2. Oliver! Oliver! is a musical based on the novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. The music and lyrics were written by Lionel Bart. It premiered in the West End in London in 1960. In 1963, it had a long, successful run on Broadway. In 1969, Columbia Pictures made the musical film version. Oliver Twist is an unloved orphan. He expresses his deep loneliness when he sings Where Is Love?

3. You can watch a video clip of Where Is Love? from the film version of Oliver! on You Tube. This clip was posted by “maiza”. It is in English and also has English subtitles. There are also many other video clips of this song available. Watch and listen to this song on You Tube

4. Read the lyrics to Where Is Love? and notice the question forms. Where is love? Does it fall from skies above? Is it underneath the willow tree that I’ve been dreaming of? Where is she who I close my eyes to see? Will I ever know the sweet “hello” that’s meant for only me? Where is love? Who can say where she may hide? Must I travel far and wide till I am beside the someone who I can mean something to?
