1. Choice Essay Sample
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Choice" poses a unique set of challenges that can make the
writing process quite intricate. The complexity arises from the broad nature of the subject itself,
encompassing a myriad of perspectives, contexts, and implications. The task involves delving
into the philosophical, psychological, ethical, and societal dimensions of choice, requiring a
comprehensive understanding and analysis.
Firstly, navigating the vast literature on choice demands significant research skills. The topic
spans disciplines, ranging from philosophy to behavioral economics, and necessitates the
synthesis of diverse ideas. The challenge lies in discerning which perspectives are most relevant
and constructing a coherent narrative that captures the essence of the theme.
Secondly, the ambiguity and subjectivity inherent in the concept of choice make it challenging to
establish a universally accepted framework for discussion. Different individuals, cultures, and
societies perceive and value choices differently, adding layers of complexity to the essay.
Striking a balance between presenting diverse viewpoints and maintaining a focused argument is
no small feat.
Moreover, articulating a compelling thesis that encapsulates the essence of the chosen angle on
the topic requires a nuanced understanding of the subject matter. The essay should not only
analyze the concept of choice but also provide insights and reflections that provoke thought and
engage the reader.
Lastly, ensuring the essay maintains a logical flow and coherence is crucial. Juggling various
dimensions of choice without losing the reader's attention demands effective organization and
transitions between ideas. Balancing depth of analysis with clarity and conciseness further adds
to the writing challenge.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on the theme of "Choice" necessitates adept research, a nuanced
understanding of diverse perspectives, and the ability to weave together complex ideas into a
cohesive narrative. Nevertheless, with dedication and a systematic approach, one can overcome
these challenges and produce a thought-provoking piece.

Acupuncture
Abstract
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a component of the health care system of China that can be traced
back at least 2,500 years. The general theory of acupuncture is based on the premise
that there are patterns of energy flow (Qi) through the body that are essential for
health. Disruptions of this flow are believed to be responsible for disease.
Acupuncture may, it has been theorized, correct imbalances of flow at identifiable
points close to the skin.
Acupuncturists believe that illness occurs when something blocks or unbalances
your Chi (energy). Acupuncture is a way to unblock or influence chi and help it flow
back into balance.

Some acupuncture patients report feeling relief from pain after just one treatment.
Others notice results after a series of treatments.
Another positive aspect of acupuncture is that it generally causes few or no side
effects either during or after treatment. Despite the fact that treatment sessions
involve piercing the skin with needles, the needles used are extremely thin, and thus
their insertion does not cause pain in most patients. It is also rare for patients to
experience effects such as bruising or soreness following a treatment.
Many find that the price of treatments is a major disadvantage to using acupuncture
for pain management. Often, multiple treatments are needed before one s pain begins
to diminish. As it is generally considered a form of alternative or complementary
medicine, acupuncture may not be covered by one s health insurance, and thus can be
costly.
Further, acupuncture is not guaranteed to reduce pain, and a significant number of
patients find that it has no noticeable effect. In fact, medical researchers are still
uncertain as to why acupuncture lessens pain in some individuals. Based on
comparative studies of groups receiving acupuncture and those receiving a mock
treatment, it seems that the technique s success or failure may be partly due to
psychological factors.
Finally, using acupuncture for pain management can lead

Water, water everywhere! This is prime time to witness Sierra water on the move.
There are, of course, many destinations in Tuolumne County to see the spectacle of
snow melt, but one of my favorites is Rainbow Pool and the nearby collision on the
South and Middle Forks of the Tuolumne River.
The merging of these two streams is mesmerizing, even more dramatic because
you are able to stand so close. Drenched with spray and the sound and fury of the
rivers blocking out all other sounds, it is an experience not to be missed. And I will

An eccentric, salty character named John Cox was the one and only toll keeper.
Between 1895 1915 he collected money for the Big Oak Flat Road Company. The
toll gate was near the covered bridge and here Cox was master of all he surveyed for
20 years.
Why he chose to leave his job as a reporter in San Francisco is unknown, but local
legend has it that a broken romance caused him to abandon civilization and turned
him into a loner. During the Civil War, Cox was a bugler for the Confederate Army,
and the plaintive sounds of his horn could be heard piercing the mountain air as
travelers left his hermitage on the river.
Some readers/visitors will be amazed to learn that Cox built his humble cabin atop
the big boulder to the left of the waterfall. Years later, after upgrades and enlargement,
it was transformed into the renowned Cliff House.
Cliff House provided lodging and meals to countless tourists until it burned down in
1958.
The small site harbors big Sierra history. The Hetch Hetchy Railroad steamed through
here during construction of San Francisco s gargantuan water project in Hetch
Hetchy Valley. The line was abandoned in the late 1930s after the dam was raised 85
feet, and the tracks were removed for scrap in 1949.
San Francisco was not the first to divert Sierra water for human endeavors. Another
massive water project preceded the damming of the Tuolumne River, creating an 8
mile long reservoir.

Introduction Community health is an essential aspect of wellness of a community s
citizens. In order to ensure that a community is safeguarding the health for its
residents, the healthcare professional must recognize that the process of evaluation,
assessment, implementations and planning is essential for the community health
nurse to assure adequate outcome of indicated interventions. In the community
assessment, diabetes was noted to be a major problem in the Irvington community. It
is only adequate to identify suitable interventions that can help curtail this ailment
amongst the residents of Irvington, New Jersey. As identified during the community
assessment of Irvington Township, several aspects of the community and
environmental risks relating to the high incidence of diabetes amongst this population
were recognized. During the course of this paper, specific interventions and
quantifiable goals will be identified. The main goal of this paper is to curtail the
prevalence of diabetes in Irvington Township. Brief overview of Diabetes Diabetes is
a condition that affects the way the body breaks down glucose for energy and
development. The insulin dependent and noninsulin dependent diabetes are not the
same disorders. Although the origins, short term effects, and managements for the
two types fluctuate, both can cause similar long term health complications (Monahan

6. Analysis Of Rogier Van Der Weyden s Virgin And Child
In the painting, Virgin and Child , by Rogier van der Weyden, it can be observed that
the artist chose to use the medium of oil on wood. Despite the fact that Rogier van
der Weyden created this painting in the Netherlands and was born in Tournai,
Belgium, their primary influence appeared to stem from the Italian Renaissance,
which had begun to use the technique of oil paintings with increasing frequency by
turn of the 15th century. The subject of the painting itself, Madonna and her virgin
child, were a common theme in the Renaissance, where religious subjects and topics
were the primary choice for any prominent artist during this historical artistic period.

It also worth noting that the fingers of the Virgin Mary were longer in length than
that of the average woman as well. This bolsters evidence to the theory that the
elongated arm of the child in the photo was created in a purposeful manner. As noted
in the previous paragraph, the elongated arm not only conveys a sense of maturity,
strength, and age that is unbecoming of a child this age, it also yields a sense of
piousness. During this period, artists commonly employed the technique of
elongating the limbs and physical features of certain subjects to emphasize their
overall importance. As noted by anyone familiar with the tradition of Christianity,
these two figures are of great importance within the religion. Thus, the use of elongate
elongated limbs and fingers is logical in this context.
The painting, Virgin and Child with Donor , by Antoniazzo Romano, despite
painting a similar scene, possesses several differences. The most notable difference
is the fact that the work of art was crafted on an entirely different medium, which
was the Tempera and gold leaf on wood , according to the museum s description. The
painting is similar to Rogier van der Weyden s work in its depiction of the Virgin
Mary with very soft, blended features. The facial expression of the Virgin Mary is
also very like that of Rogier van der Weyden s painting as well, conveying a sense of
peace and

There are many external events alluded to through the text. It is hinted that the
start of Blanche s insanity was when she found out that her husband was a
homosexual. Stella leaves Belle Reve, and Blanche is stuck to take care of their
dying kin, while losing their family home. Before Blanche arrives in New Orleans,
she is fired from her teaching job because the entire town knows of her as a whore.
This is also what ruins her in New Orleans because the manager at Stanley s job has
passed through the hotel she used to live in. The internal events of the play begin
with Blanches arrival. Immediately, Stanley assumes that Blanche sold Belle Reve
for money, and believes that a share of it belongs to him. In an argument Stanley
hits Stella, and Blanche uses it as an excuse to lure Stella away. Mitch and Blanche
begin dating, and decide that they will wed. When Stanley finds this out he informs
Mitch as a friend of Blanche s past, and breaks up the engagement. Stella goes to the
hospital to have her baby, and while she is there Stanley and Blanche have a fight,
which ends with sexual relations. After Stella returns from the hospital, a nurse and a
doctor come to take Blanche away. Mitch begins to cry, showing that he really did
love her.
Reversals are common in this play. Mitch goes from wanting to marry Blanche, to
calling the wedding off. Stanley goes from hating Blanche to fooling around with
her, which could be interpreted as an act of violence or

Northup and others were to be shipped to New Orleans. New Orleans had the
biggest slave market in the South. It was a place no slave ever wanted to
encounter. Before arriving in New Orleans, they made frequent stops at other
slave pens to resupply goods and acquire more slaves. Escape always came to mind
while on the ship but never came to fruition, as opportunity was lost. Arriving in
New Orleans Northup was given the name Platt and placed in another slave pen
similar to that in Washington. While in the pen they were to be kept in a
presentable manner, washed, shaved and dressed in a cheap suit everyday. Slaves
were instructed in moving to their spots and looking smart . Each slave was to
stand in their spot while potential buyers viewed and analyzed them thoroughly.
Northup became well known for his violin skills, so much so that Freeman was
able to exploit such skills in pricing. However, after being exposed to small pox
earlier from another slave, Northup got deathly ill and was rushed to the hospital,
decreasing his value. Though still weak, he returned to the slave pen where he was
sold to Mr. William Ford. Many different masters owned Northup, but two to be

preacher and owner of a lumberyard, purchased Northup in the New Orleans. Ford

11. Summary Of Gulliver s Travels And A Modest Proposal
Analysis of Gulliver s Travels and A Modest Proposal: Satire
Authors often use satire to ridicule people s behaviors or society s institutions, with
hopes of bringing social change. One of the most influential satirical authors of all
time is Jonathan Swift, who uses these techniques so effectively, that he has been
called the greatest satirist in the English Language (Holt 620). Swift s use of satire to
address controversial concerns is one of the reasons this story is still relevant and
analyzed by students today. Swift keenly uses satirical elements such as incongruity
and parody to deliver uncompromising commentary on English politics and humanity
as a whole. Jonathan Swift was a clergyman who lived in Ireland from 1667 1745, ...

This controversy is parodying how society treats differing viewpoints, and how
polarizing things that are subjective can become.
Later in Gulliver s Travels, Swift also parodies promotion to office. It is explained
in the book that When a great Office is vacant, either by Death or Disgrace, (which
often happens) five or six of those Candidates petition the Emperor to entertain his
Majesty and the Court with a Dance on the Rope; and whoever jumps the highest
without falling, succeeds in the Office. (Wilding 3). Swift compares the process of
running for office to jumping on a rope without falling. The simple parody of
English politics is that he has literalized a common expression, used to describe
how people have to perform tedious tasks to please those above them. Another layer
of meaning to the parody is that the task used to see who will gain power has
nothing to do with how qualified they are to be in government (Wilding 3), which is
a criticism of English politics at the time.
In a Modest Proposal, Swift parodies a serious problem solution essay (Holt 620), he
aimed to draw attention to the inhumanity that the English were casually allowing. To
do this, he supplies cost and profit calculations; the nations stock will be thereby
increased fifty thousand pounds per annum... (159 165) to parody how injustice and
cruelty is usually justified, through numbers and statistics.

12. Eyewitness In The Criminal Justice System
Human memory is a complex system that encodes, stores, and retrieves information.
Encoding involves two types of rehearsal: maintenance rehearsal, which is reciting
the information, and relational or elaborative rehearsal, which is thinking about what
the information means and how it relates to what you already know (Reisberg, 2016).
Active encoding helps short termmemorytransfer to long term memory. Next, storage
involves holding the information until it is needed, which brings us to retrieval.
Retrieval happens when you remember the information; it requires first finding the
information in storage and then bringing it to the surface. Errors in any one of these
processes can result in error in memory which has large implications for eyewitness
identification in the criminal justice system. During a criminal investigation, the
police seek out eyewitnesses to better understand what happened and who committed

The Use of Narratives to Express the Religious Beliefs of People in Western Religions
For the layman, familiarity with the major religions stems from the stories that are
associated with them. Using the narratives that are derived from the sacred texts is
the most prominent way in which our society identifies the Westernreligions. The
Jewish tradition is best correlated to stories like the Exodus and the parting of the

Christianity. This essay will present narratives as an easy method of providing the

Therefore, the holy day of Sabbath is it is known for Jews and Christians, is absent
in Islam. God was not weary from the act of creation, and oversaw all that he had
created, rather. This could be seen as part of the belief in Islam that the Koran is a
correction to the previous religions of Judaism and Christianity, and that the holy
scriptures were somehow corrupted in their present form.
In the Western tradition, primarily in the United States where Christianity prevails,
the story of creation from Genesis is held in high regard, and controversies have
erupted disputing whether or not its fundamentals should be taught in school. The
founding of this nation through the Constitution was erected with the belief of
separation of church and state. In the conservative 1920s, a huge court case erupted
from the dispute between the Christian creationism and the scientific founding of
Charles Darwin s evolution. The Scopes Monkey trial of 1925 saw a schoolteacher
found guilty of teaching evolution in the classroom, a theory that flabbergasted
fundamentalist Christians who perceived it ludicrous that humans could have
descended from monkeys. The narrative tradition of the Genesis creation was
evidently a central issue for Americans and typified the Christian identity in the U.S.
at a time when modernism was emerging, as the fourteen states had anti Evolution
statutes.
According to the first account of creation in Genesis, God made man on the sixth

Final Movement Reflection
When I first started movement class in January, I already had a good connection
with my body. However, I knew there was still a lot of work to be done. The most
valuable lessons I learned during the course, though there were many, were to not
work so hard with my body, to be more aware of my day to day, and the power of
understanding yourself.
As a student with a business background, I tend to want to work hard. Before
taking movement this semester, I would occasionally notice my posture, and
correct it to something more proper. For example, I noticed how I keep my head
forward, or how I would overuse my lower back muscles. This was, however, where
my body awareness ended. On the first day of class, Val got us to... Show more

I said I would make it my purpose to walk with back body every time I came from
the train to school. When I first started, I had a lot of trouble. I would be aware of
my back body, then after a couple steps I would revert back to old habits. It was a
constant battle between awareness and unconsciousness. Val pointed it out that it
is similar to meditation; you always have to bring back awareness. As time went
on I found that I could walk with back body for longer. However, I did end up
walking slower. I assumed that I was relearning to walk, so I would have to start
slow. The interesting thing was that the awareness of back body expanded beyond
my walk to school. Eventually, I started to walk with back body through hallways,
or I would remember to use back body when I was sitting. Moreover, I started to
remember to use the Alexander Technique more often in my everyday life. At this
point in the semester, I am getting more and more consistent with my practice.
However, when I am busy, it tends to slip away. This practice is another big part of
why I m feeling less tense in troubled areas. I believe an actor must practice
awareness and their scales every day. This will allow for better habits to form.
Therefore, when it comes time to act, this work will happen

As you probably know the purple heart is awarded to injured soldiers that came
back from war to reward their bravery. During world war two one jeep got a purple
heart for surviving 2 beach landings after it was dropped out of a plane. So the jeep
earned one of the army s most prestigious awards. The jeep was also called the only
American sports car by Enzo Ferrari as a way of insulting the chevy corvette
because he thought that the jeep was so much better. The jeeps are also one of the
best cars you can buy because it is so customizable, rugged, and very easy to fix.
Since jeeps were so good everyone tried to copy the jeeps great design. Jeep has
some very cool accessories/ specifications like light bars, the weight, and taking
parts off. Jeeps are very customizable because you can do many different things to
them like take the whole top and doors off, if you want you can even take the
windshield off. You can also put things on like light bars winches and many more
things. When the jeep was created they were only 1,300 pounds and they thought
that was too light so they then raised it to 2,160 pounds. They also had to change
the wheelbase size on the jeep from 80 inches to a little more than 90 because they
were flipping to easy but even with the bigger wheelbase they are still flipping. They
also changed the ground clearance that jeeps have about 6.25 inches to 8.8 inches so
they could get over more

Binomial approximation to the normal distribution.
What is Skewness and Kurtosis? How it is used and interpreted?
Binomial Distribution :
This kind of distribution is applied to single variable discrete data where results are
the number of successful outcomes in a given scenario.
E.g. :
no. of times the lights are red in 20 sets of traffic lights,
No of students with green eyes in class of 40,
No. of plants with diseased leaves from a sample of 50 plants.

Normal Distribution:
The normal distribution is a very common continuous probability distribution. Normal
distribution is important in statistics and is often used in the natural and social
sciences to represent real valued random variables whose distributions are not known.
This distribution is useful because of the central limit theory. In its most general
form, under some conditions which include finite variance), it states that average of
random variables independently drawn from independent distributions converge in
distribution to the normal, that is, become normally distributed when the number of
random variables is sufficiently large.
The normal distribution is sometimes informally called the bell curve. However,
many other distributors are bell shaped( such as the Cauchy, students and logistic
distribution).
Measure of Central Tendency :
The Mean, Median and Mode are all valid measures of central tendency, but under
different conditions, some measures of central tendency become more appropriate to
use than others.
Mean
The Mean is essentially a model of your data set. It is the value that is the most
common. However, Mean is not often one of the actual values that you have
observed in your data set, but it has one of its important properties is that it
maximizes error in the prediction of any one value in your data set. That is, it is the
value that produces the lowest amount of error

Abstract The Dutch Dolmens are one of the foremost heritage sites of the country
and continue to at tract many tourists. However, the Dutch Dolmens have more
than one purpose and is visited for spiritual reasons as well. New Age tourism is a
topic that has in recent years increasingly been studied by many academics. This
thesis has focused on New Age tourism to the Dutch Dolmens, and more
specifically their spiritual awareness of the Dutch Dolmens. The research question
is therefore: How does New Age counter cultural awareness of the Dutch Dolmens
differ from the official representation? To answer this question a closer look has
been given to the concepts of politic and poetic space as presented by Kong (2001).

While the hunebedden being burial chambers is the official story and what is mainly
represented by the hunebedcentrum (the museum about hunebedden in Borger), the
hunebedcentrum does not exclude the idea that the hunebedden might have had
additional spiritual meanings. An employee from the Hunebedcentrum stated: We
tell people that the hunebedden is what is left from the first peasant society of the
Netherlands. They are the oldest monuments of the Netherlands. They are part of a
special culture and are without doubt burial places. However, aside from their
function as burial places, they were probably also spiritual places. A place were the
people venerated their ancestors. We cannot know this for sure as there is no proof.
Additionally the hunebedden were used to mark the area. You have to imagine that
before the builders of the hunebedden, the people were hunters and gatherers. If you
want to claim an area and start building a house and agricultural land you have to

21. Factors Affecting Voice Differences
Before puberty all voices, male or female, sound alike. But as the hormones come
into play, they cause the male larynx to become larger and the vocal folds lengthen
and thicken. Not only are there internal factors that play a role in the voice changing
there are also physical factors, depending on the height and weight of an individual
that could affect the tone, pitch and frequency. The purpose of this assignment was to
better understand these differences.
As defined in our class manual, voice onset time (VOT) refers to the time difference
between a voiced stop closure and a voiceless stop. It is determined by the
articulatory blockage at the beginning of vocal fold vibration for the following
vowel. Among the various factors of VOT variations include; phonetic context,
place of articulation, speech tempo, and speakers gender. For voiceless stops,
women display longer VOT than men. For voiced stops however, the results are
rather mixed. Which makes sense if you look at the characteristics of mine and
Marks h d words, you will notice there are multiple differences within our tokens
regarding formant frequencies. However we show similarities with our durations. So I
wondered at first if this had anything to do with the tokens being the same word, or if
it was the vowel production. Differences between the speech of men and women
relates to the formant patterns associated with vowel production. Although men have
low frequency vowel formants than women, the differences in

Enzyme Design Lab
Research Question:
At what temperature does an enzyme react at its optimum rate?
Background Information:
Hydrogen Peroxide is a by product of many biological and chemical functions of
organism. Although it is toxic, it still remains in our cells. To counter the hydrogen
peroxide we produce something called a catalase. This means that with a catalase, it
can cause the chemical reaction to speed up the reaction of the Hydrogen Peroxide
so that it does not come in contact with our cells. The enzymes that are being used in
this lab, whichever catalase it may be, has an optimal or room temperature of 37В°C.
When the the chosen enzyme catalase is exposed to hydrogen peroxide, it begins to
decompose into the water mixed with the oxygen gas in the air. This means that
when an enzyme is damaged, it is no longer able to work as a catalyzer in a chemical
reaction.
When the potato is placed in the hydrogen peroxide mixture the reaction will happen
once the start of bubbles arise and the metabolic reaction process of decomposition.
This will happen because the reaction is caused by the catalase and the enzyme
within the potato.
Hypothesis:
If we heat up the water to a temperature higher than room temperature, then the length
of reaction will increase.

It opens up a wonderland of lifeforms that you would completely miss if you stay on
land.
Snorkeling in the Water around the Galapagos May Be the Highlight of Your Trip
In Their Natural Setting
Snorkeling is one way to see the marine life in its natural setting. Another way is
scuba diving. The main advantage of snorkeling is the freedom from complicated
gear and extended lessons. Unless you are traveling with a group that has packed
for diving, snorkeling is your best option. All you need is a mask, snorkel and fins.
You may want a wetsuit if you are diving on the western islands where the water is
cooler. Otherwise, it is not essential. There is special equipment for children to help
them stay in the right position.
If you visit the Galapagos on an expedition cruise, you will be provided with the
necessary snorkeling equipment and receive lessons. Your professional naturalist

28. The Pros And Cons Of Fracking
For over half a century, hydraulic fracturing, otherwise known as fracking, has been
an innovative industry used to remove oil and natural gas buried underground.
Established in 1947, fracking allowed industries to expand and develop new
technologies to further environmental safety and the discovery of natural gas.
Fracking releases natural gas trapped deep in shale underground. What is Fracking?
states Fracking was first introduced in 1947; however, wasn t commercially used
until 1999 with Barnett Shale (1). This industry sparks controversy all over the nation
and worldwide. The public protests the environmental safety and regulations, and the
fact corporations are not required to release the chemicals being used to drill the shale.

Farmers attributed the deaths of their livestock to fracking because the leakage from
the pipes created ponds on their lands and the cows would then drink. The industry
created fracking ponds in which the wastewater from the remaining chemicals would
be dispersed into the ponds. The ponds established by the corporation caused the
chemicals from drilling wells to soak into the soil causing illness and death. The fluid
pumped into the wells uses chemicals causing concern due to the unnecessary
information put out in regards to the chemicals being used. Fracking regulations do
not require the industry to release the information regarding which chemicals are
being used to drill out the shale. On the flip side of the coin, to contradict the
concerns the government established Regulations and Acts in order for fracking to
continue in business. According to What is fracking.com The EPA or the United
States Environmental Protection Agency helps establish federal laws in which
fracking must abide by. According to the U.S. Government Accountability Office: As

Another great example of Gilliam s use of imagery is the repeated chorus
Swimming in money . ( Owens.) With this line Gilliam to is not only appealing to
the current popular rap culture, which is predominantly made up of songs talking
about money and the subsequent use of it, but is also mocking said culture, himself
included. Gilliam almost appears to be at loss for what he should do with this
money, as he comments on Which automatically makes your mind think of a bathtub

money he doesn t know what to do with it, evidenced by the lines They all take the
money for granted. But don t want to work for it tell me now, isn t it funny? Nah . (
Owens.) A final great example of imagery is when Gilliam raps about Having
dreams that I m folding cake , ( Owens.) a scenario that could take many forms.
Although initially many people would hear as a relatively straightforward idea,
Gilliam wanting cake, there is a much deeper meaning behind this line. Gilliam
grew up poor, and as shown in the famous (yet misquoted) line by Marie Antoinette,
cake is oftentimes seen as a delicacy afforded to only the rich. This line in particular
sets up the main theme of Me, Myself and I , which is Gallium s determination to
make it on his own.
Gilliam really hits on this theme during the chorus, where he repeats the line Solo

Shakespeare s use of the Renaissance Idea of Fatalism and Imagery in King Lear
In a play about individual tragedies, fatalism plays an important part. Shakespeare
effectively uses cosmic imagery to define his characters and to explore the idea of
journeys linked to self discovery by relating it to the imagery of rotating circles.
Shakespeare uses Renaissance theology to explain character motivation. In the 16th
century there was a great belief in astronomy. People believed in the harmony of the
spheres and they were ruled by this idea of thhe natural alignment of the nine planets
in their orbits. Shakespeare incorporates this into King Lear in highlighting Edgar and
Gloucester s superstitious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Edmund turns away from the belief of the alignment of planets and harmonies and
towards nature as that is all he can be really sure of. The fact that Edmund doesn t
believe in spherical predominance proves that he is different to the society around
him. Shakespeare takes every opportunity to emphasise this to distinguish evil
from good in the play putting Edmund forward as a character who is out of
harmony. When Gloucester predicts that eclipses in the sun and moon suggesting a
bad omen, Edmund casts aspersions on this idea, accusing the world of foppery ,
describing it as excellent because he sees it as a weakness that he can exploit from
his anti human point of view. Edmund is also stating that people are fops or fools
because they blame their evil and wrong doings, which is really part of their
character our own behaviour , on the cosmos. Even though Edmund does rightly say

that when we are sick in fortune often surfeits of our own behaviour we make guilty

While President Lyndon B. Johnsons Great Society program was battling racial
inequality and poverty in the 60s, a small group of friends gathered and discussed the
idea of manipulating the technology television to do the same, to have a show that
promoted racial tolerance and compassion through education. When most parents sit
their children in front of the television and turn on child education programs, they
have a sense of gratitude, children s shows would teach their children the alphabet
and how to count while they could handle their grown up stuff. For years, my parents
sat me in front of the television and turned on Sesame Street and so did my
grandparents when my parents were little. Sesame Street was a daycare in a box, my
Father used to joke, but even though Sesame Street had lessons on colors, numbers,
and shapes, I doubt my grandparents or parents thought about the greater lessons that
Sesame Street aimed to teach children beyond the ABCs to teach children about
diversity and inclusion and other sensitive issues regarding health, safety, and cultural
awareness through catchy jingles, diverse casts, special guest stars, and of course our
furry little monster friends. In many ways, Sesame street took children s programing
father than it ever had gone before and it set the tone for entertainers, artists, and
educators to embrace a sense social responsibility to American youth.

Democritus (460 BC 370 BC) (Abdera, Greece)
Democritus was a Greek Philosopher who was the first individual to utilize the term
atom. He imagined that if you take a bit of matter and divide it and keep on dividing
it, you will eventually come to a point where you could not isolate it any longer. This
principle or fundamental unit was what Democritus called an atom.
He called this the theory of the universe:
all matter compromises of atoms, which are bits of matter too little to be seen
there is an unfilled space between atoms
atoms are completely solid
atoms have no internal structure

34. The Old Testament Scriptures
The Old Testament scriptures, the account of the deuteronomistic writers, and the
actions of the God of the Hebrew Bible reveal to us many facets of God and the
character of God. Several of the images are not images that we would like to
consider when we envision the savior, the redeemer, the God who loves us and
cares for us and this is difficult to reconcile with our Christian experience. In
consideration of the overall image of God, Mills asserts that God s image consists of
three elements God the creator, God the judge, and God the redeemer. God formed
humanity in his likeness in the creation of Genesis, God judges and chastises
humanity through their cycle of apostasy, and then God rescues, redeems and
restores an oppressed and fallen Israel. Although at various points within the journey
God was the punisher of Israel and exerted his wrath upon them, the anger was
because of God s love for Israel.
The problems in understanding the God of the Hebrew bible arise when justifying an
angry, abusive and controlling God. In the modern context, abusive behavior,
whether physical or verbal is shunned and frowned upon. We are taught that love
should not hurt and that those who love are supportive, protective, a safe place and
a support system. To embrace the God of the Hebrew Bible is contrary to our
natural inclination to avoid control, pain, and conflict. Common questions arise,
such as how could a God who loves you allow tragedy? How could a God who loves
you allow
35. Gender Stereotypes Influence Of Female Suicides In
Literature
THESIS:
To what extent do gender stereotypes influence how female suicides are portrayed in
classic literature?
The question that I will be researching is: To what extent does do gender stereotypes
influence how women s suicides are portrayed? Females are often expected to be
submissive, dependent and youthful. These stereotypes are perpetuated in Western
literature that is dominated by white, Christian men; a woman who killed herself is
either deserted or fallen or the conventional aftermath of seduction and betrayal . As
humans, we have and innate fascination with this topic: Albert Camus once said
that there is but one truly serious philosophical problem and that is suicide .
Female suicides are stigmatized by society but it are romanticized in literature, art
and fashion. For an instance, ... Lucretia piercing her bare breast with a dagger, to
Cleopatra clutching the asp to her milky bosom, to Ophelia floating weightlessly in
a flower filled stream... . In some cases, when a woman kills herself, she is

Both topics have impacted my life greatly so I wanted to write about both. I was
researching different philosophies relating to suicide, I noticed that non Western
culture has a greater tolerance for suicide and it is considered honorable in some
aspects, whereas Western culture, especially Catholicism is morally opposed to this
act. Consequently I was coming up with examples of how Western culture
romanticizes suicide and the only ones I could come up were of female suicides;
Ophelia, Anna Karenina and Edna Pontellier. This made me wonder; are suicides
more prevalent for women in western literature than eastern literature (have a higher
ratio of men) by cause of the different stigmas around suicide? After some research I
realized that my hypothesis was wrong: female suicides are portrayed very similar
across cultures in

1. EURO ZONE CRISIS CONSIDERABLY AFFECTED INDIAN LEATHER
INDUSTRY
According to says Council for Leather Export, Indian leather exports were
registering an appreciable growth of more than 15% in Dollar Terms during the first
seven months of 2014 15, but, eventually ended with a moderate growth of 9.37%
during the fiscal 2014 15, primarily due to the Euro Zone crisis .
A decline in value of Euro followed by the crisis in Euro Zone is likely to have a
negative effect on India s export to European region, which accounts for around 18%
19% of India s total leather exports. The exports from key areas like Leather and
Gems Jewellery, which holds a major contribution in India s total exports to the
region were said to have witnessed a negative effect in the initial months of the
current fiscal due to the Euro Zone crisis.

38. What Is The Significance Of The Globe Theatre
The Globe Theatre is an open air playhouse which is considered one of the most
famous theatres in the world. Many of Shakespeare s plays were written so that they
could be performed in the theatre, and he was a part of the company that constructed
and owned it. The theatre was built during a time whereby there was an entertainment
vacuum in London, and was thus hugely popular amongst the masses for the variety
of plays that graced its stage. Unfortunately, it was shut down and demolished in less
than a hundred years but it remains as one of theatrical history s most significant
icons.
Shakespeare s Globe Theatre was originally an Elizabethan theatre that was built in
1599 in London, and it was named as such due to the fact that Shakespeare wrote
multiple plays which were staged there. It was one of the major theatres in the area it
was built in (Southwark) along with the Rose Theatre, Hope Theatre and Swan
Theatre. As a dramatist, Shakespeare was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is presumably Lord Chamberlain s Men s motto, and it was paired with a logo
that depicted Hercules carrying the world (the globe) on his shoulders. The theatre s
third level housed a small structure supported by columns from the stage, and this
was where announcements were made and flags which advertised new plays were
flown here.
Shakespeare s Globe Theatre was truly the most magnificent theatre that was built
in its time, and a replica of it exists today in the same location it was originally built
in. Other replicas such as the Panasonic Globe Theatre in Tokyo have also been built
around the world, albeit not as accurate as the first one in Southwark is. This
effectively proves how iconic the Globe Theatre is in our world, both in the past and
present. Hence, one can anticipate the theatre s strong foothold over architectural
design for new theatres for generations to
39. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Managed Care

Manage Care Organizations
The United States has a unique system of healthcare delivery, it is complex and
massive. Twenty five years ago; American citizens had guaranteed insurance, meaning

Managed care, military, vulnerable populations and integrated delivery

Introduction
There are various government structures in organizations although they are different
from one branch of the government to the other. The structures help the government
manage its economy efficiently. In the economy a too big to fail firm (TBTF) exists
and it is defined as one that its complexity, size, critical functions, and
interconnections are in the sense that in case the firm goes into liquidation
unexpectedly, the rest of the economy and financial system will face severe
consequences. The government provides support to TBTF companies not because
they favor them but because they recognize implications for an advanced economy of
allowing a disorderly failure outweighs the cost of avoiding the failure. Helping the
TBTF firms enable the economy to realize high revenue. Various activities are to
prevent their failure. They include providing credit, facilitating a merger, or injecting
the capital of the government. The paper addresses the structures of the
administration and the concept of too big to fail in financial and non financial
institutions plus the ethics involved with the theory.

41. Education Is The Best Important Things For Me Essay
Education is one of the most important things for me. I believe education is the
way to be a better person, and it is the key to being who you want to be. My dream
is to be a doctor; however, I have limited resources. My parents did not have money
to send me to college. I am currently getting a loan for my associate degree. I am
concern about the amount of money I am going to pay back on the loan after I
graduate. This is making me anxious and is limiting my likelihood to continue post
associate degree. I know many people who are in the same situation. Many people
drop out from college, and many also choose not to seek college education just
because of the expensive tuition. That s why I am proposing free college tuition and
fees for all Americans, so that students from poor families can also seek college
education without financial worries, so that student can focus on learning, and so
that graduates can start their various careers free of debtor without significant debt in
order to focus on developing the economy.
As in every country, all American are not equal in terms of wealth. There are few
people extremely rich, and we have rich people, then we have the middle class,
followed by the poor who struggle to make ends meet. It is so obvious for poor
people to put their basic needs such as food and shelter as a priority whereas
spending money on education represents a luxury for them. However, education is
the way to come out of poverty because it leads to employment which
42. Slate Relief Palette Of King Narmer
1. The Egyptians were extremely religious, and their belief in life after death was
an important part of their culture. They believed that, in order for the spirit to live
on, the dead person s body had to be preserved, or mummified, and buried along
with supplies of food and drink, tools and utensils, valued possessions all the things
the person had needed or enjoyed on earth. The higher the person s station in life, the
more extensive the preparations for the afterlife. Kings and other weathly persons
had elaborate tombs built. Sculptures and wall paintings in the tombs were also
created for use in the next life.
For more than 2000 years, egypt was one of the richest and most civilized lands in
the ancient world. Much of what we know about this great civilization has been
learned from its art and architecture. In particular, the ruins of tombs and temples
have provided a valuable record of Egyptian life. ... Show more content on

The slate relief Palette of King Narmer illustrates many formal and iconographic
conventions Egyptian artists employed for the next 2500 years; primary among these
is the Egyptian preference for descriptive rather than optical representation. The
conventional figures offer a composite view of the human body, with the ruler rigid
and formal, while lesser humans display greater movement and a variety of poses.
The palette s narrative imagery is composed in registers without regard for three
dimensional space or setting. Hieroglyphic text explains the palette s subject, which
,unlike most surviving Egyptian art, is commemorative but not funerary, most

44. Hollywood Unforgiven
The 1992 American western film Unforgiven, is directed and produced by the
leading role in the film, Clint Eastwood. The film exemplifies many plays upon
notions of ideology. In order for the film to be valid, the viewers must examine and
understand the differences and similarities between the historical and cultural aspects
of the American West. Hollywood portrays the West to be adventurous, action packed,
mysterious, and the opportunity for freedom and profit. Unforgiven is a filmthat
portrays a typical Hollywood setting of the wild west, with bandits, sheriffs,
prostitutes, alcohol and guns. Since this film is a fictional story, it is based on
narrative assumptions of stories, legends, myths that are passed down from families
to primary resources. Though Hollywood exaggerates these stories, they create and
work with those given assumptions to create something entertaining. These
characters in the film are held in place without knowing it... Show more content on

46. Essay on The Three Synoptic Gospels
The word gospel is a translation of the Greek word euangelion which means good
news. The first three books in the New Testament (Mark, Matthew, and Luke) are
often referred to as the Synoptic Gospels (from Greek synoptikos, seen together )
They bear greater similarity to each other than any of the other gospels in the New
Testament. Along with these similarities come some differences among the gospels,
suggesting that each gospelwas written for a specific audience and for a specific
purpose. This paper will examine the resurrection of Jesus, while identifying the
significant differences between Mark, Matthew and Luke. This paper will also
analyze the differences to suggest the prominent theological perspective each gospel

Matthew 28.1 says that only Mary Magdalene and the other Mary approached the
tomb, however it does not mention the purpose of the visit. In Luke 24.1, we find
out that they are taking spices to the tomb. We do not find out the identities of they
in Luke 24 until verse 10. This suggests that Mark and Matthew want the visitors to
the tomb to be known immediately, while Luke chooses to emphasize the purpose of
the visit. Mark and Luke reveal the purpose of the visit, although slightly different,
Matthew does not discuss the reason for the outing. The discussion of the stone s
removal is also a point of much variance.
Upon arriving at the tomb, the stone placed in front of the tomb becomes an issue.
In Mark 16.3 4, there is some discussion about who is going to move the stone, and
then they realize that the stone has already been moved. Luke also finds the stone
rolled back once they approach. Matthew has a completely different version of the
removal of the stone. In Matthew 28.2, there was a great earthquake and an angel
came down from heaven, rolled back the stone and sat down on the stone. Mark and
Luke leave some mystery in the removal of the stone, while Matthew describes an act
of divine intervention which removes the stone. The accounts of what was in the
tomb are varying extremely from gospel to gospel.
Matthew provides a description of the angel who sits up the
