INSURTECH REVIEW
As the #sthlmfintech is approaching we decided to perform the first review on
the Nordic Insurtech landscape.
As Insurtech companies don’t usually have their own sub-category yet, they are
difficult to find. We have worked with partners in different Nordic countries, used
all possible search engines, asked both Academics and representatives of the
Accelerators, but we didn’t ask you! They say that nobody is as smart as all of us.
Please let us know if there are any Insurtech companies missing - sending us an
email to research@innobridge.tech by February 7th 3 pm.
What companies might be included?
- The HQ of the Insurtech company has to be incorporated in one of the Nordic
countries - (or be in the incorporation stage).
- Services provided to the customers have to include one of the subcategories
listed below.
- Companies which serve different types of customer (like comparison websites)
but have a dedicated technology, service or solution for insurance companies are
being included.
Clarification (following type of companies are not to be included):
- Traditional Insurance Providers.
- Companies included on any blacklists of the Swedish Pension Agency (or similar
agencies in the Nordics).
- Companies which have not been incorporated as well as foundations.
- Providers which serve the Nordic customers but are not incorporated in the Nor-
dics.
- Companies which provide pure hardware (machines) or software (like AI chat-
bots) which are not dedicated to insurance companies.

Itello - a Swedish Insurtech company and the market leader of a Policy Adminis-
tration System and digital solutions for the Nordic life- and pension industry. Itello
offers software and solutions that are sustainable with the objective of automating
and digitizing various business processes as well as enabling innovative business
development for all our customers. Itello understands the industry’s present chal-
lenges and is constantly aiming to ensure that trends, opportunities and demands
will benefit our customers early on.
STHLM Fintech Week - is a community-driven Fintech conference based in Stock-
holm launched for the first in February 2019. For the entire week, more than 200
participants have the possibility to engage into the discussion with experts from
industry, academia, politics and representatives of ‘business environment institu-
tions’ to foster new connection and develop the Nordic ecosystem. The theme of
2019, focuses on the collaboration efficiency between representatives of Startups
and Market Leaders. The conference is divided for ten different tracks focusing on
a sub-segment of Fintech and a half of the day.

What is INSURTECH?
InsurTechs, that refers to the use of technology innovations and digitalised pro-
cesses to generate new business opportunities, increase quality, savings and
efficiency at various value-added steps in the insurance industry model.
The eight sub-categories of Insurtechs have been clustered in the following way.
