft i.e. roll, pitch, yaw are controlled by thrust
vectoring using servo motors and changing the magnitude of thrust using electronics speed controllers. The
paper deals with the design of a basic UAV based on application and the construction keeping in mind the
different concepts that govern its motion.
DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF AN ACTIVE TWIST ROTOR BLADES WITH D-SPAR MODEL USING C...AM Publications
Today’s helicopters are the result of collaborative work in mechanical engineering and aeronautics. A helicopter main rotor or rotor system is the combination of a rotary wing and a control system that generates the aerodynamic lift force that supports the weight of the helicopter, and the thrust that counteracts aerodynamic drag in forward flight. In the field of rotorcraft, the research in this project is currently focusing on active blade systems to adapt the aerodynamic properties of the blade to the local aerodynamic conditions. Fuel-efficiency, reduction of vibration and noise and increase of the helicopter maximum speed are the benefits expected from these new technologies. A helicopter's rotor is generally made of two or more rotor blades. Rotor blades are made out of various materials, including aluminum, composite structure, and steel or titanium, with abrasion shields along the leading edge. The blade pitch is typically controlled by a swash plate connected to the helicopter flight controls. An Active Twist Rotor (ATR) is developed for future implementation of the individual blade control for vibration and noise reduction in helicopters. The rotor blade is integrally twisted by direct strain actuation using active fiber composites (AFC). In this thesis, the model of rotor blade is designed and analyzed. 3D models are done in CATIA. Analysis is done in Ansys. The materials used for original model are steel and Aluminum alloy, The modified model is analyzed by specifying aluminum alloy using solid element and also the shell element. The optimization results have been obtained for design solutions, connected with the application of active materials.

Unmanned Hex-Rotor Helicopter Based on an H-Airframeijsrd.com
Unmanned multi-rotor helicopters are gaining prominence in the past several years among researchers and industry. A notable example of multi-rotor implementation is the cinema industry. The lower cost of using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for movie making compared to piloted aircraft has promoted multi-rotor helicopters as photographic platforms for professional tasks of filming motion picture and still photographs. Such flying platforms require significantly higher lifting power compared to amateur and hobby UAVs. Further requirements include low vibrations and stability of the helicopter. On account of these characteristics, the most widespread platform for photography is the six-rotor helicopter with "star"-airframe. Simple, yet very productive, it has satisfied to considerable extent the demand by the filming industry and other branches of users. But it still has drawbacks that should be addressed by proposing a newer and innovative airframe design. The current paper presents a new hex-rotor helicopter airframe design based on the H-configuration and compares it with the most widespread "star"-configuration. All benefits in various aspects of efficiency and effectiveness are disclosed.
HEAVY DUTY AIR TRANSPORT VEHICLE (HDATV)vivatechijri
There are various technologies emerging from Aeronautics and Aerospace fields which results into
different problems being solved yet there are some which will be very beneficiary in near future for military as
well as for civil purpose. We as students are working on a problem which will benefit in our near future. In our
project we are designing an electric propelled HDATV (heavy duty air transport vehicle) which utilizes VTOL
technology. The aircraft which we are designing consists of fuselage with two nacelles at the end of high placed
fixed wing and two horizontal stabilizers and a vertical stabilizer along with it. The fuselage and the nacelles are
lifting bodies that are configured to jointly form an aerodynamic lifting body which cooperates with the horizontal
stabilizer to provide aerodynamic lift to the aircraft in forward flight. The nacelles houses two propellers which
are highly pitched and powered by the BLDC Motors operating in counter-rotating directions. The nacelles will
be designed to perform tilting operation in the direction of flight whenever necessary. The aircraft will be
unmanned and controlled via radio controller. The main aim of our project is to demonstrate the use of electric
VTOL technology and to perform basic tasks like avoiding obstacles, to carry loads and to perform some air
manoeuvres.
: The main objective of this paper is the systematic description of the current research and
development of small or miniature unmanned aerial vehicles and micro aerial vehicles, with a focus on
rotary wing vehicles. In recent times, unmanned/Micro aerial vehicles have been operated across the
world; they have also been the subject of considerable research. In particular, UAVs/MAVs with rotary
wings have been expected to perform various tasks such as monitoring at fixed points and surveillance
from the sky since they can perform not only perform static flights by hovering but also achieve vertical
takeoffs and landing. Helicopters have been used for personnel transport, carrying goods, spreading
information, and performing monitoring duties for long periods. A manned helicopter has to be used for
all these duties. On the other hand, unmanned helicopters that can be operated by radio control have
been developed as a hobby. Since unmanned helicopters are often superior to manned helicopters in
terms of cost and safety, in recent years, accomplishing tasks using unmanned helicopters has become
popular. Considerable expertise is required to operate unmanned helicopters by radio control, and
hence, vast labor resources are employed to train operators. Moreover, it is impossible to operate
unmanned helicopters outside visual areas because of lack of radio control, and the working area is
hence limited remarkably. For solving the above problems, it is necessary to realize autonomous
control of unmanned helicopters. However, no general method for designing the small unmanned
helicopters has been developed yet – today, various design techniques by different study groups using
different helicopters exist. In this paper the conceptual design process is explained.
CFD ANALYSISOF UNMANNED COMBAT AERIAL VEHICLE (UCAV) BY VARYING ANGLE OF ATTACKAM Publications
Using CATIA V5 design software a model was designed on the platform of Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV).Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analysis was performed on the ANSYS Workbench 14.0(Fluent) of the UCAV. The Design was particularly done for low speed and high Angle of Attack (AOA) criteria. Important results were interpreted such as lift, drag and lift to drag ratio for various AOA which eventually leads to determining stall angle of the UCAV. Primitively stall angle of the UCAV is found to be 30 degrees and the lift to drag ratio as 7.63, thus making UCAV to have high stall angle at lower speeds. 100-120m/s are taken for lower speed phenomena, density of air being constant at 1.22 kg/m3.

In today’s global economy, the survival of companies depends on their ability to rapidly innovate and
improve. As a result, an increasing search is on for methods and processes that drive improvements in
quality, costs and productivity. In today’s fast changing marketplace, slow, steady improvements in
manufacturing operations will not guarantee profitability or survival. Companies must improve at a faster
rate than their competition if they are to become or remain leaders in their industry.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
