MARS (Magen Air Rotor System) is a lighter-than-air tethered wind turbine that uses helium to float at a higher altitude than traditional wind turbines. It was developed by Magenn Power and consists of a balloon, turbine, generator, and tethers. The wind turns the turbine which spins the generator to produce electricity that is transferred via tethers. MARS provides advantages over traditional wind turbines by being portable, lower maintenance, and able to access stronger winds at higher altitudes. However, limitations include high initial costs, needing to re-fill the helium balloon every six months, and not being able to operate in strong winds or near airports.

Hovercraft presentation-The Future is Now!Riaz Zalil
Hovercrafts provide an amphibious mode of transportation that can move equally on land and water surfaces. They work by using lifted air to create a cushion that allows the craft to hover above the ground or water. Key elements include a lifting fan to pressurize air under the craft, flexible skirts around the edges to contain the air, and propulsion fans at the rear. While early conceptual designs date back to the 18th century, hovercrafts were first realized in the 1950s. They have since found uses in passenger transportation, military operations, and recreational activities due to their ability to traverse varied terrain with minimal environmental impact.
An airborne wind turbine is a design concept for a wind turbine with a rotor supported in the air without a tower, thus benefiting from more mechanical and aerodynamic options.
The document proposes a vehicle called the Cryocar that uses liquid nitrogen (LN2) at cryogenic temperatures as an energy storage medium. The Cryocar would have components like an expander engine to compress the LN2, a heat exchanger to warm the LN2 and extract its energy, and a cryogenic storage tank to hold the LN2. It is estimated that a 400 liter LN2 fuel tank could power the Cryocar for 300km at a very low operating cost compared to electric vehicles. The Cryocar is presented as a potential zero-emissions vehicle that could provide ample power for automobile use in a economical and compact design.

Calculations are presented for pressures, forces, and tilting based on these various assisted tilting mechanisms.
Teleportation involves dematerializing an object and transmitting information about its atomic configuration to another location where an identical replica is reconstructed. In 1993, physicists confirmed quantum teleportation was possible but destroys the original object. Experiments have successfully teleported photons using the phenomenon of quantum entanglement. For human teleportation, a machine would need to precisely analyze and transmit information about a person's trillion trillion atoms and reconstruct their body and memories in another location. While teleporting large objects like humans remains theoretical, physicists believe the technology could be used to build quantum computers within 20 years.

Dandelion Hashtable: beyond billion requests per second on a commodity serverAntonios Katsarakis
This slide deck presents DLHT, a concurrent in-memory hashtable. Despite efforts to optimize hashtables, that go as far as sacrificing core functionality, state-of-the-art designs still incur multiple memory accesses per request and block request processing in three cases. First, most hashtables block while waiting for data to be retrieved from memory. Second, open-addressing designs, which represent the current state-of-the-art, either cannot free index slots on deletes or must block all requests to do so. Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).
