Cystax Vs Apocalypse Now
In the movie Apocalypse Now, which is a very unique and special movie. Many people still wonder
why this movie is so popular and special in 1979. Which took me awhile to understand, because the
quality of the movie like photography and sounds is not as good as it could be, also one thing that
bothered me is the fogginess, they kept adding to the background, which it didn t feel natural and
shouldn t be in the movie. However, let s not forget when this film was released which is 1979 and if
you compare any movies with Apocalypse Now, well you couldn t compare them. Like I was
watching some movie scenes that was made from the 1970 s and they were not near as good, and
looked so fake and very unprofessional overall. But Apocalypse ... Show more content on

Apocalypse Now Redux because they added more action and scenes that really made in impact ,like
for example one of my favorite scenes that s added is , French Plantation sequence. This scene that the
Captain and the other characters spoke about the war and about their own land that they have been
having for 70 years, which is a sad scene, but an inspirational speech, which really touched Captain
Benjamin L. Willard heard because these people were not going to give up in their land or leave there
land that they have been having for over 70 years. Also at the same time the French people did help
bury Tyrone Miller as well, so there are important things they did add in Apocalypse Now Redux.
Which even little things like Basically the Captain and the Crew just bonding, which since in this
movie the crew is in a war you want to understand the connection with the Captain and Crew.
Apocalypse Now Redux we got that extra touch which made us have a stronger bond with other
characters in the movie not just the Captain but like for example Tyrone and Jay Hicks. Which they
both goofed around and read letters which those little things is added to the movie, but gives a bigger

Moral Disagreement By Kwame Anthony Appiah
All around the world today, there is a lot of tension revolving around concepts of morality. In Moral
Disagreement by Kwame Anthony Appiah, Appiah writes about differing values and morals around
the world and within our society. He points out, we aren t the only people who have the concepts of
right and wrong, good and bad; every society, it seems, has terms that correspond to these thin
concepts (658). However, these concepts are not always the same with each other in every society. In
the same way that not everyone in our society believes in the same moral concepts. Unfortunately, it is
these disagreements that often separate us as people. Forming different cultures, large and small,
throughout the world. This is not a bad thing, but it does separate us as a race, leaving us to care more
for one group of people rather than humanity as a whole. In Patriotism and Cosmopolitanism, by
Martha Nussbaum, Nussbaum suggest that a way to fix this problem, and to become a cosmopolitan
person, is to teach students in our education systems more of different cultures throughout the world.
Yet not only should we learn to accept other cultures and their beliefs, but we should also educate
ourselves to accept everybody we meet, giving respect to them as individuals, if we ever truly want to
become a citizen of the world. Acceptance is a quality that is lacking within the world. Many people
do not want to accept that, for example, not everybody thinks like the. In recognition of this

The Battles of Philippi
The Battles of Philippi (42 BCE):
The Death of the Roman Republic The battles of Philippi remain one of the best examples of how
audacity on the battlefield can influence history. The battles are the climax of the civil war following
the assassination of Gaius Julius Caesar in 44 BCE by a band of prominent political figures of Rome;
(led by Marcus Junius Brutus (Brutus) and Gaius Cassius Longina (Cassius)) who will be referred to
in this paper as the Liberators . The Battles that occurred on the Macedonian plains from the 1st 21st
of October 42 BCE will clearly show that no matter the period of history the battlefield considerations
of Political, Military, Economic, Social, and Physical Environment can be exploited to achieve
victory. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Well situated on the high ground fortifications the Liberator forces could have simply outlasted the
forces of the Triumvirate. Pro Caesarian forces occupied low swampy coastal plain not well situated to
support a Roman army. In an attempt to overcome Triumvirate limitations, Mark Antony constructed a
causeway to support a troop movement to the Liberator s rear. Upon receiving intelligence that
Cassius had ordered a wall to be built cutting the causeway and isolating Mark Antony from the field,
Mark Antony seized the opportunity and attacked the Liberators (Appian, 2007). Using this technique
Mark Antony forced Cassius hand and ultimately his suicide. The Battles of Philippi hold many
lessons that apply to today s battlefield. The clearest lesson is that boldness will carry the day. By
seizing the initiative Mark Anthony overcame disadvantages of terrain and logistics. His unpredictable
actions led to the deaths of the two men that posed the largest threat to the Triumvirate. By
understanding the effect of shock, the value of initiative, and courage the Triumvirate commanders
would carry the day. Mark Antony s understanding of enemy force structure and doctrine, the effects
of culture, and experience as a leader allowed him to outwit his foe. His effective use of scouts and
effective intelligence about Liberator intentions allowed him to

Of Justice In William Shakespearer, Hamlet, And Thomas...
William Shakespeare s King Lear, Hamlet, and Thomas Hardy s Mayor of Casterbridge each examine
both the search for and the effects of justice. King Lear is a case study of a failed monarch and his
remorse for not having been a better king. Hamlet tasks a teenage boy with avenging his father s
death, prompting questions about morality and righteousness. The Mayor of Casterbridge is a man s
attempts to reconcile his shortcomings with what he feels is right. Tragically, in each of these works
the search for justice, or the character s flawed understanding of it, is ultimately unsuccessful,
resulting in injustice towards others. King Lear is defined by the figurehead monarch s quest for what
he sees as justice for himself. After Goneril and Regan betray him by refusing to house his nights,
King Lear calls upon the heavens avenge him and punish his daughters with a storm. O heavens, he
implores, If you do love old men, if your sweet sway Show obedience, if you yourselves are old,
Make it your cause. Send down, and take my part (2.4.217 220). These lines, uttered in the raw
emotion of a man who feels wronged by those he loves, are representative of Lear s temper and
distress when things don t go his way. His daughters perceived insult to him spurs a helpless call for
justice from the gods, a justice Lear no longer can carry out because he has divested himself of power.
Lear s inability to forcefully delve justice This hearkens back to his overhasty reaction towards

Twyla Tharp Biography

I was thinking about that old fashion saying, Break a leg as a form of good luck. Perhaps it was for the
best not to be part of this last dance. Although, I know I am missing out, especially when we are trying
to emulate some of Twyla Tharp techniques and influences. She is such an interesting choreographer. I
never had heard of silent dances or thought about combining ballet, which is more traditional, with
modern dance, yet I think it s quite genius.

Early Fear Research Paper
Fear triggering events can have long lasting and significant changes on the developing child,
beginning with infancy. Research shows that very young infants can learn to fear people, certain
places and events. Science has also proved that young children can sense a threat in their environment,
but unlike adults they do not have the physical or cognitive ability to control their psychological
response nor to remove themselves from a dangerous situation or to lessen the threat. Learned fear
responses may disrupt the function of the stress response system. It could make it harder for the body
to react to typical everyday stress. Normal situations and circumstances can cause outcomes that are
harmful to a child s development when a fear is learned. Children do not ... Show more content on

Learned fear and memories that occur early in a child s life get built into their brain structure and do
not change with age. Persistent fear and unreasonable threats during children s developmental growth,
may develop unhealthy patterns of fear, stress and anxiety. This fear and anxiety will not naturally
disappear over time. Removing a child from a dangerous environment will not reverse the serious
consequences or change the negative impacts of early fear learning, but there is no doubt that a child
in harm s way should be removed from that situation. However, only moving a child out of danger
does not reverse or change the way a fear has been learned. The child remembers the learned fear and
anxiety. These memories and thoughts are sufficient to sustain ongoing fears and make a child
anxious. Science demonstrates that these fears and anxieties requires active work and treatment.
Children who have been traumatized need to be in safe and secure environment that can bring back
their sense of predictability, control and safety. Interventions are needed to help children in these
situations. It is crucial to note that communities need to work together to diminish the sources of fear

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Marriage is a ritual that marks a change in status for a man and a woman and the acceptance by
society of the new family that is formed (Rosman Rubel, 1981). Marriage, like other customs, is
governed by rules (Rosman Rubel, 1981). Anthropology has represented marriage as the definitive
ritual and universally translatable regulative ideal of human societies (BORNEMAN, 1996). Marriage
also the act of joining two persons of opposite sex together to become as husband and wife. Many
people in the society have different opinions or outright misconception of the meaning of marriage.
While some people see it as a union between a man and woman, others take it to mean an agreement

Golden Age Of Animation
Animation plays an enormous role in the entertainment industry today. The Global Animation and
Gaming Market is estimated to be worth $242.92 billion (as of 2016), and animated films are the most
profitable of any film genre. This industry has widespread influence amongst all age groups, and the
films produced can span any genre. The industry has seen major changes with the recent advances in
computer generated animation techniques. To fully understand animation, it s important to see where it
began. What is considered animation? That question is more loaded than many believe, as the
definition of animation is still debated today. This allows for some controversy as to what is the first
ever animation. Some believe that the cave painting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this time, many classic characters emerged, including Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Superman,
and countless others. Disney released many feature length films during this time, including Snow
White and the Seven Dwarfs, Fantasia, and Dumbo. Warner Bros cartoons was founded in 1933,
notably allowing their animators more freedom to develop different styles than other studios at the
time. As disney started to make the shift into primarily focusing on feature length films, Warner Bros
continued to focus on making shorts, such as the successful Looney Tunes series. The Golden Age
started to rely more on voice actors to help bring these characters to life, and scores played by studio
orchestras to complete the story. During this time, colored televisions became available to more and
more Americans changing the ways they can receive their entertainment. In 1958 the Huckleberry
Hound Show was the first half an hour television show to feature only animation. This eventually led
to popular cartoons such as The Flintstones, being featured on primetime television. The golden age of
animation came to an end when televised cartoons started to gain large viewerships, and animated
shorts lost their popularity in

The Federalists And Democratic Republicans
From 1789 to 1816, the Federalists and Democratic Republicans approached many problems
differently, sometimes however, they had the same solutions to problems which were posed by
England and the Native Americans. The Federalists and Democratic Republicans both had different
and sometimes similar viewpoints on how to solve the problems they faced during this particular time
period. Federalists supported a strong, huge government that had a loose constriction of the
constitution. They also supported the National Bank, exercise tax. Also, they thought tariffs should be
high, and they believed in an industrial world filled with huge businesses and mass production of
goods. However, the Democratic Republicans wanted a more agrarian culture. They did not want a
huge government, National bank, excise taxes, and they wanted the tariffs to be low. Some difficulties
that the two parties faced were that the British created were impressments of sailors, assisting the
Native Americans in war against the United States, and the Orders in Council of 1805. The Native
Americans also generated problems for America because they resisted land expansion. Because of
their standards and beliefs, this shows how the two parties faced these particular problems that were
caused by Britain and the Native Americans. Therefore, the Federalists and Democratic Republicans
solved problems differently, but sometimes they had the same idea to work together in order to
effectively fix both of the parties

I have actually been trying for a while. I was taking some meds that made me gain like 5lb a month

that s; fast food, and alcohol. I tried to tell myself that eating chicken sandwiches from Wendy s or
chicken soft tacos from taco bell was healthy. Obviously it isn t. I have actually started grilling all of
my food (mainly chicken and some pork tenderloin) and not only do I feel better, but I enjoy grilling
and it tastes much better. The alcohol thing is probably temporary but the amount of alcohol to get me

In J.D. Salinger s Nine Stories , there are two stories that indicate a death, and, remarkably, these two
short stories are what begin and end this captivating piece of literature. The first story is called A
Perfect Day for Bananafish and introduces a man who has been through the hell of World War II,
which allows him to see things from a different perspective. The latter is called Teddy and revolves
around a young, ingenious boy that seems to have a speculative mindset and very deep insight into
life. In both stories the reader is introduced to a genius , but the geniuses, with all the potentials at
hand, end up going mad and killing themselves. However, this proves to be Salinger s point. It
demonstrates a fine line that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Seymour takes his own life, we backtrack to his story and he is then seen as a celestial figure,
ahead of his time and full of wisdom. Metaphorically speaking, the bananafish ideology depicts
humanity in the postwar boom generation, where riches surround all people. However, amidst all the
possessions, we cannot help ourselves and we continuously and relentlessly consume, regardless of
what may happen as a result. We are each trapped in our own banana filled hole, in which Seymour
ultimately escapes from through his death.
In the final short story Teddy , the main character is a ten year old boy who is as intuitive and
intelligent as any character gets in this novel, with the exception of Seymour of course. Like Seymour
Glass, Teddy sees the world differently than his peers. The two tend to focus their a lot of their
attention on small details, such as orange peels, the colour of bathing suits, a woman that seemingly
looks at Seymour s feet, and appear to mirror a larger scale vision of humanity. Teddy s orange peels
recall Seymour s bananafish. Both their objects, in Seymour s case an imaginary one, are somewhat
allegorical in a sense that they seem to suggest a philosophical portrayal of humanity. To clarify,
Teddy first notices the orange peels floating and finds them interesting. The remnants of what was
once a living fruit, now floating, lifeless on the dark water. Later on he notes that, if he had not seen

Job Maintenance Or Knowledge Retention
When talking to my Company Officer, Captain Polston, about the scenario where a division officer is
asked to sign line items that have not been completed, she stated that it is a real problem that I will
face in the fleet. According to Captain, in some units in the fleet, there is a culture where marking off
task or line items is the norm. Especially when facilitated by the E 4 to E 6 level community, where
items signed off without verifying that the subordinate retained the knowledge or completed the job.
The reasoning behind speed signing line items is that somebody did it for me, so I m going to do it for
someone else. A bro before joe atmosphere has developed in these units, where it is expected that
items will be signed with minimal effort in job maintenance or knowledge retention. Captain stated
that enlisted in these select units enlisted do not necessarily mean to harm anyone and are not all
laxidasical, but rather have assimilated into a culture where this type of conduct is accepted.
Therefore, Captain urged that we as divisional officers develop a motto of trust, but verify. It was
discussed that sometimes, it is easy to want to trust your enlisted and even Chief when an inspection is
coming around. However, we need to remember that we are ultimately responsible for the
maintenance of our division and the knowledge/ readiness of our crew. Therefore, we must
occasionally inspect the division ourselves to ensure that all standards are met and completed

Advantages And Effects Of Refugee Refugees
Refugee warriors are citizens of one state who crossed the border as a refugee and live in in a
neighboring country. Citizens live in camps on the borders of the state that they were born. In the
camps the refugees live in the refugee warriors conduct war against the regime that is in power or
control. Sometimes we feel sympathy for what they do and in other instances we may disapprove.
Whether we approve or disapprove their actions they are refugee warriors and if they have and if they
flee from their home and live in neighboring countries like refugee communities and start attacks
against the regime that is in power in their home from bases in the neighboring countries. There are
conditions in being a refugee warrior and to be a member a person s parents or grandparents fled from
a region in their place of origin and secondly the person uses violence to remove the regime that is in
control. The base for carrying on the conflict is placed in refugee communities in neighboring
countries. Refugee warriors weaken the regime in their home country and their host state but that
doesn t mean that refugee warriors are bad because free their own people from persecution.

The Consequences Of Due Care And Diligence In A Business
Due care occurs when a company does not inform their workers what is expected of them, and the
action that the company will take against them if their acts or illegal or unethical. Due diligence
requires a business to continuously safeguard others (Whitman Mattord, 2014). Due care and diligence
when in regards to the law and information security, is the way a company or a person cares about the
product they produce are dependable. . Due diligence is the determination made by an ordinarily
prudent or reasonable party to elude damage to an additional party, when there is no attempt to try, this
is seen as more or less a level of negligent behavior, and agreements will frequently state that the
seller must be responsible for due diligence (Freeman, 2007).
Negligence is conduct which involves an unreasonably great risk of causing damage. Due care is
conduct which does not involve such a risk. The essence of negligence is unreasonableness; due care
is simply reasonable conduct. When due care consists in taking precautions against harm, only
reasonable precautions need be taken, not every conceivable or possible precaution In certain cases
skill or special knowledge is an element in due care; i. e., it is unreasonable for a person who has not
competent knowledge or skill to do certain acts. During mergers acquisitions companies should
execute a thorough process that begins with a rigorous due diligence phase and follows through post
implementation periods (Terry, 1915).

Deviance And Social Control Book Report
For many years deviant behavior and social control have been a common topic of discussion. The
book Deviance and Social control by Michelle Inderbitzin, Kristin Bates and Randy Gainey, gives
readers a greater outlook on the relationship between deviance and social control. When someone acts
or behaves in a way that is different from what is considered as a norm or an accepted social standard,
it is known as deviance. For example, this explains when people join gangs, or even become
murderers. Objectively given conception of deviance is when everyone agrees to general set of norms;
this means everyone agrees to a particular norm and conditions of society. However, the objectively
given conception of deviance applies to gang members that murder because murdering someone is
viewed as a deviant behavior in society, and is viewed as unacceptable. Disciplinary actions that take

probation, imprisonment, fines, and hospitalization in a rehabilitation facility or mental institution. At
the age of 25 or older violent criminals should be sentenced to jail for the rest of their lives, and those
under 25 years of age should be incarcerated for 20 years. In this new version of social control inmates
that were arrested for murder would not receive commissary throughout their entire sentence, and they

matter what illegal behavior caused the offender to be imprisoned. The inmates rap sheet should play a

Notes On Romeo And Adolescent

Mass Media Communication
Definition
Mass media is a media intended for a large audience. It may take the form of broadcast media, as in
the case of television and radio, or print media, like newspapers and magazines. Internet media can
also attain mass media status, and many media outlets maintain a web presence to take advantage of
the ready availability of Internet in many regions of the world. Some people also refer to it as the
mainstream media, referencing the fact that it tends to stick to prominent stories which will be of
interest to a general audience, sometimes ignoring controversial breaking news. Many people around
the world rely on this form of media for news and entertainment, and globally, it is a huge industry.

Negative effects of Mass Media for teenagers, The exposure of sex images and excessive portraits of
violence in movies and dramas have instilled negative thoughts and taboos in the mind of these
teenagers for they have been consistently getting increased exposure to things which are not suitable

one of the critical global problem of today which is threatening our next generations for being
unhealthy and being exposed to many serious diseases and sicknesses such as diabetes, high blood

Women are obsessive with losing weight even if they are not being fat or obese. This is due to the
influence of the media in portraying that successful women are always thin. Many teenagers,
especially girls were greatly influenced with the slim figure of their favorite celebrity. As a results,
some of these teenage fans were so deep into the dieting and slimming concerns which lead them to
severe health issues and fatal death in serious situation.

Slavery In The Piano Lesson
Slavery: The Piano Lesson The role of slavery in the lives of African American characters in The
Piano Lesson is extremely important. Every single motivating factor and aspect of the play revolves
around undertones of slavery. From the history of the piano to Boy Willie s dream of owning land, the
entire play deals with this issue. Berniece and Boy Willie may want different things, but they both are
trying to break free of oppression. It is clear that in The Piano Lesson the legacy of slavery deeply
affects all characters, henceforth motivating them in every aspect of their lives to break free from the
mold that is slavery. Boy Willie wants one thing in his entire life and that is to own land. To him there
is no other factor that depicts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He tells us the history of the family and acts as a mediator between Boy Willie and Berniece. He is the
stereotypical African storyteller that narrates what actually happened. He has seen Sutter s ghost and
does want the piano to be gone, but will not give it up to Boy Willie without Berniece s permission.
His claim to freedom is the fact that he owns the house. Technically, by owning the house he owns
land and is as free of a man as any. When he was young, he worked on the railroads which is basically
slavery. He knows many songs and they are his emotional attachment to slavery, he sings to let out his
emotions. In a pivotal moment Doaker says that, I am just living the best way I know how. I ain t
thinking about no top or no bottom. In response to a question about how all African men live on the
bottom of life. He has broken his chains and is living the absolute only way that he knows how to.
While slavery still affects Doaker, he has come to terms with

Baby Step 1: Put $1000 in a Beginner Fund
This may not seem like a major move in becoming debt free, but it gives us well needed practice in
changing our behaviors to start becoming money minded. For me this was a step that was already
complete, however, for some this may be the hardest step to take because it requires them to change
and become committed to a new process (Ramsey, 2012).
Baby Step 2: Pay Off All Debt Using the Debt Snowball
The debt snowball is a simple concept by which the user makes a list of all of their outstanding debts
from lowest to highest and starts paying them off. This step takes some coordination through
budgeting and lifestyle reduction. In the Chapter titled Dumping Debt , Dave states that the first thing
we should do to eliminate debt, is to quit borrowing money, which includes using credit cards
(Ramsey, 2012). This is such a profound revelation, taking that credit card debt is up to 887 billion
dollars as of January 2015 (Nasdaq, 2014).
Baby Step 3: Put Three To Six Months of Expenses into a Savings Account for a Full Emergency
This Baby Step is very important because no income is a sure thing. If our income flow suddenly
stopped, how would we make ends meet? According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the average
American household drummed up $51,100 in annual expenses (US Department of Labor, 2014). This
means that the average American would need $12,000 25,000 in saving

Pros And Cons Of Being An Australian Shepherd
I think the best pet for anyone who desires one would be an Australian shepherd. They are very loyal
dogs, they love to play and they will do anything to protect their families. They are farming dogs, but
they make very good house pets. On farms they are used to herd sheep and cattle, but this is irrelevant
to having them as a house pet. Although as a puppy they love to herd things like people or other
animals. I personally think they are a good dog because my Family has had 2 Australian Shepherds
until one of them died, but they have been very loyal, and overall good dogs.
These types of dogs have a beautiful coat with colors like Black, Red Merle, Red tricolor, Merle, Red,

Essay on Threat to Internet Privacy
Threat to Internet Privacy
Abstract
At what level is Internet surveillance by the United States government acceptable to society,
considering a balance between security and privacy, what are the short and long term implications, and
how does it affect the rest of the world.
Introduction
Privacy from governments has been under assault increasing amounts in the last 100 years.
Technology has revolutionized the concept, as before we had microphones, telephones, wiretaps,
video cameras, someone would actually need to trespass to violate your privacy. For example, you
would need to actually be in someone?s house to eavesdrop on his or her conversation without
technological help[1]. Privacy protection can be looked at as how ... Show more content on

But a prudent teacher could buy them in another town to avoid this act being discovered by the school.
But with computer technology, the bar code on the condoms could be tied to the credit card number
and to the school records, informing the school that a teacher made an unacceptable purchase[2],
potentially costing the teacher his or her job. Current technology makes such a scenario feasible.
However, such a compilation of publicly available information seems like quite an intrusion of
privacy.
Yet, this ability to track someone?s actions could be used to catch potential criminals and terrorists. A
terrorist could research how to make a bomb online, take flight lessons, and communicate with other
terrorists over email. If this activity were properly monitored, the terrorist could be caught before any
harm was done. Current practices of monitoring based on the Patriot Act have been given credit for
catching more terrorists than ever before[3]. At what level are we willing to give up our personal
privacy for security?
The United States has long had a practice of respecting privacy and considering it an individual right.
In 1890, the U.S. Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis stated that individuals have a ?right to be left
alone?[4]. The courts have used this repeatedly as the basis for upholding personal privacy, though
just as often overlooked this right when

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY AND CLASSROOM BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT PLAN
Griffith University Personal Philosophy of Teaching and Learning
A classroom is a very dynamic and spontaneous place. Every classroom is comprised of a diverse
combination of individuals who all contribute to the unpredictable nature and uniqueness of the class.
The reality that no two students are alike and no two classes are ever alike, contributes greatly to the
difficulty of establishing a realistic and effective classroom management plan. It is important that
teachers realize that a classroom is an unpredictable place and that it is much more reasonable to strive
to manage their classroom as opposed to trying to control it. I see my role as a managing teacher as ...

Students should be given choices when it is at all possible and they should always be treated with
respect. Rogers presents a number of very useful and reasonable suggestions for successful behaviour
management. By combining the ideas from each of the theories that best suit my classroom situation I
hope to be able to create a learning environment that not only makes my students feel safe, but also
inspires them to be creative and allows them to learn to their maximum potential.
In order to allow for optimal learning there are a number of other issues which must be addressed
including gender issues, bullying and inclusive education. While growing up my older brother got
bullied a lot. As a result of these experiences I have always had a serious opposition to any and all
types of bullying. When I become a teacher I plan to establish a no tolerance policy for any and all
types of hurtful behavior. I will discuss bullying with my class and through role play and group
discussions make them aware of the issue. It also is extremely important for teachers to remember that
boys and girls are different. They learn differently, they behave differently and as a result have distinct
needs in a classroom. Unfortunately with so many female teachers at the primary level the education
system is becoming feminized and boys are being left behind. As a female teacher at the primary level

Hrolf Kraki Kings
In The Saga of King Hrolf Kraki we are introduced to multiple kings who are different in many ways.
Each one of these achieve their leadership roles in different ways and are held to different standards.
Some of these kings include King Frodi, King Hegi, and of course King Hrolf Kraki. King Frodi is
one of the first kings mentioned in The Saga of King Hrolf Kraki and portrayed as the jealous, cold
hearted brother of Halfdan. King Frodi and King Halfdan both achieved their leadership due to being
sons of a previous king. We are told the King Frodi envied his brother because he ruled Denmark, so
much so that he gathered a group of men and burned and destroyed everything (Pg. 1) During this
action, King Frodi seized and killed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
King Helgi then used a beggar to trick Queen Olof into going into the woods in the search of treasure.
King Helgi then took her and raped her. This shows how although kings during that time were seen to
be ideal warriors, they were also flawed. Like King Frodi, King Helgi lacked some morals and
eventually suffers the consequences of his actions when his daughter Yrsa who later found out that he
was her father and he had raped her mother, had him attacked. Then there is King Hrolf Kraki who
shows us an example of what was a truly great king. King Hrolf has most of the honorable traits of
that time that allowed him to obtain his leader ship along with his fame. Hrolf was for the most part
successful in his battles due to being able to gather up many noble warriors who were called King
Hrolf s Champions He treated these mean with a certain brotherhood that isn t really shown by the
other kings in the Saga. This appears to be an important trait for him to have during this time and it
works in his favor. As more men heard about how he honored his champions, they were attracted
towards him which allowed him to build a decent sized army of warriors. An example of this
happening is when Svipdag told his king that he was leaving because he wanted to look for a king who
will honour (Pg. 30) him and his brothers more. Although King Hrolf Kraki had many honorable traits
he too was flawed like most people. One mistake

In the list of all the things the soldiers carried, what item was most surprising? Which item did you
find most evocative of the war? Foot powder was most surprising to me. This also shows us how
much these soldiers had to travel in the war. In what sense does Jimmy love Martha? Why does he
construct this elaborate, mostly fictional, relationship with her: What does this reveal about his
character? The sense Jimmy loves Martha is that she gives him perseverance. Martha is the thing that
makes Jimmy get through the war, she s like Jimmy s rock she gives him the motivation to be with

THE STRATEGIES What is significant about the poncho in paragraph 2? What effect is created by its
use? The significance of the poncho explains how Ted was shot and how he was brought to the
helicopter in a poncho. This is a fast way to bring up death and sadness into a part of the story. In
paragraph 11 O Brien talks about unweighed fear . What does he mean by that? How does that further
the theme of the text? Unweighted fear includes all of the bad memories that were made during the
war as well as the good memories of the war. This furthers the theme because we are introduced to
physical burden but as the story progress, we slowly see mental burden are being introduced. what
tone is established by the last sentence of paragraph 13?The tone in the last paragraph is somewhat
nostalgic because Jimmy is replaying memories of Martha and imaging new incidents as his way to
escape war and work. What effect is created by the use of rhetorical questions in paragraph 18? The
rhetorical questions further describe how no one wanted to go down the tunnel. Furthermore,
rhetorical question creates a sense of paranoia because the tunnel wasn t as bad as they anticipated.
How would you characterize the diction O Brien uses? What is the effect the word choice he uses? O
Brien word choice emphasizes the hard work of the soldier. Also, the use of rhetorical question helps
us understand the thought process of a soldier THE ISSUES How did you view warfare

Children With Special Educational Needs
ADHD
Children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) for instance Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
(ADHD) can suffer with symptoms such as; being isolated from others, disruptive in everyday
environments such as a classroom, hyperactive as well as often having a short attention span and
easily distracted. (NHS, 2014) states, ADHD can occur in people of any intellectual ability, although it
is more common in people with learning difficulties. People with ADHD may also have additional
problems, such as sleep and anxiety disorders. Having the symptoms of ADHD at a young age, may
perhaps present particular challenges in school, causing teachers to struggle with the problems
children bring to the classroom without any additional help. The Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Code of Practice emphasises the need to identify children s difficulties quickly to ensure action is
taken to meet their needs.
The most common treatment for ADHD is a medication called methylphenidate
(MPH) this can be taken by both adults and children. Methylphenidate is known to enhance the
activity of dopamine and noradrenaline in the nervous system (MURRAY, D. ARNOLD, L.
SWANSON, J. WELLS, K. BURMS, K. JENSEN, P. 2008). MPH does, however, produce side effects
in many patients (ranging from headaches and decreased appetite to blurred vision, slowing of growth,
and psychotic symptoms such as auditory hallucination (ADLER, L. SPENCER, T. MCGOUGH, J.

Greek Myth And Play Oedipus The King Essay
Throughout the movie Lone Star, the influence of the Greek myth and play Oedipus the King play an
important role in the movie line. The influence that Oedipus has on the characters of Lone Star causes
the movie to become a modern interpretation of Sophocles infamous play. Although the two are
different and remain unique in their own regards, there are several key aspects that unite the movie
and play. Without the presence of boundaries, the issue of relationships and the influence of lies and
secrets on the characters and outlying communities Lone Star would not have connection to Oedipus
the King. An important theme to both Lone Star as well as Oedipus The King if that of boundaries.
This can be viewed in both a geographical sense as well as a personal journey. Sam Deeds in Lone
Star recently returned home to take up the post of his late father, the Sheriff of Rio County. The town,
named Frontera, lies on the border of Texas and Mexico, causing border crossing to be an apparent
theme in Sam s quest for justice. As Geoffrey W. Bakewell writes in his article Oedipus Tex: Lone
Star, Tragedy and Postmodernism Boundaries are crucial: crossing them brings knowledge and exacts
a price (39). Sam travels geographical borders in order to uncover the killer of Sheriff Charlie Wade as
well as to find out more about the habits of Buddy, Sam s late father. Sam desired to learn of the killer
of Charlie Wade, even if it was his father. However, the discovery of Wade s body opened

Albert Camus Suffering
In Albert Camus The Stranger, the novel centers around the life of Meursault, a French Algerian, who
begins the novel attending his mother s funeral. Meursault does not express grief over his mother s
death, and treats the day after the funeral as just another day with no nostalgia for what came before.
As the novel progresses, Meursault continuously shows this lack of emotion and connection to others
in his life, making him a stranger to not only the reader but other characters in the story. When
Meursault befriends a neighbor of his, Raymond, and helps him with his cheating Arab girlfriend, he

The Stranger acknowledges a different approach to life and reality, one with certainty and emphasis on
the individual. In Melissa Payne s Discussion of the Absurd in Albert Camus Novels, Essays and
Journals, she describes that Camus desires that man reads this novel and becomes disorientated and
divorced from any reality of which he knows. He must recognize that reality means that life exists and
death is approaching; Camus believes that these are the only truths, and abstractions no longer exist
(Payne 15). In the novel, Meursault knows that his death is approaching in the form of his execution
for the murder of the Arab. His crisis arises while questioning his past actions, an exercise out of
character with his belief that life is only about present choices and the dawn of the next day. Meursault
does not seek to absolve himself by turning to God or asking for forgiveness, but instead, accepts the
life he has chosen, freed by the certainty that death was inevitable one way or

The first method is the pyrogallic acid technique in a solid medium. This technique uses streak
cultures on nutrient agar slants. A person pushes a cotton plug into the tube until it almost touches the
slant. The space above the cotton gets filled with pyrogallic acid crystals and put sodium hydroxide in
there as well. Insert the stopper very tightly and then invert and incubate. The chemicals absorb the
oxygen which produces an anaerobic environment. The second method is the shake culture method in
a solid medium. This is a molten and cooled nutrient agar which is inoculated with a loopful of an
organism. The tube gets shaken, cooled quickly, and then incubated. The position of growth in the
tube makes it the index of gaseous requirements for an organism. The third method os the Paraffin

  • 2. Cystax Vs Apocalypse Now In the movie Apocalypse Now, which is a very unique and special movie. Many people still wonder why this movie is so popular and special in 1979. Which took me awhile to understand, because the quality of the movie like photography and sounds is not as good as it could be, also one thing that bothered me is the fogginess, they kept adding to the background, which it didn t feel natural and shouldn t be in the movie. However, let s not forget when this film was released which is 1979 and if you compare any movies with Apocalypse Now, well you couldn t compare them. Like I was watching some movie scenes that was made from the 1970 s and they were not near as good, and looked so fake and very unprofessional overall. But Apocalypse ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Which when I watch the movie Apocalypse Now and Apocalypse Now Redux the movie I prefer Apocalypse Now Redux because they added more action and scenes that really made in impact ,like for example one of my favorite scenes that s added is , French Plantation sequence. This scene that the Captain and the other characters spoke about the war and about their own land that they have been having for 70 years, which is a sad scene, but an inspirational speech, which really touched Captain Benjamin L. Willard heard because these people were not going to give up in their land or leave there land that they have been having for over 70 years. Also at the same time the French people did help bury Tyrone Miller as well, so there are important things they did add in Apocalypse Now Redux. Which even little things like Basically the Captain and the Crew just bonding, which since in this movie the crew is in a war you want to understand the connection with the Captain and Crew. Apocalypse Now Redux we got that extra touch which made us have a stronger bond with other characters in the movie not just the Captain but like for example Tyrone and Jay Hicks. Which they both goofed around and read letters which those little things is added to the movie, but gives a bigger impact in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Moral Disagreement By Kwame Anthony Appiah All around the world today, there is a lot of tension revolving around concepts of morality. In Moral Disagreement by Kwame Anthony Appiah, Appiah writes about differing values and morals around the world and within our society. He points out, we aren t the only people who have the concepts of right and wrong, good and bad; every society, it seems, has terms that correspond to these thin concepts (658). However, these concepts are not always the same with each other in every society. In the same way that not everyone in our society believes in the same moral concepts. Unfortunately, it is these disagreements that often separate us as people. Forming different cultures, large and small, throughout the world. This is not a bad thing, but it does separate us as a race, leaving us to care more for one group of people rather than humanity as a whole. In Patriotism and Cosmopolitanism, by Martha Nussbaum, Nussbaum suggest that a way to fix this problem, and to become a cosmopolitan person, is to teach students in our education systems more of different cultures throughout the world. Yet not only should we learn to accept other cultures and their beliefs, but we should also educate ourselves to accept everybody we meet, giving respect to them as individuals, if we ever truly want to become a citizen of the world. Acceptance is a quality that is lacking within the world. Many people do not want to accept that, for example, not everybody thinks like the. In recognition of this ... • 4. The Battles of Philippi The Battles of Philippi (42 BCE): The Death of the Roman Republic The battles of Philippi remain one of the best examples of how audacity on the battlefield can influence history. The battles are the climax of the civil war following the assassination of Gaius Julius Caesar in 44 BCE by a band of prominent political figures of Rome; (led by Marcus Junius Brutus (Brutus) and Gaius Cassius Longina (Cassius)) who will be referred to in this paper as the Liberators . The Battles that occurred on the Macedonian plains from the 1st 21st of October 42 BCE will clearly show that no matter the period of history the battlefield considerations of Political, Military, Economic, Social, and Physical Environment can be exploited to achieve victory. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Well situated on the high ground fortifications the Liberator forces could have simply outlasted the forces of the Triumvirate. Pro Caesarian forces occupied low swampy coastal plain not well situated to support a Roman army. In an attempt to overcome Triumvirate limitations, Mark Antony constructed a causeway to support a troop movement to the Liberator s rear. Upon receiving intelligence that Cassius had ordered a wall to be built cutting the causeway and isolating Mark Antony from the field, Mark Antony seized the opportunity and attacked the Liberators (Appian, 2007). Using this technique Mark Antony forced Cassius hand and ultimately his suicide. The Battles of Philippi hold many lessons that apply to today s battlefield. The clearest lesson is that boldness will carry the day. By seizing the initiative Mark Anthony overcame disadvantages of terrain and logistics. His unpredictable actions led to the deaths of the two men that posed the largest threat to the Triumvirate. By understanding the effect of shock, the value of initiative, and courage the Triumvirate commanders would carry the day. Mark Antony s understanding of enemy force structure and doctrine, the effects of culture, and experience as a leader allowed him to outwit his foe. His effective use of scouts and effective intelligence about Liberator intentions allowed him to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Of Justice In William Shakespearer, Hamlet, And Thomas... William Shakespeare s King Lear, Hamlet, and Thomas Hardy s Mayor of Casterbridge each examine both the search for and the effects of justice. King Lear is a case study of a failed monarch and his remorse for not having been a better king. Hamlet tasks a teenage boy with avenging his father s death, prompting questions about morality and righteousness. The Mayor of Casterbridge is a man s attempts to reconcile his shortcomings with what he feels is right. Tragically, in each of these works the search for justice, or the character s flawed understanding of it, is ultimately unsuccessful, resulting in injustice towards others. King Lear is defined by the figurehead monarch s quest for what he sees as justice for himself. After Goneril and Regan betray him by refusing to house his nights, King Lear calls upon the heavens avenge him and punish his daughters with a storm. O heavens, he implores, If you do love old men, if your sweet sway Show obedience, if you yourselves are old, Make it your cause. Send down, and take my part (2.4.217 220). These lines, uttered in the raw emotion of a man who feels wronged by those he loves, are representative of Lear s temper and distress when things don t go his way. His daughters perceived insult to him spurs a helpless call for justice from the gods, a justice Lear no longer can carry out because he has divested himself of power. Lear s inability to forcefully delve justice This hearkens back to his overhasty reaction towards Cordelia ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although, I know I am missing out, especially when we are trying to emulate some of Twyla Tharp techniques and influences. She is such an interesting choreographer. I never had heard of silent dances or thought about combining ballet, which is more traditional, with modern dance, yet I think it s quite genius. • 7. Early Fear Research Paper Fear triggering events can have long lasting and significant changes on the developing child, beginning with infancy. Research shows that very young infants can learn to fear people, certain places and events. Science has also proved that young children can sense a threat in their environment, but unlike adults they do not have the physical or cognitive ability to control their psychological response nor to remove themselves from a dangerous situation or to lessen the threat. Learned fear responses may disrupt the function of the stress response system. It could make it harder for the body to react to typical everyday stress. Normal situations and circumstances can cause outcomes that are harmful to a child s development when a fear is learned. Children do not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Learned fear and memories that occur early in a child s life get built into their brain structure and do not change with age. Persistent fear and unreasonable threats during children s developmental growth, may develop unhealthy patterns of fear, stress and anxiety. This fear and anxiety will not naturally disappear over time. Removing a child from a dangerous environment will not reverse the serious consequences or change the negative impacts of early fear learning, but there is no doubt that a child in harm s way should be removed from that situation. However, only moving a child out of danger does not reverse or change the way a fear has been learned. The child remembers the learned fear and anxiety. These memories and thoughts are sufficient to sustain ongoing fears and make a child anxious. Science demonstrates that these fears and anxieties requires active work and treatment. Children who have been traumatized need to be in safe and secure environment that can bring back their sense of predictability, control and safety. Interventions are needed to help children in these situations. It is crucial to note that communities need to work together to diminish the sources of fear ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Thesis Statement About Marriage NURUL ATIRAH BINTI ROSLI 43517 PROBLEM STATEMENT Marriage is a ritual that marks a change in status for a man and a woman and the acceptance by society of the new family that is formed (Rosman Rubel, 1981). Marriage, like other customs, is governed by rules (Rosman Rubel, 1981). Anthropology has represented marriage as the definitive ritual and universally translatable regulative ideal of human societies (BORNEMAN, 1996). Marriage also the act of joining two persons of opposite sex together to become as husband and wife. The Global Animation and Gaming Market is estimated to be worth $242.92 billion (as of 2016), and animated films are the most profitable of any film genre. This industry has widespread influence amongst all age groups, and the films produced can span any genre. The industry has seen major changes with the recent advances in computer generated animation techniques. To fully understand animation, it s important to see where it began. What is considered animation? That question is more loaded than many believe, as the definition of animation is still debated today. This allows for some controversy as to what is the first ever animation. Some believe that the cave painting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Disney released many feature length films during this time, including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Fantasia, and Dumbo. Warner Bros cartoons was founded in 1933, notably allowing their animators more freedom to develop different styles than other studios at the time. As disney started to make the shift into primarily focusing on feature length films, Warner Bros continued to focus on making shorts, such as the successful Looney Tunes series. The Golden Age started to rely more on voice actors to help bring these characters to life, and scores played by studio orchestras to complete the story. During this time, colored televisions became available to more and more Americans changing the ways they can receive their entertainment. In 1958 the Huckleberry Hound Show was the first half an hour television show to feature only animation. This eventually led to popular cartoons such as The Flintstones, being featured on primetime television. • 10. The Federalists And Democratic Republicans From 1789 to 1816, the Federalists and Democratic Republicans approached many problems differently, sometimes however, they had the same solutions to problems which were posed by England and the Native Americans. The Federalists and Democratic Republicans both had different and sometimes similar viewpoints on how to solve the problems they faced during this particular time period. Federalists supported a strong, huge government that had a loose constriction of the constitution. They also supported the National Bank, exercise tax. Also, they thought tariffs should be high, and they believed in an industrial world filled with huge businesses and mass production of goods. However, the Democratic Republicans wanted a more agrarian culture. They did not want a huge government, National bank, excise taxes, and they wanted the tariffs to be low. Some difficulties that the two parties faced were that the British created were impressments of sailors, assisting the Native Americans in war against the United States, and the Orders in Council of 1805. The Native Americans also generated problems for America because they resisted land expansion. Because of their standards and beliefs, this shows how the two parties faced these particular problems that were caused by Britain and the Native Americans. Therefore, the Federalists and Democratic Republicans solved problems differently, but sometimes they had the same idea to work together in order to effectively fix both of the parties ... The first story is called A Perfect Day for Bananafish and introduces a man who has been through the hell of World War II, which allows him to see things from a different perspective. The latter is called Teddy and revolves around a young, ingenious boy that seems to have a speculative mindset and very deep insight into life. In both stories the reader is introduced to a genius , but the geniuses, with all the potentials at hand, end up going mad and killing themselves. However, this proves to be Salinger s point. It demonstrates a fine line that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Seymour takes his own life, we backtrack to his story and he is then seen as a celestial figure, ahead of his time and full of wisdom. Metaphorically speaking, the bananafish ideology depicts humanity in the postwar boom generation, where riches surround all people. However, amidst all the possessions, we cannot help ourselves and we continuously and relentlessly consume, regardless of what may happen as a result. We are each trapped in our own banana filled hole, in which Seymour ultimately escapes from through his death. In the final short story Teddy , the main character is a ten year old boy who is as intuitive and intelligent as any character gets in this novel, with the exception of Seymour of course. Like Seymour Glass, Teddy sees the world differently than his peers. The two tend to focus their a lot of their attention on small details, such as orange peels, the colour of bathing suits, a woman that seemingly looks at Seymour s feet, and appear to mirror a larger scale vision of humanity. Teddy s orange peels recall Seymour s bananafish. Both their objects, in Seymour s case an imaginary one, are somewhat allegorical in a sense that they seem to suggest a philosophical portrayal of humanity. To clarify, Teddy first notices the orange peels floating and finds them interesting. The remnants of what was once a living fruit, now floating, lifeless on the dark water. Job Maintenance Or Knowledge Retention When talking to my Company Officer, Captain Polston, about the scenario where a division officer is asked to sign line items that have not been completed, she stated that it is a real problem that I will face in the fleet. According to Captain, in some units in the fleet, there is a culture where marking off task or line items is the norm. Especially when facilitated by the E 4 to E 6 level community, where items signed off without verifying that the subordinate retained the knowledge or completed the job. The reasoning behind speed signing line items is that somebody did it for me, so I m going to do it for someone else. A bro before joe atmosphere has developed in these units, where it is expected that items will be signed with minimal effort in job maintenance or knowledge retention. Captain stated that enlisted in these select units enlisted do not necessarily mean to harm anyone and are not all laxidasical, but rather have assimilated into a culture where this type of conduct is accepted. Therefore, Captain urged that we as divisional officers develop a motto of trust, but verify. It was discussed that sometimes, it is easy to want to trust your enlisted and even Chief when an inspection is coming around. However, we need to remember that we are ultimately responsible for the maintenance of our division and the knowledge/ readiness of our crew. The Consequences Of Due Care And Diligence In A Business Due care occurs when a company does not inform their workers what is expected of them, and the action that the company will take against them if their acts or illegal or unethical. Due diligence requires a business to continuously safeguard others (Whitman Mattord, 2014). Due diligence is the determination made by an ordinarily prudent or reasonable party to elude damage to an additional party, when there is no attempt to try, this is seen as more or less a level of negligent behavior, and agreements will frequently state that the seller must be responsible for due diligence (Freeman, 2007). Negligence is conduct which involves an unreasonably great risk of causing damage. Due care is conduct which does not involve such a risk. The essence of negligence is unreasonableness; due care is simply reasonable conduct. When due care consists in taking precautions against harm, only reasonable precautions need be taken, not every conceivable or possible precaution In certain cases skill or special knowledge is an element in due care; i. e., it is unreasonable for a person who has not competent knowledge or skill to do certain acts. The book Deviance and Social control by Michelle Inderbitzin, Kristin Bates and Randy Gainey, gives readers a greater outlook on the relationship between deviance and social control. When someone acts or behaves in a way that is different from what is considered as a norm or an accepted social standard, it is known as deviance. Objectively given conception of deviance is when everyone agrees to general set of norms; this means everyone agrees to a particular norm and conditions of society. The influence that Oedipus has on the characters of Lone Star causes the movie to become a modern interpretation of Sophocles infamous play. Although the two are different and remain unique in their own regards, there are several key aspects that unite the movie and play. Without the presence of boundaries, the issue of relationships and the influence of lies and secrets on the characters and outlying communities Lone Star would not have connection to Oedipus the King. An important theme to both Lone Star as well as Oedipus The King if that of boundaries. This can be viewed in both a geographical sense as well as a personal journey. Sam Deeds in Lone Star recently returned home to take up the post of his late father, the Sheriff of Rio County. The town, named Frontera, lies on the border of Texas and Mexico, causing border crossing to be an apparent theme in Sam s quest for justice. As Geoffrey W. Bakewell writes in his article Oedipus Tex: Lone Star, Tragedy and Postmodernism Boundaries are crucial: crossing them brings knowledge and exacts a price (39). Sam travels geographical borders in order to uncover the killer of Sheriff Charlie Wade as well as to find out more about the habits of Buddy, Sam s late father. • 36. Albert Camus Suffering In Albert Camus The Stranger, the novel centers around the life of Meursault, a French Algerian, who begins the novel attending his mother s funeral. Meursault does not express grief over his mother s death, and treats the day after the funeral as just another day with no nostalgia for what came before. As the novel progresses, Meursault continuously shows this lack of emotion and connection to others in his life, making him a stranger to not only the reader but other characters in the story. When Meursault befriends a neighbor of his, Raymond, and helps him with his cheating Arab girlfriend, he unknowingly gets sucked into a conflict that will affect the rest of his life. A victim of circumstance and choice, Meursault commits a murder, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Stranger acknowledges a different approach to life and reality, one with certainty and emphasis on the individual. In Melissa Payne s Discussion of the Absurd in Albert Camus Novels, Essays and Journals, she describes that Camus desires that man reads this novel and becomes disorientated and divorced from any reality of which he knows. He must recognize that reality means that life exists and death is approaching; Camus believes that these are the only truths, and abstractions no longer exist (Payne 15). In the novel, Meursault knows that his death is approaching in the form of his execution for the murder of the Arab. His crisis arises while questioning his past actions, an exercise out of character with his belief that life is only about present choices and the dawn of the next day. Meursault does not seek to absolve himself by turning to God or asking for forgiveness, but instead, accepts the life he has chosen, freed by the certainty that death was inevitable one way or ... • 37. Bewer Jar Lab Report The brewer jar has a high vacuum pump that evacuates oxygen that gets replaced with a 95% mixture of nitrogen and 5% carbon dioxide. There are platinum catalysts in the jar lid that binds residual oxygen with hydrogen which forms water. The second is the GasPak system. The disposable hydrogen and carbon dioxide envelope generator. The system requires it to be in room temperature catalyst that doesn t need electrical activation to be used. Hydrogen reacts with oxygen to help yield water. The last technique is the chromium sulfuric acid method. Hydrogen is generated in a desiccator jar that reacts with 15% of sulfuric acid with chromium powder. Hydrogen evolves and gets forced out of the desiccator jar and gets replaced with hydrogen. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first method is the pyrogallic acid technique in a solid medium. This technique uses streak cultures on nutrient agar slants. A person pushes a cotton plug into the tube until it almost touches the slant. The space above the cotton gets filled with pyrogallic acid crystals and put sodium hydroxide in there as well. Insert the stopper very tightly and then invert and incubate. The chemicals absorb the oxygen which produces an anaerobic environment. The second method is the shake culture method in a solid medium. This is a molten and cooled nutrient agar which is inoculated with a loopful of an organism. The tube gets shaken, cooled quickly, and then incubated. The position of growth in the tube makes it the index of gaseous requirements for an organism. The third method os the Paraffin plug technique in a broth medium. It is a medium that has reducing substances like cystein or ascorbic acid in it. This medium gets heated to make the oxygen go away then get quickly cooled and inoculated with a loopful of culture. After that it get immediately sealed with melted paraffin and then gets incubated. The last method is fluid thioglycollate in a broth medium. It is present in redox potential indicator like resazurin, which produces a pink color in an oxidized ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
