1. Written Evaluation
For my first task I had to use illustrator to get myself used to the different tools that it has to
offer, to start off with I draw simple shapes to create a logo for myself, and then I had to
draw around a picture and fill it in and basically make the image again and then finally we
did a more complex piece of work which I had to make an eye using fill and the Bezier curve
tool. I think I did each one of these tasks well, but I could have spent more time on the
portrait exercise.
For the next task I had to Draw 20 shapes for the dynamism exercise. I used colour and as
many different patterns as I could. I could of put more time into doing it though seen as I
rushed it, I am happy with the way it came out.
On task three a person came in a gave us a presentation on the sports academy logo, and
how they wanted a new one so as he was speaking we were asked to write down notes for
the upcoming task which was to create a new logo. I think I managed to get all the main
points down.
Task four was to research all the different sports academy logos to give me some ideas for
the logo I was going to create. I used some of the aspects of my research in my final logo.
In this task I had to experiment using different fonts and symbols to get a rough idea of
what my final logo was going to look like. I made four ideas up but I probably could of made
more to boost my grade.
For task 6 I had to create my final logo for the Salford city collage academy sting, although
we had to use a good range of colour I decided to keep it simple with just the black, blue
and grey look, so that it was a simple look with still a little variety of colour.
Task seven was three different sub tasks that were set on Adobe Premiere Pro and I had to
create an opening title show for the devil rides out, on the second task i had to make a E4
sting and then finally we shot a video of someone speaking then cut out all around the
mouth and then put it on a still image of a gnome. I think I could of done a little bit better on
the gnome because the mouth was moving left and right a bit so it went out of line
sometimes.
For task eight I had to produce a storyboard for Academy sting motion graphic, it had to be
30 seconds long and each one of my story panels were5 seconds long so that it fit perfectly,
I think I could of done better on this task because there wasn’t really much going on, it was
all slow and took time between changing, some may say this is good because you get to see
everything and you won’t miss out, but I think it was a little too slow.
Task nine was the final academy motion graphic sting uploaded to YouTube, then after that I
had to apply a background of some people playing sorts that was uploaded by the sports
2. academy and then I put that in the background of my sting to enhance the effect of the
sports theme.
