But what are the results your business should expect from cloud adoption? What are the keys to making it work? What are the pitfalls you should avoid?
In this talk driven by our experience working with cloud adopters, we'll show that successfully adopting Cloud is a process that actively involves IT and business units, and we’ll be sure to consider and reconcile both perspectives.
This is a talk 100% driven by customer stories, delivered by Sebastian Stadil for the December 3rd 2013 Virtual Build a Cloud Day event.

Open source summit 2017: It's not about your features: Navigating Open Source...Dormain Drewitz
Building an open source-based software business is hard these days. Some say it's impossible. Entrepreneurs face a war on two fronts: free and cloud-provider services. Is there room in the market to carve out a business based on open source?
In an effort to differentiate, many entrepreneurs focus on building more and more capability features. They tick functionality boxes to extend into more market categories and grow the TAM, but it’s a red herring. They risk losing sight of what customers actually need - and will pay for - namely convenience.
In this talk, former investment analyst, Dormain Drewitz, will provide some shortcuts identifying product-market fit. She will explain the implications and opportunities of cloud-neutral platforms on OSS packaging. Finally, she will give some examples of open source-based companies that are succeeding with these strategies.

As more and more people are coming to realize, there is far more to living a truly successful life than just earning a bigger salary and capturing a corner office. Our relentless pursuit of the two traditional metrics of success - money and power - has led to an epidemic of burnout and stress-related illnesses, and an erosion in the quality of our relationships, family life, and, ironically, our careers. In being connected to the world 24/7, we're losing our connection to what truly matters.
Drawing on the latest groundbreaking research and scientific findings in the fields of psychology, sports, sleep, and physiology that show the profound and transformative effects of meditation, mindfulness, unplugging, and giving, I show us the way to a revolution in our culture, our thinking, our workplace, and our lives.

How to Make Your Move to the Cloud with ConfidenceCloud Spectator
Choosing the right Cloud provider is crucial to the success of your organization. The stability and performance of critical applications; and infrastructure cost management are two of the most pressing concerns for the modern CIO. But selecting the right IaaS provider can be a daunting task, especially considering that price-performance of seemingly similar VM's between providers varies so dramatically.
Because of price and performance discrepancies throughout the industry, you run the risk of grossly over-paying for your infrastructure. Learn how Cloud benchmarking of your applications on the leading Cloud providers can ensure that you're not overpaying for your services. Find out how we helped a client in the Oil and Gas industry save over $1.8M per year in infrastructure costs (a 47% savings) by identifying the actual projected cost of running their applications on the shortlist of providers.
Use cloud performance benchmarking to help you select the right Cloud provider for your specific workloads, or risk the possibility of over-spending on under-performing servers.

“Prior to our purchasing Ektron some five years ago, pretty much everything had to go through the IT organization, IT had outsourced the website to a third party, and so content update requests went to them and then the third party. Essentially, a bottle-neck within a bottle-neck. Our CIO gave me the task of bringing the website in-house using a content management system. As our budget was relatively small, I first started looking for open source solutions. But as I continued my research I discovered Ektron and priced the value, and found it to be the most cost-effective solution.”

how to sell pi coins in South Korea profitably.DOT TECH
Yes. You can sell your pi network coins in South Korea or any other country, by finding a verified pi merchant
What is a verified pi merchant?
Since pi network is not launched yet on any exchange, the only way you can sell pi coins is by selling to a verified pi merchant, and this is because pi network is not launched yet on any exchange and no pre-sale or ico offerings Is done on pi.
Since there is no pre-sale, the only way exchanges can get pi is by buying from miners. So a pi merchant facilitates these transactions by acting as a bridge for both transactions.
How can i find a pi vendor/merchant?
Well for those who haven't traded with a pi merchant or who don't already have one. I will leave the what'sapp number of my personal pi merchant who i trade pi with.

Speaking Points:There is a lot of talk in the industry about different terms like Platform as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service, and Software as a Service.Since PDC08 when we first announced the Windows Azure our focus has been on delivering a platform as a service offering where you can build applications. Where the platform abstracts you from the complexities of building and running applications. We fundamentally believe that the future path forward for development is by providing a platform. In fact, as you’ll see in a few minutes, we believe that there are a number of new capabilities that should be delivered as services to the platform.Notes:There is a lot of confusion in the industry when it comes to the cloud. It’s important that you understand both what is happening in the industry and how we think about the cloud. This is the most commonly used taxonomy for differentiating between types of cloud services. The industry has defined three categories of services:IaaS – a set of infrastructure level capabilities such as an operating system, network connectivity, etc. that are delivered as pay for use services and can be used to host applications. PaaS – higher level sets of functionality that are delivered as consumable services for developers who are building applications. PaaS is about abstracting developers from the underlying infrastructure to enable applications to quickly be composed. SaaS – applications that are delivered using a service delivery model where organizations can simply consume and use the application. Typically an organization would pay for the use of the application or the application could be monetized through ad revenue. It is important to note that these 3 types of services may exist independently of one another or combined with one another. SaaS offerings needn’t be developed upon PaaS offerings although solutions built on PaaS offerings are often delivered as SaaS. PaaS offerings also needn’t expose IaaS and there’s more to PaaS than just running platforms on IaaS. ----Slide Objectives:Explain the three established terms in the industry for cloud servicesSpeaking Points:With this in mind, it’s important to understand how to talk about our Cloud Services offerings. There is a lot of confusion in the industry when it comes to the cloud. Slide Objectives:Explain the differences and relationship between IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS in more detail.Speaking Points:Here’s another way to look at the cloud services taxonomy and how this taxonomy maps to the components in an IT infrastructure. Packaged SoftwareWith packaged software a customer would be responsible for managing the entire stack – ranging from the network connectivity to the applications. IaaSWith Infrastructure as a Service, the lower levels of the stack are managed by a vendor. Some of these components can be provided by traditional hosters – in fact most of them have moved to having a virtualized offering. Very few actually provide an OSThe customer is still responsible for managing the OS through the Applications. For the developer, an obvious benefit with IaaS is that it frees the developer from many concerns when provisioning physical or virtual machines. This was one of the earliest and primary use cases for Amazon Web Services Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2). Developers were able to readily provision virtual machines (AMIs) on EC2, develop and test solutions and, often, run the results ‘in production’. The only requirement was a credit card to pay for the services.PaaSWith Platform as a Service, everything from the network connectivity through the runtime is provided and managed by the platform vendor. The Windows Azure best fits in this category today. In fact because we don’t provide access to the underlying virtualization or operating system today, we’re often referred to as not providing IaaS.PaaS offerings further reduce the developer burden by additionally supporting the platform runtime and related application services. With PaaS, the developer can, almost immediately, begin creating the business logic for an application. Potentially, the increases in productivity are considerable and, because the hardware and operational aspects of the cloud platform are also managed by the cloud platform provider, applications can quickly be taken from an idea to reality very quickly.SaaSFinally, with SaaS, a vendor provides the application and abstracts you from all of the underlying components.
