The AAFP is advocating to Congress on three key issues during the debt ceiling negotiations: repealing the SGR, protecting graduate medical education funding, and passing increased funding for Title VII and Section 747 programs. The AAFP is urging family physicians to contact their representatives through videos, emails, online content, and social media to repeal the SGR and set payment rates for primary care, protect GME funding, and increase funding for workforce programs. So far over 1000 members have sent 1800 letters to Congress through the AAFP's grassroots advocacy campaign.
