1. Straight through cable (39 40): connects the wire at pin 1 on one end of the cable to pin 1 at the
other end of the cable; the wire at pin 2 needs to connect to pin 2 on the other end of the cable; pin 3
on one end connects to pin 3 on the other; and so on. (To create a straight through cable, both ends of
the cable use the same TIA pinout standard on each end of the cable.)

If several routes look similar in length, you might decide to take a longer route if the roads are
highways rather than country roads.
12. Neighbor States (513): OSPF defines a large set of potential actions that two neighbors use to
communicate with each other. To keep track of the process, OSPF routers set each neighbor to one of
many neighbor states. An OSPF neighbor state is the router s perception of how much work has been
completed in the normal processes done by two neighboring routers.
13. Database Exchange (517): When two neighbors complete [database exchange] process, they are
considered to have fully completed the database exchange process. So OSPF uses the Full neighbor
state to mean that the database exchange process has been completed.
14. OSPF Areas and Design Terminology (520 21)
Area Border Router (ABR): An OSPF router with interfaces connected to the backbone area and to at
least one other area
Autonomous System Border Router (ASBR): An OSPF router that connects to routers that do not use
OSPF for the purpose of exchanging external routes into and out of the OSPF domain
Backbone Router: A router in one area, the backbone area
Internal Router: A router in a single, nonbackbone area
Area: A set of routers and links that share the same detailed LSDB information, but not with routers in
other areas, for better efficiency

The Consumer Federation Of America
Americans resoundingly reject non driving characteristics in determining auto insurance rates.
If you re a low income American, chances are you re paying a lot more for auto insurance than other
citizens even if you have a similar driving record and address. Those are the findings of the Consumer
Federation of America (CFA) based on a study released on Monday.
Low Income Status = Higher Insurance Premiums
The CFA evaluated minimum limits liability premiums shared by men and women in 15 cities by five
of the nation s largest auto insurers. Specifically, the CFA found that premiums surged by an average
of 59 percent, or $681 annually when characteristics of the drivers were changed to denote a lower
economic status. Auto insurance is required in all states with New Hampshire the lone exception.
Insurance is regulated at the state level.
Insurance companies should judge you on how you drive, not who you are, said J. Robert Hunter, CFA
s Director of Insurance and former Texas Insurance Commissioner. Insurance companies are
penalizing good drivers by hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars each year based on economic
and social status, and the end result is that the poor pay more, much more.
Five Non Driving Factors Auto insurers use five factors when developing quotes for consumers. They
are: level of education, occupation, homeownership status, ownership of a car during prior six months,
and marital status.
The CFA found that drivers with the same driving

Sir Gawain Archetype
The common archetype of the knight is seen as Christian and chivalric, yet by the end of the text,
Gawain is neither. The narrative begins by portraying Gawain as the epitome of medieval chivalric
values, being respectful towards Arthur and Gweniviere. However, by the end of the text, we quickly
realise his morals are not so clear cut, as he lies and steals from his host. In fact, it is suggested that
Gawain is neither Christian nor chivalric, characteristics tested within the Green chapel.
Christianity held a central position within Medieval society, its importance being highlighted with the
Green Chapel. This location tests Gawain s morals and ultimately brings to light his cowardice and
misogynistic attitude after he is forced to realise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before finding the castle, he prays to Mary that ho him rede to ride And whose him to sum wone
primarily because he wishes for somewhere to go to church and partake in mass. Mary is a repeated
figure within the poem, appearing on the inside of his shield so he can glance at her when he requires
guidance and strength. Yet, in later parts of the tale, this appears ironic, as Mary is associated with
loyalty and virginity. Gawain was hardly loyal to the promise he made with his host, refusing to give
away the girdle breaking the essential chivalric laws. Furthermore, as we learn that Gawain is
experienced in lufttalking it becomes apparent that he may not be as sexually pure as we are lead to
believe. This provides another aspect on Gawain, as the fashionable wealthy man of promiscuous
pursuits. These hidden values of his directly contradict both Christian values of purity and chivalric
values of respect, illustrating him as the unknightly knight. However, his status of a knight could be
solely due to his own birth, as he is King Arthur s nephew. Therefore, we can assume that he did not
suffer through any trials or perform any great deed in order to assert his status as a knight. This could
potentially be the reason as to why his morals are less than perfect, and it could also be possible that
this trial is his

Coyotes Vs Wolf Research Paper
Coyotes vs Wolves Wolves and coyotes are very smart animals. They have extremely good eyesight
and sense of smell. They can hear calls from very far away and they both have dog like appearance,
but although wolves and coyotes are very similar physically, they have very little in common in terms
of social behavior. Starting with the differences between coyotes and wolves their habitat is the chief
difference. Coyotes are often considered intelligent and adaptable. They can be found in any variety of
habitats including forests, deserts, prairies, mountains, agricultural areas, and urban areas. They can
adapt to a wide variety of environments, sometimes they can be found in some human habitats, ...

Wolves are pack animals. Only the alpha pair in each pack breeds. Coyotes are less company lovers,
and all individual coyotes breed if they re able to find a mate. Although coyotes occasionally form
family unit packs, it s not their main lifestyle as it is for wolves. Coyotes pair for a number of years,
and then change mates. Wolves usually mate for life and both parents take care of the young. The
coyotes mate between February and April and the gestation period lasts 60 to 63 days. The pups are
born blind. Their eyes open after about 14 days. The pups live and play until they are six to ten weeks
old and within a year, they go their own way, staking out their own territory. While the wolves mate
typically between January and March and the gestation period lasts 63 days. Pups are born blind and
defenseless also. The pack cares for the pups until they fully mature at about 10 months of age when
they can hunt on their own. Once grown, young wolves may disperse. The last difference between
wolves and coyotes is the way to communicate between them. Coyotes communicate in many ways to
each other and howling is the most common way of communication. A howl is high pitched and eerie,
and is often heard at night. Howling is used to gather other coyotes and to inform others of their
location. Whereas, wolves howl to communicate with the other members of the pack and other packs.
They also howl to attract mates and when they sense any danger, to bring a pack back together and to
keep strangers

Cause Of Mass Shootings
As most people already know in this year alone two of the biggest mass shootings in the United States
history. The two shootings that are explained are the shooting in Las Vegas, which killed 58 and
wounded 515 and the shooting in Texas which killed 26 and injured 20. You can also look at the
Orlando Florida shooting last year which killed 49 and had 58 wounded (Linnane). Shootings in
America have become more and more frequent, and it seems to some people that nowhere is safe. The
examples given were at a concert, a bar and a church. It seems that no matter where you go there is
now a risk of your life. Just imagine being in the shoes of someone who was in the Vegas attack.
Thinking that they will have a fun time when all of a sudden you see someone next to you drop dead
because someone has started to open fire. Everyone is in a panic trying to get to cover. You witness
people praying that they won t get shot as everyone piles up. How did this occur? Why are these
shootings becoming so common? Why do these horrible situations keep on occurring? Well, due to the
amount of guns in America, the lack of Mental Health Care, and the ease of obtaining a weapon, mass
shootings are increasing with more lives being lost.
It seems that one major reason for the mass shootings is the astronomical number of guns in America.
Max Fisher and Josh Keller state in a newspaper for New York Times says that America has 4.4

Social Injustice Speech
Question: How can dancers of color prove their place in the white world of ballet? By definition,
dance is for everyone. But how come we rarely see dancers of color have the lead role or even be seen
on stage? Racial prejudice is still a social issue that impacts society today. For instance Precious
Adams was told to bleach her skin by one of her teachers while studying at the Bolshoi Ballet
Academy. Michaela Deprince overheard one of directors saying we don t put a lot of effort in the
black girls, because they end up getting fat . So how can dancers of color to show others that they are
good enough to be put on stage?
To answer the question, I did research, read articles, as well as watched documentaries. ... Show more

As the inspector is looking around, she spots Adams, she steps in front of her and asks What are you
doing here? . Although skinny, Adams is different from the other ballerinas at the academy Why?,
because unlike most of her classmates Adams is black, and is about to graduate in the spring as one of
the first African American ballerinas to finish school, despite the persistent discrimination at the
academy that is used to lighter skin complexions. Why is she one of the first? Why does it not feel
normal for someone to graduate the academy as an African American? In more than two years at the
academy, Adams has been left out of performances because of the color of her skin, she says, and has
been told to try and rub the black off to make her look like what the directors want for the shows, Why
are we compelled to follow the ground rules? Why can t we choose what can be right, and what is a
good idea for a later time?
Another example is the Michaela Deprince incident where at the age the 10 years old, she thought of
quitting dance after a teacher told her mother that she didn t want to put a lot of

Diabetes is a very sensitive chronic condition that involves high levels of blood glucose in the body
due the lack of insulin or the body s failure to use insulin efficiently (U.S. National Library of

the individual s insulin metabolism and causes glucose to build up in the blood stream (U.S. National
Library of Medicine). It is often caused by lifestyle choices and is rarely caused by genetics (U.S.

is reduced to insulin (U.S. National Library of Medicine). Individuals who have untreated type II
diabetes are prone to other severe diseases such as atherosclerosis and hypertension, therefore it is
very important to stay active and eat healthy (U.S. National Library of Medicine).
Prevalence of the disease: Incidence: this is statistical how many people get/have the disease in

Type II diabetes is often diagnosed later on in life so it is referred to as adult onset diabetes (U.S.
National Library of Medicine). In 2012, the World Health Organization reported that 1.5 million
deaths were directly caused by diabetes (World Health Organization, 2015). The WHO reported that
90% of diagnosed diabetes results in type II diabetes (World Health Organization, 2015). In 2014, they
also reported that in low and middle income families more than 80% of deaths occur because of
diabetes (World Health Organization, 2015). These deaths simply occurred because people were not
eating healthy and receiving enough nutrients as well as not getting enough exercise (World Health
Organization, 2015). Individuals who live in a community that lacks healthy food sources such as
grocery stores are more likely to develop type II diabetes (World Health Organization, 2015). In the
United States alone, over 9% of the total population have diabetes

Nietzsche s Philosophy On The Priestly Figure
Friedrich Nietzsche puts forth the image of the priestly figure in what seems to be a positive and
negative manner. Priests are the greatest haters in the world but they are also the most intelligent
(p.17). Nietzsche s position, according to me, seems ambivalent due to the context in which he refers
to them is altering. There is no clear light in which the priestly figure is shown to be inherently
positive or negative. In this paper, I will bring in his claims, explicate Nietzsche s standpoint on the
priestly figure and how they are ambiguous as they are not thoroughly positive or negative. To begin
with, Nietzsche was a relentless critic of morality and questioned the concept of good and bad.
Similarly, he proposed a question on whether the self is an affirmation of good or negation of evil. He
establishes that good/evil and good/bad come from two distinct origins, where the two good s
radically oppose each other. For Nietzsche, this is what seems like the slave morality, which says that
evil equates to what is good and the master morality that equates bad to good. Slave morality proposes
that if you are evil then I am good while the master morality says if I am good, then you bad. This is
essentially who the priest is. They are those who feel powerless in situations where there is physical
power present. A venomous hatred is then manifested for the powerful as they are supposed to be
spiritually powerful people. This also lies in ressentiment of the weak that

Key Leadership Skills
There are a variety of leadership models which emphasize key leadership skills. Some of the best
models are designed for specific organizations because it is usually difficult to describe key leadership
skills with a broad brush. However, there are some fundamental skills that all great leaders share in
common regardless of the type of group that they are leading. Whether you are leading a commercial
enterprise or a nonprofit organization, or if you are an elected leader in government, these are five key
leadership skills that you must master:
Strategic Thinking: Leaders must be able to think strategically. This is a complex skill set that includes
the ability to define critical issues, analyze the relevant facts and information, and decide ... Show

Once they have formulated a vision, then they must be able to communicate it. The best leaders not
only communicate the facts, but do it in an inspiring way. They are able to persuade their followers
that they will be able to lead them to a better place. If a leader can t communicate effectively, then he
or she will be ineffective as a leader.
Political Savvy: Political savvy is a skill that leaders use to assess the needs of the various stakeholder
groups within their organization. They are also good at recognizing who represents these groups as
key subordinate leaders within their organization. Using their political skills, great leaders are able to
build coalitions by common cause among the key stakeholders. If a leader is unable to build collation,
they will find it very difficult to move ahead with their agenda.
Resilience: Resilience is the skill that leaders need to overcome obstacles. No matter what agenda or
vision the leader may want to pursue, it is always the case that they will run into road blocks on their
journey. Resilience is the skill that leaders use to circumvent the road blocks and continue their
journey. They focus on what they can do to solve the problem rather than blame others or become

Different Types Of Memory Through Comparing Short Term And...
Introduction
The human brain is a very complex organ in its composition and the way it functions. The brain forms
one of the main components of the central nervous system (CNS) in which the other is the spinal cord.
The brain s tissue consists of gray matter where neurons cell bodies are concentrated with their
dendrites and glial cells, and white matter where the myelinated nerve fibers are bundled. The function
of the brain varies from sensory perception, language and maintenance of balance to coordinating and
planning, and involving with emotions and basic behavioral patterns (Klandorf, Sherwood, Yancey,
p.177). Other functions of the brain are learning and the ability to recall experiences and acquired
knowledge; the later of these is called memory. According to the authors memory is defined as the
brain storage for acquired information and the ability to retrieve these information over time
(Klandorf, Sherwood, Yancey, p.195). The purpose of this paper is to drive clarity about the different
types of memory through comparing short term and long term memory, and to explain the underlining
physiological mechanisms of short term and long term memory. Also, how memories are retrieved
will be discussed.
The Different Types of Memory
Memories are stored in the brain in the form of information through three different processes; these
processes are encoding, storage, and retrieval. What people perceive, think, or feel is converted into

The exorcist The exorcist is a supernatural horror drama from 1973. It is based on the novel of the
same name by William Peter Blatty. The novel is inspired by the exorcism of Roland Doe, which took
place in the late 1940s. The exorcism of Roland doe is one of the only exorcisms documented. It was
priests of the Roman Catholic Church that performed the exorcism. Later it was discovered that he
was probably just mentally ill and disturbed but it was still a good foundation for the novel. The novel
changed several details like the sex of the possessed victim and the age. When the exorcist came out in
1973 it caused panic in movie theatres. All around the U.S it created a lot of fuss. Americans lined up

God s blessing on those who use it, and protection from the powers of darkness. Holy water is used by
almost every ancient faith to purify and cleanse things and therefor they used that to get the demon out
of Reagan. A crucifix also appears under Reagans pillow. According to the Catholic catechism, the
crucifix is a sacramental, a sacred sign And it s often used to symbolise religion in movies and books.
In the exorcist they use it to show that the demon is very unholy by letting Reagan do very unholy
things with it to say it in a nice way. The movie got a lot of critic because it is very unholy and
perverse. It s very over the top and a lot of churches were very offended when the movie came out.
Another thing they used was an Ouija board. An Ouija board is something that some believe can
create contact with the other side. And in this movie that s how the demon possesses Reagan. They
also used colour symbolism. For example Reagan was dressed in a white night gown. White

Appliance Station must now raise $75 million to modernize the two plants and expand the Phoenix

What is the risk of issuing bond?
First, debentures means without any security, it s paid back up on company s earning. Appliance
Station needs to get rating for its bond. If the rating is not good such as BB, then it s not easy to sell
the bond and the interest rate will be higher, so the company might not raise enough money. Second,
Appliance station needs to pay interest for the bond. (AAA rating s interest is the lowest around 1%).

Ontological Argument Essay
Most people have not witnessed or experienced God and therefore are confused about its existence. In
Western theology, three theories have emerged to demonstrate the existence of God. These theories are
the ontological argument, the cosmological argument, and the teleological argument. St. Anselm of
eleventh century, and Descartes of seventeenth century, have used the ontological argument for
proving the existence of God. The God, for them, is supreme, quot;needing nothing outside himself,
but needful for the being and well being of all things. quot; (Pg. 305).
St Anselm s account of the ontological argument for the existence of God deals with the existence in
the understanding vs. existence in reality. He defines God as

308). Hence, it is just as much of a contradiction to think of God (that is, a supremely perfect being)
lacking existence (that is, lacking perfection), as it is to think of a mountain without a valley.
His theory is that he can t think of God without it existing and therefore it exists. Also he gives God all
kinds of perfection and because existence is one of the perfection,
quot;God necessarily exists. quot; (Pg. 309).
Kant s critique of Anselm s and Descartes arguments state that existence is not a perfection because all
perfections are qualities, and existence is not any kind of characteristic, quality, attribute, or property.
When we say that something exists, Kant argued, we quot;add nothing to quot; our concept of that
thing we merely say that there is something similar to that concept. It follows that no matter how
many characteristics of a thing we list; we will still not have answered the question whether there is
something having all those characteristics. quot;Being is evidently not a real predicate, or a concept of
something that can be added to the concept of a thing. It is merely the admission of a thing, and of

Essay on Philosophy of Classroom Management
Philosophy of Classroom Management Being a male going into the elementary school education
profession, I feel that I can be a postitive male role model for students who might lack that kind of
male role model leadership needs. One of the first things that I will convey to my students is my
philosophy on classroom management. My philosophy can be summed up in just two words:
RESPECT and LEADERSHIP.
Respect
Just as the picture describes , in order for me to receive respect ; I must first deliver it to my
children. This does not just mean face to face. This also means respect them when they are not around.
In my short time working in the schools , I have witnessed much disrespect toward students behind
their backs. This happens when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students will want to be as part of the classroom environment. The focus on this environment will
encourage student to want to learn. In my classroom I want to go by the encouraging words that Dr.
Yates uses in her book What Do You Say When...? Best Practice Language for Improving Student
Behavior .She refuses to allow any negativity in how she speaks to her students. Dr. Yates encourages
us to do the same with words of... statements. These words turn a negative situation and turns it in to a
positive encouraging environment me by using positive phrases to create positive responses to
negative situations. I agree that addressing negative behavior with negative responses will only make
the situation worse. Remember the old saying , Two wrongs does not make a right .
The Best Practice Language Framework will definitely be beneficial in my classroom and includes:

The Power of Words
1. Words of Accountability
2.Words of Encouragement
3. Words of Grace
4. Words of Guidance
5. Words of High Expectations
6. Words of Hope
7. Words of Love
8. Words of Relationship
9. Words of Respect
10. Words of Understanding
11. Words of Unity
In addition to keeping our words positive I would like to use the strategies of Barbara Coloroso. She
uses 6 critical life messages which are:
I believe in you
I trust in you
I know you can handle this
You are listened to
You are cared for

Outline For Women In Ministry Research Paper
THESIS: Should women be permitted to lead religious worship, such as music; should women be
permitted to be a pastor; should women be allowed to hold a high administrative office; should
women be allowed to serve and care for others? Women are human beings, and all humans were

women which would not benefit women to serve in certain roles.

There are various views of women in ministry. Some of these views are very conservative while others
are very liberal and then there are those that trail the middle of the road. There are three major views,
The most conservative view is the traditional view. The traditionalists believe that male and female
were created differently and should hold different roles. They hold strong to Genesis 3:16, Your desire
will be for your husband, and he will rule over you . Another Scripture that this group uses is
1Timothy 2:12, I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man, she must be quiet
(Calagna, Paragraph 4). The second view that is a little less traditional is the complimentarian view or
male leadership view. This view does believe both male and female were created in the image of God,
but the male is still in authority. The women are permitted to teach other women, children, and
sometimes males if they are under the authority of male leadership (Calagna, Paragraph 5). The third
view is pluralism. Those who believe this view understand that at creation Adam and Eve shared equal
authority and submitted to each other. It was the disobedience in the garden that brought about the
curse in which females had to start submitting to males. When Jesus died on the cross, this curse was
broken. Therefore, ministry does not depend on gender but it depends on one s ability and gifts given
from God. (Calagna, Paragraph 1) The view that a person

Taking a Look at Google
Executive Summary
Google is a company that has no bounds. To reach our goal of becoming a main competitor in the
United States broadband market, we must gain a larger share of the market. Since the initial launch of
Google Fiber in Kansas City, our service has expanded, from much demand, into the surrounding
communities. It is now time we bring Google Fiber to new communities and expand our territory.
Google Fiber offers broadband speeds that are up to 100 times faster than cable and dsl. Our service is
second to none, and will be the key to our future successes. To reach our goal of becoming the premier
broadband provider in the United States we will also require interdepartmental teamwork to increase
our agility through an ever changing environment. Each department will have a defined role in helping
us reach the goal of Google Fiber.
Department Tasks
➢ Marketing: Research potential new cities to release Google Fiber. Submit reports based on each
city s demographics, to aid in the selection process.
➢ Operations: Based on the information of the candidate cities, select the next three that Google Fiber
will penetrate. Once the cities have been chosen begin to assemble a business plan to best fit for each
market.
➢ Public Relations: Once the next three cities Google Fiber will target have been selected put out
national and local press releases to begin creating buzz about our Fiberhood expanding to new
communities.

Pros And Cons Of One Child Policy In China
Write to China: Complicated yet Unique and Interesting As Well
What Indonesian youth think about China?
For me, China is a very complicated yet a unique country. So why did this thought came up?
Its population
First of all it s because of the population. China s population is about 1.4 billion (1,382,710,000)
which makes them the most populous country on this earth. Seems complicated for its government to
suppress the growth of all its citizens. China s government always put on efforts for this issue by
creating One Child Policy and turned it to Two Child Policy to suppress the growth nowadays.
One Child Policy is indeed such an effective way to reduce the country s population although it still
has its pros and cons (some say it led to an abortion). This policy also seems complicated. At first, or
for starters if the mother gave birth to a baby girl, they are (the parents) allowed to have another child
and makes sure that it s a boy. Also this policy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other words, this country is available for all countries in the world that wants to build some
agreement within trust between each other (or diplomatic relations, as they say). But, remembering
Taiwan (or Chinese Taipei or Republic of China as well), this subject will be complicated. Why?
Because China recognize Chinese Taipei as Chinese Taipei, not a single thought to recognize them as
Taiwan. Meanwhile Taiwan is like Hello, my name is Taiwan a.k.a. Republic of China, end of story.
Nice to meet you.
So there are some countries that recognize Chinese Taipei as Taiwan. China s reaction with it is good,
I mean you can do whatever you want to keep one of your part of nations, so, China does not want to
do diplomatic relations with countries that recognize Chinese Taipei as Taiwan, or in addition, as an
independent country. It is called One China Policy (has nothing to do with One Child Policy, of

The Role Of Unrequited Love In The Arthurian Legend
Love is like a lit candle, it needs both the string and heat to work as partners in unison for its fire to
stay alive. The fire symbolizes both the love between two people, as well as their lives. The heat and
the string are ingredients for the ignition and continuation of the urgent scorch of fire as it is brought
at the hilt of the candle for heat to ponder through the air. However, if one side can t provide the string
or heat than their will be no fire, and no other ingredients for the other to work hand in hand with.
Love can foreshadow the beauty between two people, however, more specifically, it can foreshadow
the most tragic events. One could make the argument that the theme for the Arthurian legend is love.
However, in many of these examples one can find, love is mainly one sided. More specifically, only

Unrequited love kills those in the Arthurian legend because the continuous pain amongst them crushes
their hearts, It is like taking on the full force of a fast moving locomotive. Unrequited love leads to the

Lady of Shalott and Lancelot; and lastly it happened between Lancelot and Elaine. In all three cases it
is always the one who loved the other who dies. Additionally, their death proves their love for their
lover, which makes unrequited love the most tragic of all. In Arthur s case his love for her proved that
he wanted her back. The Lady of Shallot knew the consequences when she gazed upon Lancelot s

Stephen King Gothic Elements
Stephen King s The Boogeyman was my favorite piece of gothic literature that we read. I was trying
to figure the story out all the way until the end and had to re read some of it to fully understand. It was
suspenseful, scary, but also had a good story to listen to. The Boogeyman was full of gloomy settings,
monsters, characters in distress, and intense emotions. These 4 things are just a couple elements that
make up gothic literature.
The first element of gothic literature that I noticed in The Boogeyman was the gloomy setting. The
way the man described his house was chilling. He made it sound cold, haunted, and all around gave
the house a bad vibe. He says, I heard a noise in there one night. And then she screamed. I opened the
door real quick the hall light was on and. . . she was sitting up in the crib crying and. . . something
moved. Back in the shadows, by the closet. Something slithered. Here he is talking about his own
daughter s room and how something was in there and he did nothing. I couldn t believe that, his own
child was in distress and he was too full of pride to admit to his wife that he wanted to protect or baby
their child. Her room was described as creepy enough without the monster. The gloomy setting helps
show that this is gothic literature.

Getting Ready To Move
Winter is the time of year where the number of people who are moving house slows down. Not only
are there the holidays ahead to be focused on, but the possibility of encountering bad weather during
the shift seems to deter those who are relocating voluntarily. Money Nation estimates you can save up
to 30% on your moving costs when you relocate during the off peak seasons because companies will
be vying for your business. However, choosing to move during the winter months means you must be
prepared for possible issues that lie ahead. There are three stages of your winter move you should
consider now while you are packing, so you are not dealing with raised stress levels once the
relocation is under way.
Getting Ready To Move
Packing is never much fun, but it s even less exciting when it is freezing outside, and all you want to

can relax until the truck arrives. From boxing to loading, here are a few ... Show more content on

Do not pack anything into the truck that is full of liquid, such as glass jars of food. If your truck gets
delayed due to weather, the liquid within the jars could freeze, and the jars could explode from the
pressure. This makes for an ugly clean up job when it is time to unpack at the other end.
Make sure your home is ready for the movers on moving day. The path between your home and the
truck needs to be snow and ice free. Have it shoveled and salted before the movers arrive so they are
not slipping and sliding while moving your valued belongings.
Once the truck is loaded, you need to be prepared for what could happen during the move

quality wakeboard. Here are some of the things you should consider before making your purchase:
Length The length of a wakeboard is extremely important because it needs to correspond appropriately
to your height, your riding stance and your weight. If a wakeboard isn t long enough for your body,
you may not be able to float it properly. Likewise, different wakeboard lengths conform better to
different riding styles. Shorter wakeboards are usually easier to spin and maneuver in the air during
jumps. On the flip side, landings may be more difficult because of the shorter surface area. A longer
wakeboard is good for beginners because it s easier to ride, but the heavier weight makes it more
difficult to maneuver when you re learning tricks and jumps. On the flip side, the increased surface

The Dimenon Of The Parthenon
The Parthenon The Parthenon in Athens, Greece, is a giant, architectural temple dedicated to the
goddess, Athena. Likewise, the Parthenon in modern Nashville, Tennessee, is an honorary replica of
the ancient monument. Many historians say it is an exact replica. Without a doubt, it is the closest
most people will ever come to experiencing the greatest temple of ancient Greece. A visit to the
Parthenon in Athens would have been an immense pleasure; however, the replica in Nashville is
adequately breathtaking. The enormous columns, the carvings along the top, the giant statue within,
and the larger than life bronze doors make this monument something to remember. The Parthenon and
its sculptures continue to live on through the replica in Nashville, Tennessee. The Parthenon is easily
mentioned as one of the oldest monuments in the world. Originally, the Parthenon was completed in
438 B.C. It is strategically placed atop the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. The Acropolis simply means
high city in ancient Greece (Cole, 39). It is higher in elevation than all the other land below it, and
where Greece s most sacred temples were built. Also, it was built in such a way that when viewed
from afar, you can see the entire building. The purpose of the enormous building was to be a temple
dedicated to the goddess, Athena. According to Karl Cole, the Acropolis in Athens was the
battleground of a fight between Athena and Poseidon, with reward being assuming the role of the
protector of Athens

Church In The Middle Ages
Church in the middle ages
During the middles ages, church was more than just the place you went to worship, it was a place of
power. It had a government, courts, a system of taxation, and laws. Teachings of the church influenced
everyone in the society. The Christian Church molded the way the culture was during the middle ages.
Christianity is the name given to the system of religious belief and practice which was taught by Jesus
Christ in the country of Palestine during the reign of the Roman Emperor Tiberius. Since Christianity
was the dominant religion during the Middle Ages, attempts to purify the church and society led to
many Christian campaigns against other religions. These campaigns were led by bishops, scholars and

Management of Delirium in the ICU
Introduction
Delirium is a serious condition that can affect patients in and outside the hospital. With its presence
being unknown to many nurses and providers, delirium has significant long term complications that
can last well beyond discharge. Noise, medication, and infection are significant in the development
and progression of delirium and these are more than abundant within intensive care patients. The
importance of nurse s knowledge cannot be stressed enough regarding the assessment, symptoms, and
interventions of delirium, in an effort to decrease its occurrence ... Show more content on

With each additional risk factor the likely hood of developing delirium increases. Not only does
delirium increase the cost of patients stay it can also increase the mortality rate. Of all diagnosed
delirious patients 25% will likely have permanent cognitive impairments, and more critically, those
patients who do develop delirium have a three to five fold increase in mortality.
The importance of assessing for delirium cannot be stressed enough. Dr Tsuei preformed a study that
demonstrated frequent assessment, categorized as every four awake hours, increased the detection of
delirium by 55% compared to a once daily delirium assessment. This indicates that once daily
assessment for delirium is not sufficient and no assessment is severely deficient. In assessing for
delirium every four awake hours, we increase the reporting and thus treatment of this fatal illness.
Though there is no specific treatment for delirium at this time certain medication recommendations
have been made as well as improving nursing interventions to decrease delirium. The American
Association of Critical Care Nursing, AACN recommends the use of the ICDSC and the CAM ICU
for assessment of delirium. The ICDSC has been in use since 1990 and the CAM since 2001. The
CAM is broken down into four separate components that must be established in order. First one must
determine if the patient s mental status is different from their baseline. Second, identify if the patient is
suffering from

Champion Of The World By Maya Angelou Analysis
Both Maya Angelou of Champion of the World , and Amy Tan of Fish Cheeks write anecdotal short
stories which express their isolation from the dominant Anglo culture while delving into deeper detail
as to why they feel such a great sense of alienation. Although both stories take place within different
settings and time periods, a primary commonality they share comes from within the detachment they
feel as minorities within a larger, more dominant community. Each author expertly employs literary
devices such as description and narrative style within their writing to express the primary underlying
message of their anecdotal stories; however, placing emphasis on the descriptive aspects of a story and
setting more often seems to give the audience greater clarity and insight into the situation and setting.
In Tan s story, objects of familiarity and a myriad of overwhelming are described in intense detail.
Therefore, Tan s heavy emphasis of description throughout her story resonates more strongly with the
reader. By thoroughly analyzing the text, we can observe how and why the literary element which the
authors place more focus on is an important aspect toward expressing the theme of cultural isolation,
as well as to how Tan s usage of description give the audience more insight as a result.
In the short story Champion of the World by Maya Angelou, the author s sense of alienation from the
dominant culture of her time period is expressed through her distinct telling of the

Taa 18-22 Case Study
The Army has already established the need for maintaining an operational reserve, through former and
current TAAs, capable of breaching AC capability gaps to meet joint force requirements. However, the
analysis lacks resources to accomplish this guidance effectively. The demand for RC forces requires
generating more operational unit readiness to fully complement the rotational force pool to meet the
deployment demand at the same standard as the AC. After conducting a Doctrine, Organization,

associated capability gap that could be mitigated with a non materiel solution with changes or existing

PORTFOLIO ANALYSIS
INTRODUCTION Organizations market a mix of products or services or both. These constitute the
offering that is made through the strategic window. Central to the success or failure of a business is the
health of its product (or service) mix. A starting point is the product life cycle concept. This is a useful
conceptual framework within which to study how firms can vary their marketing strategies though of
course as we shall see in later chapters they do have to take other factors into account. There seems to
be little doubt, however, that at different stages in the product life cycle certain marketing strategies
seem to be more appropriate than others. The life cycle concept also points to the different ... Show

One problem that has been found in trying to make use of the product life cycle concept as a
management tool is that many products do not appear to perform in the market place as it suggests.
They seem to bypass some stages while getting stuck at other stages. Moreover, they may even come
into vogue again after a period of going out of fashion. These observations have brought about
criticisms of the product life cycle as a useful planning tool.
EXHIBIT 2.1 SWANSEA ENGINEERING DIFFICULTIES IN USING THE PRODUCT LIFE

wire for cables to carry high voltage electricity to wire for winding on small electric motors for

to explain generic sales in the market and sales of its own products. Difficulties encountered include
the defining of product markets and the separation from natural growth and decline in the market and
the effects of recession. Indeed in recent years it has proved extremely difficult to assess exactly
where many products and markets are in relationship to their anticipated life cycles. Ironing out the
fluctuations caused by economic recessions and mini booms causes one of the major problems. In

The Use of Electroconvulsive Therapy in Patients with...
The Use of Electroconvulsive Therapy in Patients with Severe Depression or Schizophrenia In
surveys, individuals with both a history of severe depression and a history of physical trauma due to
an accident ranked the pain of mental illness as much worse than that of physical trauma (Isaac 5).
Mental illnesses cause immense suffering and potentially even death; in the year 2000, the suicide rate
of patients suffering from depression was estimated at fifteen percent. This is a testament to the fact
that mental illnesses such as depression and schizophrenia are serious issues, and those suffering from
them deserve the most effective treatment available. Many psychiatrists turn to anti depressants and
talk therapy in attempts to heal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The origin of these skeptical and fearful preconceptions is the imperfect history of the practice. The
most primitive forms of electroconvulsive therapy began in the 1930s, with the injection of various
chemicals into mental health patients, inducing seizures. The first published reports of such treatments
came from Ladislas Meduna, a Hungarian neuropsychiatrist whose experiments sparked the interest of
clinicians worldwide (Fink, Electroconvulsive 1). The first account of actual electroconvulsive therapy
was in 1938 in Italy; neurologist Ugo Cerletti, and his assistant Lucio Bini, applied electrodes on both
temples of the patient, and passed electricity through the brain, causing the patient to have a seizure
(Fink, Electroconvulsive 2). The earliest ECT procedures were administered without anesthesia or
muscle relaxants, and the seizures it induced were brutal, often resulting in fractures and severe
memory loss. However, the success of this experimentation outweighed the trepidation it created, and
the use of ECT progressed, using Cerletti s studies as a foundation and orienting around the use of
electric currents instead of chemicals. Despite its growing popularity and usage, through the 1950s,
the procedure was administered recklessly, still lacking the use of anesthetics or muscle relaxants, and
intensifying negative effects with implementation of a higher, more dangerous level of electrical
current (Electroconvulsive Mayo 4 5). During the

The Current Road Safety Measures
Introduction
There are a myriad of different dangers on any college campus and Ohio State is no different. If any of
these dangers can be minimized or eliminated they should be. Pedestrians on and around the campus
have made complaints about driver speed, and Ohio State wants to know if pedestrians in the campus
area are safe with the current road safety measures. The purpose of this experiment was to test the
speeds of cars on two major roads near Ohio States campus and decide if these speeds are safe.
The next sections outline the different areas of the experiment. Section 2 describes how this
experiment was carried out and what is necessary to replicate it. Section 3 presents the data collected
by the experiment, and section 4 analyzes the data. Lastly, section 5 summarizes the experiment and
makes suggestions for future experiments and studies.
Experimental Methodology
To determine the speed of the cars a 176ft distance was measured out and the time it took cars to pass
through the area was measured. The time was then recorded on a table of time intervals. The time
intervals fell between 1.33 seconds and 12 seconds. Every time a car s time was recorded, a tally was
placed in the appropriate row. Each row had a 2 mph speed interval, and this was how the speed of the
cars was determined. This table is in the appendix for reference and further understanding.
Items needed for this experiment include spray paint, a measuring wheel, a stopwatch, a pen, a
clipboard, and the

Arguments Against Plea Bargain
Plea bargains have been a fundamental part of the United States justice system since the late 1800 s
history.com. From the time the plea bargain was implemented, its constitutionality has been
questioned. Although the arguments against plea bargains are justified, plea bargains are the best
option for the time being. Removing plea bargains would resolve various issues in the United State s
modern justice system, but the complications resulting from such a change would be simply
overwhelming. Throughout the years, the plea bargain has been repeatedly criticized. Not only has the
plea bargain been criticized, but some criticisms go to the extent of deeming it unconstitutional. The
plea bargain is sometimes regarded as unconstitutional for supposedly forcing accused citizens to
admit guilt. This statement is without question not true. The citizen is allowed to deny the plea bargain
unconditionally. This means every citizen of the United States is allowed a trial as it is written in the
constitution and is never forced to admit guilt. Although residents of the United States are never
forced to admit guilt, they can often be pressured into making that decision. There are many reasons
why this situation can occur, but it usually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Citizens can always be bailed out of jail during the process, but if they cannot afford the bail, this is a
major problem. The reasons plea bargains are not accountable for this problem is because this
situation would still occur without plea bargains. Along with the last issue, plea bargains actually help
this dilemma. This is again because plea bargains reduce the number of court cases. Without plea
bargains, the number of people waiting in jail for a trial would increase drastically. On top of this, plea
bargains provide an alternative option if the person in question does not want to wait for their trial for
extended periods of

The Comparison Between Miss Brill And Evelyn And Miss Austen
The comparison between the protagonist Miss Brill and Evelyn:
In the short story Miss Brill by Mansfield the protagonist is holding onto the past. She has delusions of
what her life once was, and tries to look at the presence. However, in the short story Eveline, by Joyce,
Eveline the protagonist is trying to hold onto the future and deny the past. Both characters, however,
in the end, lose hold of their fantasies and have to face reality. Miss Brill learns of her delusion when
she is out at the park listening to the band play music. She imagines herself as being young and
desired. The writer Mayfield uses her fur as a symbolism of her beauty and youth. While Miss Brill is
sitting at the park, she imagines a life where everyone is happy and joyous. She dreams that everyone
is on stage performing. Unfortunately, a young couple comes and sits next to her and degrades her fur
and disrespects her. This astonished behavior makes Miss Brill have to face reality. She realizes that
she is not the young woman Miss Brill so wishes to hold onto, but the old lady that she fears to live.
Miss Brill is so upset about this resolution that Miss Brill leaves the park and walks home skipping her
routine of stopping at the bakery and getting her Sunday treat. She walks back to a place that she calls
a cupboard. This symbolism is a dark and isolated room, expressing that a home Miss Brill is alone
and sad. When Miss Brill gets home, she grabs the box for her fur and puts the coat back

Libanus Father
On the mother s side, the difference in upbringing also played a role in the two men s attachment
toward their mothers. Both men had fathers who faced an early death. Libanius mother was quite
lenient in raising her children: My mother was a nice woman and feared the dishonesty of guardians
and the litigation which would inevitably arise with them, and so she herself set out to be all in all to
us. In general, she succeeded very well by dint of her exertions, but though she paid out fees to
schoolmasters for us, she did not have the heart to get annoyed with her sleepyhead of a son, for she
thought it was a loving mother s part never never to upset her child.
Libanius mother was hands on. In fear and suspicion of other guardians, she was the type of woman
who believed she could do things on her own. She was all in all to Libanius, which could be read
either she took on all the roles as both father and mother or she was everything her children. Being
independent, was a trait Libanius acquired from his mother. This passage from Libanius shows that his
mother was quite over protective. Which again, may have been a push factor for Libanius who sought
a life that allowed him to get away from the protection of his mother. And her lenience, only made it
easier for him to break away. Saying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Looking at Libanius mother s death, illuminates the more affectionate side of Libanius. Libanius
grieves for his mother and recognizes what he has lost. For during their lifetime this really was my
greatest pleasure...she rejoiced exceedingly whenever I returned to her with the sweat of my labours
upon me. Libanius shows how his mother s affection is such that though he did not follow through
what she envisioned him to be that is, to settle down and stay with her, perhaps even start a family she
was supportive of whatever he made of himself. Libanius is not tied down to his mother but he did

Bama Faustina Essay
Bama Faustina is the most distinguished Dalit fiction writer in Tamil, and one of the most acclaimed
of all Dalit women writers. She was born in Madras in 1958. Her autobiographical novel Karukku was
the first Tamil Dalit text on the Christian Dalit community, through which she rose to fame. After the
success of Karukku, Bama wrote Sangati and Kusumbukkaran.
In India, there is a huge campus of religion situated in the society. There are four major caste divisions
in India, Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra. The lowest caste people came under the Shudra s.
They are regarded as Dalits. These people are suppressed, humiliated, exploited, discriminated and
marginalized in every sphere of life. These people are also regarded as untouchables. If the woman
belongs to Dalit community, they suffer two types of discrimination: first, of being a woman and
second, belonging to the lowest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And when I examined the lives of our women, I understood the reason. From the moment they wake
up, they set to work both in their homes and in the fields. At home they are pestered by their husbands
and children, in the fileds there is back breaking work besides the harassment of the landlord. When
they come home in the evening, there is no time even to draw breath. And once they have collected
water and firewood, cooked a kanji and fed their hungry husband and children, even then they cant go
to bed in peace and sleep until dawn. Night after night they must give in to their husbands pleasure.
Even if a woman s body is wracked with pain, the husband is bothered only with his own satisfaction.
Women are overwhelmed and crushed by their own disgust, boredom and exhaustion, because of all
this. The stronger ones somehow manage to survive all this. The ones who don t have the mental
strength are totally oppressed; they succumb to mental ill health and act as if they are possessed by
peys.

  • 3. The Consumer Federation Of America Americans resoundingly reject non driving characteristics in determining auto insurance rates. If you re a low income American, chances are you re paying a lot more for auto insurance than other citizens even if you have a similar driving record and address. Those are the findings of the Consumer Federation of America (CFA) based on a study released on Monday. Low Income Status = Higher Insurance Premiums The CFA evaluated minimum limits liability premiums shared by men and women in 15 cities by five of the nation s largest auto insurers. Specifically, the CFA found that premiums surged by an average of 59 percent, or $681 annually when characteristics of the drivers were changed to denote a lower economic status. Auto insurance is required in all states with New Hampshire the lone exception. Insurance is regulated at the state level. Insurance companies should judge you on how you drive, not who you are, said J. Robert Hunter, CFA s Director of Insurance and former Texas Insurance Commissioner. Insurance companies are penalizing good drivers by hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars each year based on economic and social status, and the end result is that the poor pay more, much more. Five Non Driving Factors Auto insurers use five factors when developing quotes for consumers. They are: level of education, occupation, homeownership status, ownership of a car during prior six months, and marital status. The CFA found that drivers with the same driving ... • 4. Sir Gawain Archetype The common archetype of the knight is seen as Christian and chivalric, yet by the end of the text, Gawain is neither. The narrative begins by portraying Gawain as the epitome of medieval chivalric values, being respectful towards Arthur and Gweniviere. However, by the end of the text, we quickly realise his morals are not so clear cut, as he lies and steals from his host. In fact, it is suggested that Gawain is neither Christian nor chivalric, characteristics tested within the Green chapel. Christianity held a central position within Medieval society, its importance being highlighted with the Green Chapel. This location tests Gawain s morals and ultimately brings to light his cowardice and misogynistic attitude after he is forced to realise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before finding the castle, he prays to Mary that ho him rede to ride And whose him to sum wone primarily because he wishes for somewhere to go to church and partake in mass. Mary is a repeated figure within the poem, appearing on the inside of his shield so he can glance at her when he requires guidance and strength. Yet, in later parts of the tale, this appears ironic, as Mary is associated with loyalty and virginity. Gawain was hardly loyal to the promise he made with his host, refusing to give away the girdle breaking the essential chivalric laws. Furthermore, as we learn that Gawain is experienced in lufttalking it becomes apparent that he may not be as sexually pure as we are lead to believe. This provides another aspect on Gawain, as the fashionable wealthy man of promiscuous pursuits. These hidden values of his directly contradict both Christian values of purity and chivalric values of respect, illustrating him as the unknightly knight. However, his status of a knight could be solely due to his own birth, as he is King Arthur s nephew. Therefore, we can assume that he did not suffer through any trials or perform any great deed in order to assert his status as a knight. This could potentially be the reason as to why his morals are less than perfect, and it could also be possible that this trial is his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They can hear calls from very far away and they both have dog like appearance, but although wolves and coyotes are very similar physically, they have very little in common in terms of social behavior. Starting with the differences between coyotes and wolves their habitat is the chief difference. Coyotes are often considered intelligent and adaptable. They can be found in any variety of habitats including forests, deserts, prairies, mountains, agricultural areas, and urban areas. Only the alpha pair in each pack breeds. Coyotes are less company lovers, and all individual coyotes breed if they re able to find a mate. Although coyotes occasionally form family unit packs, it s not their main lifestyle as it is for wolves. Coyotes pair for a number of years, and then change mates. Wolves usually mate for life and both parents take care of the young. The coyotes mate between February and April and the gestation period lasts 60 to 63 days. The pups are born blind. Their eyes open after about 14 days. The pups live and play until they are six to ten weeks old and within a year, they go their own way, staking out their own territory. While the wolves mate typically between January and March and the gestation period lasts 63 days. Pups are born blind and defenseless also. The pack cares for the pups until they fully mature at about 10 months of age when they can hunt on their own. Once grown, young wolves may disperse. The last difference between wolves and coyotes is the way to communicate between them. Coyotes communicate in many ways to each other and howling is the most common way of communication. A howl is high pitched and eerie, and is often heard at night. Howling is used to gather other coyotes and to inform others of their location. Whereas, wolves howl to communicate with the other members of the pack and other packs. They also howl to attract mates and when they sense any danger, to bring a pack back together and to keep strangers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Cause Of Mass Shootings As most people already know in this year alone two of the biggest mass shootings in the United States history. The two shootings that are explained are the shooting in Las Vegas, which killed 58 and wounded 515 and the shooting in Texas which killed 26 and injured 20. You can also look at the Orlando Florida shooting last year which killed 49 and had 58 wounded (Linnane). Shootings in America have become more and more frequent, and it seems to some people that nowhere is safe. The examples given were at a concert, a bar and a church. It seems that no matter where you go there is now a risk of your life. Just imagine being in the shoes of someone who was in the Vegas attack. Thinking that they will have a fun time when all of a sudden you see someone next to you drop dead because someone has started to open fire. Everyone is in a panic trying to get to cover. You witness people praying that they won t get shot as everyone piles up. How did this occur? Why are these shootings becoming so common? Why do these horrible situations keep on occurring? Well, due to the amount of guns in America, the lack of Mental Health Care, and the ease of obtaining a weapon, mass shootings are increasing with more lives being lost. It seems that one major reason for the mass shootings is the astronomical number of guns in America. Max Fisher and Josh Keller state in a newspaper for New York Times says that America has 4.4 percent of the world s population, but has 42 percent of the world s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But how come we rarely see dancers of color have the lead role or even be seen on stage? Racial prejudice is still a social issue that impacts society today. For instance Precious Adams was told to bleach her skin by one of her teachers while studying at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy. Michaela Deprince overheard one of directors saying we don t put a lot of effort in the black girls, because they end up getting fat . Why is she one of the first? Why does it not feel normal for someone to graduate the academy as an African American? In more than two years at the academy, Adams has been left out of performances because of the color of her skin, she says, and has been told to try and rub the black off to make her look like what the directors want for the shows, Why are we compelled to follow the ground rules? Why can t we choose what can be right, and what is a good idea for a later time? • 12. Nietzsche s Philosophy On The Priestly Figure Friedrich Nietzsche puts forth the image of the priestly figure in what seems to be a positive and negative manner. Priests are the greatest haters in the world but they are also the most intelligent (p.17). Nietzsche s position, according to me, seems ambivalent due to the context in which he refers to them is altering. There is no clear light in which the priestly figure is shown to be inherently positive or negative. In this paper, I will bring in his claims, explicate Nietzsche s standpoint on the priestly figure and how they are ambiguous as they are not thoroughly positive or negative. To begin with, Nietzsche was a relentless critic of morality and questioned the concept of good and bad. Similarly, he proposed a question on whether the self is an affirmation of good or negation of evil. He establishes that good/evil and good/bad come from two distinct origins, where the two good s radically oppose each other. For Nietzsche, this is what seems like the slave morality, which says that evil equates to what is good and the master morality that equates bad to good. Slave morality proposes that if you are evil then I am good while the master morality says if I am good, then you bad. This is essentially who the priest is. They are those who feel powerless in situations where there is physical power present. A venomous hatred is then manifested for the powerful as they are supposed to be spiritually powerful people. • 15. Different Types Of Memory Through Comparing Short Term And... Introduction The human brain is a very complex organ in its composition and the way it functions. The brain forms one of the main components of the central nervous system (CNS) in which the other is the spinal cord. The brain s tissue consists of gray matter where neurons cell bodies are concentrated with their dendrites and glial cells, and white matter where the myelinated nerve fibers are bundled. The function of the brain varies from sensory perception, language and maintenance of balance to coordinating and planning, and involving with emotions and basic behavioral patterns (Klandorf, Sherwood, Yancey, p.177). Other functions of the brain are learning and the ability to recall experiences and acquired knowledge; the later of these is called memory. According to the authors memory is defined as the brain storage for acquired information and the ability to retrieve these information over time (Klandorf, Sherwood, Yancey, p.195). The purpose of this paper is to drive clarity about the different types of memory through comparing short term and long term memory, and to explain the underlining physiological mechanisms of short term and long term memory. Also, how memories are retrieved will be discussed. In Western theology, three theories have emerged to demonstrate the existence of God. These theories are the ontological argument, the cosmological argument, and the teleological argument. St. Anselm of eleventh century, and Descartes of seventeenth century, have used the ontological argument for proving the existence of God. The God, for them, is supreme, quot;needing nothing outside himself, but needful for the being and well being of all things. quot; (Pg. 305). Hence, it is just as much of a contradiction to think of God (that is, a supremely perfect being) lacking existence (that is, lacking perfection), as it is to think of a mountain without a valley. His theory is that he can t think of God without it existing and therefore it exists. Also he gives God all kinds of perfection and because existence is one of the perfection, quot;God necessarily exists. quot; (Pg. 309). Kant s critique of Anselm s and Descartes arguments state that existence is not a perfection because all perfections are qualities, and existence is not any kind of characteristic, quality, attribute, or property. When we say that something exists, Kant argued, we quot;add nothing to quot; our concept of that thing we merely say that there is something similar to that concept. It follows that no matter how many characteristics of a thing we list; we will still not have answered the question whether there is something having all those characteristics. quot;Being is evidently not a real predicate, or a concept of something that can be added to the concept of a thing. It is merely the admission of a thing, and of certain determinations in it. quot; (Pg. 311). His argument is that it is all right to say that God has certain characteristics but it is another to say that such a God exists. Many contemporary philosophers agree with Kant s argument, but many others do not. Furthermore, contemporary logicians have developed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of these views are very conservative while others are very liberal and then there are those that trail the middle of the road. There are three major views, The most conservative view is the traditional view. The traditionalists believe that male and female were created differently and should hold different roles. They hold strong to Genesis 3:16, Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you . Another Scripture that this group uses is 1Timothy 2:12, I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man, she must be quiet (Calagna, Paragraph 4). The second view that is a little less traditional is the complimentarian view or male leadership view. This view does believe both male and female were created in the image of God, but the male is still in authority. The women are permitted to teach other women, children, and sometimes males if they are under the authority of male leadership (Calagna, Paragraph 5). The third view is pluralism. Those who believe this view understand that at creation Adam and Eve shared equal authority and submitted to each other. It was the disobedience in the garden that brought about the curse in which females had to start submitting to males. When Jesus died on the cross, this curse was broken. Therefore, ministry does not depend on gender but it depends on one s ability and gifts given from God. (Calagna, Paragraph 1) The view that a person ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Boogeyman was full of gloomy settings, monsters, characters in distress, and intense emotions. These 4 things are just a couple elements that make up gothic literature. Many psychiatrists turn to anti depressants and talk therapy in attempts to heal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The origin of these skeptical and fearful preconceptions is the imperfect history of the practice. The most primitive forms of electroconvulsive therapy began in the 1930s, with the injection of various chemicals into mental health patients, inducing seizures. The first published reports of such treatments came from Ladislas Meduna, a Hungarian neuropsychiatrist whose experiments sparked the interest of clinicians worldwide (Fink, Electroconvulsive 1). The first account of actual electroconvulsive therapy was in 1938 in Italy; neurologist Ugo Cerletti, and his assistant Lucio Bini, applied electrodes on both temples of the patient, and passed electricity through the brain, causing the patient to have a seizure (Fink, Electroconvulsive 2). The earliest ECT procedures were administered without anesthesia or muscle relaxants, and the seizures it induced were brutal, often resulting in fractures and severe memory loss. However, the success of this experimentation outweighed the trepidation it created, and the use of ECT progressed, using Cerletti s studies as a foundation and orienting around the use of electric currents instead of chemicals. Despite its growing popularity and usage, through the 1950s, the procedure was administered recklessly, still lacking the use of anesthetics or muscle relaxants, and intensifying negative effects with implementation of a higher, more dangerous level of electrical current (Electroconvulsive Mayo 4 5). • 42. The Current Road Safety Measures Introduction There are a myriad of different dangers on any college campus and Ohio State is no different. If any of these dangers can be minimized or eliminated they should be. Pedestrians on and around the campus have made complaints about driver speed, and Ohio State wants to know if pedestrians in the campus area are safe with the current road safety measures. The purpose of this experiment was to test the speeds of cars on two major roads near Ohio States campus and decide if these speeds are safe. The next sections outline the different areas of the experiment. Section 2 describes how this experiment was carried out and what is necessary to replicate it. Section 3 presents the data collected by the experiment, and section 4 analyzes the data. Lastly, section 5 summarizes the experiment and makes suggestions for future experiments and studies. Experimental Methodology To determine the speed of the cars a 176ft distance was measured out and the time it took cars to pass through the area was measured. The time was then recorded on a table of time intervals. The time intervals fell between 1.33 seconds and 12 seconds. Every time a car s time was recorded, a tally was placed in the appropriate row. Each row had a 2 mph speed interval, and this was how the speed of the cars was determined. This table is in the appendix for reference and further understanding. Items needed for this experiment include spray paint, a measuring wheel, a stopwatch, a pen, a clipboard, and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Arguments Against Plea Bargain Plea bargains have been a fundamental part of the United States justice system since the late 1800 s history.com. From the time the plea bargain was implemented, its constitutionality has been questioned. Although the arguments against plea bargains are justified, plea bargains are the best option for the time being. Removing plea bargains would resolve various issues in the United State s modern justice system, but the complications resulting from such a change would be simply overwhelming. Throughout the years, the plea bargain has been repeatedly criticized. Not only has the plea bargain been criticized, but some criticisms go to the extent of deeming it unconstitutional. The plea bargain is sometimes regarded as unconstitutional for supposedly forcing accused citizens to admit guilt. This statement is without question not true. The citizen is allowed to deny the plea bargain unconditionally. This means every citizen of the United States is allowed a trial as it is written in the constitution and is never forced to admit guilt. Although residents of the United States are never forced to admit guilt, they can often be pressured into making that decision. There are many reasons why this situation can occur, but it usually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Citizens can always be bailed out of jail during the process, but if they cannot afford the bail, this is a major problem. The reasons plea bargains are not accountable for this problem is because this situation would still occur without plea bargains. Along with the last issue, plea bargains actually help this dilemma. This is again because plea bargains reduce the number of court cases. Without plea bargains, the number of people waiting in jail for a trial would increase drastically. On top of this, plea bargains provide an alternative option if the person in question does not want to wait for their trial for extended periods of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, in the short story Eveline, by Joyce, Eveline the protagonist is trying to hold onto the future and deny the past. • 45. Libanus Father On the mother s side, the difference in upbringing also played a role in the two men s attachment toward their mothers. Both men had fathers who faced an early death. Libanius mother was quite lenient in raising her children: My mother was a nice woman and feared the dishonesty of guardians and the litigation which would inevitably arise with them, and so she herself set out to be all in all to us. In general, she succeeded very well by dint of her exertions, but though she paid out fees to schoolmasters for us, she did not have the heart to get annoyed with her sleepyhead of a son, for she thought it was a loving mother s part never never to upset her child. Libanius mother was hands on. In fear and suspicion of other guardians, she was the type of woman who believed she could do things on her own. She was all in all to Libanius, which could be read either she took on all the roles as both father and mother or she was everything her children. Being independent, was a trait Libanius acquired from his mother. This passage from Libanius shows that his mother was quite over protective.
