number. The form of a verb in
either a single number or a second
form. The first form of verb
change into English is divided into
two forms, namely regular verbs

6. a) Simple past tense is regularly formed with suffix -ed
from infinitive.
Examples:
to work (V1) worked (V2)
to ask (V1) asked (V2)
b) Except for verbs ending with the letter "e", only the
change is added -d.
Examples:
to love (V1) loved (V2)
to dance (V1) danced (V2)
7. c) If the infinitive (verb 1) ends with the letter "y"
preceded by the vowel, then verb2 is formed by
adding -ed only,

to enjoy (V1) enjoyed (V2)

d) Whereas if the infinitive ends with a consonant
preceded by a vowel, then verb2 is formed by
concurrently the consonant, then plus -ed, also valid
for one syllable.
Examples:
to admit (V1) admiited (V2)
to beg (V1) begged (V2)
8. e) When infinitive ends with "y" preceded by consonant
letter (dead letter), then verb2 is formed by throtting
"y" to "i" then added -ed.
Examples:
to carry (V1) carried (V2)
to try (V1) tried (V2)
f) for irregular verbs there is no special formula so it
must be memorized according to the rules.
