The Al Zn Mg series aluminium alloys (7xxx) are the heat treatable alloys and widely
applied as large structural components in navigation and transportation facilities, due
to good combination of hardness, high strength and fracture toughness [1 6]. The use
of Sc (scandium) to achieve grain refinement has recently received great attention.
The microstructures and properties of aluminium alloys are strongly affected by
adding small quantities of scandium. Scandium additions in excess of 0.55wt.% (i.e.,
hypereutectic) are very effective in grain refinement, suggesting that the primary
ScAl3 phase serves as an effective grain nucleant [7 9].
The effect of a Sc addition will of course depend on the composition of the alloy. The
additions of Sc in aluminium alloy appear to reduce hot tearing and shrinkage
porosity. Hot shortness increase with increase in Zn but decrease with increase in Mg
content [10, 11]. The process of precipitation in the Al Zn Mg alloy system is quite
complex. The aged structure and the kinetics of ageing depend on both the Zn and
Mg concentration and the temperatures of solution and ageing treatments. As the Sc
contents increases within the specified solubility in the solid solution, the grains

I was toured by the docent Ms. Alba Muniz at the Ringling Museum of Art located
in Sarasota, Florida. Asking her and some of the tours many questions, one of the
answers they gave me was that the museum does have a lot of Renaissance, Gothic
and Rococo but the museum is particularly strong in the Baroque period. This
museum was very interesting and exciting to visit. It had featured exhibits such as
Peter Paul Rubens s, The Triumph of the Eucharist Series, Trenton Doyle Hancock
s, What the Bringback Brought, and Builder Levy s, Appalachia USA. These three
exhibits where really compelling and had a strong background to them. For example

daughter of King Phillip II in 1625. Her name was Isabella Clara Eugenia and she
