3. This is Arthur Kipps, when
he was young he worked in
London and was a lawyer.
fourteen years ago, a house
called Monk piece was
bought and lived there with
his wife, Esme.
4. It was Christmas Eve.`Wake
up, Father! 'Someone calls.
`We're going to tell ghost
stories !.
5. `Tell us a ghost story, Father! 'Someone shouted. `You must
know a story! 'Then he began to tremble and said `No, no! 'I
shouted. `I have no story to tell !.
It went very fast from the room and the garden was very scared
but remembered a terrible story.
7. Arthur's story begins in
November, when he was a young
man of twenty years he worked
for the a lawyer Mr. Bentley.
Mr. Bentley called me into his
office, `Sit down, Arthur said Mr.
Bentley. He pointed to a
document on your desktop.` This
is the will of Mrs Drablow. Mrs.
Drablow of Eel Marsh House in
Yorkshire.
8. Mrs. Drablow was dead, she
had no relatives in Britain.
And they were his lawyers
then Mr. Bentley wanted
Arthur go to the
funeral.`After the funeral," I
had to go to Eel Marsh
House and see the papers
of the elderly and bring
something important.
9. There was not much time to prepare for the trip, then
Arthur wrote a note to Stella, his fiancee.
I was beginning to feel excited as I had an important
job to do.
11. The next morning Arthur
walked around the small
town of Crythin Gifford.
He walked back to the inn
and prepared for burial. He
put on a dark suit and left.
Mr. Jerome was Mrs.
Drablow’s agent.
12. The church was located in an old
cemetery. Mr. Jerome and Arthur
were the only people at the
funeral but Arthur hear a woman
who was in the back of the
church. The girl's face was white
and very fine. How sick she
looked!
When they left the church looked
very much like women. They
walked slowly to the Gifford
weapons. Arthur had to go
through a walkway to get to Eel
Marsh House.
14. The key to the house was in
his hand and thought,
perhaps, one day, Stella and
I will stay here. He wanted
to be with her in that
beautiful place.
I was beginning to get dark
and entered the house,
then he saw the young
woman again.
15. He did not believe in ghosts, had
work to do. He should forget the
woman in black. There was a
musty smell in the house because
Ms. Drablow had lived alone, it
was a beautiful but quiet place.
He had used the keys to open
some tables and cabinets. They
were full of papers. He was sure
that some of these roles were
important.
26. He began to work again, after a few hours, he found a sheaf of letters
tied. After dinner the reads the letters, he noted that all the letters
were signed by Jennet, was realized that the letters were written 60
years ago. All the cards were devoted to the Lady Alice Drablow.
27. The dog was next to the door, and he heard sounds. And he was scared but
he decided to leave and he took a torch and an axe, he heard a sound so
bump bump bump and the sound of a pony and a tram. He regarded that
room had toys, clothes and everything was very clean, the clothes seemed
very old.
29. He heard the cry of a desperate child, he prayed for the child. He got
up and opened the door of the room, your dog accompanied him, he
regarded that a ghost went for the fourth child. He wanted to light but
the torch fell and broke. He recalled that there was a candle in the
child's room. He took up sailing and returned to his room, he had a
feeling of sadness, then he began to read, he fell sleeping
30. when he woke up and was early, he
regarded his dog, and the dog moving
tail because I wanted to leave, he pulled
out when he and his dog were both
heard a very strong whistle the dog ran
out and he could not stop it, he did not
know who had whistled for the reservoir
was empty, he saw his dog and he will
cry that the dog stops, is trapped in the
mud, he try to help him but both were
trapped, it seemed that both would die.
In time he placed the collar on the dog
and both managed to save himself.
31. When he and his dog returned, he
looked away the child's room
window and he regarded that
someone was standing there looking
out, it was the woman in black, she
stared, hatred in his eyes was
horrible. He began to tremble, then
he came to the door of the House
then he hear the sound that most
feared the sound of a pony and a
trap.
33. When he woke up he was lying on a sofa and Mr. Daily had
come for him and Mr. Daily said that he came in the pony
because it is more secure than a car. Then he told you what
happened to your dog and he started to cry and he asked Mr.
daily where was your dog and Mr. daily told him that his dog
was safe and that it was there.
34. After the dog went into moving
its tail, Mr. Daily said now go my
home. He recalled what
happened and know that the
woman in black was a ghost, he
wondered because she was there
but then he replied to Mr. Daily
saying thank you but that he had
to finish his work, and Mr. Daily
said that it doesn't matter
because there is nothing
important there and he said that
good but that it will take the
cards.
35. Then he went up to collect his
things, he had no fear then he
went to the child's room and
he observed that everything
was destroyed less swing, then
he fell and went with Mr. Daily
and he said that never again it
would return to this place.
37. He was angry because he had not
finished its work, the woman in black
stopped him, he then returned to
read the cards for the end of the
story, when she picked up the other
roles and he regarded were death
certificates, was the first child, the
second was nanny, both drowned the
same day and the third was of Jennet
and she died of heart failure. He
realized that the woman in black was
Jennet.
38. He knew where they were buried.
They were buried in the old
cemetery behind the Marsh House.
