Bandura Avenue Observation
On the above date I responded to 6015 Bandura Avenue (the City Well Field), reference a criminal
mischief. While en route, dispatch advised me that Captain Barcelo wanted a report taken for a
possible criminal mischief. Upon arrival, I made contact with Sgt. Lush and City Public Works
Supervisor, Chris. Chris advised me that a portion of the security fence had been torn down, possibly
by an unknown person or persons. Chris advised that he noticed that the portion of fence was missing
on this day. I observed the area in which the fence was torn down. There was a trail directly behind
where the missing portion of the fence was missing. The trail lead West to the are of Leo Kidd

Tanglewood Case 1
TangleWood Case One
To: Donald Penchiala, the Director of Staffing Services
REE: Tanglewood Retail Case
Date: July 18th, 2010
Every business in the global market has to have some sort of staffing strategy in order to be
successful. Tanglewood Retail store is one of the big and puplor retailers among 12 regions locally
and ovbersees. After I examined the report that you provide me with, I have analyized the stafffing
strategy decisions as below with my recommindiation.

National or Global:
Tanglewood is a retail store known all over the regions and over seas. Each region enjoys its own
culture and values, which distinguishes from others. The pattern and the process of Tanglewood has to
be similar, however, internal department methods will run depending on the regions culture. On page
12 of the Tanglewood case book its states that If you tell someone exactly what to do, you re only
getting half an employee. If your given someone the space to make their own decisions, your getting a
whole person . I encourage this philosophy to be spread and worked with among all the regions.
Tanglewood like other stores has the same tools, clothing, equipment, electronics and much more.
These retailers have to be engage in both over seas out sourcing and off shoring by hiring high tech
and talented, sufficient employees to deal with this globally and locally that will help Tanglewood
reach and exceed competitive levels among others.
Attract or Locate:
The main idea that most of the organization is following to be more succesful that is to bring labor to a
company rather then taking the company to the labor. Tanglewood retailers, have to establish locations
closer to their distributers, this is because Tanglewood has 12 geographic regions and 20 stores per
region. This means the regional managers have little experience on how HR runs throughout the 20
stores. Tanglewood needs external and internal training for these

Contrast the Significance of the Term Lead Time in the...
Question 1 Contrast the significance of the term lead time in the traditional EOQ context and in an
MRP system.
In the traditional context, lead time is fixed either as a discrete time or as a probability distribution.
Such lead time constancy or variation is outside of the inventory model. Lead time in an MRP system
is assumed to be a variable. While specific lead times are stated for planning purposes, these times
may be speeded up or delayed as conditions warrant. Indeed, it is this ability to detect needed changes
in lead times, either by expediting or de expediting, that many users cite as one of the most valuable
features of MRP.
MRP has had some degree of success in environments where requirements are relatively certain and ...

Raw materials must be kept as inventory stock. As they are used, stock must be replenished through
reordering MRP fulfils 3 main functions: 1. MRP makes sure that dependent demand items are kept in
stock. 2. MRP maintains the optimal level of inventory that is most cost effective for a company. 3.
MRP us used to purchase new stock, deliver finished products, and plan the daily manufacturing
processes.
MRP is effective due to it working backwards from a plan for producing finished products in order to
develop the amount of raw materials that a company needs. How this works is MRP breaks down
inventory requirements into separate stages. This helps to manage production and keep it flowing at an
even level. It also helps to keep inventory costs to a minimum.
The drawback is that MRP systems can be expensive to implement and the costs can be quite high,
offsetting the amount of money that a company could save in inventory costs. Larger companies that
produce large volumes of finished products may find it beneficial but the same may not be true for
smaller companies. Plus, for MRP to produce accurate results, you need to have accurate data.
Information such as orders, bills, item numbers and records must be accurate or the results will be off.
To get results, you have to input information into the MRP system. There are 3 main sources of
information for input: 1. Bill of sale for materials 2. A

Mind and Hamlet
An admirable text does not define or exhaust its possibilities . What possibilities do you see in
Shakespeare s Hamlet? Discuss your ideas with close reference to at least two scenes from Hamlet.
Shakespeare s texts have been re visited, re interpreted and re invented to suit the context and
preferences of an evolving audience, and it through this constant recreation it is evident that Hamlet
does not define or exhaust its possibilities . Through the creation of a character who emulates a variety
of different themes, such as revenge, realisation of reality and the questioning of humanity, we can see
the different possibilities within Hamlet as an admirable text with enduring human value.
Furthermore, the emotional journey of Hamlet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A more definitive reading of Hamlet disputes the claim that he was mad, and instead suggests that
Hamlet feigns madness in order to become closer to the truth. This reading is an example of
Shakespeare demonstrating the changing context in Denmark through the projection of the protagonist
as an extended metaphor for the emerging Renaissance Humanism period. This period was defined by
choice and analysis of events, and is emulated through Hamlet s alliterated statement in his soliloquy
in Scene 3, Act 1, conscience makes cowards of us all. Hamlet believes he is in a psychological state
of cowardice, and that his conscience is holding him back through his assessment of the consequences
of acting on the orders of the ghost. L.C. Knight believes Hamlet is the exploration and implicit
criticism of a particular state of mind or consciousness . This questioning on the theme of humanity
and the final stage in Hamlet s complex thought process is finally resolved in the soliloquy in Scene 4,
Act 3. Hamlet s characterisation, once that of a pure man whose mind was riddled with angst at the
idea of murder shifts to a mind of bloody thoughts as a result of his bound duty. This personified
imagery is a reflection of Hamlet s now tainted mind since the murder of Polonius, and the constant
obsession with Claudius murder. Hamlet accuses himself of thinking too precisely , and

1 Corinthians 13 Research Paper
One of the most common things that is celebrated is love. We have marriage ceremonies centered
around our love for our partner; we have special days such as Valentine s Day to show our
appreciation for others; and we have songs about our loved ones. Almost all of the things we do are
ways for humans to dedicate their life to love. In the New International Version of the Bible love is
stated about five hundred and fifty times. One of the most memorable references of love in the Bible is
one that is commonly read at sacred marriage ceremonies and is frequently quoted in captions on
social media. The verse mentioned is 1 Corinthians 13. In verses one through three of 1 Corinthians, it
is said that without love we are worthless. For example, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nash said that the very qualities of love that he [Paul] enumerated stood in clear contrast to their
[Corinthians] own behavior (Nash 386). This contrast can be true to this day as well with most people

gift and the way of love transcends the pursuit of individual fulfillment and leads to true community
(Nash 386). The main point that Nash was trying to get across what that Paul showed a preference for
verbs rather than adjectives in order to enumerate the point that love is not simply a feeling; it is a
lifestyle, love involves action which is defined by the cross of Christ (Nash 386). The purpose of 1
Corinthians is for the audience to take action with God because of the love the audience has for him.
The audience is meant to be moved emotionally through love so they can act upon that love for the
better of the community. Love is the way to become fulfilled and can be done perfectly through

Lucy Snowe Quotes
So, Lucy turns M. Paul s use of the gaze back onto him, and it turns because instead of her being
caught starring, rather it is him that is caught spying on her: Provoked at this particular, and yet please
to surprise him pleased, that is, with the mixed feeling of the housewife who discovers at last her
strange elfin ally busy in the dairy at the untimely churn I softly stole forward, stood behind him, bent
with precaution over his shoulder (381). The act of viewing someone while they are not aware is also
a power move, and one that M. Paul has been employing in order to try and discover Lucy s identity:
To see is to know, and to know is to have power particularly, as the novel implies throughout, the
power to reform (Shaw 814). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the book, M. Paul and Mme. Beck take on the lead roles in spying on other characters for their own
benefit. Not only are the students subjected to being watched, but teachers as well. Lucy Snowe
becomes a victim of spying by both M. Paul and Beck. In turn, she is also subjected to the male gaze,
not only by M. Paul, but also particularly by Graham who subjects most women to his masculine gaze.
However, Lucy does not let herself be pushed into revealing information she wishes to keep
confidential. She uses her gaze and surveying to flip the stereotypes and expectations for the Victorian
woman. Instead of remaining silent and ignorant in her role as a teacher, Lucy uses her ability to
watch and survey to gather information and use newfound knowledge to learn about how to go against
female repression and the male gaze. From this knowledge, Lucy earns her autonomy. She is able to
speak her mind when she deems it necessary without compromising her own morals about her history.
She learns how to survive on her own, which gives her the necessary skills to survive after her fiancé
dies, providing readers with a satisfying ending that Lucy will be successful all on her

The Mariah Carey Christmas Special 2014
The concert that I have selected for my review is the Mariah Carey Christmas special 2014. The
concert took place on December 16 at the beacon theater in New York City and it lasted for
approximately an hour. The concert opened with a performance by a ballerina with classical music.
Then followed by the entrance of Mariah Carey, who was at the center of the stage. The visual of the
concert I have to say personally was amazing and impressive, it had a big Christmas tree in the back
and background with the stars and snowflakes hang from the ceilings, very Christmas like to me. Her
band was dressed in white; she had backup singers and a choir right behind her. She began her concert
with the famous Hark! The Herald Angels Sing / Gloria, personally I was moved by the way she sang
that song, it was moving, it provokes many emotions to me, however this is a song that has a lot of
high notes and it was very hard to hear her voice because she was not able to sing it the way she did.
Although she did not preform this song like she used to, I have to admit that it made me cry a little, it
such a beautiful song and even though she made have sang it under peach, I appreciated her voice and
she was still able to make the song her and put a lot of emotions to it. She seemed to be singing under
notes in other songs that she performed as well. The rhythm was very smooth and the melody was on
point, she was able to hit with a soft approach the lower pitches, however when it came to the high

this article is geared to more specifically psychologists. The article is written in the scientific method

Gas Price Fluctuation Analysis
A recent price shift that all American drivers have experienced is the constant fluctuations of gas
prices. As I turned 16 in 2013 gas prices were on the rise ranging from $3 $4 across the nation. For
many Americans it caused them to make economical decisions on what vehicle to buy taking on extra
jobs to pay for gas, cutting out vacations because of the high gas expense. During 2013 I would even
struggle filling up my dodge pickup every week and realizing how much money I was spending just
on gas. However, in 2016 prices have decreased to $1 $2 dollars. If we look back on the history of gas
prices we can analyze that reason gas prices change so often is based on the amount of crude oil. Since
oil is the main input for producing gasoline, so if there is a rise in oil price than gasoline price must
rise as well. Many factors go into affecting gas prices, but one example in particular is the detriment of

One product in Arkansas that is always on high demand are yeti cups. Many stores sell out the first
day they get shipments in causing customers to visit many stores to find the product. A shortage of
product is defined as the amount by which the quantity of demand of a product exceeds the quantity
supplied at a particular price. If I were a manager store where I experienced a shortage of a high
demand item, such as a yeti cup, I would find a different producer or multiple producer to supply the
store with that product. For example since the yeti cup there have been many similar stainless steal
cups that have been produced. These cups are usually a lower price and have a different brand name,
and design. By brining in a yeti competitor this will drive the demand of the Yeti cup down.
Consumers will begin to buy what is available which will satisfy them decreasing the supply for the
yeti and eventually benefit the store because these consumers are buying form us instead of looking

Impact Of Globalisation On Higher Education
Globalisation is the evolution of society which affect human life, education is one of those, especially
in postgraduate degrees which receive the most influence from globalisation. The development in
technologies and communication have produced a shift in learning system which affect cultures and
national economic growth. Higher education systems has been transformed by globalisation, which is
the widening, deepening and speeding up of worldwide interconnectedness (Held et al., 1999, p.14).
When examining the impact of globalisation on higher education all over the world, the positive and
negative aspects of this phenomenon have been widely mentioned. Some writers argue that
globalisation has the destructive effect to the postgraduate system in developing nations and non
English speaking developed nations (Marginson, 2006). Although the downsides of globalisation to
higher education remain highly controversial, the occurrence of this phenomenon could significantly
encourage national universities and governments to develop their standard of higher education which
will benefit to students (Damme, 2001). Globalisation could increase cultural exchange and
multicultural reality as well. This article sets out to analyse critically the overview of globalisation and
how it has valuable effects to higher education in long terms.
There are a large number of definitions for Globalisation which could have different meaning for
different people. According to Knight (2001), it

It Is Imperative For Guide Angela Into Talking By Angela...
It is imperative to guide Angela into talking. This involves listening to the whole story and retelling
the story to Angela of what was heard by her telling the story. Time guiding the conversation to aid
Angela in understanding that the grief process is also a healing process. Guiding also include
instruction and information, but it is aimed much less at acquiring than restoring restoring the
parishioner s soul, thus becoming more of her true self again.
One of the other issue Pastor Bob needs to address is the congregation and their concerns and
emotions dealing with the situation. There is evidence that they are creating triangles by talking
among themselves. They seem to be justifying the death being cause by Angela s possible drinking
and lack of being present when the water swept her son into the current. Triangles are created more
frequently and cause great damage when anxiety increases in a system. There is certainly anxiety in
this case study in reference to the death of a child.
The second case study addressed in this paper is Die or Dialysis found on pages 83 85 of the Wood

Why Pharmacy Is A Chemistry And Biology

STDEV 170

Pharmacy
Pharmacy is a chemistry and biology orientated health profession that requires great attention to detail
and also good oral and written communication skills. I would enjoy a career in pharmacy because it
combines the two subjects that I enjoy most: chemistry and biology. This profession would also give
me the opportunity to help other people every day. Pharmacy does require several years of schooling,
however, in the long run it pays off very well. Out of all the health professions available, pharmacy
interests me the most.
Job description:
Pharmacists do much more than simply fill prescriptions. They can advise patients about a healthy
diet, ensure that prescribed medication does not conflict negatively with other medications that a
patient is taking, and can even give flu shots. Pharmacists also regularly instruct patients on when and
how to take their medication, coordinate with insurance companies about prescribed medication, and
oversee the pharmacy technicians and interns ( Pharmacists. U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).
There are four different types of pharmacists: community pharmacists, clinical pharmacists, consultant
pharmacists, and pharmaceutical industry pharmacists. Community pharmacists work in chain drug
stores, and some even run their own pharmacy. They give prescribed medication to patients, and give
advice and occasionally flu shots to them as well. Clinical pharmacists are much different. They

The first one was during the bear markets of early 2000s (from 2000 to 2002) caused by the crisis of

are adjusted to capture dividends payments, in order to be consistent, we are going to SPY as the
benchmark in our analysis of LMVTX while SPY is a tradable security that matches the S P500
returns and captures the dividends paid. Performance Measurement Highest Return Least Risk To
measure the investment performance, both return and risk should be considered. That is, we use the
adjusted returns for risk to do the evaluation. For the Bill Miller s Value Trust, the appropriate
measures are the Sharpe ratio and the M square, since the LMVTX and SPY represents the entire risky
investment. Other measurements, such as Treynor measure, Jensen s alpha, information ratio, Sortino
ratio and Sterling ratio can also be used as reference. We use a long observation period, from 1995 to
2012, to measure performance to achieve the precision. The good performance means make the most
money with the least risk. For active funds, like LMVTX, good performance particular means that the
fund outperform the market (SPY) or has achieved excess returns. For instance, from 1995 2005, the
average return and Sharpe ratio of LMVTX surpassed those measures of the market, which is
considered as a good performance. While from 2006 to 2012, the return and Sharpe ratio of LMVTX

The Use Of Biologics And Medical Devices Should Be Strict
The level of regulation governed by the FDA over drugs, biologics medical devices is a widely
debated topic. In my point of view, the level of regulation on drugs, biologics and medical devices
should be strict. The current regulations governed by the FDA are very strict and should remain that
way because the base of these regulations are underlined by various tragedies which we don t want to
be repeated. For instance, the thalidomide incident in which many children were born with
Phocomelia (shortening or absence of limbs). Thalidomide, which started as an OTC drug in 1957 as a
remedy for sleeplessness was later found to have off label effects such as mitigation of morning
sickness in pregnant women. Hence was then prescribed worldwide to pregnant women. However, in
1962 Frances Kelsey prevented the approval of this drug in the USA. This resulted in Harris Kefauver
Amendment in 1962 which tightened the investigation and approval of drugs requiring the
manufacturers to prove their safety and efficacy. Many incidents could be avoided in the past if the
regulations were firm and so there is an utter necessity of governing bodies for oversight of clinical
trials, new drug development and manufacturing of drugs, biologics and medical devices. Many of
these unfortunate events were mishaps, but there are many such incidents which are the result of greed
and corruption leading to adulteration of drugs, cosmetics and food products. Until the 19th century

What Is The Value Of Life
Throughout our lives we are categorized into social classes, scrutinized and judged by others. With the
constant influences of others and society within our lives, it becomes hard to determine our purpose in
life and how our decisions will not only affect us but those around us. As stated in the bible, Human
life is a sacred essence, bequeathed to those who are made in the very image of the creator himself
(Genesis 1:26 27). The value of life is not determined by the materials that we may contain or social
status. It is what comes from within your heart; rather than being preoccupied about what society
thinks, we should be living to our fullest and making a difference within the world for tomorrow may
not be promised.
In today s day and age, many people have become self consumed rather than trying to make a good
impact in other s lives. As Albert Einstein once stated The value of a man should be seen in what he
gives and not what he is able to receive (Albert Einstein Quotes. BrainyQuote. Xplore, n.d. Web. 12
July 2017). Orson Scotts Ender s Game, is a good representation of the value of life because Ender
whom is a young child, sacrifices his life by enrolling into a military school in order to protect his
country as well as his loved ones. Throughout Ender s Game, Ender and a group of other young
children are picked by the government to be enrolled into a military school to be trained to battle in a

Analysis Of Historia De Una Escalera And Nada
Historia de una Escalera and Nada depict the realities of life under Franco very realistically. Though
the characters themselves are fictional, their situations are very real. Both works highlight the harsh
realities of poverty and classism. Andrea s friendship with Ena and her experience at Pons party
showcase the difference in quality of life between the rich and the poor in Spain. The rich characters
have no idea what the life of the lower class is like. Pons and Ena both completely fail to understand
what Andrea goes through daily. Ena even goes so far as to say she wishes she were poor like Andrea.
Andrea describe her family s apartment as a nightmarish hellscape, she spends most of her time on the
verge of starvation, and hardly a day goes by without a violent incident taking place in her home.
Because of this, Andrea attempts to completely separate herself from her family and her class; she
spends most of her time at Ena s and Guíxols . She is happiest when she is with these people who
often fail to understand her.
The class distinction in Historia de una Escalera is less present, but when it does appear it is much
more dramatic. The rich are shown to consider the residents of the apartment building as subhuman. In
the final act two wealthy, well dressed men discuss how to make the building habitable again. The talk
about repainting and disinfecting the apartments. All they need is for the old residents to die. Then the
building, can start accepting

example in source 2 it states, Dr Belmain says that, when the rats come, some people simply do not
bother planting crops. They just accept that it is pointless. The quote is showing how farmers and
citizens are lowering the usage of food by not producing it. By using this method, it causes there to be
no food for the rats to come after. To sum it up, preventing rat infestations is possible and the society

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as: protecting children from

Summary Of The Night Circus, By Erin Morgenstern
The Night Circus written by Erin Morgenstern depicts the tale of two lovers bound by a challenge that
forces them to compete against each other. It was a romantic tale, from which the reader can develop a
strong sense of emotion with the two lovers. In this novel, Morgenstern uses the character Bailey to
demonstrate the ideas of love, passion vs obsession and standing up for yourself. Love is a very
influential idea in the story, without it Bailey wouldn t have taken over the circus. However, Bailey s
obsession with the circus makes him abandon his family. Additionally, Bailey would not take over the
circus without him finally standing up for himself. Morgenstern engages the reader with an exciting
storyline and uses a large range of language ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, from the earliest starting point to the end, characters are seen standing up for themselves. A
prominent example is when towards the end of the book, Bailey stands up for himself and his future.
With regards to Bailey s future, all his family is endeavouring to control his future. His grandma needs
him to head off to college, yet his father states he is taking control over the family farm and won t tune
in to anyone else. The easy thing to do would be to let the issue drop... Instead, and he is not entirely
certain why, he keeps the subject alive, bringing it up as often as possible. (Morgenstern 107) Despite
the fact that Bailey s dad won t tune in, Bailey continues pushing, winding up more forceful with what
he needs. In the end of the book Bailey goes to bat for himself and his future. When he is going out
with the goal to join the circus and is caught by his sister, he says, I don t care if you don t understand
that. Staying here won t make me happy. It will make you happy because you are insipid and boring,
and an insipid, boring life is enough for you. It s not enough for me. It will never be enough for me.
So, I m leaving. (Morgenstern 363) In this quote, Morgenstern uses repetition with the word it to
reinforce the importance of the message, build suspense and also stress the significance of the
message as this is a massive turning point in the story. In this passage Bailey

Sidney Love Sonnet
Valuing Power During the Elizabethan Era, the English thrived in the ways of culture. Literature,
poetry, theater, and music all saw tremendous advancement. Love sonnets became particularly popular
due to the opportunity they offered their authors to express their most alluring desires, while sticking
to the strict guidelines of a sonnet. One particular 16th century writer, Sir Philip Sidney, wrote love
sonnets that followed the relationship of the desire ridden Astrophil and the object of his affection,
Stella. Poetry at this time often had political or religious influences, and Sidney s work was no
exception. Focusing specifically on Sonnet 69, Sidney metaphorically relates a personal experience to
a political gain, suggesting that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was constant speculation over whether or not a woman was fit to rule, so a man no doubt would
have stolen not only her power, but the people s respect as well. In order to understand the political
agenda present in the sonnet, one must notice the power Elizabeth I would have lost with a marriage,
versus the power that Astrophil figuratively gained through obtaining Stella s love. In order for suitors
to gain power from either woman, the women had to have had power for them to acquire. Similar to
Queen Elizabeth, Stella is portrayed as a woman of power and appears to be highly sought after. Her
love was an indescribably, wonderful prize to the speaker, just as Queen Elizabeth s hand in marriage
would have been quite an accomplishment for any nobleman. Words such as nobler , kings , covenants
, and monarchs are all present in the poem, not only alluding to the political agenda present in the
work, but possibly Stella s societal position. Elizabeth I was showered with ravishing gifts and
compliments routinely by her courtiers. These men of her court sought to woo and impress the
unattainable queen. This need to grasp the queen s attention also pertains to the relationship between
writing love sonnets and court politics as a whole under Queen Elizabeth. The frustration that follows
loving someone and that love not being reciprocated was a vital aspect of much of the love poetry at
the time. This popular

What caused the Armenian Genocide? There were many reasons that could be tied to why the
Armenian Genocide happened, but there is no reason bigger than the fact that the Turkish Government
was unsatisfied with the religious state of the Armenians. The Armenians had established their

this was called the Young Turks. The Young Turks were a group that had taken control of Turkey.

Difference Between Cartoons And Cartoons With Body Language
How cartoons with subtitles and cartoons with body language contribute towards the language?
Cartoons are a very easy way of learning language. Surveys show that a person can learn different
dialects of the same language as well as different languages very easily through cartoons. Cartoons
have core vocabulary, basic grammar, and helpful pictures. Learning a foreign language has become
very important in today s world. There are lots of benefits to be reaped via becoming multilingual, and
therefore learning a foreign language should be encouraged specially amongst children. Learning a
foreign language from a very early age is far better because children are more receptive and they find
languages easier to pick up and understand. Simple cartoons such as Pokemon, Ben 10, Looney tunes
and Power puff Girls contribute a lot towards the learning of language by children.
A new concept of adding subtitles to many cartoons has been introduced which is a big step towards
enhancing learning of language, improvement in language and broadening the understanding of words

Argumentative Essay On Rohingya
Described as the world s most persecuted people, 1.1 million Rohingya people live in Myanmar. They
live predominately in Rakhine state, where they have co existed uneasily alongside Buddhists for
decades.Rohingya people say they are descendants of Muslims, perhaps Persian and Arab traders, who
came to Myanmar generations ago. Unlike the Buddhist community, they speak a language similar to
the Bengali dialect of Chittagong in Bangladesh.
The Rohingya are reviled by many in Myanmar as illegal immigrants and they suffer from systematic
discrimination. The Myanmar government treats them as stateless people, denying them citizenship.
Stringent restrictions have been placed on Rohingya people s freedom of movement, access to medical
assistance, education and other basic services.
Violence broke out in northern Rakhine state on 25 August, when militants attacked government
forces. In response, security forces supported by Buddhist military launched a clearance operation .
Refugees have spoken of massacres in villages, where they say soldiers raided and burned their
homes. The government claims the Rohingya have burned their own homes and killed Buddhists and
Hindus. It says that the military is targeting terrorists, including the Arakan RohingyaSalvation Army

Wine and the French Revolution
The popularity of wine in France continues to be a major mainstay in the French diet, just as it was
during the French Revolution. The French Revolution was a devastating time for the French
population; many lives were lost during the battle. France is known for, other than the revolution, their
production wine ( French Wine Culture ). Wine has an important role in their culture as well as their
position on the social ladder ( France ). Wine also has a symbolic role in their religion. Therefore,
France is a popular country for the making and producing of wine, and has the reputation as the
Mother Country ( French Wine Culture ). Receiving this title did not happen overnight; France has
been producing and manufacturing wine for a long period of time. Wine plays roles in many aspects of
their society. For example, wine reflects their heritage, region of birth, social status, and their health (
France ). Wine resembles the differences between regions and their national pride ( France ). Not only
does the region reflect their heritage but it also helps determine the name of the wine itself, as does the
vineyard they are grown in ( French Wines ). Most vineyards are very large. They typically cover a
good portion of the land, with the exception of the buildings that it is made in. Although France is
known at the mother country as a whole, there are still some regions that are more productive and
successful at making and distributing wine. Alsace, Beaujolais, and

My Dreams Of The American Dream
The wide field, brimmed primarily with yellow, sprouting, lush, wild flowers and tall green grass,
swayed gently in the crisp breeze. Deep within an abundance of towering pine trees, where the
bluebirds chirped and the frogs croaked, babbled a crooked creek. The air was filled with the smell of

my very own oasis where all of my childhood dreams were born. I dreamed of all my firsts , my first

Comparing Luhrman s Romeo And Juliet
The Shakespeare play Romeo and Juliet is one of the most famous of all time. Because this play is so
famous, there have been several Hollywood producers who have decided to recreate the play using
their own styles. One of those movies was directed by Baz Luhrman and was released in 1996 and
there is also a movie directed by Carlo Carlei which was released in 2013. Even though these two
movies were both based on the same play, they both have very different styles in all of the aspects of
the movie and also very similar styles. There are many ways that these two films are different from
one another. One of these differences is the deliveries of their lines. In the 1996 version, you notice
that the actors say their lines very swiftly. The lines are also very close to the lines in the actual play,
you could barely tell a difference. However, in the 2013 version the lines are delivered more calmly
and collected. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the play you picture the outfits they wear to be formal corset dresses and armour. They wear all of
these things in both movies. They also have very similar camera angles on the character in the scenes.

movies, the lines said by the characters are almost or fully accurate to the play itself that you can
barely even tell a difference in them. These are all significant because they help you better understand
the play of Romeo and Juliet and help you know more about the time periods. In conclusion, both of
these recreations of Romeo and Juliet definitely have their differences and similarities. Both of these
directors had a different vision of what their movies should look like and how to incorporate the ideas
of Shakespeare into their films. Even though they are both completely different they both are great
representations of the story and the characters

Essay about The Life of Bob Marley
The Life of Bob Marley
While reading Catch a Fire I discovered many things about Bob Marley and his spiritual influence on
the world. Not only just making records, Marley spoke to his people through his songs and took
advantage of the opportunities given to him as a musician.
Born on February 6, 1945, Robert Nesta Marley grew up in a small village in Jamaica called Nine
Miles, where he would shape his personality and early beliefs. His father Norval Marley, a white
Jamaican and a Captain in the Army, would also become inspirational to young Bob. When Bob was

On the evening of December 3, a number of gunmen arrived at Bob s house on 56 Hope Road and

Later in Jamaica, Bob once again received a request from the political leaders to perform a peace

Initially was really keen in getting the job because I was fed up of cleaning the wards for mediocre

I could improve a patient s memory (and therefore, decrease the risk of dementia). I tried to stay calm
throughout, however, I did feel like I mumbled a lot in my answers. However the Senior Sister insisted
that I worked on her ward (a stroke rehab), so I m glad I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was put down as I had just received my first decline from Huddersfield. It was worse when some
people had already said that they d received offers from other universities. Regardless, I decided to
give it my best shot. I arrived with plenty of time to spare, as well as having a healthy breakfast. The
day started with a presentation on the University in general followed by a presentation on Child
Nursing. The group that I was in would do a group exercise first, with interviewers going around and
asking questions. The first part was introducing myself to my group (consisting of 2 other people) and
then introducing someone else to everyone else. We were then given four questions for everyone to
discuss. These

How to Brush Your Teeth
How to Brush Your Teeth
Brushing your teeth is very important to do. You must brush your teeth every day so you won t get
cavities or gum diseases.
Things you will need
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Floss
Mouthwash
Water (cup if necessary)
Towel
[edit] Steps
1. Get all of your supplies ready. Things like toothbrush, tooth paste, floss (optional) and a mouthwash
solution (optional) must be available in your home. Take these into the bathroom!
2. Wet your toothbrush slightly. By doing this, your gums will not be torn by the sharp bristles of the
toothbrush.
3. Squeeze a pea size amount of toothpaste onto a soft bristled toothbrush. Your toothpaste should
contain fluoride and be recognized by your local dental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the lower front teeth, angle the brush so the bristles are slightly below the gum line and gently pull
up and out so the brush lifts any plaque and debris from around your lower gum line and teeth. Repeat
this approximately five to seven times for each area of the front teeth.
When your toothbrush bristles fray out or become too soft, usually after 3 months, it is time to get a
new toothbrush. (You can find toothbrushes that change color when the brush

Azalea and Friends Essay
Today was going to be a superb day. Azalea had invited all her friends to her house. She had found a
key in her backyard, yesterday and didn t know what to do with it. Ding, Dong, Ding, the bell rang it
was Max, at the door Azalea s best friend in the whole world. Hi, Azalea Max cried. Hey, Azalea
replied. I want to show you something I found. Let s wait for the others. Before Azalea and Max knew
it, everyone was there. First to arrive was Taylor, followed by Madeline, lastly with a tie, the twins
Brad and Chad. I m so happy everyone could make it, Azalea squealed. Now follow me to the
playroom. Azalea s house was humongous. There were fancy sculptures and pictures everywhere. It
took the kids forever to reach the playroom. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Does it fit his collar? Max suggested.
Good one, Max, Azalea exclaimed!
Biscuit! Azalea called. Come here.
Like a good dog, Biscuit answered Azalea s call. Azalea checked Biscuit s sparkly collar, but to no
luck the key didn t fit. Well obviously it fits a tree. Brad snorted. You must be kidding, Azalea said. No
he s not Chad retorted. The key is shaped like a tree, so it must obviously fit inside of a tree. I think
you guys are on to something, Azalea expressed. Everyone lets head to the backyard.
The outside of Azalea s house was just as nice as the inside. She had a miniature garden and a spiffy,
wooden patio. Tall, old, oak trees were all around Azalea s house; they swayed in a mysterious
rhythm. Now what tree could it be? Madeline, asked the group. Let s try the massive one at the top of
the hill. Azalea, proclaimed. It was a hike, but the kids reached the top of the hill. When they reached
the massive oak tree Azalea noticed a door. The door had a keyhole. Put the key, Put the key, Brad
yelled! Don t rush me. Are you guys sure of this? Azalea asked her friends. I mean this could be risky.
Everyone just stood there and looked at each other for a second. We re sure, piped Max. Just like
Peanut Butter and Jelly, we ll all stick together. Ok, you guys here goes nothing. Azalea placed the key
inside the keyhole, and one by one, from Azalea to Chad, they entered the door. It was pitch black
now. Wow,

Sex Offenders Deregistered
A considerable question could be whether an offender can be deregistered. Without a doubt, there are a
few sex offenders who have been convicted of this crime who do not pose any threat to the
community. These people suffer from consequences such as being unable to have employment, return
to school, or even social interactions. In cases like these, they often look for an alternative option. For
many years, deregistration was not probable for anyone until now. Looking into the research of
deregistration, an attorney from Austin, Texas by the name of Scott Smith, has provided certain step
for an eligibility of deregistration. The first step is to determine the eligibility of the offender. To be
eligible, they must not have more than one violation

Examples Of Suspense In The Sniper
The story the sniper is a suspenseful short story written by Liam O Flaherty. The story is about a
republican sniper that has the face of a scholar that is involved in the Irish civil war. The story the
sniper uses suspenseful phrases such as hurriedly, immediately, suddenly, and slowly to describe the
pace of the story. The thesis of The Sniper is that the story uses timing to create suspense. The story
the sniper uses back to back action to create suspense. One example of this in the story the sniper is
when an armoured car appeared along with an informant, which the sniper kills. Right after this the
sniper gets shot by an enemy sniper across the road. This makes the story suspenseful because the
events are happening rapidly which shows how often danger was evident. The sniper raised his rifle
and fired. The head fell heavily on the turret wall. The woman darted toward the side street. The sniper
fired again. The women whirled round and fell with a shriek into the gutter ( Liam O Flaherty 1). ...

An example is when the sniper kills his opponent, right after this event the story spends three
paragraphs talking about his remorse and his curiosity of who the enemy sniper was. This is
suspenseful because it stops the action of a long chain of events. Another example of the sniper using
slow pace for suspense is right after the sniper gets shot. This is suspenseful because the story is
running at a fast pace until he gets shot and hides behind the roof. This makes the story suspenseful
because it makes the reader wonder when the next event will

Yong Le Forbidden City
Aside from the beautiful architecture of the temples and palaces surrounding the Forbidden City, and
the sheer magnitude of a holy space dedicated to the emperor, I think the most impressive aspect of
the Forbidden City is the simple fact that such drastic measures were taken to improve the image and
reputation of Yong Le. It is by no means uncommon for leaders to make considerable changes in
themselves, in policy, or in staffing to make a statement, but it seems Yong Le was particularly
concerned with his credibility. He left no stone unturned in ensuring that his people would respect him
as a powerful ruler. As if moving the capitol back to Beijing wasn t enough to convince them, he
forged a new identity for himself. To me, that

Societal Issues Affecting African Americans
Set in the 1960 s, The Help, emphasizes the societal issues affecting African Americans in the past and
shows eerily similar parallels to our society today. The 1960 s consisted of a multitude of protests and
movements preaching civil disobedience and resistance. This attitude and behavior, led to the rise of
the Civil Rights Movement which is also a major aspect of the film. The Help, delivers a message that
stresses the dangers and paranoia that may be associated with a changing society that is focused on
retaining it s original values regardless of what may be occurring around them. Eventually change
does take charge and while acceptance is not immediate, slowly but steadily toleration does begin to
take root. Released in 2011, the film reflects the alterations in society but also displays the changes
that have yet to occur. The Help, showed the move forward and reluctant path to acceptance and
lenience. Many White individuals aided African Americans in their fight to gaining full civil rights
while others did not bother to hide their disapproval and continued to believe that African Americans
were inferior therefore did not deserve civil liberties. While as a society, we have come far, there
continue to be many aspects that have yet to change and African Americans continue to face
discrimination and inequality today. The film reveals the difficulties of bringing about change and
altering the mindsets of deepset individuals. The film is based upon the original novel,

Breaking Rules In Private Peaceful By Michael Morpurgo
Throughout my exposition I will be covering the inquiry question Are there some contexts where it is
acceptable to break the rules? . In the novel Private Peaceful written by Michael Morpurgo, there are
occasions when the rules are broken and I will be discussing them on the view that breaking rules is
acceptable in certain circumstances. These occasions are very much reasonable because of the
outcome if they didn t break the rules. Three of the occasions are... 1, When Charlie lied and told the
recruiting sergeant that both Charlie and Tommo were born on the 5th of October and both older then
17. 2, Charlie broke the rules because he didn t want to look cowardly by hiding his face from the
gunman, instead he decided to face the gunman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like I stated in my introduction Charlie joined the army so that they wouldn t be kicked out of their
house. Tommo wanted to join the army too and wasn t going to let others talk him out of it. Charlie
lying to the sergeant is acceptable in this circumstance and also helps prove breaking the rules in
certain scenarios is okay. Page number is 107. Charlie was asked to put a bag over his head however
he didn t want to lose his dignity or honour. Breaking the rules here showed the courage he had at that
certain. It was important for that Charlie didn t wimp out and put a bag over his head. Also, Charlie
left the bag off his head to remind the gunman of what he has done and give him a sense of remorse.
Page number is 184. Breaking the rules in this circumstance was important because it he was
protecting his brother Tommo. He did it because the Sargent was working Tommo too hard to the
point of unconsciousness. Breaking the rules here is certainly okay because his was protecting his
brother, however if it wasn t his brother the circumstances wouldn t change. This incidence helps my
overall argument Are there some contexts where it s acceptable to break the rules GET PAGE

Each region enjoys its own culture and values, which distinguishes from others. The pattern and the process of Tanglewood has to be similar, however, internal department methods will run depending on the regions culture. On page 12 of the Tanglewood case book its states that If you tell someone exactly what to do, you re only getting half an employee. If your given someone the space to make their own decisions, your getting a whole person . I encourage this philosophy to be spread and worked with among all the regions. Tanglewood like other stores has the same tools, clothing, equipment, electronics and much more. These retailers have to be engage in both over seas out sourcing and off shoring by hiring high tech and talented, sufficient employees to deal with this globally and locally that will help Tanglewood reach and exceed competitive levels among others. Tanglewood retailers, have to establish locations closer to their distributers, this is because Tanglewood has 12 geographic regions and 20 stores per region. • 4. Contrast the Significance of the Term Lead Time in the... Question 1 Contrast the significance of the term lead time in the traditional EOQ context and in an MRP system. In the traditional context, lead time is fixed either as a discrete time or as a probability distribution. Such lead time constancy or variation is outside of the inventory model. Lead time in an MRP system is assumed to be a variable. While specific lead times are stated for planning purposes, these times may be speeded up or delayed as conditions warrant. Indeed, it is this ability to detect needed changes in lead times, either by expediting or de expediting, that many users cite as one of the most valuable features of MRP. MRP has had some degree of success in environments where requirements are relatively certain and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Raw materials must be kept as inventory stock. As they are used, stock must be replenished through reordering MRP fulfils 3 main functions: 1. MRP makes sure that dependent demand items are kept in stock. 2. MRP maintains the optimal level of inventory that is most cost effective for a company. 3. MRP us used to purchase new stock, deliver finished products, and plan the daily manufacturing processes. MRP is effective due to it working backwards from a plan for producing finished products in order to develop the amount of raw materials that a company needs. How this works is MRP breaks down inventory requirements into separate stages. This helps to manage production and keep it flowing at an even level. It also helps to keep inventory costs to a minimum. The drawback is that MRP systems can be expensive to implement and the costs can be quite high, offsetting the amount of money that a company could save in inventory costs. Larger companies that produce large volumes of finished products may find it beneficial but the same may not be true for smaller companies. Plus, for MRP to produce accurate results, you need to have accurate data. Information such as orders, bills, item numbers and records must be accurate or the results will be off. To get results, you have to input information into the MRP system. There are 3 main sources of information for input: 1. Bill of sale for materials 2. A ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Discuss your ideas with close reference to at least two scenes from Hamlet. Shakespeare s texts have been re visited, re interpreted and re invented to suit the context and preferences of an evolving audience, and it through this constant recreation it is evident that Hamlet does not define or exhaust its possibilities . Through the creation of a character who emulates a variety of different themes, such as revenge, realisation of reality and the questioning of humanity, we can see the different possibilities within Hamlet as an admirable text with enduring human value. Furthermore, the emotional journey of Hamlet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A more definitive reading of Hamlet disputes the claim that he was mad, and instead suggests that Hamlet feigns madness in order to become closer to the truth. This reading is an example of Shakespeare demonstrating the changing context in Denmark through the projection of the protagonist as an extended metaphor for the emerging Renaissance Humanism period. This period was defined by choice and analysis of events, and is emulated through Hamlet s alliterated statement in his soliloquy in Scene 3, Act 1, conscience makes cowards of us all. Hamlet believes he is in a psychological state of cowardice, and that his conscience is holding him back through his assessment of the consequences of acting on the orders of the ghost. L.C. Knight believes Hamlet is the exploration and implicit criticism of a particular state of mind or consciousness . This questioning on the theme of humanity and the final stage in Hamlet s complex thought process is finally resolved in the soliloquy in Scene 4, Act 3. Hamlet s characterisation, once that of a pure man whose mind was riddled with angst at the idea of murder shifts to a mind of bloody thoughts as a result of his bound duty. This personified imagery is a reflection of Hamlet s now tainted mind since the murder of Polonius, and the constant obsession with Claudius murder. Hamlet accuses himself of thinking too precisely , and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We have marriage ceremonies centered around our love for our partner; we have special days such as Valentine s Day to show our appreciation for others; and we have songs about our loved ones. Almost all of the things we do are ways for humans to dedicate their life to love. In the New International Version of the Bible love is stated about five hundred and fifty times. One of the most memorable references of love in the Bible is one that is commonly read at sacred marriage ceremonies and is frequently quoted in captions on social media. Nash said that the very qualities of love that he [Paul] enumerated stood in clear contrast to their [Corinthians] own behavior (Nash 386). Nash also believes that love is a way not a gift and the way of love transcends the pursuit of individual fulfillment and leads to true community (Nash 386). The main point that Nash was trying to get across what that Paul showed a preference for verbs rather than adjectives in order to enumerate the point that love is not simply a feeling; it is a lifestyle, love involves action which is defined by the cross of Christ (Nash 386). The purpose of 1 Corinthians is for the audience to take action with God because of the love the audience has for him. The audience is meant to be moved emotionally through love so they can act upon that love for the better of the community. Love is the way to become fulfilled and can be done perfectly through ... • 8. The Mariah Carey Christmas Special 2014 The concert that I have selected for my review is the Mariah Carey Christmas special 2014. The concert took place on December 16 at the beacon theater in New York City and it lasted for approximately an hour. The concert opened with a performance by a ballerina with classical music. Then followed by the entrance of Mariah Carey, who was at the center of the stage. The visual of the concert I have to say personally was amazing and impressive, it had a big Christmas tree in the back and background with the stars and snowflakes hang from the ceilings, very Christmas like to me. Her band was dressed in white; she had backup singers and a choir right behind her. She began her concert with the famous Hark! The Herald Angels Sing / Gloria, personally I was moved by the way she sang that song, it was moving, it provokes many emotions to me, however this is a song that has a lot of high notes and it was very hard to hear her voice because she was not able to sing it the way she did. Although she did not preform this song like she used to, I have to admit that it made me cry a little, it such a beautiful song and even though she made have sang it under peach, I appreciated her voice and she was still able to make the song her and put a lot of emotions to it. • 12. Gas Price Fluctuation Analysis A recent price shift that all American drivers have experienced is the constant fluctuations of gas prices. As I turned 16 in 2013 gas prices were on the rise ranging from $3 $4 across the nation. For many Americans it caused them to make economical decisions on what vehicle to buy taking on extra jobs to pay for gas, cutting out vacations because of the high gas expense. During 2013 I would even struggle filling up my dodge pickup every week and realizing how much money I was spending just on gas. However, in 2016 prices have decreased to $1 $2 dollars. If we look back on the history of gas prices we can analyze that reason gas prices change so often is based on the amount of crude oil. Since oil is the main input for producing gasoline, so if there is a rise in oil price than gasoline price must rise as well. Many factors go into affecting gas prices, but one example in particular is the detriment of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The development in technologies and communication have produced a shift in learning system which affect cultures and national economic growth. Higher education systems has been transformed by globalisation, which is the widening, deepening and speeding up of worldwide interconnectedness (Held et al., 1999, p.14). When examining the impact of globalisation on higher education all over the world, the positive and negative aspects of this phenomenon have been widely mentioned. Some writers argue that globalisation has the destructive effect to the postgraduate system in developing nations and non English speaking developed nations (Marginson, 2006). Although the downsides of globalisation to higher education remain highly controversial, the occurrence of this phenomenon could significantly encourage national universities and governments to develop their standard of higher education which will benefit to students (Damme, 2001). This involves listening to the whole story and retelling the story to Angela of what was heard by her telling the story. Time guiding the conversation to aid Angela in understanding that the grief process is also a healing process. Guiding also include instruction and information, but it is aimed much less at acquiring than restoring restoring the parishioner s soul, thus becoming more of her true self again. One of the other issue Pastor Bob needs to address is the congregation and their concerns and emotions dealing with the situation. There is evidence that they are creating triangles by talking among themselves. They seem to be justifying the death being cause by Angela s possible drinking and lack of being present when the water swept her son into the current. Triangles are created more frequently and cause great damage when anxiety increases in a system. There is certainly anxiety in this case study in reference to the death of a child. Pharmacy does require several years of schooling, however, in the long run it pays off very well. Out of all the health professions available, pharmacy interests me the most. Job description: Pharmacists do much more than simply fill prescriptions. They can advise patients about a healthy diet, ensure that prescribed medication does not conflict negatively with other medications that a patient is taking, and can even give flu shots. Pharmacists also regularly instruct patients on when and how to take their medication, coordinate with insurance companies about prescribed medication, and oversee the pharmacy technicians and interns ( Pharmacists. U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). There are four different types of pharmacists: community pharmacists, clinical pharmacists, consultant pharmacists, and pharmaceutical industry pharmacists. Community pharmacists work in chain drug stores, and some even run their own pharmacy. They give prescribed medication to patients, and give advice and occasionally flu shots to them as well. Clinical pharmacists are much different. They ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the recent 22 years, there were two non ideal periods of LMTVX. The first one was during the bear markets of early 2000s (from 2000 to 2002) caused by the crisis of tech companies and the 911. The 2nd one started from 2006 to 2009 during the world economic recession resulted by subprime mortgage crisis. However, during year 2000 to 2001 LMVTX still outperformed the S P500. ETFs experience price changes throughout the day as they are bought and sold. Since LMVTX returns are adjusted to capture dividends payments, in order to be consistent, we are going to SPY as the benchmark in our analysis of LMVTX while SPY is a tradable security that matches the S P500 returns and captures the dividends paid. Performance Measurement Highest Return Least Risk To measure the investment performance, both return and risk should be considered. That is, we use the adjusted returns for risk to do the evaluation. For the Bill Miller s Value Trust, the appropriate measures are the Sharpe ratio and the M square, since the LMVTX and SPY represents the entire risky investment. Other measurements, such as Treynor measure, Jensen s alpha, information ratio, Sortino ratio and Sterling ratio can also be used as reference. We use a long observation period, from 1995 to 2012, to measure performance to achieve the precision. The good performance means make the most money with the least risk. • 21. The Use Of Biologics And Medical Devices Should Be Strict The level of regulation governed by the FDA over drugs, biologics medical devices is a widely debated topic. In my point of view, the level of regulation on drugs, biologics and medical devices should be strict. The current regulations governed by the FDA are very strict and should remain that way because the base of these regulations are underlined by various tragedies which we don t want to be repeated. For instance, the thalidomide incident in which many children were born with Phocomelia (shortening or absence of limbs). Thalidomide, which started as an OTC drug in 1957 as a remedy for sleeplessness was later found to have off label effects such as mitigation of morning sickness in pregnant women. Hence was then prescribed worldwide to pregnant women. However, in 1962 Frances Kelsey prevented the approval of this drug in the USA. This resulted in Harris Kefauver Amendment in 1962 which tightened the investigation and approval of drugs requiring the manufacturers to prove their safety and efficacy. Many incidents could be avoided in the past if the regulations were firm and so there is an utter necessity of governing bodies for oversight of clinical trials, new drug development and manufacturing of drugs, biologics and medical devices. Many of these unfortunate events were mishaps, but there are many such incidents which are the result of greed and corruption leading to adulteration of drugs, cosmetics and food products. • 23. What Is The Value Of Life Throughout our lives we are categorized into social classes, scrutinized and judged by others. With the constant influences of others and society within our lives, it becomes hard to determine our purpose in life and how our decisions will not only affect us but those around us. As stated in the bible, Human life is a sacred essence, bequeathed to those who are made in the very image of the creator himself (Genesis 1:26 27). The value of life is not determined by the materials that we may contain or social status. It is what comes from within your heart; rather than being preoccupied about what society thinks, we should be living to our fullest and making a difference within the world for tomorrow may not be promised. In today s day and age, many people have become self consumed rather than trying to make a good impact in other s lives. As Albert Einstein once stated The value of a man should be seen in what he gives and not what he is able to receive (Albert Einstein Quotes. BrainyQuote. Xplore, n.d. Web. 12 July 2017). Orson Scotts Ender s Game, is a good representation of the value of life because Ender whom is a young child, sacrifices his life by enrolling into a military school in order to protect his country as well as his loved ones. Though the characters themselves are fictional, their situations are very real. Both works highlight the harsh realities of poverty and classism. Andrea s friendship with Ena and her experience at Pons party showcase the difference in quality of life between the rich and the poor in Spain. The rich characters have no idea what the life of the lower class is like. Pons and Ena both completely fail to understand what Andrea goes through daily. Ena even goes so far as to say she wishes she were poor like Andrea. Andrea describe her family s apartment as a nightmarish hellscape, she spends most of her time on the verge of starvation, and hardly a day goes by without a violent incident taking place in her home. Because of this, Andrea attempts to completely separate herself from her family and her class; she spends most of her time at Ena s and Guíxols . She is happiest when she is with these people who often fail to understand her. The class distinction in Historia de una Escalera is less present, but when it does appear it is much more dramatic. The rich are shown to consider the residents of the apartment building as subhuman. In the final act two wealthy, well dressed men discuss how to make the building habitable again. Love sonnets became particularly popular due to the opportunity they offered their authors to express their most alluring desires, while sticking to the strict guidelines of a sonnet. One particular 16th century writer, Sir Philip Sidney, wrote love sonnets that followed the relationship of the desire ridden Astrophil and the object of his affection, Stella. In order for suitors to gain power from either woman, the women had to have had power for them to acquire. Similar to Queen Elizabeth, Stella is portrayed as a woman of power and appears to be highly sought after. Her love was an indescribably, wonderful prize to the speaker, just as Queen Elizabeth s hand in marriage would have been quite an accomplishment for any nobleman. Words such as nobler , kings , covenants , and monarchs are all present in the poem, not only alluding to the political agenda present in the work, but possibly Stella s societal position. Elizabeth I was showered with ravishing gifts and compliments routinely by her courtiers. These men of her court sought to woo and impress the unattainable queen. • 42. Pinderfield Hospital Interview Report 06 01 2017: Interview as a Safety Support Worker for MidYorks Hospital. I had an interview for a new job today at Pinderfields Hospital. The interview went really well and the Senior Sister gave me an offer instantly. However upon realising that I could only work part time (23 hours/ week) and not a bank position, I started to wonder whether the job will be suitable for me. Initially was really keen in getting the job because I was fed up of cleaning the wards for mediocre results. I was even more delighted that there was an opportunity to work at Dewsbury Hospital, as I missed volunteering there a lot. However I was upset that a bank position was not available (despite advertising it) and that I had to work contracted hours. The interview went well. This was no surprise as a lot of the questions were based on protocols and the job description (which I knew fairly well). There was one question that did throw me; asking how I could improve a patient s memory (and therefore, decrease the risk of dementia). I tried to stay calm throughout, however, I did feel like I mumbled a lot in my answers. However the Senior Sister insisted that I worked on her ward (a stroke rehab), so I m glad I ... The group that I was in would do a group exercise first, with interviewers going around and asking questions. The first part was introducing myself to my group (consisting of 2 other people) and then introducing someone else to everyone else. We were then given four questions for everyone to discuss. Max suggested. Good one, Max, Azalea exclaimed! Biscuit! Azalea called. Come here. Like a good dog, Biscuit answered Azalea s call. Azalea checked Biscuit s sparkly collar, but to no luck the key didn t fit. Well obviously it fits a tree. Brad snorted. You must be kidding, Azalea said. No he s not Chad retorted. The key is shaped like a tree, so it must obviously fit inside of a tree. I think you guys are on to something, Azalea expressed. Everyone lets head to the backyard. The outside of Azalea s house was just as nice as the inside. She had a miniature garden and a spiffy, wooden patio. Tall, old, oak trees were all around Azalea s house; they swayed in a mysterious rhythm. Now what tree could it be? Madeline, asked the group. Let s try the massive one at the top of the hill. Azalea, proclaimed. It was a hike, but the kids reached the top of the hill. When they reached the massive oak tree Azalea noticed a door. The door had a keyhole. Put the key, Put the key, Brad yelled! Don t rush me. Are you guys sure of this? Azalea asked her friends. I mean this could be risky. Everyone just stood there and looked at each other for a second. We re sure, piped Max. Just like Peanut Butter and Jelly, we ll all stick together. Ok, you guys here goes nothing. Azalea placed the key inside the keyhole, and one by one, from Azalea to Chad, they entered the door. It was pitch black now. Wow, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. Examples Of Suspense In The Sniper The story the sniper is a suspenseful short story written by Liam O Flaherty. The story is about a republican sniper that has the face of a scholar that is involved in the Irish civil war. The story the sniper uses suspenseful phrases such as hurriedly, immediately, suddenly, and slowly to describe the pace of the story. The thesis of The Sniper is that the story uses timing to create suspense. The story the sniper uses back to back action to create suspense. One example of this in the story the sniper is when an armoured car appeared along with an informant, which the sniper kills. Right after this the sniper gets shot by an enemy sniper across the road. This makes the story suspenseful because the events are happening rapidly which shows how often danger was evident. The sniper raised his rifle and fired. The head fell heavily on the turret wall. The woman darted toward the side street. The sniper fired again. The women whirled round and fell with a shriek into the gutter ( Liam O Flaherty 1). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 47. Yong Le Forbidden City Aside from the beautiful architecture of the temples and palaces surrounding the Forbidden City, and the sheer magnitude of a holy space dedicated to the emperor, I think the most impressive aspect of the Forbidden City is the simple fact that such drastic measures were taken to improve the image and reputation of Yong Le. It is by no means uncommon for leaders to make considerable changes in themselves, in policy, or in staffing to make a statement, but it seems Yong Le was particularly concerned with his credibility. He left no stone unturned in ensuring that his people would respect him as a powerful ruler. As if moving the capitol back to Beijing wasn t enough to convince them, he forged a new identity for himself. To me, that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Societal Issues Affecting African Americans Set in the 1960 s, The Help, emphasizes the societal issues affecting African Americans in the past and shows eerily similar parallels to our society today. The 1960 s consisted of a multitude of protests and movements preaching civil disobedience and resistance. This attitude and behavior, led to the rise of the Civil Rights Movement which is also a major aspect of the film. The Help, delivers a message that stresses the dangers and paranoia that may be associated with a changing society that is focused on retaining it s original values regardless of what may be occurring around them. Eventually change does take charge and while acceptance is not immediate, slowly but steadily toleration does begin to take root. Released in 2011, the film reflects the alterations in society but also displays the changes that have yet to occur. The Help, showed the move forward and reluctant path to acceptance and lenience. Many White individuals aided African Americans in their fight to gaining full civil rights while others did not bother to hide their disapproval and continued to believe that African Americans were inferior therefore did not deserve civil liberties. While as a society, we have come far, there continue to be many aspects that have yet to change and African Americans continue to face discrimination and inequality today. The film reveals the difficulties of bringing about change and altering the mindsets of deepset individuals. The film is based upon the original novel, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the novel Private Peaceful written by Michael Morpurgo, there are occasions when the rules are broken and I will be discussing them on the view that breaking rules is acceptable in certain circumstances. These occasions are very much reasonable because of the outcome if they didn t break the rules. Three of the occasions are... 1, When Charlie lied and told the recruiting sergeant that both Charlie and Tommo were born on the 5th of October and both older then 17. 2, Charlie broke the rules because he didn t want to look cowardly by hiding his face from the gunman, instead he decided to face the gunman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Like I stated in my introduction Charlie joined the army so that they wouldn t be kicked out of their house. Tommo wanted to join the army too and wasn t going to let others talk him out of it. Charlie lying to the sergeant is acceptable in this circumstance and also helps prove breaking the rules in certain scenarios is okay. Page number is 107. Charlie was asked to put a bag over his head however he didn t want to lose his dignity or honour. Breaking the rules here showed the courage he had at that certain. It was important for that Charlie didn t wimp out and put a bag over his head. Also, Charlie left the bag off his head to remind the gunman of what he has done and give him a sense of remorse. Page number is 184. Breaking the rules in this circumstance was important because it he was protecting his brother Tommo. He did it because the Sargent was working Tommo too hard to the point of unconsciousness.
