Write or Die is a
free web-based
application …

… that forces you
to write nonstop.

It helps you to
just put your
thoughts on the
screen.

It’s very helpful
for writing first
drafts …

… because it helps
you focus and not
be critical when
you write.

(You can be critical
when you edit, but
not when you
write.)

Scroll down until
you see this:

If you are
happy with the
default
settings …

If you want to
use the app
longer than 15
minutes …

… you can adjust
the “time goal”
by going to the
drop down menu.

You can also
lengthen or
shorten the
grace period.

Grace period =
the length of
time you can
pause ...

… without
“suffering” a
consequence.

You can also set
a word count
goal.

You can also
choose the
consequence you
“suffer” if you
stop.

Gentle mode =
You’ll get a
message that
says:

“You stopped
writing. Keep
writing!”

Normal mode =
You’ll hear an
annoying sound.

Make sure that
you have your
headphones on.

Kamikaze mode =
Your writing will
un-write itself.

The words
you’ve written
will disappear
one by one.

Electric shock
mode = They’re
just kidding. 

If you suddenly
feel the urge to
go to the
restroom ...

… simply hit the
PAUSE button.

Remember: The
pause button
works only once.

When you’re
done, be sure to
copy and paste
what you wrote ...

notepad.
