Fall of the Romanov Dynasty
Was Nicholas solely responsible for the revolution of 1917?
The revolution of 1917 was the culmination of a number of factors coming together and causing
the volatile mix of reasons to come together and boil over. The people of Russia where fed up with
the horrible conditions they had to put up with and decided to do something about it. Some factor I
will discuss include the industrialization,
Nicholas introduced several policies which harmed his countries economic prosperity. One thing
that caused massive instability was the encouragement of industrialization. Many peasants decided
to move to the urban areas in search of a better life, with the most growth in St Petersburg (55%
between 1891 and 1900). These peasants found work in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Russia immediately declared war with Germany, and the fighting began. Soon the Tsar realised that
his visions of a short, glorious victory where never going to happen and soon the two waring
parties where entrenched in a slow, bloody war. From the outset, the Germans held every advantage
over Russia, on and supporting the battlefield.
This war created more economic problems in the cities of Russia. Inflation had know gripped
the city with some goods and services prices rising by up to 300%. Food became less and less
affordable and soon there where scuffles breaking out across the city over essentials such as bread.
The Tsar was feeling the pressure and decided to command his army from the front, taking full
responsibility for the war. With Nicholas on the battlefront, Alexandria took over the running of the
government. The situation was bad enough, and the Tsarinas poor political skill did nothing to
appease the situation. Urgent telegrams where sent to the Tsar, urging him to come back to the city
and try and stabilise the situation. Nicholas showed great ignorance when it came to this advice In
replying to one such telegram from the leader of the Duma, he replied That fatty Rodzianko has
sent me some nonsense, which I shan t even answer
Finally, the pressure told and the people revolted. When the Petrograd garrison did not carry out the
orders of the government (and instead joined the

Karma Chameleon Analysis
The song, Karma Chameleon, by Culture Club was written by the band s lead singer, Boy
George. Karma Chameleon was released in 1983 and reached the top charts in Great Britain,
and in 1984, Culture Club won Best Single for the song at the Brit Awards. Through the song,
Boy George communicates the fear of alienation. At first listen, the meaning is uncertain in the
lyrics, but it is clear in the video. The video takes place in Mississippi in 1877 with dozens of
people dressed in the garb of that period. Although there are dozens of the 19th century citizens,
there is one that stands out: Boy George. The song is about the terrible fear of alienation that
people have, the fear of standing up for one thing. It s about trying to suck up to everybody [...],

As a younger man, Boy George worked as a bagger for a grocery store. He had been dressing in
his usual garb for his whole life but was fired because he began wearing the bags. Because of his
extravagant look, he was fired for being himself. This fact gives much more insight into what
Karma Chameleon really means. As mentioned before, you string along has its own meaning in the
video, but it changes when the lyrics are analyzed. In society, the phrase outlines the act of keeping
someone waiting or in a state of uncertainty. These lines are directed towards the unknown character
who repeatedly keeps the singer waiting for affection. Along with the title is another significant

Liberal Democracy And The Constitutional System
Liberal democracy is a form of government that operates under a constitutional system and is
ruled by the electorate. The government is representative of the people and regular elections are
held. It calls for the freedoms that are stated in America s first amendment freedom of press,
speech, religion, and assembly. This political ideology has been apart of history. Patriots, such as
our founding fathers and Patrick Henry, were willing to risk their lives in order to achieve freedom
from an oppressive monarchial government. They risked everything in order to have a shot at
individual freedoms and basic human rightssuch as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The
most important claims of liberal democracyare a representative government, a limited
government, the separation of powers, and property rights. These claims will be assessed from a
biblical perspective (and further expounded upon). A representative government is a key aspect
of liberal democracy. Since the power to elect a leader to a political office rests with the people,
those in office have an obligation to honor those voices accurately. An active and responsive
government body can be very productive. Not only will it create a strong nation, but citizens have
the potential to be highly satisfied with their work. Anarchy is less likely to occur. The Bible
discusses the process of starting a representative government in Deuteronomy 1.
In Deuteronomy 1:13 17 (NRSV) it says, Choose for each of your

several works of art in just the ten short years that he painted. I had a chance to study Van Gogh
in Art Appreciation. We watched a YouTube video in the fall 2015 semester of Art Appreciation

song Vincent also called Starry, Starry Night by singer Don Mclean. The slideshow was of
different pictures that Van Gogh had painted that seemed to match flawlessly with the words being

depressing. When really listening to the music, I heard lyrics like, weathered faces

Evolution Of Baseball Research Paper
The Baseball World Filled with Money
Baseball has been part of American history for well over 150 years now. It is considered to be
America s pastime, meaning it is what people loved to do in their off time back in the late 1800s
and early 1900s. Baseball was invented by Abner Doubleday in Cooperstown, New York in 1839.
Back then baseball was much different than today. Different rules, balls, and equipment than in
today s age. As baseball developed things changed such as the rules and equipment. Better
equipment was put into place to help enhance the performance of the ball players. Baseball has
become a sport of scouting. More and more scouts come to watch kids play in college and high

The Impact of the Tuberculosis Vaccine Essay
The Impact of the Tuberculosis Vaccine
Abstract
Tuberculosis is one of the most infectious diseases in the world. With almost one third of the world
infected with this virus, people are striving to help prevent the spread of this disease (NIAID,
2001). One prevention technique for tuberculosis is the BCG (Bacillus of Calmette and Guerin)
vaccine. In the early twentieth century Calmette and Guerin worked together to isolate a strain of
the disease creating the first BCG vaccine. Throughout the century the scientists improved the BCG
vaccine and today there are several different strains of the vaccine available. However, even today
its full effects on the disease are unknown. The exploration of the effects of the vaccine, the best ...

Mycobacterium bovis to immediately contain the Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The goal of the
vaccine is to keep the body functioning normally, even after contact with Mycobacterium
tuberculosis.
The BCG vaccine was first created in the early twentieth century. In 1906, in Paris, scientists
Calmette and Guerin began experimenting with the vaccine for tuberculosis (NIAID, 2001).
They isolated a strain of Mycobacterium bovis from a cow and began their experimentation on
the living organism. After running tests on animals for over a decade, genetic changes began
occurring in the original strain; this new strain was called the BCG vaccine. In Europe, in 1921,
Calmette and Guerin introduced their vaccine to their first human subjects (WHO, 5). They fed
the vaccine to baby patients orally. By 1928, the Health Committee of the League of Nations
admitted it into use (Pediatric Research, 2002). Tuberculosis got off to a rocky start when it was
first administered. In Lubeck, Germany, almost a quarter of the babies given the BCG vaccine got
the tuberculosis disease or infection from the vaccine itself. The scandal caused general public to
be skeptical of the vaccine. Following the outbreak, it was discovered that the vaccine had been

Communication Technology And Nonverbal Communication
Technology can be positive through providing face to face live video and audio chats, but can
also be detrimental when it comes to simple texting without nonverbal messages. Facetime has
been able to provide expressions and voice cues that help bring meaning to verbal messages.
Nonverbal communication is hard to fake and is more trustable. While, texting can be detrimental
to relationships because the meanings of words are skewed since they don t have nonverbal cues
to give context and meaning to them. The relationships that is most influenced by technology is
my friends at Uconn because we spend so much time together and the amount of closeness I feel
with these people is no comparable to those affected only by technology because I feel a sort of
closeness through maintaining a close distance to them and I have the ability to exchange vocal and
facial cues.
A new communication technology I believe is having a positive influence on interpersonal
relationships is facetime. This is because facetime allows nonverbal communication to happen which
is one of the most important forms of communication as it plays a role in about 60% of all face to
face conversations. For example, me and my best friend would communicate about our daily
troubles and when we wanted to talk about them we would use facetime to talk. We thought this
would be beneficial to our important friendship because through facetime we were able to
distinguish whether the other person was feeling actual sympathy or

128. How did the different kings of the 400s effect The Christian faith? What were the positives
and negatives of each?
The Christian faith was effected differently dependent upon the king at the time, and the changes
they decided to make. Sometimes for the positive and sometimes for the negative. Originally the
Church and the Roman Empire in the East worked closely together. By the mid 400 s the
commander in chief, who was named, Odovacar, was king of the Goths, (he deposed the
Western emperor in 476.) Then Theidoric became king of the eastern Goths, he managed to
keep the peace, however he had one major different religious belief. Thai difference was that the
Romans were allied to the Church of Rome; the Goths, Theodoric included, were Arians.
Theodoric granted religious freedom to all. Clovis, king of the Franks was baptized and had
thousands of his soldiers be baptized with him. (The Franks were the only Catholics.) Clovis used
the Church to unite the people, and had a set order of religious rituals. As the Franks spread
Arianism died out. However then disagreements arose amongst the bishop of Rome and patriarch
of Constantinople of theological matter. So Denis the Short created the canon law, he also changed
lists of the saints, and he started a new calendar one dating from the year of Christ s birth (what we
use today.)

Strategic Pl Strategic Planning
6. Imperative strategic planning approach
Mechanisms for imperative strategic plan for setting up of more efficient funding mechanisms
examined, either by creating new structures or by strengthening or restructuring the existing ones,
for promotion of basic research in imperative strategic plan. Personnel of imperative strategic plan
as imperative strategic technologists, while being large in absolute numbers is not commensurate
with the requirements in imperative strategic and when measured on a per capita basis.
Organizational imperative strategic involves uncommon events and recognition of entrepreneurial
firms. The multivariate analysis of the error variance also led us to verify that, it decreases with
formal education and work experience prior to the current imperative strategic planning. These
results cannot be explained by conventional human capital models and provide a more robust test of
learning.
Management of imperative strategic plan has an important role in any general collective to address
the problems of management of the impacts of natural hazards. The introduction of imperative
strategic planning management positions to explain differences in managerial imperative strategic

And Still We Rise
If you had different hardships in your life would you be a different person? The answer is most
likely yes. A person s character is based upon the experiences they have been through. Adversity
has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant,
Horace. In And Still We Rise by Miles Corwin, Corwin shares the lives of inner city kids who still
strive to succeed and go to college although the circumstances they are dealt with have told them
otherwise. Some of the kids that dealt with bad hands were Toya, Olivia, and Willie. The struggles
that they went through are impetuous. Growing up, Toya never knew her biological father. Instead

They were then separated into several different houses never to live with together again. Willie
ended up living with his dad who was constantly working. He strived in school because he didn t
want to end up like his parents. One afternoon Willie saw his mother passed out in a yard in the
neighborhood. When things went wrong, all Willie could do was cry and be sad because he
really had no one to turn to. Later in the year, Willie became homecoming king which
symbolized to him that he did not let the past reflect the way he would end up. Being named
homecoming king was a powerful symbol to him that his past had not defined him nor deterred
him from success, (244). He finished high school and later went to Morehouse College in
Atlanta, Georgia for business. Willie did not let what his mother did or the lack of authority
affect his success in going to college and quitting the cycle of his parents. From the beatings her
mother gave her to going AWOL after hating foster homes, Olivia s life was far from perfect.
When Olivia was a teenager she was a ward of the county, hopping from one group home to
another. Other girls would steal her clothes and chase her around with a hot iron. She went AWOL
shortly after that, living in her own apartment, having a crazy work schedule, that was just her life.
Whenever she had financial issues she would return to her social worker and yet again be put into a

Commercial Whaling and its Controversy
Many countries have been killing whales calling it research . Many believe that commercial
whaling is not okay and is killing whales off. The international community has to make the choice
whether we want to risk killing them. We should continue killing the whales at certain guidelines
as to how many each year. It is a part of some cultures and we should not harm that. There are a
few positives that come from the whaling. There is different cultures that influence eating different
kinds of foods. Some cultures do not understand the importance of whaling, many countries do
not whale. Many cultures think that whaling is part of their countries way of life (Skare).
People in many U.S states hunt for many different animals, how is hunting any worse than
killing whales. Media plays a big role in making whaling out to be a very evil practice. Whale
Wars sabotage the Japanese ships that are whaling. Whale Wars throws stuff onto the ships deck.
Whale meat consists of very high amounts of nutrients. For many countries that eat a lot of
whale it is easy access to nutrients. Whale is very high in protein. It is also very low in saturated
fats which is really good to not have(Nutrition Facts). They do not just kill whales they also do
research on the whales and the populations. They evaluate the deep sea roles of whales and the
food chains (Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs). On the flip side there are a lot of very bad

Different Impacts on Religion
Close to one hundred and fifty years apart, both Louis XIV Edict of Fontainebleau and Luther s
Address to the Christian Nobility of the German Nation had an immense impact on religion. Martin
Luther s document would pave the way for the Protestant Reformation, while Louis XIV would
revoke all the freedoms that the Huguenots enjoyed in a Catholic France with the Edict of Nantes.
This essay will compare and contrast these distinctions and their impact on religion. Therefore,
although years apart, these two documents lead a paradigm shift, address what they believe to be
evils plaguing their lands, and put power in the hands of the temporal authorities.

The Pope s anointment and all his religious rites (unction, tonsure, ordination, consecration) all
made him a puppet and not what a real leader of the Catholic Church should have been. Luther
quoted St. Peter who said, Thus we are all consecrated as, priests by baptism , which meant all
the citizens are equal under God s eyes. Every Christian is baptized and has the ability to absolve
their sins and Luther believed that with indulgences, the Church has destroyed the great virtue of
these privileges. The second wall attacked the Church considering them to be Master of

the only one right in interpreting scriptures. Luther explained that if this was the case, then we

devilish and damnable heresy. Luther went about this on his own as he translated the Bible into

Analysis Of Arm Wrestling With My Father And Shooting...
The Inability to Recognize Different Types of Love
Both Arm Wrestling with My Father and Shooting Dad written by Brad Manning and Sarah Vowell,
respectively, portrays a damaged and rough relationship that a son and/or daughter holds with his
father. Although they both find themselves struggling, they are dealing with different things,
Manning is dealing with a physical bounding, while Vowell finds herself handling a more emotional
and communicative type of bonding. Eventually, both characters find themselves in a mature
relationship over time. The characters had similarities and also differences with their respective
father. Throughout the stories, both authors dig into the relationship between child and father and
how it can be shaped and changed over time.
The difference between the bounding and the way affection is shown it s critical. Manning find

The Catalyst Behind The American Revolution
The American Revolution was more of a war for independence than an actual revolution. No
centuries old social orders were toppled like in the French Revolution. The catalyst behind the
American Revolution was the effect that certain English acts of legislation were having on the
American elite. For example, contrary to popular thought, the Tea Act actually lowered the price of
legitimately imported British tea which as a result became more popular than smuggled tea. The
Stamp Act also affected the American elite and had a negligible effect on the rest of Americans.
While the elite benefitted from independence, the rest of America was actually worse off
immediately following the Revolution. The Articles of Confederation set up a very weak

Racial Inequality In Schools
Diversity is recognizing a person s differences as far as religion, ethnic group, sexual orientation,
etc. Diversity can be seen in a workplace, schools, restaurants, or any public area. Often diversity
courses aim to explain that racism not only entails attitudes but also affects the opportunity
structure in U.S. society; thus, the content of such courses should decrease the extent to which
students view inequality as the result of individual short comings (Cole, E. R., Case, K. A., Rios,
D., Curtin, N.). Yes, psychologyis the study of the mind however; learning the many different
diversities is also learned and taught in psychology.
A sophisticated understanding of race also entails sensitivity to the fact that race and racism are
experienced differently depending on other social group memberships one holds, including gender

The Chrysanthemums Naturalism Essay
Naturalism is a literary genre introduced in the early nineteenth century based as an extreme form
of realism. Naturalistic writers use this technique to write stories based on certain environmental
factors and social conditions to truly interpret the characters through observation. In John Steinbeck
s, The Chrysanthemums, he focuses on these specific factors of social conditions and
environmental aspects as elements to configure the character of Elisa Allen. Steinbeck does an
excellent job in applying these elements of naturalismto Elisa s character for a better understanding
of her as well as the thematic purpose throughout the story. This short story begins with a married
couple by the names of Harry and Elisa Allen. They live on a... Show more content on

This important factor used in the story exemplifies the purpose of Elisa s feelings. The way
Steinbeck uses Elisa as a smart, independent, strong, beautiful women and the way she is
degraded by these men is a big controversy even in today s society. Her husband in the story is
essentially the money maker of the couple while she stays at home and plants flowers which is
considered to be a woman s job. Harry is in control of all the business aspects while Elisa
watches him from afar as she is not considered to be capable of such work. Steinbeck then brings
in this strange man who has traveled many places and has done many things. Elisa finds his
stories captivating and interesting and makes her desire for more in her life. She tells him she
is capable of performing tasks that he does for work but is quickly shut down as he tells her it is
more of a man s job. This gives us a sense of doubt Elisa has with her life as a woman and how
she will not get to experience an adventurous life as a man will. No one will know how capable
she is if the world is controlled by men telling women what they can or cannot do. The
chrysanthemums are the only thing she feels like she has accomplished and gifted to society. This
social aspect is a huge part of what Elisa feels throughout the story creating a thematic principle on

Some of the research findings are listed below: Adults will commit to learning when they believe
that the objectives are realistic and important for their personal and professional needs. Adults
desire to be the origin of their own learning and should have some control over the what, who,
how, why, when, and where of their learning. Coaching and other kinds of follow up support are
needed because adult learners do not automatically transfer learning into daily practice. Adults
need feedback on the results of their efforts. Adults need direct, concrete experiences for applying
what they have learned to their work. Adult learners come to the learning process with self
direction and a wide range of previous experiences. Employment for the purpose of coaching on a
one to one basis responds to each of these characteristics of adult learners whether they lead schools
or private businesses. The authors further discuss what coaching isn t. In order to understand the
concept of coaching it is necessary to know what coaching is not, and to review some of the
practices that are infrequently confused with it. Coaching is not training. Coaching is centered on
context and design to respond to the needs of the individual learner. Coaching is not mentoring
although effective mentors use coaching skills and strategies.

Summary of The Crime of Poverty by Henry George Essay
Summery of The Crime of Poverty by Henry George. The essay begins with Henry George
referring to his audience as ladies and gentlemen. He then goes on to state that poverty is a
crime. A crime not committed by the poor, but rather the poor as victims of the crime. He also
does not wholly blame those perpetrating the crime, he also gives a kind of notion that the
victim has a hand the situation he or she finds themselves in. He says the poverty is a curse that
not only the poor have but is on every level of society even the rich. He says the rich also suffer
because it is like the air all the community breathes. They too must breathe it. Henry George says
poverty is the harbinger of crime and ignorance. After seeing men in... Show more content on

basic wants for every human being has not been met. He then says if animals could think what
would be their thoughts about humans who have achieved so much and yet there are still those
of us who are not fed. He also brings up the point that if man having one life to live, should

Comprehension is a construction process because it involves all of the elements of the reading
process working together as a text is read to create a representation of the text in the reader s mind
(В¶1).
Finally, literary competence is defined by Brumfit and Carter (1996) as follows: Literary education
is seen by many as the inculcation in students of the kind of sensitivity to literature which allows
discrimination of the good from the bad . When we have achieved defined capacities of judgment,
then we have acquired a literary competence... (p. 16).
1.1. The importance of literacy, reading comprehension and literary competence.
In the era of television, the Internet and computer games, the role of literature as a source of
entertainment is rapidly declining. One has to admit that watching television or surfing the
Internet is easier for a tired mind that to read a book or a magazine which requires some
attention, imagination and preferably reflection. However, the decline has not solely been the
result of the accessibility of the afore mentioned media, it has been caused by the general lack of
awareness about the importance of literacy, reading comprehension and subsequently lack of
literary competence among ordinary people. The statistics are alarming. As CAF (Campaign for
America s Future) reports there are 774 million people illiterate in the world due to such factors as
wars, poverty or discrimination. It is

aspects of the target consumer market and its relationship to this company. After careful study of

Because of this plus size consumers purchase less plus sized clothes with the idea that they will
be returning to their normal size soon. Plus size consumers who feel this way would be more
motivated to purchase clothes that fit them if there were no negative or adverse perceptions and
attitudes toward plus size clothes. Furthermore if plus size consumers were more acceptant and
confident about their current body size and body image it would lead to a potential increase in
sales. II. Discuss the real world changes that appear to be occurring with respect to media images
of women. What are the reasons for this? With the plus size clothing industry at a critical turning
point, where it has grown and is continuing to grow it leaves room for Lane Bryant and other plus

Disadvantages Of Traveling The World
Paris, France for two months, Rome, Italy for three weeks and, Accra, Ghana for one year
sounds like the perfect life for most millennials. Traveling the world in addition to experiencing
different cultures is the ideal life to live in the eyes of the youth. Simple yet paralyzing situations
such as money problems can result in people staying where they are. Luckily there are jobs where
we can make a living off of our dreams. Being an au pair, traveling nurse, or graphic designers
balances the situation of money and a way of travel. These jobs are also very diverse in terms of
the working field. With advantages comes disadvantages each different for every job. Au pairs
are not common in the United States but it is one of the best ways to travel, learn a new
language, and get money all at the same time. To apply for this job the applicant must be single,
between the ages of 18 and 30, no children, good English skills, graduate of secondary school,
and no criminal record (Au Pair World 1). Being an au pair is similar to being a nanny but the
age requirements are different. Au pairs are usually admitted into a host family in France. The
host family will provide shelter, food, and all the basic needs for survival and in return he or she
will babysit the host parents children. During the weekends the au pair is allowed to roam around
the city and explore their culture. Another benefit to being an au pair through a program
connected with au pair services, workers have the opportunity to learn another language during

Currently, business processes are more complex and interconnected than ever before and they
discard traditional organizational structures (Hass 2016). By using alternative methodologies
instead of traditional ones, organizations can handle exceptional changes, time to market
compression, rapidly changing technologies and increasing complexity at every turn (Hass
2016). Overview of Traditional Methodologies Traditional methodologies are characterized by a
sequential series of steps like requirement definition, planning, building, testing and deployment
(Optimus Information 2016). There are various traditional methodologies but three most
substantial ones are Waterfall, Spiral Model and Unified Process (Awad 2005, p. 3). Waterfall
Royce presented this SDLC and it comprises of sequential completion of every phase before
moving on to next phase. It is kind of impractical methodology because waterfall states that
requirements should be fully completed followed by completion of analysis and design (Aitken
Ilango 2013, p. 4752). It doesn t give the leverage in modification of requirements during later
stages. Spiral Model It combines prototyping and design in order to get advantages of bottom up as
well top down notions. It is an advanced form of waterfall method. The four main phases include
objective setting, risk assessment,

Sailors will be allowed to have neck tattoos, sleeves and even markings behind their ears under

The generation of self employment in non farm activities requires investment in working capital.
However, at low levels of income, the accumulation of such capital may be difficult. Under such
circumstances, loans, by increasing family income, can help the poor to accumulate their own
capital and invest in employment generating activities (Hossain, 1988). Commercial banks and
other formal institutions fail to cater for the credit needs of smallholders, however, mainly due to
their lending terms and conditions. It is generally the rules and regulations of the formal financial
institutions that have created the myth that the poor are not bankable, and since they can t afford
the required collateral, they are considered uncreditworthy (Adera, 1995). Hence despite efforts to
overcome the widespread lack of financial services, especially among smallholders in developing
countries, and the expansion of credit in the rural areas of these countries, the majority still have
only limited access to bank services to support their private initiatives (Braverman and Guasch,
1986). In the recent past, there has been an increased tendency to fund credit programmes in the
developing countries aimed at small scale enterprises. In Kenya, despite emphasis on increasing
the availability of credit to small and microenterprises (SMEs), access to credit by such enterprises
remains one of the major constraints they face. A 1995 survey of small and

Combustion engine vehicles have come a long way, especially since conventional vehicles are

over the past few decades, and continue to improve with each passing year. Due to these

vehicles. However, Lotus Car Rental should add 100 alternative fuel vehicles to its fleet, placing
50 vehicles in Boston, MA and 50 vehicles in Los Angeles, CA. in order to maximize profit.

Human Body Spleen Research Paper
The anatomy of the human body spleen, gall bladder, and appendix
Lareesha S. Clercira
December 21, 2016
Anatomy p: 5
Mr.McGarity
The three organs I am doing research on are the spleen, gall bladder, and appendix. As the spleen
playing a role part of the immune system such as the appendix, it is also involved in the digestive
system with the gall bladder. The human spleen is located in the upper far left part of the abdomen
which is also, on the left side of the stomach. The spleen comes in diverse shapes and sizes
between different people, but it is most commonly shaped like a fist, violet colored, and
approximately four inches long. The spleen has a lot of functions. The functions of the spleen
include filtering of the blood, recycling old red ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The three diseases or disorders the spleen may receive are splenomegaly, ruptured spleen, and
sickle cell. Splenomegaly, which is the enlarging of the spleen and which is usually caused by virus
related mononucleosis, liver disease, and blood cancers such as, leukemia or even other
conditions. Ruptured spleen causes life threatening, perpetual bleeding. It can rupture
immediately after an injury or even or even days or weeks after the injury occurred. Sickle cell
disease is originally from anemia, which is the abnormality of red cells blocking the flow of
blood throw vessels and which may lead to organ damages. If you are anyone with sickle cell you
will need to get immunizations, or a vaccine to help prevent illnesses that the spleen is helping to
fight off. A treatment available for splenectomy is having the spleen removed by a surgical
procedure. During this procedure you may either use laparoscopy, which is when you get several
small cuts or, laparotomy when getting one large cut. The human

Big Society Volunteerism
Company
More than one hundred years ago, the American Society for the Control of Cancer (ASCC) was
founded in New York City at a time when a cancer diagnosis meant certain death. The goal of the
organization was to raise public awareness about the disease. Eventually, the name of the
organization was changed to the American Cancer Society (ACS) and the mission evolved from
solely awareness to also include research, programs, and fundraisers. The modern ACS is a
nationwide, community based health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major
health problem, according to its website.
Through its fundraising and community educating mechanisms, the society hopes to eradicate
cancer and celebrate more birthdays. As one of the world s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The rewards of individual engagement in volunteering: a missing dimension of the Big Society
notes that motives for volunteers vary by age group. Younger volunteers, like teenagers, are
inspired to volunteer in order to gain benefits for a career.
According to The Motivations to Volunteer: Theoretical and Practical Considerations, there are six
main motives for volunteerism, and of the six the most important for young people besides career
are values, understanding, and enhancement. A study of corporate volunteerism found that between
one third to one half of the people participating who volunteered in their field improved in key
areas of their job.
The international study in Motivations, Death Anxiety, and Empathy in Hospice Volunteers in
France shows that people with high death anxiety are less likely to succeed and less likely to stay
committed to hospice volunteering. While volunteers with low death anxiety are more likely to
commit long term to the hospice volunteer

Music Is A Product Of Human Intention And Perception Essay
Without the human intention, perception, and interpretation of sound, then the existence of music
would be imaginary. Music includes talking words in a way that the person creates a sound that is
made with the intention of being music (Deutsch, Diana 10 13, Justus Timothy., 33 40). Besides,
people can perceive silence and soundand put them together so as to call the outcome music. In
Bakan s fourth proposition, he identifies the approach as the Human Intention and Perception
(HIP) approach (Resnicow, Joel E., 10 22). In other words, the proposition tries to suggest that
music is inseparable from the makers; or more specifically the people who perceive and
experience it. Bakan gives numerous examples to show that music is a product of human intention
and perception. This paper conducts research and gives appropriate examples to show that music is
only identified as music if the person is making it has the intention for their words to be music.
To understand why music is a product of human intention and perception, we start by defining or
understanding the nature of music. Music is defined as the sounds or combination of vocals and
instruments in a way that it produces a form of beauty, expression, or harmony of emotions.
Arguably, people compose or make music through many ways (Resnicow, Joel E., 20 29). While
some people might compose music without incorporating instruments, others use instruments to
produce beats that match with their sounds. However, to argue that the

Joanne s Political Cartoon Analysis
I found Joanne s political cartoon extremely relevant to current events and policy debates. The
cartoon depicts a sheriff and a Texan standing in chest deep water. In the background are farm
animals huddled on the top of a roof in order to prevent drowning, and a large billboard allowing
the audience to know the setting is in TEXAS . However, the most vital part of the cartoon is the
sheriff s line above him, It s not global warming. This water s cold, which parallels the steady
position of the Republican party on climate change. Even when the water is about to flood both
individuals, the Texas sheriff is solid in his claim against global warming and will not budge.
This sentiment against climate protection has evolved over the years. Over

African Americans And African American Culture
Based on my life experiences, the characteristics described by McNamara and Burns (2009) were
essentially consistent with my experiences and perception of the African American culture. One
common characteristic is that African Americans are much more likely to live in poverty and
poverty stricken areas than White Americans (McNamara Burns, 2009). What I have learned it is
not as simple as African Americans are poorer than White Americans. While the statement is true, it
is simplistic. There are many reasons and. causes for the disparity in wealth and income between
African Americans and White American. One explanation given by McNamara and Burns (2009) is
that African Americans lived in slavery for over two centuries in what is now the United States. This
is one cause, but to rely on this as the reason for the disparity is simplistic. Slavery was outlawed
only to be replaced by discrimination against African Americans (McNamara Burns, 2009). While
the law changed, the attitudes of people did not. No law can force how a person thinks. The
attitudes of White Americans continued to see African Americans are having less rights than White
Americans (Williams, n.d.). This was especially true in the South where in the majority of the
states slavery was legal (McNamara Burns, 2009). The attitudes and discrimination are still evident
today in all areas of life. The criminal justicesystem purports to be color blind when it comes to the
administration of justice,

A Better Safer Alternative Treatment
The word cancer strikes fear into the hearts of many people and their loved ones. Millions of
people are diagnosed every year and they put their full trust into their doctors to make the best
decisions and offer the most effective treatment. However people tend to be more frightened of the
treatment itself because traditional cancertherapies produce scary symptoms such as vomiting, pain,
and hair loss. The treatments leave patients feeling extremely weak and fatigued. Most patients
believe that these drug treatments are the best and only option to cure them. There is a better safer
alternative treatment that the FDA might be hiding from the public. This alternative treatment is
called amygdalin although it is also known under the term the... Show more content on

In this way the cancer is killed. The cyanide is only released when it comes into contact with a
cancer cell making it safe to the human body. On the opposing side people claim that the
cyanide in amygdalin is dangerous and unsuccessful in treating and curing cancer. However the
amount in the seeds is so small that it would not produce any harm and the fact that it is
enclosed makes it safe. The medical drug treatments are far more dangerous and have the ability
to kill a person in certain doses. According to the PLOS ONE medical journal article Amygdalin
Blocks Bladder Cancer cell Growth In Vitro by Diminishing Cyclin A and cdk2 even though
people opposed to amygdalin claim that the cyanide content in the seed is not effective, unsafe,
and toxic none of these claims have been not been observed in any of the treated patients. (page
1 paragraph 4.) According to their study amygdalin caused a complete cure in 40.5% of people
and relieved symptoms in 22.9% of people, from the 368 people treated. This means that a large
number of people were cured something a medical treatment cannot do. Medical drugs only put
people into a cancer free state called remission. This remission period can last 5 years or 10
years before the disease returns. Thus it is a band aid fix to the problem. And to make matters
worse chemotherapy drugs and radiation only provide relief in late stages of cancer and do not
provide prolonged life in most cases. Amygdalin found in natural seeds is

A Research On European Banking Regulations And Their...
The following paper attempts to address the need for future research as mentioned in part A.
European Banks are not required to hold a capital buffer against the sovereign debt holding of
any European state, regardless of the risk involved. As a result European governments had
issued excessive debt, taking advantage of a sovereign subsidy of other EU member states in
the form of the 0 risk weight for their MFI. If such a risk finally materialises, MFI will be left
undercapitalised because they do not hold a capital buffer for their sovereign exposure. Therefore
0 risk represents a channel, through which sovereign risk can extend to any EU member state.
Thus, the focus of the paper is to develop a new measure that quantifies the banks risk... Show more

To support Korte and Steffen s empirical analysis there are Bolton and Jeanne (2011), who argue
how financial integration may lead to ex post contagion and oversupply of risky sovereign debt.
Further, Acharya et al. (2014) develop a model, which sees banks overleveraged because they
invest too much in low risk weighted instead of diversifying the risk. Korte and Steffen build on
this model to develop their hypothesis for the research paper. Korte and Steffen incorporate two
streams of literature, which are important to give evidence on how risk weight regulation impairs
financial stability in the Eurozone. The first stream focuses on both determinants and
interdependence of sovereign risk. These are Duffie et al. (2003); Bolton and Jeanne (2011);
Barth et al. (2012); Acharya, Drechsler, and Schnabl (2014). Examples are: Ang and Longstaff
(2013), evaluates the co movement of sovereign default risk. Chen (2013), finds that financial
linkages likely provide a channel for sovereign risk spillovers. Kallestrup et al (2013), evaluates
how banking sector variables, such as cross border exposure amplify the effect, that non domestic
sovereign has on domestic sovereign risk. The second stream of literature, evaluates the

Strategic Planning Requires Hard Work And Dedication
Strategic planning requires hard work and dedication. Nothing can be effectively executed without
a plan of action in place.
Blankstein (2004) states that:
Addressing the core beliefs of an entire school community is a lengthy process. It is essential to be
sure to hold the line on behaviors and language that may conflict with organizational values and
mission. Without at least commitment to behavior that supports the school values and mission, the
fundamental aspect of any school values and mission that all students will learn will become
invalid (p. 115).
The Henderson County Public Schools in North Carolina strategic plan is a thirty seven page
instrument addressing five major goals with subset goal descriptors under each. Henderson County
School goals are: (1) Focus on every child; (2) Prepare students to be globally competitive in the
21st century; (3) Provide an effective teaching and learning environment; (4) Focus on building
positive community relationships; and (5) Maintain safe, quality energy efficient facilities.
The Henderson County Schools strategic plan vision statement says, Every student will achieve
success and graduate as a life long learners, globally competitive, prepared for college, college, and
life. The Henderson County Schools vision statement is imaginable, appropriate, feasible, focused,
flexible, and communicable. There were no additional components that would add value or validity
to the statements. This important factor led me

  • 2. Fall of the Romanov Dynasty Was Nicholas solely responsible for the revolution of 1917? The revolution of 1917 was the culmination of a number of factors coming together and causing the volatile mix of reasons to come together and boil over. The people of Russia where fed up with the horrible conditions they had to put up with and decided to do something about it. Some factor I will discuss include the industrialization, Nicholas introduced several policies which harmed his countries economic prosperity. One thing that caused massive instability was the encouragement of industrialization. Many peasants decided to move to the urban areas in search of a better life, with the most growth in St Petersburg (55% between 1891 and 1900). These peasants found work in ... Soon the Tsar realised that his visions of a short, glorious victory where never going to happen and soon the two waring parties where entrenched in a slow, bloody war. From the outset, the Germans held every advantage over Russia, on and supporting the battlefield. This war created more economic problems in the cities of Russia. Inflation had know gripped the city with some goods and services prices rising by up to 300%. Food became less and less affordable and soon there where scuffles breaking out across the city over essentials such as bread. The Tsar was feeling the pressure and decided to command his army from the front, taking full responsibility for the war. With Nicholas on the battlefront, Alexandria took over the running of the government. The situation was bad enough, and the Tsarinas poor political skill did nothing to appease the situation. Urgent telegrams where sent to the Tsar, urging him to come back to the city and try and stabilise the situation. Nicholas showed great ignorance when it came to this advice In replying to one such telegram from the leader of the Duma, he replied That fatty Rodzianko has sent me some nonsense, which I shan t even answer Finally, the pressure told and the people revolted. Karma Chameleon was released in 1983 and reached the top charts in Great Britain, and in 1984, Culture Club won Best Single for the song at the Brit Awards. Through the song, Boy George communicates the fear of alienation. At first listen, the meaning is uncertain in the lyrics, but it is clear in the video. The video takes place in Mississippi in 1877 with dozens of people dressed in the garb of that period. Although there are dozens of the 19th century citizens, there is one that stands out: Boy George. The song is about the terrible fear of alienation that people have, the fear of standing up for one thing. It s about trying to suck up to everybody [...], Boy George said in an interview with The Billboard Book of #1 Hits. • 6. Liberal Democracy And The Constitutional System Liberal democracy is a form of government that operates under a constitutional system and is ruled by the electorate. The government is representative of the people and regular elections are held. It calls for the freedoms that are stated in America s first amendment freedom of press, speech, religion, and assembly. This political ideology has been apart of history. Patriots, such as our founding fathers and Patrick Henry, were willing to risk their lives in order to achieve freedom from an oppressive monarchial government. They risked everything in order to have a shot at individual freedoms and basic human rightssuch as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The most important claims of liberal democracyare a representative government, a limited government, the separation of powers, and property rights. These claims will be assessed from a biblical perspective (and further expounded upon). A representative government is a key aspect of liberal democracy. Since the power to elect a leader to a political office rests with the people, those in office have an obligation to honor those voices accurately. An active and responsive government body can be very productive. Not only will it create a strong nation, but citizens have the potential to be highly satisfied with their work. Anarchy is less likely to occur. The Bible discusses the process of starting a representative government in Deuteronomy 1. In Deuteronomy 1:13 17 (NRSV) it says, Choose for each of your ... In 1906, in Paris, scientists Calmette and Guerin began experimenting with the vaccine for tuberculosis (NIAID, 2001). They isolated a strain of Mycobacterium bovis from a cow and began their experimentation on the living organism. After running tests on animals for over a decade, genetic changes began occurring in the original strain; this new strain was called the BCG vaccine. In Europe, in 1921, Calmette and Guerin introduced their vaccine to their first human subjects (WHO, 5). They fed the vaccine to baby patients orally. By 1928, the Health Committee of the League of Nations admitted it into use (Pediatric Research, 2002). Tuberculosis got off to a rocky start when it was first administered. In Lubeck, Germany, almost a quarter of the babies given the BCG vaccine got the tuberculosis disease or infection from the vaccine itself. Communication Technology And Nonverbal Communication Technology can be positive through providing face to face live video and audio chats, but can also be detrimental when it comes to simple texting without nonverbal messages. Facetime has been able to provide expressions and voice cues that help bring meaning to verbal messages. Nonverbal communication is hard to fake and is more trustable. While, texting can be detrimental to relationships because the meanings of words are skewed since they don t have nonverbal cues to give context and meaning to them. The relationships that is most influenced by technology is my friends at Uconn because we spend so much time together and the amount of closeness I feel with these people is no comparable to those affected only by technology because I feel a sort of closeness through maintaining a close distance to them and I have the ability to exchange vocal and facial cues. A new communication technology I believe is having a positive influence on interpersonal relationships is facetime. This is because facetime allows nonverbal communication to happen which is one of the most important forms of communication as it plays a role in about 60% of all face to face conversations. For example, me and my best friend would communicate about our daily troubles and when we wanted to talk about them we would use facetime to talk. We thought this would be beneficial to our important friendship because through facetime we were able to distinguish whether the other person was feeling actual sympathy or ... The Secular Leaders From The Catholic Church Brigette Dakovich Religion P7 4 20 16 The Secular Leaders From The Catholic Church: Our Mission in History (white book by the window) on pages 126 128. How did the different kings of the 400s effect The Christian faith? What were the positives and negatives of each? The Christian faith was effected differently dependent upon the king at the time, and the changes they decided to make. Sometimes for the positive and sometimes for the negative. Originally the Church and the Roman Empire in the East worked closely together. By the mid 400 s the commander in chief, who was named, Odovacar, was king of the Goths, (he deposed the Western emperor in 476.) Then Theidoric became king of the eastern Goths, he managed to keep the peace, however he had one major different religious belief. Thai difference was that the Romans were allied to the Church of Rome; the Goths, Theodoric included, were Arians. Theodoric granted religious freedom to all. Clovis, king of the Franks was baptized and had thousands of his soldiers be baptized with him. (The Franks were the only Catholics.) Clovis used the Church to unite the people, and had a set order of religious rituals. As the Franks spread Arianism died out. However then disagreements arose amongst the bishop of Rome and patriarch of Constantinople of theological matter. So Denis the Short created the canon law, he also changed lists of the saints, and he started a new calendar one dating from the year of Christ s birth (what we use today.) ... Every Christian is baptized and has the ability to absolve their sins and Luther believed that with indulgences, the Church has destroyed the great virtue of these privileges. • 21. The Catalyst Behind The American Revolution The American Revolution was more of a war for independence than an actual revolution. No centuries old social orders were toppled like in the French Revolution. The catalyst behind the American Revolution was the effect that certain English acts of legislation were having on the American elite. For example, contrary to popular thought, the Tea Act actually lowered the price of legitimately imported British tea which as a result became more popular than smuggled tea. The Stamp Act also affected the American elite and had a negligible effect on the rest of Americans. While the elite benefitted from independence, the rest of America was actually worse off immediately following the Revolution. The Articles of Confederation set up a very weak ... • 22. Racial Inequality In Schools Diversity is recognizing a person s differences as far as religion, ethnic group, sexual orientation, etc. Diversity can be seen in a workplace, schools, restaurants, or any public area. Often diversity courses aim to explain that racism not only entails attitudes but also affects the opportunity structure in U.S. society; thus, the content of such courses should decrease the extent to which students view inequality as the result of individual short comings (Cole, E. R., Case, K. A., Rios, D., Curtin, N.). Yes, psychologyis the study of the mind however; learning the many different diversities is also learned and taught in psychology. A sophisticated understanding of race also entails sensitivity to the fact that race and racism are experienced differently depending on other social group memberships one holds, including gender and sexual orientation (Cole, E. et al., 2011). • 23. The Chrysanthemums Naturalism Essay Naturalism is a literary genre introduced in the early nineteenth century based as an extreme form of realism. Naturalistic writers use this technique to write stories based on certain environmental factors and social conditions to truly interpret the characters through observation. In John Steinbeck s, The Chrysanthemums, he focuses on these specific factors of social conditions and environmental aspects as elements to configure the character of Elisa Allen. Steinbeck does an excellent job in applying these elements of naturalismto Elisa s character for a better understanding of her as well as the thematic purpose throughout the story. This important factor used in the story exemplifies the purpose of Elisa s feelings. The way Steinbeck uses Elisa as a smart, independent, strong, beautiful women and the way she is degraded by these men is a big controversy even in today s society. Her husband in the story is essentially the money maker of the couple while she stays at home and plants flowers which is considered to be a woman s job. Harry is in control of all the business aspects while Elisa watches him from afar as she is not considered to be capable of such work. Steinbeck then brings in this strange man who has traveled many places and has done many things. Elisa finds his stories captivating and interesting and makes her desire for more in her life. She tells him she is capable of performing tasks that he does for work but is quickly shut down as he tells her it is more of a man s job. This gives us a sense of doubt Elisa has with her life as a woman and how she will not get to experience an adventurous life as a man will. No one will know how capable she is if the world is controlled by men telling women what they can or cannot do. The chrysanthemums are the only thing she feels like she has accomplished and gifted to society. This social aspect is a huge part of what Elisa feels throughout the story creating a thematic principle on gender ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Traveling the world in addition to experiencing different cultures is the ideal life to live in the eyes of the youth. Simple yet paralyzing situations such as money problems can result in people staying where they are. Luckily there are jobs where we can make a living off of our dreams. Being an au pair, traveling nurse, or graphic designers balances the situation of money and a way of travel. These jobs are also very diverse in terms of the working field. The host family will provide shelter, food, and all the basic needs for survival and in return he or she will babysit the host parents children. During the weekends the au pair is allowed to roam around the city and explore their culture. The generation of self employment in non farm activities requires investment in working capital. However, at low levels of income, the accumulation of such capital may be difficult. Under such circumstances, loans, by increasing family income, can help the poor to accumulate their own capital and invest in employment generating activities (Hossain, 1988). Commercial banks and other formal institutions fail to cater for the credit needs of smallholders, however, mainly due to their lending terms and conditions. It is generally the rules and regulations of the formal financial institutions that have created the myth that the poor are not bankable, and since they can t afford the required collateral, they are considered uncreditworthy (Adera, 1995). Hence despite efforts to overcome the widespread lack of financial services, especially among smallholders in developing countries, and the expansion of credit in the rural areas of these countries, the majority still have only limited access to bank services to support their private initiatives (Braverman and Guasch, 1986). In the recent past, there has been an increased tendency to fund credit programmes in the developing countries aimed at small scale enterprises. In Kenya, despite emphasis on increasing the availability of credit to small and microenterprises (SMEs), access to credit by such enterprises remains one of the major constraints they face. Clercira December 21, 2016 Anatomy p: 5 Mr.McGarity The three organs I am doing research on are the spleen, gall bladder, and appendix. As the spleen playing a role part of the immune system such as the appendix, it is also involved in the digestive system with the gall bladder. The human spleen is located in the upper far left part of the abdomen which is also, on the left side of the stomach. The spleen comes in diverse shapes and sizes between different people, but it is most commonly shaped like a fist, violet colored, and approximately four inches long. The three diseases or disorders the spleen may receive are splenomegaly, ruptured spleen, and sickle cell. Splenomegaly, which is the enlarging of the spleen and which is usually caused by virus related mononucleosis, liver disease, and blood cancers such as, leukemia or even other conditions. Ruptured spleen causes life threatening, perpetual bleeding. It can rupture immediately after an injury or even or even days or weeks after the injury occurred. Sickle cell disease is originally from anemia, which is the abnormality of red cells blocking the flow of blood throw vessels and which may lead to organ damages. If you are anyone with sickle cell you will need to get immunizations, or a vaccine to help prevent illnesses that the spleen is helping to fight off. A treatment available for splenectomy is having the spleen removed by a surgical procedure. During this procedure you may either use laparoscopy, which is when you get several small cuts or, laparotomy when getting one large cut. The human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Big Society Volunteerism Company More than one hundred years ago, the American Society for the Control of Cancer (ASCC) was founded in New York City at a time when a cancer diagnosis meant certain death. The goal of the organization was to raise public awareness about the disease. Eventually, the name of the organization was changed to the American Cancer Society (ACS) and the mission evolved from solely awareness to also include research, programs, and fundraisers. The modern ACS is a nationwide, community based health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem, according to its website. Through its fundraising and community educating mechanisms, the society hopes to eradicate cancer and celebrate more birthdays. As one of the world s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Younger volunteers, like teenagers, are inspired to volunteer in order to gain benefits for a career. According to The Motivations to Volunteer: Theoretical and Practical Considerations, there are six main motives for volunteerism, and of the six the most important for young people besides career are values, understanding, and enhancement. A study of corporate volunteerism found that between one third to one half of the people participating who volunteered in their field improved in key areas of their job. The international study in Motivations, Death Anxiety, and Empathy in Hospice Volunteers in France shows that people with high death anxiety are less likely to succeed and less likely to stay committed to hospice volunteering. • 44. Music Is A Product Of Human Intention And Perception Essay Without the human intention, perception, and interpretation of sound, then the existence of music would be imaginary. Music includes talking words in a way that the person creates a sound that is made with the intention of being music (Deutsch, Diana 10 13, Justus Timothy., 33 40). Besides, people can perceive silence and soundand put them together so as to call the outcome music. In Bakan s fourth proposition, he identifies the approach as the Human Intention and Perception (HIP) approach (Resnicow, Joel E., 10 22). In other words, the proposition tries to suggest that music is inseparable from the makers; or more specifically the people who perceive and experience it. Bakan gives numerous examples to show that music is a product of human intention and perception. This paper conducts research and gives appropriate examples to show that music is only identified as music if the person is making it has the intention for their words to be music. To understand why music is a product of human intention and perception, we start by defining or understanding the nature of music. Music is defined as the sounds or combination of vocals and instruments in a way that it produces a form of beauty, expression, or harmony of emotions. Arguably, people compose or make music through many ways (Resnicow, Joel E., 20 29). While some people might compose music without incorporating instruments, others use instruments to produce beats that match with their sounds. However, to argue that the ... • 45. Joanne s Political Cartoon Analysis I found Joanne s political cartoon extremely relevant to current events and policy debates. The cartoon depicts a sheriff and a Texan standing in chest deep water. In the background are farm animals huddled on the top of a roof in order to prevent drowning, and a large billboard allowing the audience to know the setting is in TEXAS . However, the most vital part of the cartoon is the sheriff s line above him, It s not global warming. This water s cold, which parallels the steady position of the Republican party on climate change. Even when the water is about to flood both individuals, the Texas sheriff is solid in his claim against global warming and will not budge. This sentiment against climate protection has evolved over the years. Over ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. African Americans And African American Culture Based on my life experiences, the characteristics described by McNamara and Burns (2009) were essentially consistent with my experiences and perception of the African American culture. One common characteristic is that African Americans are much more likely to live in poverty and poverty stricken areas than White Americans (McNamara Burns, 2009). What I have learned it is not as simple as African Americans are poorer than White Americans. While the statement is true, it is simplistic. There are many reasons and. causes for the disparity in wealth and income between African Americans and White American. One explanation given by McNamara and Burns (2009) is that African Americans lived in slavery for over two centuries in what is now the United States. This is one cause, but to rely on this as the reason for the disparity is simplistic. Slavery was outlawed only to be replaced by discrimination against African Americans (McNamara Burns, 2009). While the law changed, the attitudes of people did not. No law can force how a person thinks. The attitudes of White Americans continued to see African Americans are having less rights than White Americans (Williams, n.d.). This was especially true in the South where in the majority of the states slavery was legal (McNamara Burns, 2009). The attitudes and discrimination are still evident today in all areas of life. • 48. A Better Safer Alternative Treatment The word cancer strikes fear into the hearts of many people and their loved ones. Millions of people are diagnosed every year and they put their full trust into their doctors to make the best decisions and offer the most effective treatment. However people tend to be more frightened of the treatment itself because traditional cancertherapies produce scary symptoms such as vomiting, pain, and hair loss. The treatments leave patients feeling extremely weak and fatigued. Most patients believe that these drug treatments are the best and only option to cure them. There is a better safer alternative treatment that the FDA might be hiding from the public. This alternative treatment is called amygdalin although it is also known under the term the... On the opposing side people claim that the cyanide in amygdalin is dangerous and unsuccessful in treating and curing cancer. However the amount in the seeds is so small that it would not produce any harm and the fact that it is enclosed makes it safe. The medical drug treatments are far more dangerous and have the ability to kill a person in certain doses. According to the PLOS ONE medical journal article Amygdalin Blocks Bladder Cancer cell Growth In Vitro by Diminishing Cyclin A and cdk2 even though people opposed to amygdalin claim that the cyanide content in the seed is not effective, unsafe, and toxic none of these claims have been not been observed in any of the treated patients. (page 1 paragraph 4.) According to their study amygdalin caused a complete cure in 40.5% of people and relieved symptoms in 22.9% of people, from the 368 people treated. This means that a large number of people were cured something a medical treatment cannot do. Medical drugs only put people into a cancer free state called remission. This remission period can last 5 years or 10 years before the disease returns. Thus it is a band aid fix to the problem. And to make matters worse chemotherapy drugs and radiation only provide relief in late stages of cancer and do not provide prolonged life in most cases. Amygdalin found in natural seeds is ... • 49. A Research On European Banking Regulations And Their... The following paper attempts to address the need for future research as mentioned in part A. European Banks are not required to hold a capital buffer against the sovereign debt holding of any European state, regardless of the risk involved. As a result European governments had issued excessive debt, taking advantage of a sovereign subsidy of other EU member states in the form of the 0 risk weight for their MFI. If such a risk finally materialises, MFI will be left undercapitalised because they do not hold a capital buffer for their sovereign exposure. Therefore 0 risk represents a channel, through which sovereign risk can extend to any EU member state. Thus, the focus of the paper is to develop a new measure that quantifies the banks risk... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To support Korte and Steffen s empirical analysis there are Bolton and Jeanne (2011), who argue how financial integration may lead to ex post contagion and oversupply of risky sovereign debt. Further, Acharya et al. (2014) develop a model, which sees banks overleveraged because they invest too much in low risk weighted instead of diversifying the risk. Korte and Steffen build on this model to develop their hypothesis for the research paper. Korte and Steffen incorporate two streams of literature, which are important to give evidence on how risk weight regulation impairs financial stability in the Eurozone. The first stream focuses on both determinants and interdependence of sovereign risk. These are Duffie et al. (2003); Bolton and Jeanne (2011); Barth et al. (2012); Acharya, Drechsler, and Schnabl (2014). Examples are: Ang and Longstaff (2013), evaluates the co movement of sovereign default risk. Chen (2013), finds that financial linkages likely provide a channel for sovereign risk spillovers. Kallestrup et al (2013), evaluates how banking sector variables, such as cross border exposure amplify the effect, that non domestic sovereign has on domestic sovereign risk. • 50. Strategic Planning Requires Hard Work And Dedication Strategic planning requires hard work and dedication. Nothing can be effectively executed without a plan of action in place. Blankstein (2004) states that: Addressing the core beliefs of an entire school community is a lengthy process. It is essential to be sure to hold the line on behaviors and language that may conflict with organizational values and mission. Without at least commitment to behavior that supports the school values and mission, the fundamental aspect of any school values and mission that all students will learn will become invalid (p. 115). The Henderson County Public Schools in North Carolina strategic plan is a thirty seven page instrument addressing five major goals with subset goal descriptors under each. Henderson County School goals are: (1) Focus on every child; (2) Prepare students to be globally competitive in the 21st century; (3) Provide an effective teaching and learning environment; (4) Focus on building positive community relationships; and (5) Maintain safe, quality energy efficient facilities.
