Feedback By flickr user karl horton
Feedback “… it allows more people to get in discussions they wouldn’t normally do in front of class.” “… Here we can get our assignments at any time: at home or in school, we can communicate with other classmates outside of school and in school…” and “…I like that we can post our work, review others for resources and ask questions when we don’t understand. It is also a great way to keep up with the class when you are sick or on vacation.”

Important points: My community helps me learn. Kids need a community too that can extend beyond the classroom If students understand why this is important, they will buy into it There will always be something we don’t understand. It is more important that students recognize that we are always learning vs. we know a lot Patience
Think beyond content Thinking and process is the goal Difficult to be authentic for every topic Be available for opportunities of change to differentiate instruction It is not about the technology: these are tools that allow us to teach differently Learning happens from reflection
Challenges Changing activities – decide what to keep, change, and what needs to be new Measuring outcomes Choice of outcomes NCLB and standardized testing Decide your goal first
Thank you
