LogDNA and CloudFoundry Webinar: Open Ecosystems, Interoperability + Multi-Cl...LogDNA
How do you stay up to date in order to build on-premise and cloud offerings deployable anywhere at any time with high availability, regardless of region or cloud provider?
Taking your first steps in the cloud shouldn't be a rush affair. Instead, you should have a detailed plan for your cloud adventure, and it should be tailored to your specific business goals. But what elements do you need in a plan? What should you expect from the cloud and the migration process? All of these are questions organizations face at the beginning of their cloud journey, and HOSTING is familiar with every one.
If you want to get things done and have your project up-and-running in no time, then you might want to take a look at Microsoft Azure. For PHP apps it's easy to set up and get going.

By 2020, a corporate "no-cloud" policy will be as rare as a "no-internet" policy is today, according to Gartner, Inc. While cloud makes enterprises more flexible and agile, various cloud adoption scenarios such as hybrid cloud, infrastructure modernization and cloud based analytics present a few challenges of their own.
Attend this session to learn:
• Challenges involved with various cloud adoption scenarios
• How data virtualization solves cloud adoption challenges while centralizing data governance and security mechanism
• How companies are using data virtualization to tackle complex modern customer segmentation problems such as “customer genomics”
Agenda:
• Challenges of cloud adoption
• Data virtualization to the rescue

Complex Analytics with NoSQL Data Store in Real TimeNati Shalom
NOSQL are often limited in the type of queries that they can support due to the distributed nature of the data. In this session we would learn patterns on how we can overcome this limitation and combine multiple query semantics with NoSQL based engines.
We will demonstrate specifically a combination of key/value, SQL like, Document model and Graph based queries as well as more advanced topic such as handling partial update and query through projection. We will also demonstrate how we can create a meshaup between those API's i.e. write fast through Key/Value API and execute complex queries on that same data through SQL query.

Best Practices for Cloud Managed Services Providers: The Path to CMP SuccessRightScale
Managed services providers (MSPs) and other IT services providers offering managed services across multiple clouds use a cloud management platform (CMP) as a foundational technology. But what are the best practices for MSPs to leverage a CMP for success with end customers? MSPs need to implement appropriate account hierarchies, tagging strategies, cost management practices, templating and automation approaches, and DevOps processes.
A cloud management platform (CMP) is fast becoming a de facto requirement for enterprises pursuing a multi-cloud or hybrid cloud strategy. But what should you be looking for in a CMP? Many companies make the mistake of taking a “boil the ocean” approach to a CMP evaluation. We’ll share best practices and discuss whether you need an RFP.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
