Electronic marketing, or e-marketing, is the application of traditional marketing principles and techniques through digital channels. Some common e-marketing strategies include search engine optimization, social media marketing, email marketing, and online networking. While e-marketing allows for extensive reach, high customer appeal, and easy measurement of results, its disadvantages include lack of physical presence, security concerns, and high advertising costs. E-marketing is still developing and not widely used in Sri Lanka due to lack of knowledge, budget constraints, cultural factors, and overreliance on social media marketing alone.
