Each year WCC recognizes the efforts and many successes of it's members for reducing their dependence on petroleum-based fuels, implementing alternative fuel vehicles and infrastructure, and for helping improve our air quality. Also, this year we will be recognizing our Wisconsin Smart Fleet partners and celebrating our 20th year as a coalition!

1. Forwarding Wisconsin’s Fuel Choice
US Department of Energy two-year grant program designed to implement policy, barrier reduction, training, and educational initiatives to significantly expand the alternative fuels market in Wisconsin.
Forwarding Wisconsin's Fuel Choice will accomplish the following:
•Develop and launch a Wisconsin Smart Fleet Program;
•Recommend new laws and incentives related to alternative fuel, vehicles and, infrastructure;
•Work directly with public and private fleets to implement policies, such as employee incentive programs and model ordinance language;
•Expand highway road signage to include alternative fuels available at exits along major thoroughfares;
•Educate and consult with fuel retailers and distributors to create solutions for challenges they face for dispensing alternative fuels;
•Partner with the Wisconsin Technical College System to build on their existing safety and training courses, and offer training sessions to first responders public safety officers, construction permitting officials, and other appropriate audiences.

Internal Incentives: Green Vehicle Purchasing Policy, Car sharing/carpooling program, Kwik Trip gift cards for employees switching to CNG
Goals: Improve records through electronic systems, Convert to 100% CNG by the end of 2015

Goals: Reduce operating costs by 10%, Convert Michigan fleet to propane

Best Practices: Idle Reduction Training, Eco-Driving Training, Route Optimization, Alternatively Powered Non-road Vehicles
Goals: Purchase more CNG vehicles over the next 5 years

Best Practices: Alternative powered non-road vehicles, GPS tracking, Route optimization, Non- motorized locomotion, Telecommute/car sharing, Idle reduction training, Eco-driving training, Green policy using landfill gas, Green purchase policy, Green vehicle purchase policy, Car sharing/carpooling program, Preferred parking
Goals: 100% of the fleet to be a dedicated alternative fuel, 90% of the fuel used by the fleet to be alternative fuel
