Moving Beyond the Knowledge Base to the Social Knowledge ExchangeBlue Economy Agency
In today’s world, effective knowledge sharing within an organization helps to attract talent, to build revenue and to inspire innovation, all of which lead to competitive advantage. Historically, the dissemination of information has happened through a system of content platforms and static document sharing, often via email. Those old paradigms no longer apply in the real-time socially connected world of today. Leveraging social platforms to tap the collective mindshare of the organization is not only important, it's mission critical for success.
These slides from our recent webinar with ClimateWorks and Forrester Research demonstrate how innovation is pushing the boundaries of knowledge management and moving us into the era of the Social Knowledge Exchange.
Kate Leggett, Forrester’s leading expert analyst on knowledge management will lead the conversation and provide industry trends and insights on the future of the Social Knowledge Exchange. We'll also hear from Sarah Nichols, Director of Knowledge Management for ClimateWorks, a foundation dedicated to supporting public policies that prevent dangerous climate change, and learn how ClimateWorks uses its social intranet to:
Create a central services portal that connects its global network of non-profits
Connect systems of record to systems of engagement
Develop innovative UX search and content discovery mechanisms
Apply best practices to increase intranet adoption and usage.
We've written before about how you can view your community as a network. Here we use the 'network lense' to show how communities typically evolve and what specific actions you might want to take to get to the next level.
“Creating a Global Movement for Changemaking: Fulbright and Beyond”Kara Andrade

The HCLS Community Profile: Describing Datasets, Versions, and DistributionsAlasdair Gray
Access to consistent, high-quality metadata is critical to finding, understanding, and reusing scientific data. However, while there are many relevant vocabularies for the annotation of a dataset, none sufficiently captures all the necessary metadata. This prevents uniform indexing and querying of dataset repositories. Towards providing a practical guide for producing a high quality description of biomedical datasets, the W3C Semantic Web for Health Care and the Life Sciences Interest Group (HCLSIG) identified Resource Description Framework (RDF) vocabularies that could be used to specify common metadata elements and their value sets. The resulting HCLS community profile covers elements of description, identification, attribution, versioning, provenance, and content summarization. The HCLS community profile reuses existing vocabularies, and is intended to meet key functional requirements including indexing, discovery, exchange, query, and retrieval of datasets, thereby enabling the publication of FAIR data. The resulting metadata profile is generic and could be used by other domains with an interest in providing machine readable descriptions of versioned datasets.
The goal of this presentation is to give an overview of the HCLS Community Profile and explain how it extends and builds upon other approaches.

Validata: A tool for testing profile conformanceAlasdair Gray
Validata (http://hw-swel.github.io/Validata/) is an online web application for validating a dataset description expressed in RDF against a community profile expressed as a Shape Expression (ShEx). Additionally it provides an API for programmatic access to the validator. Validata is capable of being used for multiple community agreed standards, e.g. DCAT, the HCLS community profile, or the Open PHACTS guidelines, and there are currently deployments to support each of these. Validata can be easily repurposed for different deployments by providing it with a new ShEx schema. The Validata code is available from GitHub (https://github.com/HW-SWeL/Validata).

Social Network in marketing (Social Media Marketing) Opportunities and Risksijmpict
The most well-known social software applications are weblogs, wikis, social networking sites and instant messaging. Social networking at a high level is described as the convergence of technologies that make it possible for individuals to easily communicate, share information, and form new communities online. But the big question today is not what social networking is, but rather what it means for businesses.
Social computing is a rapidly growing and constantly evolving technology that is aimed at increasing communication, encouraging collaboration, and enhancing productivity among people and resources. Social computing applications or Web 2.0 are built on a range of advanced and supporting technologies that enhance collective action and interaction which currently dominates the Web (Parameswaran & Whinston 2007).
Social computing applications are categorized into social media, social bookmarking, and social networks categories as identified by the continuing Web 2.0 trend (Schwartz et al. 2009; Amer-Yahia, 2009). Each of these categories has been embodied by various social software and web sites. Some of the best-known and equally famous social web sites that dominate the web are Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Wikipedia, Delicious, and LinkedIn.

The Role of Signaling Identity in the Adoption of Personal Technologies par Isabella Soscia, professeur (SKEMA) Cette présentation sera faite en Anglais
We explore symbolic determinants of technology acceptance to complement more functional frameworks and better predict decisions to adopt information appliances. Previous research has investigated such variables as “need for uniqueness” and “status gains” to capture relevant aspects of technology acceptance. However, the more we move toward personal and ubiquitous technologies, the more we need to broaden and deepen our understanding of the symbolic aspects of adoption. This study reinterprets the symbolic dimension of adoption by broadening its scope to include the self-concept. Results support a prominent role for self-identity in predicting intentions to adopt mobile TVs. Self-identity is shown to complement the effects of “need for uniqueness” and “status gains” in this regard.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Generating a custom Ruby SDK for your web service or Rails API using Smithyg2nightmarescribd
Have you ever wanted a Ruby client API to communicate with your web service? Smithy is a protocol-agnostic language for defining services and SDKs. Smithy Ruby is an implementation of Smithy that generates a Ruby SDK using a Smithy model. In this talk, we will explore Smithy and Smithy Ruby to learn how to generate custom feature-rich SDKs that can communicate with any web service, such as a Rails JSON API.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Closeness centrality:
Capacity to
communicate
[Freeman 1979]
"Il semble que le terme « masse critique » vienne d'une observation du trafic routier en Chine, où sans feux de signalisation aux croisements, les cyclistes attendent d'être assez nombreux, de faire masse pour s'engager et traverser ensemble. "
Le principe de masse critique dans un réseau social correspond à un niveau d'activité à partir duquel le réseau change d'état de manière permanente. Par exemple, à partir d'un certain nombre de personne et d'un volume d'activité minimale d'interaction, un groupe de personne devient une communauté d'intérêt.
Community detection helps understanding the global structure of a network and the distribution of actors and activities.
Moreover, the community structure influences the way information is shared and the way actors behave.
Information spread quickly in a community and is shared by most of it members.
The centrality highlights the most important actors of the network and three definitions have been proposed by Freeman.
The degree centrality considers nodes with the higher degrees (number of adjacent edges).
The closeness centrality is based on the average length of the paths linking a node to others and reveals the capacity of a node to be reached.
The betweenness centrality focuses on the capacity of a node to be an intermediary between any two other nodes. A network is highly dependent on actors with high betweenness centrality due to their position as intermediaries and brokers in information flow.
