Water Conservation
WATER CONSERVATION
INTRODUCTION:
Water is essential for life on earth. Water is needed for growing food, keeping ourselves clean,
generating power, controlling fire and most importantly to stay alive! This list is simply non ending.
This shows that water is an integral part of our daily life and we are heavily dependent on it.
Water conservation
Refers to reducing the usage of water and recycling of waste water for different purposes such as
cleaning, manufacturing, and agricultural irrigation.
Water conservation can be defined as:
1. A reduction in water use accomplished by implementation of water conservation or water efficiency
measures; or, 2. Improved water management practices that reduce or enhance the ... Show more

Using less water also puts less pressure on our sewage treatment facilities, and uses less energy for
water supply to the grid.
Why should you conserve water?
There are many good reasons to conserve water. Water conservation can help meet future needs.
Saving water will save you money. Water conservation helps preserve the environment. Saving water
will save energy.
Although water conservation helps, some people have misconceptions about what water conservation
can and can t do. If we all work together to conserve water, we can help assure a bright and prosperous
life for future generations. Become an advocate of conservation in your community. Help promote
conservation as a wise and important water management principle.
[pic]SAVE MONEY
Conserving water saves you money! Not only will your water bill go down, but as you use less water,
your gas or energy bill will also decline. If your whole community conserves, you will also pay less
fees for water related services. Water conserving communities will not need to pay as much to develop
new supplies and expand or upgrade water and wastewater infrastructure.
Wise usage of water helps us in saving money. We have to pay for the water we use. If we use less
water, we will have more money left to spend on other things.

La Haine Review Essay
La Haine Review
La Haine , a 93 minute film regarding about three adolescents(Vincent Cassel, Hubert Kounde, and
Said Taghmaoui) who struggle to cope in a poverty stricken environment in which hatred and violence
are part of everyday life. Even the title La Haine which is a French word, translated to The Hatred
suggests what the film is about. Based on a true event, La Haine is inspired by a real event where a
young man was murdered while being questioned at a Parisian Police station. In exploring racism in
the Paris suburbs, this film has a direct contrast with more typical French films, such as Amelie(2001)
which presents a far more romantic and idyllic vision of French life. The beginning of La Haine shows
the beating of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This environment reinforces the adolescent s need to construct a masculine identity as Les Banlieues
is a dangerous, threatening society to live in so this reinforces the need for a masculine identity
because the adolescents feel that they have succeed in certain situations that requires physical strength
and fitness and also tend to express themselves verbally and physically. This is shown after the
beginning when Vinz has a banter with Said.
Kassovitz develops the identities of Vinz, Said and Hubert in certain scenes. In the scene where Vinz
finds a policeman s gun, his normal persona changes as Vinz vows to kill every policeman if the trio s
friend,Abdel, dies. This depicts his masculinity as Vinz is subtly pressured to act masculine due to
Abdel being in hospital and if Vinz appears to look or become weak then it will appear to Said and
Hubert that Vinz is more feminine if Vinz expresses his emotions. This will also, as a whole, ruin Vinz
s self esteem. Another scene where there is another development of Vinz s identity is the scene where
the trio confronts an off duty cop. Vinz seemingly plays with the cop with the gun in his hand,
suggesting that they should kill the cop. This shows another development in Vinz s masculine identity
as Vinz is was challenged by Hubert that he won t kill a cop and this threatens his identity and

How Does Dr. Leo Violate Ethics
In the movie, What about Bob? , Dr. Leo Marvin accepts a new patient the day before he goes on a
month long vacation with his family. Bob Wiley is transferred to Dr. Leo by a therapist who is tired of
dealing with him. It was unethical for Dr. Marvin to accept Bob as a new patient, especially with all of
his pressing needs, right before he was leaving. This was an insensitive act due to Bob s needs because
Dr. Leo established a relationship with Bob and then left Bob stranded. Rather than accepting Bob as a
client, Dr. Leo should have simply referred him to a different therapist.
Bob violates ethics by pretending to commit suicide and then further pursuing Doctor Marvin and his
family outside of the practice in a friendship relationship. Bob

Similarities Between The Yellow Wallpaper And A Rose For...
In the story, A Yellow Wallpaper the narrator tells her story of her life living with her husband and she
comes off as a distressed, morose wife. In A Rose for Emily Emily is struggling with keeping a
tradition in her family and is also and also distressed. Both women deal with the struggles of their
husbands who do not give them attention or treat them well. They both show similarities in their
qualities of life. In William Faulkner s, A Rose for Emily and Charlotte Perkins Gilman s The Yellow
Wallpaper, both have female characters who have to endure and overcome struggles of loneliness,
isolation, insanity, and depression as the female protagonist.
In A Rose for Emily she grows up with her father who was very controlling over Emily s life. He
controlled all aspects of her life such as any men who were interested in Emily were sent away by her
father. This kept Emily isolated from everyone in the town and she never left her house. According to
Watkins The Structure of A Rose For Emily, The inviolability of Miss Emily s isolation is maintained
in the central division, part three, which no outsider enters her home. In The Yellow Wallpaper it is
shown that the female narrator is desolate and is put in an attic room away from everyone. It is also
revealed that she is not treated fairly or well taken care of when her husband who is a physician does
not help her get better. From Gender in The Yellow Wallpaper Carmen Esposito says However, her

Introduction As the United States strive to become a global leader in education, developing school
teachers and leaders must be the first step to achieve this goal. All the work that educational leaders
has put in on every level of our educational system has not rendered the results desired. Research
suggest that everyday interaction between a teacher and student has a prime determinant on student
achievement. Great teachers can make all the difference in the world. Teachers can inspire a student to

Making sure that every teacher has the ability, skill, motivation , and desire to do the job is considered
essential. When implementing a plan or transforming a culture an educational leader must have full
executive support, an effective communication plan, full employee involvement, thorough
organizational planning and completive analysis, and a widespread perceived need for the strategic
planning. Effective leadership also comes with great collaboration in an organization internal and
external. Leadership must constantly involve staff in collaboration. Early in a new program s life a
centralized focus must provide the leader a number of benefits: management of external stakeholders,
management of informational needs, funding of the program, and management support. Providing
teachers and administrative teams to collaborate on on going and future issues will help empower and
motivate to take ownership in the organization. In an educational environment school leaders must
collaborate with staff through PLC s which are team meetings, faculty and staff meetings, school
improvement committees, teacher appraisals periods (PDAS), and even casual conversation. Lewis
and Pattersson (2009) suggest that good governance promotes excellent service in education which
include an organization with appropriate standards, good incentives, information, and accountability
which foster high performance from public

The Case Of Vitro Human Blood
Thrombosis and Leptin The manifestation of P selection in the case of vitro human platelets is
increased by the Leptin. Fascinatingly, the augmentation of the results of APD induced combination
from the Leptin mitigated in the platelets found from the overweight or the obese patients in
comparison to the normal weight patients. However, other studies showed no effect of Leptin at
concentration levels of up to 500 ng/mL from obese and other normal weight subjects. Results from
44 women diagnosed with obesity, the plasma containing Leptin has a correlation with the excretion
of urinary 11 dehydrothromboxane B2. Restrictions of caloric values reduces the levels of Leptin and
the platelet activity is reduced in the process. This is evident from the reflection of decrease in the
levels of P selectin concentration in the plasma. There is also a positive correlation of plasma Leptin
and the concentrations of the plasminogen activator inhibitor 1 expressed in the men with the ischemic
heart diseases. From professional follow up, it was observed that Leptin correlated significantly with
the von Willebrand and fibrinogen factor (Reaven, 2011). Studies done in Swedish populations
showed that there is a positive association of Leptin with the plasma fibrinogen and it also expresses
an inverse relationship with the plasminogen activator found in tissues and its concentration in plasma
(Townsend, 2012). An inverse correlation between the 2 inhibitors of coagulation and Leptin, the

Critiquing Communication and Interviewing Skills
Critiquing communication and interviewing skills of a health assessment interview with a client
Introduction Communication is one of the basic survival skills of human and also a fundamental part
of nursing. Effective communication would help to promote a positive nurse client relationship which
is crucial for the delivery of quality nursing care (Sheppard, 1993; McCabe 2003). Health assessment
is also vital in collecting information in the nursing process. In order to collect data in a systematic
and standardized approach, and enable the nurse to determine different aspects of health and human
function, the Gordon Functional Health Patterns which have 11 categories are usually used as a
framework of the assessment. The pattern named ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The third weakness observed is the frequent use of cliché such as don t worry too much and that s
normal which would give the client an impression that the nurse does not address and understand her
situation well. This is because clichés sounds flippant ,do not always suit the current situation and
could prevent the building of trust between the nurse and client (Dewit, 2001). One more weakness
encountered is that the nurse might have frightened the client by saying that s serious! and the final
outcome of the breast cancer when the client said she had discovered a hard substance on her left
breast. The nurse may not be able to handle this situation as the client burst in to tears the moment that
she heard the frightening statements. This would distract and confuse the client and therefore the pace
of the interview would be disrupted (Hodgson, Martin, 2006). Rooms for improvement If time is
allowed, the nurse could teach the client how to perform a thorough self examination in order to assist
her detecting the body changes as the client seemed not to have enough knowledge on BSE. Secondly,
open ended question should be adopted as the major type of interview questions because it allows
maximum freedom for the client to respond in his or her own way (Balzer, Julia, 2004). Finally, nurse
should rehearse the whole set of question before conducting a real interview so that she could be more
relaxed when dealing with client s responses. Insights and

2014). They argue that China s economy is a whole different picture than the US. First of all, they
point out that the US housing crash damaged most of the Americans life, but such case is very
impossible to happen in China because China saves far more than any other countries in the world.
Secondly, the Chinese government s debt is much lower compared to the United State; hence the
government is more capable when it comes to helping its banks in case of the assumed 20% of loans
gone bad. Third, China s policymakers will take necessary strategies to ensure the overall impact on
the economy is not as strong as we have experienced in the crash down of the US economy, once the
correction of the price is foreseen. Some of the economists even debate that China s government will
not allow the pop. As shown by the statistics, about 90% of the population own at least one home,
where 65% of people s investments are in the property market. If the bubble were set to pop, the
Chinese government will not be able to afford the consequences of the social unrest (The Bloomberg,
2014). So Xi will use all the necessary means to avoid the housing market from crashing down. One
of the attempts is to implement a charge of 20% property tax on the sale of the second home; and the
other is to require a 70% of down payment in the case of buying a second home. Not quite of a
surprise though, before the new policies come to effect, the real

The Anger In A Room Of One s Own By Virginia Woolf
The Anger of a Feminist Anger is a complex concept that is difficult for many to explain and manage,
just as it is for Virginia Woolf in the text A Room of One s Own. Anger is defined as That which pains
or afflicts, or the passive feeling which it produces; trouble, affliction, vexation, sorrow, yet this is far
from concrete and does not contain the multiple aspects that anger brings to mind. It does not provoke
the emotion in the reader itself as Virginal Woolf does in A Room of One s Own. She demonstrates her
rage quite frequently in a multitude of ways in an effort to let her audience understand her thoughts
and reasons. In this particular text, Virginia Woolf investigates her anger at the idea that many people

Virginia Woolf expresses her rage through her unflattering use of physical descriptions of the
professor, bringing her emotions into the physical world, creating a villain out of the professor, forcing
her audience to take her side. When Woolf s imagined speaker is reading in the library, she begins to
sketch the imaginary professor who had writing the book she was reading, titled The Mental, Moral,
and Physical Inferiority of the Female Sex. The speaker first describes this professor, Professor von X,
as not in my picture a man attractive to women, (Woolf 31). Because this is the first way in which she
describes him, it places a great weight on physical attributes. She says women would not find him
attractive, using his physical appearance to symbolize her opinion of his ideals. Any women in the
audience will be less likely to agree with his thoughts on inferiority since they are first judging him on
his described appearance, which is not particularly endearing. This description also implies that men
who think women inferior are less attractive to women, discouraging the behavior in any male
audience members. By degrading the sexist professor, she

Turning Point in History for Vietnam Essay
The turning point in history for Vietnam all began in the year 1954 during the Geneva Conference,
which took place in Geneva, Switzerland. The Geneva Accords both put an end to the Indochina War
and began the divide of the Vietnam territory. The Geneva Accord was an obligatory agreement stating
Vietnam was to be separated into two distinct territories divided by a line of segregation at the 17th
parallel. Vietnam was now separated into North and South Vietnam, the communist north and the anti
communist south. Ho Chi Minh controlled North Vietnam, better known as the Democrat Republic of

He uses this captivating charm to achieve an emotional influence on his listeners, communally and

Before the constraint of war restricted him to official duties, Ho regularly visited villages and towns.
Simply clothed, he was especially fond of dropping into schools and chatting with the children
(Whitman, 1969). He demonstrated the ideal of a clear cut, humble, and zealous mature man who
incorporates his wisdom in commanding the attention of his followers. He was relevant among them.
His main objective was to gain independence for Vietnam no matter the sacrifice. As a communist,
Minh founded the French Communist Party in 1930 (Moss, 2010). Ho Chi Minh was a passionate

Persuasive Speech About Weight
Have you exhausted yourself trying to lose that extra weight? Have you gone on every diet and bought
every gimmick that other women have had success with to no avail? Losing weight is just more
difficult for some of us than others, which can be discouraging But if you figure out WHY this is
occurring, well, then you can change it.
First of all, think about your habits and the foods you consume. Are you a smoker, dependent upon
caffeine, or binge drink a few nights a week? Are the majority of your meals prepackaged foods, I m
even talking about those alleged diet meals , that you can just heat up and go? Do you usually base
your meals around foods that have been previously prepared (I m talking soups, pizzas, cereal, chips,
etc.)? Even if you choose the low fat versions of these processed foods, it s not positively a healthful
choice.
The issue with these habits, is that they are not NATURAL. You can t allow all of these alien, and
even detrimental substances in your body, and assume it will perform optimally. The nicotine,
caffeine, alcohol, food preservatives, and additives are in no way shape or form good for us. In point
of fact, they are very damaging. Stop and consider the numerous people now a days that live with or
even die of disease? Medicine and science are advancing, yet people are getting more diseased and
debilitated. It does not make much sense until we scrutinize the foods we eat. Ninety percent of the
average Americans diet is composed of processed

Billy Wilder s Sunset Boulevard (1950) is a uniquely crafted film that provides analytical insight, as
well critical underlying themes that focus on the very industry it was born from. The film itself is a
commentary of an evolving 1950 s Hollywood, that used a sense of realism and irony not seen by
other films of its time (TCM). These themes are displayed practically flawlessly through clever and
entertaining use of of narration elements, motifs, and whimsical humor. From the very first scene, the
viewer s attention is grasped by a brilliant and engaging scene of foreshadowing. Never does the film

Throughout his work in the film industry, he gained high success in collaborations with two other
talented screenwriters and producers. Their names were Charles Brackett and I.A.L. Diamond. Wilder

inspiration for the film in an interview with Vanity Fair, he cited that, I wanted to make things a little
harder for myself, I wanted to do that thing which never quite works a picture about Hollywood
(Vanity Fair). At first Wilder and Bracket wanted to make the film a comedy and envisioned the film
as a celebrated comeback of a has been silent film queen (Wilder, B). Though the two eventually
choose a semi darker path for the film revolving around the plot we know today and its suggestive
commentary on the industry. In fear of censorship from the Paramount studios, Wilder and Brackett
made a phony working title for the film to throw off any overseers, accordingly titled, A Can of Beans.
In the film Wilder strived to give an accurate and realistic portrayal of what he believed to be 1950 s
Hollywood. Though this venture was an entirely different experience for Wilder, for he was not just
writing another scrip. He was writing about an industry of which he worked and lived in. The main

Descriptive Adjectives And Dialogue In The Pigman By Paul...
Description begins in the writer s imagination but should end in the reader s. Writing good dialogue is
art as well as craft. Descriptive adjectives really help the readers see what it s like to be in the story
and imagine what the characters look like and feel like at that moment. Dialogue helps the reader see
the story from their point of view and shows us what they think of something else. In the story The
Pigman by Paul Zindel, the author uses descriptive adjectives and dialogue to develop the story.
Without descriptive adjectives, the reader won t be able to see or imagine how the characters look like,
how the setting is described and you won t be able to know the characters emotion. Six feet tall,
longish brown hair and blue eyes. As you can see, this helps the readers visualize how that character
looks like so without descriptive adjectives, you wouldn t be able to imagine how the character looks.
He was in his late fifties and was pretty big, and he had a bit of a beer stomach. From this quote you
can see this shows he s old and don t take care of himself as much, so you can see how the character is
like and act with descriptive adjective. At the top of the stairs was this plain old bathroom with a
shower curtain that had all kinds of fish designs on it... The ceiling slanted on the far side, and there
was only one window. After looking at this quote, you can tell that without descriptive adjectives you
won t be able to visualize the setting which can connect to how the characters feel in a way. To break
this all down, without descriptive adjectives it would leave us clueless and confused because we won t
know anything about the characters(looks, emotions) and setting which would make the story
perplexing and complicated. Dialogue is important because it helps us see things from the characters
point of view, and we know what they think of something or someone else based on what they say and
think. If Freud smokes, why can t I? Freud doesn t smoke anymore I told him. He s dead. This shows
that John is a witty young man with a strong attitude. So without dialogue you can t really say much
about the characters, and how they re like like it shows in the quote. I m thinking of becoming an

an instance is given in her childhood, What did it mean to smooth across the casket of your belly?
What echoed there, if not me . (Smith, 6,7) This shows that Tracy had thought about her identity in the
past, and wondered what it was. It gives the readers a sense of not knowing themselves, this would
push anyone into a search or rethinking an identity, the same goes for Tracy. Rachel Joyce strategically
uses imagery, He wanted to describe what it feels like to find your boy in a pool of vomit and carry
him to bed and mop him up and pretend in the morning you have not seen that. He wanted to say what
it was like to be a child and find the man who was your father in the same manner. He wanted to say,
What happened? Was it me? Am I the link here? But he didn t. (Joyce, 256) Through Harold s
accounts, it becomes undeniable that his son had put him in a frictional position, mentally challenging
Harold, and putting the blame on him. His son s actions lead Harold to doubt the way he had brought
his son up. Imagery paints a picture to the characters harsh realty in both the novel and poem, which
leads us doubtless into why they

Stop My Death Sentence Over My Daughter
Unfortunate, for my family, God word did do just what He says it would do and set me set from a 17
teen year drug addiction although at the time when I was freed, I was a mass in my mind, body and
soul. The fact that I did not understand what was happening to me when Jesus spoke to me in that car,
nevertheless I decided to choose Jesus call to cancel my death sentence over my daughter continuing
feeding me crack cocaine and to leave my dysfunctional family curses that include sexual abusing,
mental abuse, and emotional abuse of our own children passed down through our family generations.
On the other hand, I do remember the righteous prays of my grandmother because she spent three days
walking around her house in real prays for my life and after the three day s where up she says to me
that she was told by God that she had to send me back home to mother in order for God to use me.
However, I could not understand her when she says this to me because she had no phone, radio, car, or
a T.V set all, so who told her to send me back home to my mother. In fact, all my grandmother had
with her these three days was her bible that she kept lay across her arm as she moves throughout the
day inside and out of her home. However, I felt like her love for me was real because each time she
spoke to me in a very soft voice as she pointed in her bible to show me what she says was right in the
word of God. Although, I had never meet her before, or never seen a picture of her before, or I had

The Use Of Steroids In Professional Sports
Since the beginning of sports athletes have sought a way to get an advantage over their opponents;
Whether it be in ancient rome using berries to give a sight stimulation during competition or today
injecting steroids to shave that extra second off your run, the use of PED s are all over sports and are
not leaving anytime soon. Steroid use in sports should be legalized because they will revolutionize the
modern athlete, save thousands of money on drug tests, and no more athletes will lose their careers
over doping scandals. Today the modern athletes are expected to perform at the top level in front of
huge audiences, while most rise to the challenge some feel the need for an extra edge to top off their
performances. According to the USADA doping is anything from abusively using caffeine to blood

Essay On Organized Crime
Organized crime has existed since the creation of the world, but has evolved over time. Before the
1920s, most organized crime consisted of gambling and prostitution. The passing of the 18th
Amendment significantly changed organized crime for many years. It gave rise to bootlegging,
gangsters, gang wars, and other various crimes. Bootlegging became the main source of income for
gangsters, helping them fund their other crimes. Overall, the passing of the 18th Amendment caused
organized crime to broaden and become a much larger industry. America had started to see much more
crime and violence early in the 1900s due to the large increase in immigration. Many Americans had
believed the source of these crimes and other downfalls of fellow Americans ... Show more content on

The First Time Of The Second Time
For this essay I compared the first time I went to Massachusetts compare to the second time. The first
time was when I was 15 years old, the second time was when I was 19. When I was in 7th grade I met
my lifelong friend Caitlin. We did almost everything together. If you saw one of us the other was close
behind. When I was 13 years old, she and her family moved to Massachusetts. Both of these
experiences were completely different. I will talk about the pros and cons of both of the trips.
The first time I went to Massachusetts I went for an entire week I was only 15 years old my
grandparents drove me to York County and then I was picked up by Caitlin s parents and brought to
their house in Marlboro, Massachusetts. We had a lot of fun, but because of our age, we were limited
to what we could do. We couldn t go to the store by yourself. We couldn t go to the mall by yourself.
We couldn t do much other than go for walks that the place is only a mile away. Caitlin got me hooked
on Monster when I was up there so I had seven in one week and ended up going home with a UTI, and
my hair blonde when I was trying to make it light brown. When I was there it was hard because
Caitlin s mom was always telling her she needs to clean she need to watch her siblings, she needed to
do everything that her mom said and we spend the entire vacation cleaning and doing work that her
mom wanted. Those were all the cons. The pros of the trip was that I got to see her and got to spend

Cummings, T.G and Worley raises the concept about change, for the trends to occur the organization
must undergo through changes. Cummings is able to sew together the organization with the emerging
trends to bring the concept of change making him the main source (Kelley, 2002). Findings
Technology
Some of the major trends in surrounding areas of organizational development in training and strategy
in Japan are mostly brought about by challenges. These challenges then lead to problem solving which
results to change thus new trends are formed. It is thus of great importance to discuss the macro issues
responsible for bringing about these trends. These may include changes in technology. Japan is among
the leading countries when it comes to science and technology; this puts Japan in a situation where it
is ever changing in terms of infrastructure and developments. Technology brings about new ideas into
reality, this leads to the organizations having to draft new ways to adopt.
When organizations are training their employees, the emerging trends do not allow them to leave
technology behind; this includes the use of mobile phones and online training. The result is increased
efficiency in work. The organization will tend to undertake those projects that are useful, and
resourceful, hence it will easily adapt to changes brought about by technology. Also these trends are in
most cases responsible for

Van Toller (1994) noted that malodour associated with skin ulceration can lead to serious
psychological problems, ranging from general depression to becoming a virtual social outcast.
The community nurses had actively encouraged Mrs. Smith to re establish social interactions with old
friends. However, Young (2005) observed that patients can interpret this type of encouragement as a
lack of understanding by nurses of the effect that their condition is having on their life. Wilkes et al
(2003) conducted a qualitative study on the effect of malodour on nurses and found that adverse
feelings such as nausea were common. However, nurses hide these emotions from their patients to
protect the patients feelings.
The community nurses decided that they needed to talk to Mrs. Smith about the odour and involve her
in selecting a dressing product that was designed to alleviate or reduce the problem. The assessment
identified that the wound was infected with beta haemolytic streptococci and Staphylococcus aureus
and a two week course of systemic antibiotics was prescribed.
Wound odour is often a complication of bacterial infection and the presence of infection explained
why Mrs. Smith had experienced a worsening of the odour in recent weeks (Hack, 2003).
Odour is subjective and is difficult to quantify accurately (de Laat et al, 2005). The wound assessment

Exploratory Response
Exploratory Essay 1: Reading This exploratory essay will examine Suheir Hammad s poem Break as it
speaks to the Humanities Methods in Ethnic Studies. My central analysis is that Hammad s enthralling
poem is predominately catered to the aspects of the human category of this assignment. Furthermore,
this poem can be viewed as counter hegemonic. It shows that her stanzas connote a re enunciation of
personality and requires a redistribution of emblematic power. Therefore, this poem exhibits an
innovative piece that points to more grounded potential outcomes for Middle Eastern women dealing
with the atrocities of war from a feminist critique point of view. The Poem speaks to various issues

According to Mary Jane Knopf Newman in her article Book Review: breaking poems she maintains
that Hammad s poem is Plaiting various broken sites from that summer New York, Beirut, Gaza, Khan
Yunis, Dahaysha refugee camp, Bombay, New Orleans, and Baghdad she writes from her body in a
way that resonates with the French feminist mode of ´ecriture f´eminine (264). Based on this evidence
as we can see how and why in this poem we see these different regions of the world and why she
refers to her body within the context and form of the poem. On page 11 we see how Hammad
translates her body into language as the body of words and spaces as a way to re construct the layers
of damage caused by Israeli terrorism (Mary Jane Knopf Newman 264). Making another solid parallel
between Shohat and Hammad, on page 67 Shohat states that the multicultural/transnationalist feminist
critique of the production of knowledge developed over the past decade has not lost its relevance;
rather, it has gained renewed urgency (67). Both authors seem to have that distinct connection with
each other s literature while maintaining the feminist mentality in the foreground as it pertains to their

Single Mom
The Sum Up: It Ain t Easy Being A Single Mom
Apparently, among the myopic ultra conservative pundits of conventional wisdom, there is more than
enough of the blaming, shaming and lumping of single mothers into to one maternal heap of failure.
But that is blatantly unfair. It is undeniable that many women who find themselves single mothers
living in a tough economic situation made poor choices about planning for motherhood. However,
given that single mothers from a diversity of backgrounds are much more likely to be living with
economic insecurity than single fathers, it can t all be due to low income women s lousy decision
making or a lack of financial self restraint or a weak motivation to get a good education and job.
Because if you take in the bigger picture, you will find that a majority of low income mothers, who are
a family s lone breadwinner, are carrying the extra weight of low paying jobs and the high cost of
childcare, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kristi Williams, an associate professor of sociology at Ohio State University, published a study in the
American Sociological Review, which showed that the negative health consequences for single moms
can be long lasting, and they are unlikely to go away even if those women fare financially better later
in life. Research has clearly shown the toll that long term stress takes on health and we know that
single mothers have a great deal of stress in their lives, Williams said. Adding to that information,
Caryn Rabin, writing in The New York Times about single mothers health risks, explains, Middle aged
women who were single when they had their first child are in worse health than similar women who
were married when first giving birth. Clearly, the studies make an important point: the cumulative

Sexual Cultures In New Spain And New France
The sexual cultures of New Spain, New France, and New England evolved differently because of the
[d]ifferences in religious orientation, labor systems, demographic composition, and political authority
(Peiss 70). A couple of the main religions were catholic and puritan. The labor systems varied greatly
since there was farming, trading, or conquest by soldiers. With over a hundred different tribes of
Native Americans throughout the Americas as well as the Spanish, French Canadians, and English, the
demographic composition was very different in each settlement and colony (Anderson Bricker Native
Americans Notes). The political authority for the Spanish on conquest and missions was military
officials and the Franciscans, while the political ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, if a woman did perform the responsibilities of a man her hidden male organs would emerge.
Due to this belief, the distinction between men and women were defined by the clothes they wore and
the jobs they performed. When people such as Thomas Hall crossed dressed by wearing women s
clothes and doing a woman s job of needle work, they disrupted the social order of the colony (
Thomas or Thomasine? 78). If a man believed that Thomas was a woman and approached Thomas in a
sexual manner the man unknowingly would be committing a crime of sodomy, which the punishment
for this crime is to be put to death ( Massachusetts Colony s Laws 71). The definition of sodomy in
New England was when sexual relations occurred within the same sex (Godbeer 95, 96). Due to the
religious views of New England bestiality, sex with animals, was viewed as having sex with the Devil

This inner company transfer is outside control of NASA Rubber since if EROW cut back on orders; its
profit is hurt through the volume variance. EROW could change its purchase from NASA depends on
the sales prediction, inventory level, production capacity constraint and other economic factors.
Therefore, the uncertainty of the inner company transfer would weaken the accuracy of the production
estimates, and in turn affect the determination of the total fixed costs.
The determination of both two numbers above involves some uncertainties. Therefore, volume
variance is not an accurate measurement of the performance of NASA Rubber. To improve the
budgeting efficient, the management should consider transfer problem and other factors I addressed
above. Using relevant and proper information will help NASA Rubber in performance forecasting.

U.s. Maritime Transportation Security Act
Massport has enacted several policies and procedures to tighten security and better secure their
various waterfront terminals. These policies include, but may not be limited to:
1. Transportation Worker Identification Credential: Massport has mandated the use of the
Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and Massport Maritime Credentials for all
workers entering Conley Terminal and Black Falcon Cruise Terminal. Required by the Maritime
Transportation Security Act, TWIC is a threat assessment tool used to vet workers who require
unescorted access to secure maritime facilities, vessels and other critical assets (e.g. cyber systems).
Types of workers include, but may not be limited to, U.S. Coast Guard documented mariners, port and
terminal operators, truckers, equipment maintenance personnel and port security personnel. Following
a successful background check, workers are issued an identification which contains key employee
information including name, a photo and biometric data. Personnel requesting a Massport Maritime
Credential must present a TWIC card at the time of their request. Massachusetts currently supports
five TWIC enrollment locations. They are located in Pocasset, Brockton, Boston, Worcester and

Fate and omens were important aspects of the Roman culture, and tradition had it that, as a child,
Gaius Marius had found an eagle s nest that contained seven chicks. This was very unusual as there

La Haine Review Essay La Haine Review La Haine , a 93 minute film regarding about three adolescents(Vincent Cassel, Hubert Kounde, and Said Taghmaoui) who struggle to cope in a poverty stricken environment in which hatred and violence are part of everyday life. Even the title La Haine which is a French word, translated to The Hatred suggests what the film is about. Based on a true event, La Haine is inspired by a real event where a young man was murdered while being questioned at a Parisian Police station. In exploring racism in the Paris suburbs, this film has a direct contrast with more typical French films, such as Amelie(2001) which presents a far more romantic and idyllic vision of French life. The beginning of La Haine shows the beating of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This environment reinforces the adolescent s need to construct a masculine identity as Les Banlieues is a dangerous, threatening society to live in so this reinforces the need for a masculine identity because the adolescents feel that they have succeed in certain situations that requires physical strength and fitness and also tend to express themselves verbally and physically. This is shown after the beginning when Vinz has a banter with Said. Kassovitz develops the identities of Vinz, Said and Hubert in certain scenes. In the scene where Vinz finds a policeman s gun, his normal persona changes as Vinz vows to kill every policeman if the trio s friend,Abdel, dies. This depicts his masculinity as Vinz is subtly pressured to act masculine due to Abdel being in hospital and if Vinz appears to look or become weak then it will appear to Said and Hubert that Vinz is more feminine if Vinz expresses his emotions. This will also, as a whole, ruin Vinz s self esteem. Another scene where there is another development of Vinz s identity is the scene where the trio confronts an off duty cop. Vinz seemingly plays with the cop with the gun in his hand, suggesting that they should kill the cop. This shows another development in Vinz s masculine identity as Vinz is was challenged by Hubert that he won t kill a cop and this threatens his identity and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bob Wiley is transferred to Dr. Leo by a therapist who is tired of dealing with him. It was unethical for Dr. Marvin to accept Bob as a new patient, especially with all of his pressing needs, right before he was leaving. This was an insensitive act due to Bob s needs because Dr. Leo established a relationship with Bob and then left Bob stranded. In an educational environment school leaders must collaborate with staff through PLC s which are team meetings, faculty and staff meetings, school improvement committees, teacher appraisals periods (PDAS), and even casual conversation. Fascinatingly, the augmentation of the results of APD induced combination from the Leptin mitigated in the platelets found from the overweight or the obese patients in comparison to the normal weight patients. However, other studies showed no effect of Leptin at concentration levels of up to 500 ng/mL from obese and other normal weight subjects. Results from 44 women diagnosed with obesity, the plasma containing Leptin has a correlation with the excretion of urinary 11 dehydrothromboxane B2. Restrictions of caloric values reduces the levels of Leptin and the platelet activity is reduced in the process. This is evident from the reflection of decrease in the levels of P selectin concentration in the plasma. There is also a positive correlation of plasma Leptin and the concentrations of the plasminogen activator inhibitor 1 expressed in the men with the ischemic heart diseases. From professional follow up, it was observed that Leptin correlated significantly with the von Willebrand and fibrinogen factor (Reaven, 2011). Studies done in Swedish populations showed that there is a positive association of Leptin with the plasma fibrinogen and it also expresses an inverse relationship with the plasminogen activator found in tissues and its concentration in plasma (Townsend, 2012). The third weakness observed is the frequent use of cliché such as don t worry too much and that s normal which would give the client an impression that the nurse does not address and understand her situation well. This is because clichés sounds flippant ,do not always suit the current situation and could prevent the building of trust between the nurse and client (Dewit, 2001). One more weakness encountered is that the nurse might have frightened the client by saying that s serious! and the final outcome of the breast cancer when the client said she had discovered a hard substance on her left breast. The nurse may not be able to handle this situation as the client burst in to tears the moment that she heard the frightening statements. This would distract and confuse the client and therefore the pace of the interview would be disrupted (Hodgson, Martin, 2006). Rooms for improvement If time is allowed, the nurse could teach the client how to perform a thorough self examination in order to assist her detecting the body changes as the client seemed not to have enough knowledge on BSE. Secondly, open ended question should be adopted as the major type of interview questions because it allows maximum freedom for the client to respond in his or her own way (Balzer, Julia, 2004). First of all, they point out that the US housing crash damaged most of the Americans life, but such case is very impossible to happen in China because China saves far more than any other countries in the world. Secondly, the Chinese government s debt is much lower compared to the United State; hence the government is more capable when it comes to helping its banks in case of the assumed 20% of loans gone bad. Third, China s policymakers will take necessary strategies to ensure the overall impact on the economy is not as strong as we have experienced in the crash down of the US economy, once the correction of the price is foreseen. Some of the economists even debate that China s government will not allow the pop. As shown by the statistics, about 90% of the population own at least one home, where 65% of people s investments are in the property market. If the bubble were set to pop, the Chinese government will not be able to afford the consequences of the social unrest (The Bloomberg, 2014). So Xi will use all the necessary means to avoid the housing market from crashing down. One of the attempts is to implement a charge of 20% property tax on the sale of the second home; and the other is to require a 70% of down payment in the case of buying a second home. The Anger In A Room Of One s Own By Virginia Woolf The Anger of a Feminist Anger is a complex concept that is difficult for many to explain and manage, just as it is for Virginia Woolf in the text A Room of One s Own. Anger is defined as That which pains or afflicts, or the passive feeling which it produces; trouble, affliction, vexation, sorrow, yet this is far from concrete and does not contain the multiple aspects that anger brings to mind. It does not provoke the emotion in the reader itself as Virginal Woolf does in A Room of One s Own. She demonstrates her rage quite frequently in a multitude of ways in an effort to let her audience understand her thoughts and reasons. Virginia Woolf expresses her rage through her unflattering use of physical descriptions of the professor, bringing her emotions into the physical world, creating a villain out of the professor, forcing her audience to take her side. When Woolf s imagined speaker is reading in the library, she begins to sketch the imaginary professor who had writing the book she was reading, titled The Mental, Moral, and Physical Inferiority of the Female Sex. The speaker first describes this professor, Professor von X, as not in my picture a man attractive to women, (Woolf 31). Because this is the first way in which she describes him, it places a great weight on physical attributes. She says women would not find him attractive, using his physical appearance to symbolize her opinion of his ideals. Any women in the audience will be less likely to agree with his thoughts on inferiority since they are first judging him on his described appearance, which is not particularly endearing. This description also implies that men who think women inferior are less attractive to women, discouraging the behavior in any male audience members. By degrading the sexist professor, she ... • 20. Descriptive Adjectives And Dialogue In The Pigman By Paul... Description begins in the writer s imagination but should end in the reader s. Writing good dialogue is art as well as craft. Descriptive adjectives really help the readers see what it s like to be in the story and imagine what the characters look like and feel like at that moment. Dialogue helps the reader see the story from their point of view and shows us what they think of something else. In the story The Pigman by Paul Zindel, the author uses descriptive adjectives and dialogue to develop the story. Without descriptive adjectives, the reader won t be able to see or imagine how the characters look like, how the setting is described and you won t be able to know the characters emotion. Six feet tall, longish brown hair and blue eyes. As you can see, this helps the readers visualize how that character looks like so without descriptive adjectives, you wouldn t be able to imagine how the character looks. He was in his late fifties and was pretty big, and he had a bit of a beer stomach. From this quote you can see this shows he s old and don t take care of himself as much, so you can see how the character is like and act with descriptive adjective. At the top of the stairs was this plain old bathroom with a shower curtain that had all kinds of fish designs on it... The ceiling slanted on the far side, and there was only one window. After looking at this quote, you can tell that without descriptive adjectives you won t be able to visualize the setting which can connect to how the characters feel in a way. To break this all down, without descriptive adjectives it would leave us clueless and confused because we won t know anything about the characters(looks, emotions) and setting which would make the story perplexing and complicated. Dialogue is important because it helps us see things from the characters point of view, and we know what they think of something or someone else based on what they say and think. If Freud smokes, why can t I? Freud doesn t smoke anymore I told him. He s dead. This shows that John is a witty young man with a strong attitude. Smith incorporates many instants of imagery in order to convey her message, my arm on the rest beside yours, our lights pricking at the fog, tugging us patiently. Smith is trying to find direction in life and into how she wants to both act and be perceived, as but her path is unclear, just as the fog makes our road hazy. The use of imagery is also beneficial as it gives the reader insight into what Tracy K. Smith thought about her identity at different points in her life, such an instance is given in her childhood, What did it mean to smooth across the casket of your belly? What echoed there, if not me . (Smith, 6,7) This shows that Tracy had thought about her identity in the past, and wondered what it was. It gives the readers a sense of not knowing themselves, this would push anyone into a search or rethinking an identity, the same goes for Tracy. Rachel Joyce strategically uses imagery, He wanted to describe what it feels like to find your boy in a pool of vomit and carry him to bed and mop him up and pretend in the morning you have not seen that. He wanted to say what it was like to be a child and find the man who was your father in the same manner. He wanted to say, What happened? Was it me? Am I the link here? But he didn t. (Joyce, 256) Through Harold s accounts, it becomes undeniable that his son had put him in a frictional position, mentally challenging Harold, and putting the blame on him. His son s actions lead Harold to doubt the way he had brought his son up. The assessment identified that the wound was infected with beta haemolytic streptococci and Staphylococcus aureus and a two week course of systemic antibiotics was prescribed. Wound odour is often a complication of bacterial infection and the presence of infection explained why Mrs. Smith had experienced a worsening of the odour in recent weeks (Hack, 2003). Odour is subjective and is difficult to quantify accurately (de Laat et al, 2005). The wound assessment tool we used incorporates a crude odour tick chart using the categories offensive , ... • 30. Exploratory Response Exploratory Essay 1: Reading This exploratory essay will examine Suheir Hammad s poem Break as it speaks to the Humanities Methods in Ethnic Studies. My central analysis is that Hammad s enthralling poem is predominately catered to the aspects of the human category of this assignment. Furthermore, this poem can be viewed as counter hegemonic. It shows that her stanzas connote a re enunciation of personality and requires a redistribution of emblematic power. Therefore, this poem exhibits an innovative piece that points to more grounded potential outcomes for Middle Eastern women dealing with the atrocities of war from a feminist critique point of view. The Poem speaks to various issues such as relationality, difference, race, the human. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Based on this evidence as we can see how and why in this poem we see these different regions of the world and why she refers to her body within the context and form of the poem. On page 11 we see how Hammad translates her body into language as the body of words and spaces as a way to re construct the layers of damage caused by Israeli terrorism (Mary Jane Knopf Newman 264). Making another solid parallel between Shohat and Hammad, on page 67 Shohat states that the multicultural/transnationalist feminist critique of the production of knowledge developed over the past decade has not lost its relevance; rather, it has gained renewed urgency (67). Both authors seem to have that distinct connection with each other s literature while maintaining the feminist mentality in the foreground as it pertains to their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Single Mom The Sum Up: It Ain t Easy Being A Single Mom Apparently, among the myopic ultra conservative pundits of conventional wisdom, there is more than enough of the blaming, shaming and lumping of single mothers into to one maternal heap of failure. But that is blatantly unfair. It is undeniable that many women who find themselves single mothers living in a tough economic situation made poor choices about planning for motherhood. However, given that single mothers from a diversity of backgrounds are much more likely to be living with economic insecurity than single fathers, it can t all be due to low income women s lousy decision making or a lack of financial self restraint or a weak motivation to get a good education and job. Because if you take in the bigger picture, you will find that a majority of low income mothers, who are a family s lone breadwinner, are carrying the extra weight of low paying jobs and the high cost of childcare, and ... Kristi Williams, an associate professor of sociology at Ohio State University, published a study in the American Sociological Review, which showed that the negative health consequences for single moms can be long lasting, and they are unlikely to go away even if those women fare financially better later in life. Research has clearly shown the toll that long term stress takes on health and we know that single mothers have a great deal of stress in their lives, Williams said. Adding to that information, Caryn Rabin, writing in The New York Times about single mothers health risks, explains, Middle aged women who were single when they had their first child are in worse health than similar women who were married when first giving birth. Sexual Cultures In New Spain And New France The sexual cultures of New Spain, New France, and New England evolved differently because of the [d]ifferences in religious orientation, labor systems, demographic composition, and political authority (Peiss 70). A couple of the main religions were catholic and puritan. The labor systems varied greatly since there was farming, trading, or conquest by soldiers. With over a hundred different tribes of Native Americans throughout the Americas as well as the Spanish, French Canadians, and English, the demographic composition was very different in each settlement and colony (Anderson Bricker Native Americans Notes). However, if a woman did perform the responsibilities of a man her hidden male organs would emerge. Due to this belief, the distinction between men and women were defined by the clothes they wore and the jobs they performed. When people such as Thomas Hall crossed dressed by wearing women s clothes and doing a woman s job of needle work, they disrupted the social order of the colony ( Thomas or Thomasine? 78). If a man believed that Thomas was a woman and approached Thomas in a sexual manner the man unknowingly would be committing a crime of sodomy, which the punishment for this crime is to be put to death ( Massachusetts Colony s Laws 71). The definition of sodomy in New England was when sexual relations occurred within the same sex (Godbeer 95, 96). Due to the religious views of New England bestiality, sex with animals, was viewed as having sex with the Devil himself ( William Bradford Witnesses 76). The economic problem caused by sex with slaves or indentured servants was that the women would be unable to work for a year or two if they became pregnant thus the masters would lose valuable workers they paid for. This inner company transfer is outside control of NASA Rubber since if EROW cut back on orders; its profit is hurt through the volume variance. EROW could change its purchase from NASA depends on the sales prediction, inventory level, production capacity constraint and other economic factors. Therefore, the uncertainty of the inner company transfer would weaken the accuracy of the production estimates, and in turn affect the determination of the total fixed costs. The determination of both two numbers above involves some uncertainties. Therefore, volume variance is not an accurate measurement of the performance of NASA Rubber. To improve the budgeting efficient, the management should consider transfer problem and other factors I addressed above.
