Reflection About Deaf Culture
At the age of 2, I lost my hearing in Pakistan from a disease called meningitis. When I was 4, my
family and I to came to America to explore hearing options. Before coming to America, I had no
formal communication, I couldn t speak or sign. My mom also wanted me to be a part of the
hearing culture because I needed to learn English and Urdu so I can communicate with family
members. My mom worked with our doctor and I received the cochlear implant. It was so I could
communicate in the hearing world and be able to talk and hear. After I got my surgery, I began
school and was isolated between hearing and deaf kids. My hearing loss was leaning towards the
deaf culturebut I wanted to stay with the hearing cultureand I did. In the deaf culture,... Show more

The Pakistani culture is heavily influenced by the religion. In our culture, we don t and are not
allowed to drink alcohol, but drinking alcohol is a custom in America. Many of the different
cultures and religions in the USA have celebrations and customs with alcohol. My family and I
haven t been enslaved from anyone to drink alcohol as other respect our culture as well. Muslim
Pakistani s avoid environments in which alcohol is served due to this restriction. However, when
one must be present where alcohol is served they do not order or drink alcohol but instead order
another beverage.
Another way that our culture differs with the American culture, is that in our culture females must
cover their entire body and hair. But in the American culture people don t wear as much clothing as
our culture does. Our culture and the American culture both have to compromise and accept each
other as it is part of the diverse American.
In Pakistani culture, people usually live in the same house for generations. This means that we
have neighbors that stay at the same house for generations as well. Because of this we become
very close and attached with our neighbors. We take care and help our neighbors like family. But
in America, people are constantly moving and although we know our neighbors we don t have the
same connection and don t get a chance to be as close. Unfortunately, we cannot stop people from
moving and must

Choosing The Forbes Travel Guide Star
This means that every month for the last 2 years, 6.2 new luxury hotel were built in the world.
Hotels where each guest may easily fancy himself as prince surrounded by a flock of courtiers
(Sherman, 2007, p. 26) are being required more and more every day. The World Luxury Index
(2014) revealed that the global consumer interest for the luxury hospitality industry grew 7.7% in
one year.
The numbers donВґt lie, the luxury hotels industry is growing fast. But, are they positioning
themselves correctly in the consumer s head? Are they targeting the right client segment? And what
are the triggers they use to attract their consumers?
To answer these questions, I chose two luxury hotels brands. I will evaluate and compare them
covering the brands personalities and positioning, and analyze what these brands do to motivate the
consumers in their purchase decision. The two brands chosen were The Ritz Carlton and the South
African Lodge Londolozi. These very different choices were made considering The Forbes Travel
Guide Star Awards definition of Luxury Hotel; it defines them as those that provide a memorable
experience through virtually flawless service and the finest of amenities. In these hotels, the staff is
perceptive, involved and passionate, willing to go that extra mile. They were both designed with
the guest s comfort in mind, investing special attention to quality.
Brands Personalities and Consumers

True Islam Has Been Hijacked
True Islam has been hijacked. The public image of the Muslim community, not only in America, but
globally, has been tainted by small groups of extremists. The extremists ideas stem from
conservative interpretations of the Quran, and are not as widely followed as most people assume.
Some examples from the Quran that extremists interpret differently than most often have to do with
the term disbelievers; Quran 48:29, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with
him are severe against disbelievers, and merciful among themselves. The disbelievers in this verse
refers to those who persecuted and attacked Muslims, this is not a verse guiding Muslims to be
unpleasant to non Muslims; although it is interpreted that way. It only... Show more content on

After the Golden Age, which is the age of the four rightfully guided caliphs, empires were
established. If Islam is likely to gain ground globally, he states that they must separate faith and
state. Mr. Hamid then goes on to state that this is unlikely to happen, because Sharia (Islam
canonical law) is tied so closely with the religion and state. The solution therefore, is stated that
Islam should follow Western pattern and separate faith and government. A partial reason that we
continue to see Islam struggling with separating their faith and government is, because some see
Islam as a political ideology and think it never was a religion since they never separated from the
government. Another is more simply because many Islamic states have tried numerous political
ideologies, such as: communism, secularism, democracy, tyranny, monarchy, and so on. Keeping
Islam s separation issues in mind, the first event to analyze is the Iranian Revolution, which led to
the hostage crisis. The Iranian Revolution was the result of persecuted Iranians who were tired of
the current dynastic governance. The Revolution was led by the Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah
Khomeini and overthrew Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, who was friendly with the United States.
The Revolution began in October, 1977 and lasted until January, 1979, when Iranbecame an Islamic
Republic. This is an important event in Westerners perceptions of

My Internship Experience At The South Central Family...
My internship experience at the South Central Family Health Center has been amazing. After this
week I will have completed one month at my internship and the knowledge and experience I ve
been able to gain has helped me develop tremendously, both professionally and personally. Among
the various things that I ve been able to do at the clinic include, assisting in the implementation of
the new patient portal (NEXTGEN), work on creating various projects with the IT department (e.g.,
helping prepare for the implementation of ICD 10), taking a lead in the planning of the clinic s
summer health festival, shadowing various physician, and assisting the prenatal department with
numerous administrative tasks. Indeed, I have had a lot on my plate this past few weeks, but the
exposure and information I ve been able learn about the current status of community health centers
in urban areas has been substantial and crucial in my development. With these new found
knowledge about the different careers possible within the health care industry and the duties and
responsibilities that accompany them, I have been able to expand on my options upon graduation
and simultaneously narrow them down to those that I find most intriguing.
Among the various occupations that intrigue me the most are those that encompass multiple roles
and have greater potential influence on the institution. Some of these occupations I ve been able to

Cultural Differences And Cultural Diversity
In this study, the data being gathered was analyzed. The data was taken from the survey tests from
81 participants. Since there were a total of 81, 47 were males representing roughly 58% of the
respondents, and the remaining over 40% were female. Those participants were drawn from various
ethnicities that would include Asian, Black American, White Caucasian, and American Indian.
According to Brunner (2005), he confirmed that subjects of any studies that would relate to cultural
differences and cultural diversitywould include those people who belonged to their ethnic origins
(p. 28). Consequently, those participants were equally drawn from different countries in the
world to participate in the study (p. 28). A majority of the respondents could speak English and
Arabic, which represented 74.39% and 75.61% of language proficiency respectively. It revealed
in the study that Korean was the least spoken language among respondents at 1.22%. In fact, the
age range that most participants fell under was between 18 and 24 years followed by 25 30 years,
which was amounting to 48.78% and 39.02% respectively.
Based on the study, when they were asked, which degree they wanted to complete at WMU, they
replied mostly to Bachelor s Degree. That was the choice for most participants representing 56.10%.
On the other hand, 1.22% of the participants did not choose any education programs offered at the
campus and opted for other specific reasons for their purpose in joining the institution.

having no trouble paying short term debt. However, the current and acid test (quick) ratios showed
that during 2003 Kudler had an excess amount of cash that they were not investing properly. These
ratios also showed that Kudler was collecting receivables and selling average inventory very
quickly. The profitability ratios revealed that during 2002 and 2003, Kudler was using assets

Lenders or suppliers would be interested in the liquidity ratio because the company s likelihood to
pay off short term debt is obvious. The profit of the company determines the potential impending
success and would be important to creditors and investors. The solvency ratios show if the
company will continue to grow and stockholders or financial analysts would be interested in these
ratios. Asset Turnover is the amount of sales or revenues produced per dollar of assets. The Asset
Turnover ratio is a gauge of the productivity in which a company is using its assets. The number
of times is calculated by the net sales divided by the average assets. Usually, the higher the ratio,
the better it is, since it implies the company is generating more revenues per dollar of assets (
Investopedia , 2014). The asset turnover ratio tends to be higher for companies in a sector like
consumer staples, which has a relatively small asset base but high sales volume. On the other
hand, companies in areas like utilities and broadcastings, which have large asset bases, will
have lower asset turnover. Kudler Fine Foods asset turnover ratio shows that from 2002 to 2003
there was not much of an increase. However, the percent does improve at a .3% increase from year
to year. A profit margin is a ratio of profitability calculated as net income divided by revenues, or
net profits divided by sales ( Investopedia , 2014). It measures how much out of every dollar of

Evolution Of Gender Roles In The 1920 s
Equality between men and women is more than a matter of social justice .gender roles is a way of
characterizing and labeling other in society. Gender roles include attitudes, actions, and personality
traits associated with a gender within that culture. Gender roles determines over all how men and
women should act, speak, dress, and think. Genderdefines masculine and feminine roles on society.
Social influence parents, teachers, peers, movies, television, music, books, and religion teach and

has been portrait to be a week woman in need of salvation. Fairy tales continue to imply women to
be dependent on men, like a princess on a prince. Princesses are put on hyper sexualized royal
attire, then again to reinforce the idea of the female role and their physical modifications to please
men. Little girls are given the idea of becoming a princess like Cinderella. They fantasize about
wearing a ball gown and being swept off their feet. Even the strongest female characters in the
role plays are most to be saved by a man with wealth and over power. Cinderella is setting a
standard for women and limiting female gender roles to full exploration of their femininity.
Typically the placement of the female role is perceived as being weaker, smaller and more
fragile. Culturally, they are set as being passive and domesticated, all oriented towards
submission and weakness. In the story Cinderella is slaved and abused by her step mother and
sisters. It is always a competition between the step sisters to be the most beautiful one for the

Cinderella was given and she was miserable. Looking for an escape her godmother beautifies her.

Ottoman Empire Women
The traditional status of women in the Ottoman Empire was not as oppressive as it was in
England and China, however majority of the drastic changes referring to the legal rights of women
took place after the fall of the Ottoman Empire following World War I. During the 16th and 17th
centuries, the Ottoman Empire was going through an era known as the Sultanate of Women.
During this period, women of the Imperial Harem demonstrated that they had mass political
influence when it came to governing the empire. The Harem were private quarters of the Sultan,
his wife, his children and his workers. Overall, there was a mass shift in gender during this time
period because wives and mothers began to give the Sultan political advice. For example, Nurbanu

It was the process of arranged marriages by fellow Christians or Jews. However, when the 19th
century began, Islamic Law required that the female give her consent to the marriage contract,
then go to the Muslim court that took her stance, thus preventing any unwanted or forced
marriage. This was a massive change because arranged marriages were a crucial part of traditional
customs, and Islamic Law gave women the opportunity to decide their own future. While this was
an improvement for Ottoman women, oppression continued to be present in society. Similar to
this situation would be that of women s rights in Japan. The rise of the Meiji Restoration in 1889
certainly lessened the influence of men in society. However, women were still oppressed and
denied of any legal rights. The Meiji Constitution completely ignores women s rights, and its sole
focus was of men in society. The Ottoman Empire fell after the end of World War I, and this is

Indian Removal
Indian Removal At the start of the Revolution in 1776 many of the patriots view towards the
Indians was that of Thomas Jefferson s, the paternalistic view. That the Indians were noble
savages, uncivilized in their present state but if they would adapt to ways of the white society
they could be redeemed. While others felt that they should be treated as conquered people
because some of the tribes helped the British in the War, one of which was the Mohawks. That
was one the main reason why most of the tribes choose to stay out of the war. At this point in
time the patriots felt that they were merely trying to provide for their families and start a new
life in the new world. But to the Indians they felt that the patriots were trying to push them off
their lands, threatening their families and their way of life. And over time these views towards
each other change with each push westward on the part of the patriots and each conflict of
resistance on the part of the Indians. As the new nation grew the need for more land became
evident, as a way of trying to bring resolve the government signed treaties with the tribes. The
treaties promised them protection of the lands they had held if they ceded certain lands. But when
it came right down to it treaty after treaty was broken, which lead to more and more distrust by the
Indians. As time passed the views of Indians changed, in the early 1800 s whites viewed Indians as
savages that should be removed from the valuable land that the

Analysis Of Carl Von Clausewitz s The Domino Theory
In On War, Carl Von Clausewitz stated, When whole communities go to war . . . the reason
always lies in some political situation, and the occasion is always due to some political object.
War, therefore, is an act of policy. Carl Von Clausewitz describes war as a true political instrument
carried out by other means. The United States policy on containment was an important motive in
analyzing their involvement in the civil war between North Korea and South Korea. President
Harry S. Truman was receiving increased domestic pressure not to appear soft on communism. The
United States chose to go to war in Korea to contain communism.
The Domino Theory was the idea that communism was an aggressive, expanding imperialism that
would spread from one country to the next and shaped United States policy on Asia during the Cold
War. The United States government used the Domino Theory to justify their support of a non
communist regime in South Korea against the communist government of North Korea. China
became a communist state in 1949 and President Truman feared the next domino would be Korea.
President Truman quantified, If we let Korea down, the Soviets will keep right on going and
swallow up one place after another.
In The Sources of Soviet Conduct, George F. Kennan explained Containment was the central post
war concept of the United States and its allies in dealing with the Soviet Union . To contain
communism, the United Stated strategy was to have a strong

Energy Is The Most Outstanding Ingredient For Socio...
Energy is the most outstanding ingredient for socio economic growth world wide. It exists in
various forms like mechanical, chemical, electrical, heat, light etc. There is minimum amount of
energy required for life sustainability. Most especially from the food we eat but fuel energy is
needed in cooking and in some climate, for heating houses. Research has shown that in 2008 for
instance, the world wide consumption rate of energywas estimated at 500 exajoules per year (EJ)
/y. The importance of an energy system is to secure energy service in the industrial, transport,
house hold and service sectors of the economy. Energy, invariably is the fulcrum of growth of
national economies. Fossil fuels are carriers of hydrocarbon substances. They include coal, crude
oil, and natural gas. Its consumption depletes at any rate. Typically, the looming energy crisis is
sequel to consuming these fossil fuels at a rate that is practically unsustainable. Besides, when
consumed, fossil fuels upset the natural balance of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, giving rise to
various environmental tipping point. Effects of this carbon dioxide natural imbalance has its long
term contribution to global warming and green house effect. Conversely, renewable energy
systems are resources available on cyclic basis and include solar, hydro, wind, tidal, wave,
geothermal and biodegradable biomass (fuelwood, animal and crop residues, energy crops etc).

Comparing The Israelites And The Puritans
The Puritans believe they are morally superior to everyone else. The Puritans are about to leave
England. They are Israelites is what they are. They are fleeing Egypt. Good Riddance! Next stop,
land of milk/honey(4). Vowell uses a simile to compare the Puritans to the Israelites in order to
reveal how the Puritans consider themselves. The Old Testament Israelites, references specifically
the Israelites that escaped from Egypt in the Book of Exodus. After the population of Jews in
Egypt had become so numerous the Pharaoh feared what they might be able to do and put them
into slavery. The Israelites eventually escaped Egypt by crossing the Red Sea and eventually make
it to land God had gifted them, the land of Canaan. The Puritans compare to the Israelites because
they too felt some religious persecution. Catholic rulers like Mary I persecuted Protestants and had
many executed. The Puritans also flee from a land not as pure as themselves in order to start anew.
Cotton himself tells the Puritans that they are God s chosen, and America is their Canaan. The
Israelites inspire the Puritans to get away. The Old Testament Israelites are to the Puritans what the
blueswas to the Rolling Stones a source of inspiration, a renewable resource of riffs(2). Vowell uses
an analogy to compare two unlike things like Puritans and the Rolling Stones. The blues is a genre
of music originating in the Deep South of the United States around the end of the 19th century. The

Examples Of Foolishness In Twelfth Night
Twelfth Night foolishness and weakness
Twelfth Night, written by William Shakespeare, is a comedy about love. Love can be things that
are not always what they seem and or it can be foolish and it can also be a weakness. Foolishness
and weaknesses are the most of what we see in the play, Twelfth Night, the audience sees that, yes
there is a tragedy but, that is not what the play revolves around. The audience sees that later on in
the play all the love that is being described is foolish as well as something a child would do. The
love that is being described can not happen for a certain reason and when the characters find out
that someone loves them and they were not just saying that they would do something for them, the
character just sort of accepts it and let fate intervene and take place. Everyone in the world has a

Is Henry James The turn of the Screw a traditional ghost story?
Ghost stories are found way back in history, some dating back to the
Victorian times. The Victorians were known to be greatly interested in ghosts and the supernatural
and showed this fascination through telling ghost stories.
The telling of ghost stories was used as a way of entertainment especially around Christmas time
and it was also very common for upper class Victorians to participate in seances where they would
try to make contact with the ghosts/spirits of their dead loved ones. However this was not the only

She describes the intruder to Mrs Grose, the house keeper, who identifies him as Peter
Quint, former valet to the children s uncle. Quint had been left in charge of the household and,
according to the housekeeper, had abused his position. The previous governess, Miss Jessel, had
been forced to leave her employment when her relationship with Quint was discovered by the
children s uncle, and had subsequently died. Quint was then killed in an accident. The horrified

The governess also witnessed many other visions of Quint and Miss
Jessel over a period of time, but the reader is left unaware of whether these apparitions are real
ghosts or just a figment of the governess imagination.
The story has both traditional and untraditional elements of a ghost story. The opening of the book
consists of a group of friends and aquantences gathered around a fire on Christmas eve which
straight away agrees with the traditional idea of telling ghost stories. James uses the technique of
setting a story within a story (Shakespeare is also known for setting a play within his plays e.g.

the delivery of the manuscript from London, creating a sense of tension and anticipation.

Aristophanes And Plato Compared To Socrates
Aristophanes describes him as a impatient and narrow mind thinker and he also not consider
Socrates as a teacher but just a normal thinker who tries to convey his ideologies in typical way.
Aristophanes pointed Socrates as evil person who just try to be a great thinker and wanted to give
their teachings to other. Aristophanesdescribes Socratesvery ironically and revealed many
controversial facts about him in his works.
But on the contrary Plato also describes Socrates in a very critical way and also portrayed as a
very disputable way but he also Characterize him as a philosopher who give lot of contributions
in the western philosophy.Plato consider his as a sophist because he was father of western
philosophy and propounded many theories and also gives many doctrines which also known as

not believe in God.
Socrates was stirred in so many controversies and had put to death by jury of five hundred
member just because he did not admit his faith in God when he was accused by his fellow. He
was sentenced to death by Athenian court just because he did not believe in the faith of God and
he was refuse to identify God. Poison was given to him to give him death.
These were the depictions which were critically characterized by the Aristophanes and Plato in

Male Dominance in a Midsummer s Night Dream
To what extent is Shakespeare trying portray male dominance over the female characters, in A
Midsummer s Night Dream. Almost in every play of Shakespeare we can see the dominance of
males over women. In his plays women have no right to say what they think or what they want.
They are always expected to be faithful to their fathers and husbands. They don t have any
freedom about their lives. However we know that this attitude of men against women in
Shakespeare s plays is a reflection of Renaissance society. We can see the most remarkable
examples of male dominance in A Midsummer Night s Dream. The play opens with a tragic event.

Women in this play see themselves as weak once they are married or once they have sworn their
love to a man. Hippolyta, the warrior Queen, seems deflated with the fact that Theseus has
captured her and wants to marry her. When Theseus proudly talks about how he had taken her
by war, and how he couldn t wait to get married, her only reply is that the days will pass by
quick, demonstrating a lack of enthusiasm. Throughout the play, she doesn t say much, and her
opinion or preference is also not asked for, despite the fact that she, in her own right, is of
extreme importance and influence. Helena is shown as a faithful lover, but her dedication is at
times, irritating. Helena chases Demetrius relentlessly, despite his cruel treatment of her. She
appears, not mad at Demetrius for leaving her; but rather she blames herself for not being
attractive enough. When Lysander and Demetrius turn their affection towards Helena, she begins
to think they are mocking her. This presents to the audience her lack of self esteem. And will
you rent our ancient love asunder, to join with men in scorning your poor friend? It is not
friendly, tis not maidenly: Our sex, as well as I, may chide you for it, though I alone do feel the
injury Hermia and Helena are best friends and Helena explains their relationship as having two

Obama Care Health Crisis
There have been many deaths going on around the United States and it has been caused by
people s health. Your health should be the main thing you are concerned about so if you haven t
already, you should go for a checkup. In 1980 healthcare expenditures were $256 billion,
according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. We become so involved in buying
fast foods when it is not good for the health. A serious illness can lead to financial ruin if you do
not have insurance. For those who do not have insurance can get Obamacare. It is the same as
Medicaid or Medicare but it is a great insurance program.

in the U.S. is publicly funded by Fed, State, and county floor governments through various
entitlement programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and the Veterans Administration (VA). The
result is a compartmentalized and fragmented system. This is also true in the buck private health

Captcha as Graphical Passwords A New Security
Primitive Based on Hard AI Problems
Abstract User authentication has become one of the important topics in information security.
Many graphical password schemes have been proposed, which are used to improve password
usability and security. In this paper, we present a new approach to solve the hard AI problems,
namely, graphical passwords are combined with Captcha technique, which will be referred them as
Captcha as graphical password otherwise we call it as CaRP. CaRP solves security problems such
as online dictionary attacks, relay attacks and shoulder surfing attacks combined with dual view
technologies. Captcha as graphical passwords also offers an efficient approach to address the well
known image hotspot problem in popular graphical password systems, such as Pass Points. CaRP
also offers primitive scheme to provide reasonable and usability security to improve online security.
Keywords Password, Captcha, CaRP, Graphical password, PassPoints, dictonary attack, relay attack,

Segregation and the Civil Rights Movement Essay
Protest against injustice is deeply rooted in the African American experience. The origins of the
civil rights movement date much further back than the 1954 Supreme Court ruling on Brown v.
Board of Education of Topeka which said, separate but equal schools violated the Constitution.
From the earliest slave revolts in this country over 400 years ago, African Americans strove to
gain full participation in every aspect of political, economic and social life in the United States.
Segregation was an attempt by white Southerners to separate the races in every sphere of life and
to achieve supremacy over blacks. Segregation was often called the Jim Crow system, after a

One of the cases against segregated rail travel was Plessy v. Ferguson (1896), in which the
Supreme Court of the United States ruled that separate but equal accommodations were
constitutional. However, in 1952, the Supreme Court heard a number of school segregation
cases, including Brown v. Board of Topeka, Kansas. It decided unanimously in 1954 that
segregation was unconstitutional, overthrowing the 1869 Plessy v. Ferguson ruling that had set
the separate but equal precedent. As desegregation progresses, the membership of the Ku Klux
Klan (KKK) grew. The KKK used violence or threats against anyone who was suspected of
favoring desegregation or black civil rights. Klan terror, including intimidation and murder, was
widespread in the South in the 1950s and 1960s, though Klan activities were not always reported
in the media. One terrorist act that did receive national attention was the murder of Emmit Till, 14
year old black boy slain in Mississippi by whites who believed he had flirted with a white woman.
The trial and acquittal of the men accuse of Till s murder were covered in the national media,
demonstrating the continuing racial bigotry of Southern whites. To protest segregation, blacks
created new national organizations. The National Afro American League was formed in 1890; the
Niagra Movement in 1905; and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
(NAACP) in 1909. In 1910,

The Day That Changed My Life And Love Of Volleyball
Sunday February 28th, 2015. I remember that date, as if it happened yesterday. That was the day
that changed my life and love of volleyball. This was the day I got severely injured during a
volleyball tournament. The day had started and gone by painfully slow. Wherever I walked
throughout North High School hallways you noticed volleyball bags, blankets, coolers, food and
wrappers all stuffed into a small corner that a team redeemed as their spot. When I walked back
into the muggy hot gym, I could smell the knee pads, ankle braces, and sweat from all the girls
playing. Along with the sound of whistles from referees and the agonizing squeaking sound of the
shoes moving against the gym floors. My team and I made our way to an empty... Show more

They easily passed that ball and they tried to run a fast offense and do a quick set, (a set (usually

Pros And Cons Of An Unwritten Constitution Of The UK
In order to ascertain if the United Kingdom ( UK ) has an uncontrolled constitution as the Attorney
General states in the case of Jackson v the Attorney General 2005, the concept of what a constitution
is needs first to be considered. Thomas Paine thus put a constitution is not the act of a government,
but of people constituting a government, and a government without a constitutionis a power without
right . A constitution can be split into categories such as, an unwritten constitution and a written
constitution, otherwise known as codified and uncodified. An unwritten constitution is where there

Juxtaposition In Hamlet s Soliloquy
William Shakespeare s Hamlet concerns a young boy, Hamlet, who s father, the king of Denmark,
has been killed by his power thirsty uncle who has now taken over the throne. Hamlet struggles with
the idea of revenge throughout the entire play, knowing he must kill his uncle to avenge his father,
while simultaneously failing to take action with every opportunity that presents itself. Throughout
Hamlet s soliloquy, To Be or Not To Be , Shakespeare avoids personal pronouns, while also using
generalized diction and ambiguous, philosophical language in order to further his dismissal of his
own situation, showing, rather, his contemplation of life and death as a whole. The beginning of

Hamlet bases the end of his soliloquy off of the idea, conscience does make cowards of us all
(3.1.91). In the contemplation of this idea, he transitions into a more philosophical and ambiguous
tone, discussing the implications of questioning life versus death. Hamlet continues to say, thus the
native hue of resolution Is sicklied o er with the pale cast of thought (3.1.92 3), stating that too much
contemplation misguides our actions and therefore causes us to neglect them. In this instance,
Hamlet is diving further into the issue he is discussing rather than the situation. He turns his
contemplation of whether or not he should kill himself into one surrounding the extent and
limitations of human thought. He begins to discuss existence in general, rather than this idea in the
context of his life or everyone s lives. Hamlet s soliloquy, which is intended to be solely a
representation of his own thoughts, is no longer general such that it seems to describe the situations
of others, but it goes further as to contemplate the nature of thought in

One of the main steps to this is; management. Thus, I shall begin by defining and explaining what

Management according to Management Innovations, 2008, is the process of reaching

MANAGEMENT PHILOSOPHIES; these are different strategies that leaders choose to use to lead
their group, so that they would be motivated to work and how each employee should be treated. The
main function of management philosophy is to make the decision making process fast and
efficient. (Management Philosophy, Business Dictionary, 2015)
A couple of management philosophies are classical management, behavioral management,
quantitative, systems, contingency and quality.
I will talk about 2 management theories and also about their advantages and disadvantages (pros
and cons).
1)BEHAVIOURAL APPROACH;
This is also known as human relation movement. In this type of school, the theorists believe that
they should try to understand the different factors that may influence the human behavior of an
employee at work. (School of thought management, 2011)
There are some theorists who have investigated onto this theory. one of them is; Elton Mayo; he
believed that workers were not just motivated by they pay they get, but would be more motivated if
their social needs are satisfied alongside working. He concluded by saying that employees work
better in groups, and they are motivated by the good available communication between themselves
and their managers. (Behavioral Management, Cliff Notes, 2015)
Advantages;
a)Work satisfaction; it will motivate them to work hard and will be satisfied since they will be
getting benefits alongside the pay.

Effective Communication Among Group And Team Functioning
Communication is the sharing of ideas, thoughts and information between or among individuals.
The way we communicate varies greatly among cultures throughout the world and has an extremely
powerful impact within group and team environments. Effective communication enables us to
engage in enriching social interaction with others, and allows for the creation of environments
where group and team functioning can flourish. As simple as communicationmay seem, much of
what we express to others has the tendency of getting misunderstood, therefore acquiring a skilled
set of communication skills is crucial to the overall success of a team and group. Effective
communication is more than simply sharing information. It is important to understand the true
meaning and emotion behind the expressed information, and this can often become quite difficult
when the subjectivity and complexity of nonverbal cues gets thrown into the mix. Throughout this
paper, the meaning of communication and its application to group and team functioning will be
explored, as well as the powerful impact it has in the health care setting. Effective communication
amongst members of the health care team promotes teamwork and possessing an experienced and
competent set of communication skills as a nurse is absolutely critical in providing safe,
therapeutic and reliable care to patients. Similarities and Differences Between Groups and

down. His two former students were later men of great influence and were able to help Jones with
obtaining many different types of jobs with various positions, and he was paid well. The first man
to really make an impact in the calculation of pi was the Greek, Archimedes of Syracuse. Where
two people by then name of Antiphon and Bryson left off with their inscribed and circumscribed
polygons, Archimedes took up the challenge. However, he used a slightly different method than
they used. Archimedes focused on the polygons perimeters as opposed to their areas, so that he
approximated the circle s circumference instead of the area. He started with an inscribed and a
circumscribed hexagon then doubled the sides four times to finish with two 96 sided polygons.
Archimedes approximated the area of a circle by using the Pythagorean Theorem to find the areas
of two regular polygons: the polygon inscribed within the circle and the polygon within which the
circle was circumscribed. Since the actual area of the circle lies between the areas of the inscribed
and circumscribed polygons, the areas of the polygons gave upper and lower

class as closely intertwined with the corporate community. He begins by explaining why it is
important to know this, and provides statistics that seem to show how the upper class attempts to
influence corporations. Domhoff states that from grade school to grad school, upper class children
are trained to excel in the corporate level, giving them an advantage in obtaining the highest

As stated before, social clubs and boarding school are very similar due to the fact that they are able
to meet new people that are in the same social status. Domhoff emphasizes this importance because
it is the only things left that people of this upper class is able to retreat to in order to share their
ideas and thoughts. This is shown in a study,
Two separate studies demonstrate the way in which this one club intertwines the upper class wit
the entire corporate community. In 1970, according to the first study, 29% of the top 800
corporations had at least one officer or director at the Bohemian Grove festivities: in 1980 the
figure was 30%.(58)
This figure shows that Domhoff is correct in showing a large number of important corporate
individuals attending this event together. Although one may think that it is possible that many
corporate leaders go to this festival, because it may be hosted by a well known person. In fact, in
order to join the festivities you must be a member of the club. Although the club is very wide
known among the upper class, it is also a very exclusive one. The only middle class individuals,
who are members, are persons who exchange the membership by entertaining its guests. Other than
that a person can only join if you get invited by another member, but can be revoked if other
members are against it.

Quote: Satsuki thanks Urara for gifting her with a new thermos and a variety of tea packets, saying,
You ve made me as happy as a lover (129).
Explication: In Kitchen, the gift of food is a symbol of love from one character to another. After
Eriko s death, Mikage plans and prepares a grand professional dinner of all of Yuichi s favorite
foods to comfort him (54). The cooking atmosphere builds a warm, safe place for just the two of
[them] (62). Yoshimoto illustrates the healing quality of food to console an aching character during
times of difficulty and grief. The gift of food acts to mend a broken heart in a demonstration of
love, conveying the theme of affection taking many forms.
Motif 2: Company of the Kitchen
Quote: Mikage finds herself thunderstruck at the death of her last remaining blood relative and

The Leading Fuel Ethanol From The United States
POET LLC is one of the leading fuel ethanol producers in the United States, operating twenty
seven corn to ethanol plants and one of only three corn stover to ethanol plants in the United
States. The success of the company has come from capitalizing on government policy. This
policy under the EPA s renewable fuel standard provides incentives in the market place. Due to
this incentive along with process innovation POET has grown into an industry leader. The
company has a wide range of intellectual property and is constantly pushing its employees to
come up with new ideas and processes. As an Associate Research Scientist, I am able to
collaborate on new ideas first hand. I see many new ideas come through the pipeline every day.
Once an idea is developed it is subjected to scrutiny, it must survive benchtop experiments,
economic modeling, and ultimately a run through at a research plant. Ultimately then trials are
done at one of the twenty six plants that POET manages. This whole process can be stopped at any
time if an experiment fails, the economics do not make sense, or if managers decide other ideas get
priority of resources. I see firsthand that employees of POET are expected to maintain
confidentiality when it comes to intellectual property. All full and part time employees are expected
to sign non disclosure, confidentiality and non compete agreements upon hiring. POET requires
employees to have a training session about their intellectual property within the first

Horse Slaughter Essay

Environment of BusinessDr. Anthony GorospeDue Date April 8, 2012 | | |
History of Horse Meat Consumption The ancient Botai culture in Kazakhstan first domesticated
horses 5,500 years ago, and its economy was equine based. Horses were used for labor,
transportation, milk, and consumption. Even at that early time, if the horses did not succumb to
the rigors of daily life, work related injuries, or battle, then they were sold for salvage. The money
received from the salvage was reinvested in a younger, stronger horse. The salvaged horse would go
to the rendering plant for leather, horsehair furniture, glue, gelatin, cosmetics, or to the butcher ...

The closing of the last plant in the USA in 2007 caused thousands of horses to be sent to Mexico
and Canada. The US Senate has passed a resolution and is urging the House of Representatives to
offer incentives to open horse processing plants in the United States. Senators say it is cruel to
force old or lame horses to wait for natural death.
Former Missouri State Senator Matt Bartle, a Republican, stated, The unintended consequences
have been disastrous for horses. We now have horses all over the state that are skin and bones that
are suffering tremendously. Some people actually enjoy the taste of horse meat. It feeds dogs. It
feeds other animals.
Former Missouri State Senator Frank Barnitz, a Democrat, stated People need to realize that horses
are not pets; horses are livestock.
The Argument for Horse Slaughterhouses I am the daughter of a livestock dealer. My father
was an amazing wrangler and rancher. Throughout my life, we have bought and sold many
horses too many to count, and I have also sent my own fair share to the slaughter plants. As a
young teen I had a horse we called Whino, he was a great horse for me when I was learning to ride
and wanting to follow Dad around. There comes a time in a horse s life when they are not
capable of doing what they once were or that they become sore or crippled to lead a life with
meaning or comfort. I was raised to understand life and death and that one will follow the other. I

Understand our family heritage gives one a sense of pride. History teaches us about our
language and our roots. Knowing the history of your family can help prove a sense of identity
because getting to know yourself gives you the opportunity to understand new things about
culture. This will result in you realize who you really are. Learning the history of your people
will form a connection to certain customs, values, and beliefs. I have learned many stories of my
family history from just talking to the elderly within my family. Stories about their trials and
tribulation of those previous generations show me how far we came overall. I have passed on
those same stories along to the generation under me and emphasized how important it is for them to
do the same. Understand your culture will open your mind to learning to respect others cultures as
well.
In conclusion, know your past has a lot to do with your present and future. All things that are

I Am My Name Is Shylee Baertich Essay
There comes a point in time when the best choice isit to just grow up. After all, eEverything
grows. People grow, and plants grow, and our knowledge grows. Tas well as theories grow and
the population grow and the dependency we have on the world we surly embody grows. Hello, I
am my name is Shylee Baertich, a proud FFA member whose homeuse is surrounded by nothing,
but acres and acres of crops. Which indeed, grow. So, I ve always been surrounded by everything
agricultureand yet, I have noticed when going to the city, skylscrapers growning out of the urban
concrete fields. also growing with something new: the trendy greenhouses growing vertically
skyscrapers. I ve also heard the bickering about our limited amount and potential use of the land,
and as an FFA members we have been taught that by weyou already know that by 2050
agriculturist will need to produce enough food to feed 9.7 billion people (www.fao.org). Our
population is only ever growing and it seems like our land acres continues tois shrinking.
However, as agriculturist yearn for innovative tactics they ve have realized that the best choice it
to just grow up.So perhaps our best choice as innovative agriculturalist is to just grow up. In 2014,
Dickson Despommier, had an idea that would forever change the way we will envision farminged.
Instead of traditionally farming horizontally, plants would rather be stacked upon one another in a
vertical form and do what plants do best...grow up! (www.verticalfarms.com)

M A is useful especially when the management of target firm is not so successful. After acquisition
new management can increase value of the target firm by well managing, decreasing costs and
increasing efficiency.
The last one is about synergy. When two firms are combined, an extra value for occurs for the
companies apart from the summation of their standalone entity. It refers to synergy.
From society s point of view synergy is the most justifiable motive. Shared know how, intangible
resources (generally human resources, corporate culture, business creation etc.), more efficiently
used physical resources, economies of scale, reduced costs lead more successful business. They are
advantages for different stakeholder parties within the company as well. Also it increases
competitiveness in the industry. It turns into offering best efforts for the wellbeing of customers. It
can be seen as an equation, which gives more than its numerical total: one plus one is more than
two for every one.
Another socially justifiable motive is control. Changing the control of the firm will increase
shareholders wealth (that is the ultimate goal in business) and thus it increases benefits of
shareholders. After M A most of the companies are managed and controlled more successfully than

Emphasizing The True Meaning Of Poems By Andrew Marvell...
Kinsey Jordan
Mrs. Russler
English Honors I
February 4, 2015
Emphasizing the True Meaning of Poems Around the seventeenth century the poets Andrew
Marvell and John Donne expressed their feelings through poetry. Both John Donne, born in 1572
and Andrew Marvell, born in 1621 in England, are known for their ideas of metaphysical poetry.
Metaphysical poetry is a persuasive poem that uses a conceit. It focuses on imagery, paradoxes,
arguments, philosophy and religion. Andrew Marvell s To His Coy Mistress and John Donne s A
Valediction: Forbidding Mourning, focus on the theme of love, which was trending at that time.
Although both poems justify the importance and essence of love, the tone differs in each poem
making them distant from each other. The figurative language also makes the two poems different.
However, they both focus on the idea of Carpe Diem, enjoying the moment and not worrying about
the future. Through comparing these poems, the differences and similarities result in the true
understanding and effectiveness of the poems. In To His Coy Mistress, Andrew Marvell does not
perceive true, fervent love, but rather that time and beauty will not last. The tone of this poem is
sad, but the author seems to make it happier. There is an example shown in the first stanza;
Had we but world enough and time...we would sit down, and think which way to walk, and pass
our long love s day. (1 4) Marvell appears to be straying from the idea of Carpe Diem; stating that if

  • 2. Reflection About Deaf Culture At the age of 2, I lost my hearing in Pakistan from a disease called meningitis. When I was 4, my family and I to came to America to explore hearing options. Before coming to America, I had no formal communication, I couldn t speak or sign. My mom also wanted me to be a part of the hearing culture because I needed to learn English and Urdu so I can communicate with family members. My mom worked with our doctor and I received the cochlear implant. It was so I could communicate in the hearing world and be able to talk and hear. After I got my surgery, I began school and was isolated between hearing and deaf kids. My hearing loss was leaning towards the deaf culturebut I wanted to stay with the hearing cultureand I did. In our culture, we don t and are not allowed to drink alcohol, but drinking alcohol is a custom in America. Many of the different cultures and religions in the USA have celebrations and customs with alcohol. My family and I haven t been enslaved from anyone to drink alcohol as other respect our culture as well. Muslim Pakistani s avoid environments in which alcohol is served due to this restriction. However, when one must be present where alcohol is served they do not order or drink alcohol but instead order another beverage. Another way that our culture differs with the American culture, is that in our culture females must cover their entire body and hair. But in the American culture people don t wear as much clothing as our culture does. Our culture and the American culture both have to compromise and accept each other as it is part of the diverse American. In Pakistani culture, people usually live in the same house for generations. This means that we have neighbors that stay at the same house for generations as well. Because of this we become very close and attached with our neighbors. We take care and help our neighbors like family. But in America, people are constantly moving and although we know our neighbors we don t have the same connection and don t get a chance to be as close. • 3. Choosing The Forbes Travel Guide Star This means that every month for the last 2 years, 6.2 new luxury hotel were built in the world. Hotels where each guest may easily fancy himself as prince surrounded by a flock of courtiers (Sherman, 2007, p. 26) are being required more and more every day. The World Luxury Index (2014) revealed that the global consumer interest for the luxury hospitality industry grew 7.7% in one year. The numbers donВґt lie, the luxury hotels industry is growing fast. But, are they positioning themselves correctly in the consumer s head? Are they targeting the right client segment? And what are the triggers they use to attract their consumers? To answer these questions, I chose two luxury hotels brands. I will evaluate and compare them covering the brands personalities and positioning, and analyze what these brands do to motivate the consumers in their purchase decision. The two brands chosen were The Ritz Carlton and the South African Lodge Londolozi. These very different choices were made considering The Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards definition of Luxury Hotel; it defines them as those that provide a memorable experience through virtually flawless service and the finest of amenities. In these hotels, the staff is perceptive, involved and passionate, willing to go that extra mile. They were both designed with the guest s comfort in mind, investing special attention to quality. • 4. True Islam Has Been Hijacked True Islam has been hijacked. The public image of the Muslim community, not only in America, but globally, has been tainted by small groups of extremists. The extremists ideas stem from conservative interpretations of the Quran, and are not as widely followed as most people assume. Some examples from the Quran that extremists interpret differently than most often have to do with the term disbelievers; Quran 48:29, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him are severe against disbelievers, and merciful among themselves. The disbelievers in this verse refers to those who persecuted and attacked Muslims, this is not a verse guiding Muslims to be unpleasant to non Muslims; although it is interpreted that way. If Islam is likely to gain ground globally, he states that they must separate faith and state. Mr. Hamid then goes on to state that this is unlikely to happen, because Sharia (Islam canonical law) is tied so closely with the religion and state. The solution therefore, is stated that Islam should follow Western pattern and separate faith and government. A partial reason that we continue to see Islam struggling with separating their faith and government is, because some see Islam as a political ideology and think it never was a religion since they never separated from the government. Another is more simply because many Islamic states have tried numerous political ideologies, such as: communism, secularism, democracy, tyranny, monarchy, and so on. Keeping Islam s separation issues in mind, the first event to analyze is the Iranian Revolution, which led to the hostage crisis. The Iranian Revolution was the result of persecuted Iranians who were tired of the current dynastic governance. The Revolution was led by the Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and overthrew Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, who was friendly with the United States. The Revolution began in October, 1977 and lasted until January, 1979, when Iranbecame an Islamic Republic. This is an important event in Westerners perceptions of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While others felt that they should be treated as conquered people because some of the tribes helped the British in the War, one of which was the Mohawks. That was one the main reason why most of the tribes choose to stay out of the war. At this point in time the patriots felt that they were merely trying to provide for their families and start a new life in the new world. Analysis Of Carl Von Clausewitz s The Domino Theory In On War, Carl Von Clausewitz stated, When whole communities go to war . . . the reason always lies in some political situation, and the occasion is always due to some political object. War, therefore, is an act of policy. Carl Von Clausewitz describes war as a true political instrument carried out by other means. The United States policy on containment was an important motive in analyzing their involvement in the civil war between North Korea and South Korea. President Harry S. Truman was receiving increased domestic pressure not to appear soft on communism. The United States chose to go to war in Korea to contain communism. The Domino Theory was the idea that communism was an aggressive, expanding imperialism that would spread from one country to the next and shaped United States policy on Asia during the Cold War. The United States government used the Domino Theory to justify their support of a non communist regime in South Korea against the communist government of North Korea. China became a communist state in 1949 and President Truman feared the next domino would be Korea. President Truman quantified, If we let Korea down, the Soviets will keep right on going and swallow up one place after another. In The Sources of Soviet Conduct, George F. They are fleeing Egypt. Good Riddance! Next stop, land of milk/honey(4). Vowell uses a simile to compare the Puritans to the Israelites in order to reveal how the Puritans consider themselves. The Old Testament Israelites, references specifically the Israelites that escaped from Egypt in the Book of Exodus. After the population of Jews in Egypt had become so numerous the Pharaoh feared what they might be able to do and put them into slavery. The Israelites eventually escaped Egypt by crossing the Red Sea and eventually make it to land God had gifted them, the land of Canaan. The Puritans compare to the Israelites because they too felt some religious persecution. Catholic rulers like Mary I persecuted Protestants and had many executed. The Puritans also flee from a land not as pure as themselves in order to start anew. Cotton himself tells the Puritans that they are God s chosen, and America is their Canaan. The Israelites inspire the Puritans to get away. The Old Testament Israelites are to the Puritans what the blueswas to the Rolling Stones a source of inspiration, a renewable resource of riffs(2). Ghost stories are found way back in history, some dating back to the Victorian times. The Victorians were known to be greatly interested in ghosts and the supernatural and showed this fascination through telling ghost stories. The telling of ghost stories was used as a way of entertainment especially around Christmas time and it was also very common for upper class Victorians to participate in seances where they would try to make contact with the ghosts/spirits of their dead loved ones. Quint had been left in charge of the household and, according to the housekeeper, had abused his position. The origins of the civil rights movement date much further back than the 1954 Supreme Court ruling on Brown v. From the earliest slave revolts in this country over 400 years ago, African Americans strove to gain full participation in every aspect of political, economic and social life in the United States. Segregation was an attempt by white Southerners to separate the races in every sphere of life and to achieve supremacy over blacks. It decided unanimously in 1954 that segregation was unconstitutional, overthrowing the 1869 Plessy v. Ferguson ruling that had set the separate but equal precedent. As desegregation progresses, the membership of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) grew. The KKK used violence or threats against anyone who was suspected of favoring desegregation or black civil rights. As simple as communicationmay seem, much of what we express to others has the tendency of getting misunderstood, therefore acquiring a skilled set of communication skills is crucial to the overall success of a team and group. It is important to understand the true meaning and emotion behind the expressed information, and this can often become quite difficult when the subjectivity and complexity of nonverbal cues gets thrown into the mix. His two former students were later men of great influence and were able to help Jones with obtaining many different types of jobs with various positions, and he was paid well. The first man to really make an impact in the calculation of pi was the Greek, Archimedes of Syracuse. Where two people by then name of Antiphon and Bryson left off with their inscribed and circumscribed polygons, Archimedes took up the challenge. However, he used a slightly different method than they used. Archimedes focused on the polygons perimeters as opposed to their areas, so that he approximated the circle s circumference instead of the area. He started with an inscribed and a circumscribed hexagon then doubled the sides four times to finish with two 96 sided polygons. Archimedes approximated the area of a circle by using the Pythagorean Theorem to find the areas of two regular polygons: the polygon inscribed within the circle and the polygon within which the circle was circumscribed. Since the actual area of the circle lies between the areas of the inscribed and circumscribed polygons, the areas of the polygons gave upper and lower ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

William Domhoff explains in his book, Who Rules America? , there is an upper class that is much more than that. Domhoff describes the upper class as closely intertwined with the corporate community. He begins by explaining why it is important to know this, and provides statistics that seem to show how the upper class attempts to influence corporations. Domhoff states that from grade school to grad school, upper class children are trained to excel in the corporate level, giving them an advantage in obtaining the highest positions in the corporate world. This is shown in a study, Two separate studies demonstrate the way in which this one club intertwines the upper class wit the entire corporate community. In 1970, according to the first study, 29% of the top 800 corporations had at least one officer or director at the Bohemian Grove festivities: in 1980 the figure was 30%.(58) This figure shows that Domhoff is correct in showing a large number of important corporate individuals attending this event together. Although one may think that it is possible that many corporate leaders go to this festival, because it may be hosted by a well known person. In fact, in order to join the festivities you must be a member of the club. Although the club is very wide known among the upper class, it is also a very exclusive one. The only middle class individuals, who are members, are persons who exchange the membership by entertaining its guests. Ultimately then trials are done at one of the twenty six plants that POET manages. This whole process can be stopped at any time if an experiment fails, the economics do not make sense, or if managers decide other ideas get priority of resources. • 49. Emphasizing The True Meaning Of Poems By Andrew Marvell... Kinsey Jordan Mrs. Russler English Honors I February 4, 2015 Emphasizing the True Meaning of Poems Around the seventeenth century the poets Andrew Marvell and John Donne expressed their feelings through poetry. Both John Donne, born in 1572 and Andrew Marvell, born in 1621 in England, are known for their ideas of metaphysical poetry. Metaphysical poetry is a persuasive poem that uses a conceit. It focuses on imagery, paradoxes, arguments, philosophy and religion. Andrew Marvell s To His Coy Mistress and John Donne s A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning, focus on the theme of love, which was trending at that time. Although both poems justify the importance and essence of love, the tone differs in each poem making them distant from each other. The figurative language also makes the two poems different. However, they both focus on the idea of Carpe Diem, enjoying the moment and not worrying about the future. Through comparing these poems, the differences and similarities result in the true understanding and effectiveness of the poems. In To His Coy Mistress, Andrew Marvell does not perceive true, fervent love, but rather that time and beauty will not last. The tone of this poem is sad, but the author seems to make it happier. There is an example shown in the first stanza; Had we but world enough and time...we would sit down, and think which way to walk, and pass our long love s day. (1 4) Marvell appears to be straying from the idea of Carpe Diem; stating that if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
